Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: everything you need

This resort has a huge beautiful beach and swimming area! Great food and delicious a la carts. Wonderful Maid and Butler service to help with anything you need. We traveled Jan 24-Feb 1. It was a little cool with high winds. There was entertainment every night for everyone.

Sol Varadero Beach: Amazing

All are excellent, rooms, dining, services and very helpful staff for sure I will visit this place again the beach is amazing and the bar services is excellent and no complains from the stuff for as long as you need

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Wonderful getaway

Hotel was well appointed; staff were warm and friendly. It's a smaller resort which is wonderful; the beach and all amenities are close to the rooms. No need to take golf carts to get around. Would have liked a heated pool or jacuzzi.

Melia Marina Varadero: Good resort

Wanted a swimming pool not just a wading pool Beach windy most days Snack bar restaurant greatly needs improvement Tired of cafeteria style meals Staff mostly friendly and helpful Hospitality room offered when waiting for a flight was disgusting Better not to offer anything than a dirty room with a broken bed and filthy shower

Palma Real: Great trip by trip central!!!

Hotel and grounds were great beach even better!! My son and I had a wonder time!! Will go back again!! And will use trip central, awesome job guys love trip central!! I will recommend both travel planners and resort to all my friends! Last minute deals are the bomb! Planning our next visit with trip central for next winter!!

Club Karey: Great beach

The beach location couldn't get ant better. Kite surfing possibility Pool area nice. Simple, clean. Who wants to gain weight on vacation anyways. The second week the moustiques were out. Hospitable and friendly.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Nice Resort

Nice staff. Nice room. Better variety of food than at some Cuban resorts. Piano bar is very good. Enjoyed the tennis courts and ping pong table. Room towels need to be replaced and pool chairs are not really comfortable. We had a good week, but unfortunately there was a cold front for the entire week (not under the resort's control).

Melia Marina Varadero: OK Resort

The Hotel was built in 2013 - it is still nice and clean - only one pool, only one tennis court, only 3 A LA Carte restaurants included and one was not available Food was OK for Cuba, the beach is far away, from the hotel, but you can catch a hotel golf cart to take you there

Starfish Jibacoa: First time impressions?

My girlfriend and I have had the pleasure of visiting Villa Jibacoa Cuba recently. The local Cubans are more than friendly. I found a welcome smile at every glance. The resort staff for the most part were also very welcoming however we found a few undesirable glitches but chalked them up as experience due to the very good all inclusive price ( hard to beat). Lets face it people.....snow here....beach and surf there. Need i say more? Food is something to get use to or accept it for what it is. We [... read more] believed that they accommodated us the best they could with what they have. Cuba is a 2nd class world rating and a very affordable trip. Keep in mind....it is what it is. There people struggle very hard there and the way of life is different than ours. I came home with a completely different perspective of my life and what I had in it. In short....Im very thankful, so don't go to Cuba expecting all 5 star living. Only the people themselves meet or exceed that rating. The snorkeling is fantastic but you need to be careful on the windy days. You could easily get shredded or hurt bad. Keep your wits at hand and at all times. There is a flag posted on the beach for you and I suggest you heed its warning. The RED flag is pretty much self explanatory. No one should stay strictly on the resort . For a mere visit to the desk they will set up a reservation for you to be picked up and taken just up the road to a restaurant called LOS MARIUS. Fantastic experience with atmosphere.....Dianee is your host and is the best. Very good English and serves you a seafood dinner to die for and the whole experience including ride in a 50 Chevy there and back for a mere $15 Pecos a piece. I guarantee this excursion at home is easily a $60 dollar plate alone. Havana was great but prepare for a long day. You can easily find a cab with a 10 minute walk outside the gate. I highly recommend asking for Giselle and Yosmany. $50 - $60 Pecos is her cost and easily worth twice her asking price. Giselle knows her stuff and will give you a tour there worth more than you expected. She sure knows her Cuban history and her English is very good. Please tip her well. She deserves it but most certainly does not expect it. I could write this review easily into chapters but the end result is completely up to the individual and there own expectations. All I know is this.......We had met numerous people who will not go anywhere else and have continued to return to this resort ONLY....and for many years and every year! Spend the $$$.....visit the Villa....judge for yourself. We were quite happy yet sad it had to end...BUT YET......there's always next year and I'm counting the days already even as I type this review. SJH

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Good Time

We have been to Cuba before and knew what to expect. There were some small minor annoyances as can be expected anywhere, but nothing that could ruin your trip. Our room was freshly painted and was nice and clean. We were missing a sheet and all towels on arrival but our maid fixed that the next day. Room was not ready until almost 5pm, but that seemed to be the norm here, new for us as we've never had to wait before anywhere else. Food was quite good for Cuba. Lots of fresh stations. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Exceeds all expectations

The best all inclusive resort ever visited in Cuba. Spectacular well groomed beach with plenty of sun shades, new Balinese sun beds, chaise lounges so no real need to stake your spot at dawn. Large comfortable rooms with decent beds and new bathrooms. First class dining, Steak, Roasts, fresh garden vegetables, Lobster, Shrimp, Prosciutto, Cheeses, fresh fruit, premium liquor and champagne. Nightly professional class entertainment was very enjoyable. Also this resort is very handicapped friendly with ramps and impeccably clean washrooms. The only Cons, some rooms still to be re-painted and strangely enough no Clamato juice as they seem to have everything else. Already planning a return trip next year.

Melia Marina Varadero: A little taste of Heaven

The Melia Marina is beautiful. The rooms are clean, the staff are wonderful, the food (for Cuba) hit the spot. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and the hotel being only a few years old is the nicest we saw. I would return again and again.

Barcelo Solymar: very nice resort

I have been to this Hotel many times but this time it was no good. oh the service was very good and clean but the maintenance was very poor. every second Day there was no hot Water, the Pool bar the Boards were full of holes you had to watch were you walked there was many more. I was there 2 years ago and it was not like that. But we had a good time.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Great beaches, resort in need of TLC

The grounds were beautiful, however the main lobby and restaurants needed some repairs. Most of the restrooms were not functioning, no locks on the doors, mirrors that you could not even use. The food was terrible, really need to revamp your menu and make meals that ppl would actually enjoy. The food was so bland or unappealing that I was not tempted to even try it. The a la carte dinners were no better, over cooked food, spaghetti that tastes like it was cooked in dirty water was really disappo [... read more]inting. Making reservations for some of those places proved to be difficult even though when we were at the restaurants there were a lot of empty tables. Our room was clean and the maid was very friendly, unlike some of the lobby staff. The hair blowers worked when it decided it would work and the a/c also did the same. Talking with or over hearing other guests we did not hear one person say that they would return there for a second vacation. It's infortunate because this place could so be a vacationers paradise but the lack of attention to the resort and terrible food really plays into deciding where to vacation on our next trip. Note that the mojitos on the private beach were amazing

Starfish Jibacoa: OK resort.

On the plus side, the people working there are great, the landscaping is beautiful, the beach not crowded, there's a great reef right off the beach which is the reason I keep returning. It's a nice quiet location as well, I'm not looking for party central. On the negative side, the food is OK but can be repetitive and the couple of public washrooms on site can be a little dodgy when trying to flush.

Melia Marina Varadero: VERY PLEASED

This is our third time in Varadeo, Cuba. The Melia Marine was well beyond our exceptions. Hotel was very clean and well kept and organized. The Hotel was fully booked and you didn't feel crowed. Reception was fast and very accommodating. Hotel was very modern and offered many facilities and daily entertainment. Pool area was fantastic, many many chairs, didn't have to reserve a chair, first time in a resort. I loved the beach, even though the hotel is not on the beach. Three a la carts were outstanding, great selection. Great entertainment inside and outside the hotel during the evening. We had pool side room, but if you wanted music and watch the boats than take the marina side. Overall a wonderful vacation. You will not be disappointed. I also give Trip Central a thank you, great service, you made it quick and simple. Also Canjet was outstanding, everything on time no waits and the Canjet representative was very nice and professional. Thanks for giving us a wonderful week of sun/water and feeling very satisfied.

Palma Real: KEEP LOOKING

If you are looking for table service, shower curtain, safe locks, blow dryers, short walk to the beach, comfortable beds, or top shelf liquor then this is NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. Very disappointing to vacation in Cuba for the first time and had to spend it here. When I return to Cuba in the future I will be MILES from this place.

Right from the get go our agent was awesome she recommend this resort so a first time cuba traveller we took her advice resort was great clean rooms grounds were beautiful food was great lots of choices beach was fabulous service was great lots of tours to choose from long story short could not have asked for anything better.
