Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice resort

This resort had a beautiful beach with newer clean buildings, but the service was awful. For example, at restaurants including buffet it was difficult to get water with meal which should never be an issue.

Hotel Internacional: Hotel was closed 2 days prior to leaving!!!!!

Had a change to the Barceló Solymar, but I think they knew we did not book there originally, treated very badly, first four nites had a room DIRECTLY over the disco, and the following week and 1/2 were directly over the loading dock area, great diesel fumes

Starfish Jibacoa: We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at Villas Jibacoa from Jan. 19 to 26, 2015. It's important to go knowing you are staying at a 3 star in Cuba and arrive with the right mind set, we did and enjoyed out stay. Our bungalow was #2 and just 100 feet from the beach with a fantastic view from out porch. The room was small with older furniture but was clean. Plenty of hot water and toilet worked well. Lots of loungers on the beach and shade everywhere if you want some. We did some snorkeling which was very good with lots of fish to be seen. Only 2 red flag days while we were there. The bartenders in the lobby bar were great and make better drinks than most resorts no matter the star rating. Rudy was so friendly and makes a mean mojito. Food was just OK but expected at a 3 star. Never went hungry and the servers were super friendly and always smiling. We would defiantly go back. The value you get for the price is what makes Villas Jibacoa a bargain.

Starfish Varadero: food was good

Bungalow room was nice, food was good (for Cuba), wait staff, maids were great. Towels in room were small however beach towels were great. Grounds could've been cleaned better/quicker. Always plastic glasses laying around, some broken glass. No seats on the beach toilets and always carry your own Kleenex no matter where you go - off or on property. Sol Palmeras: Amazing Resort

I had an amazing week at this resort. The food was fantastic and the staff was amazing. It is also very close to downtown Varadero where you can spend time with the very friendly locals. I would recommend this resort to anyone!!!!

Palma Real: Bellevue, the Belle

The Bellevue Palma still lives up to its name. The entertainment at night is fabulous. What we would pay in a Canadian theatre to see such performances! And to think, most are self taught! The staff stand out at this resort. This has been our third return and we received warm and embracing smiles and hugs; from the security to the buffet, to the gift shop. The location of the hotel is perfect for an evening stroll into downtown Varadero and to catch the double decker bus for a 5 pesetas all day  [... read more]ride taking in the whole beautiful area. I loved the different pool areas. If I wanted lively Cuban music and pool volley ball I would lounge by the swim up bar pool. Then for a tranquil and relaxing afternoon I enjoyed my book at the other pool. Such lovely variety. And of course the endless flow of delicious drinks at the many bars. Being home for afew days, we already miss our Bellevue Palma!

Palma Real: 3rd time a disappointment

First of all I would like to say the arrangements through Trip Central and WestJet were perfect. No glitches anywhere. As for Palma Real. This was our third time at the hotel and the resort had gone downhill. The property had been left unpainted, and large pieces of the walls and outside areas were broken and not repaired. Only 3/4 of the outside path lighting worked, One of the pools water level was down about 2 feet and it didn't appear as it was being repaired or cleaned. ( a little tip each day goes a long way ) Service at the restaurants and bars was good with the exception of the Lobby bar and pool bar as they seemed to wander away and talk with each other rather than serve. To be fair both bars were understaffed. Front desk: rude - arrogant - unambitious. Still: Two pools were great, location very good, beach very good.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Memories resort

The resort was clean well maintained. friendly service on the whole. Entertainment every night was good.Beaches were clean and nice sandy beaches. great for strolling along the beach. Good hours for the buffet

Memories Jibacoa: A little bit of everything!

This was a wonderful resort to stay at! We liked that it was smaller; made it feel more homey. Not very far from Havana, so you could easily take a cab there for the day. The beach was wonderful if you enjoy snorkeling! Lots of fish and beautiful coral. (but careful of stinging jelly fish) You can also hike up to the top of the big hill and get an amazing view of the resort as well as the surrounding area. The staff is very friendly and the food was good.

Hotel Los Cactus: Over Rated Hotel

The hotel was dated, falling apart. Plates and cutlery in dining room never really clean. Some staff members rude and uncaring. Food was same every day in buffet, never changing it up. This hotel at best is a 3 star maybe even a 2-1/2 star.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: A beautiful resort ! Would highly recommend.

This resort in Cuba was amazing!!! The staff was very friendly and approachable. Nightly entertainment was enjoyable, beautiful beach and grounds. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves and would go back again.

Melia Varadero: Beautiful resort

Beautiful people, extremely nice and helpful. Beach and ocean were wonderful and very clean. Food however was not great. Even the al a carte restaurants were not well done. Our room's phone did not work and we did have an oceanview room but over a noisy 24hr café and the smell of propane was present.

Playa Caleta: had a great time!!!!!

they had a good poolside bbq lunch daily. The a la cartes were ok. I recommend shrimp tempura at the chinese restaurant. Shows nightly-don't miss the magician! Bartenders were great and all staff friendly and helpful.

Hotel Villa Cuba: A Great Budget Vacation

A good three star hotel for those who are not obsessed with perfection. The rooms were clean, the food was good, and the staff were wonderful. Villa Cuba has a clean, large white sand beach with plenty of shade and shallow swimming.

Sol Varadero Beach: Everything you need

Stayed Jan 14, 2015 to Jan 21, 2015. A little disappointed in our first room assignment but was given another room the next day. 1st room was clean and acceptable except it was on the ground floor on the back of the building by the front entrance. 2nd room was on the pool side on the second floor...much better. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. The girl at the swim up bar will be your friend forever if you bring her chocolate for her little baby ;-). Buffet at Sirenas Coral was ok but wit [... read more]h a little stroll to the other buffet is well worth the walk, it's not that far. Beaches are great; all sandy hard packed bottom for as far as you want to walk out. I snorkelled 300 meters each way and found nothing but sand and a couple little conch shells. Four little gift huts on site will supply any gifts you might want to bring home and one will use a wood burning tool to add a personal touch to your purchase. Again, one of the best beaches we've been to in Cuba and this was our fourth trip to the Island. Rooms were cleaned everyday and the service was great. Besides, don't put too much stalk in any room unless your a shutin and don't plan on going outside. The coffee shop in the main lobby serves good coffee (with milk) and is a good way to start your day. We'd go back!

Hotel Bella Costa: breeze bella costa

we were there for two weeks..... secound time at this resort.... very clean.....peoples amazing.... food excellent you will not starve..... beach excellent..... over all plane on tyme dept. and arrival earlly... wow!!!!!

Hotel Los Cactus: Disappointing

Upon arrival, room key didn't work. 3 hours later, finally got in room. Staff surly unless they get tipped. Food mediocre at best. However, layout of resort is great. If you have mobility issues, don't go. Many steps.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: I wil definitely being returningl

Anyone who has flown out of hamilton know its the only way to travel. Sunwing flight was very good. Las morlas is the resort i have been looking for years. Its smaller so not a lot of walking to get anywhere on the grounds. The staff are pleasant, friendly, helpful and they all speak English. The food was very good ,nice pool and pool bar,nice beach bar ,and pleasant grounds all around. I am a single traveller but it didnt feel like it for sure. Resonance Blu Varadero: Disappointing Trip

In its day I'm sure this was a fabulous hotel, however today it is in need of an extreme makeover. There was several fountain/water features that were non-functioning, the pathway lighting was intermittent and the grounds were very dark at night. The public washrooms often had only one toilet working in high traffic areas such as the buffet. Staff seemed indifferent as to whether they were providing good service or not.

Hotel Bella Costa: amazing staff and good food.

We stayed as 6 adults and 5 kids. All food was great. Especially the fresh orange juice, omlette stand, toaster for breakfast. Pasta and grill stand for the dinner. We did not even try the ala carte aa we were very happy with the buffet. Ocean was great as usual. Just a little bit chilly as it was december. The staff was amazing and friendly. Loved the resort.
