Melia Jardines del Rey: Good hotel

We  enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. We also ensured to manage our expectations: it's Cuba, it might be some shortage, some hiccups, but it's wonderful best in the world beaches, great nice people and lower cost. Food was ok, at the beginning of our stay, but after a couple of days it was really good. We even got good sushi on one night:-) Desserts are good, their flour seems to be a different type, so it impacts taste, but other then that very good variety. Same with drinks, som [... read more]e shortages, but we got tequila and gin when we asked for it:-)Also, in buffet I found that if you raise your hand, someone will come immediately and you will get what you need. We went to restaurants, very nice, good food and it wasn't same as in buffet. We got to deal with customer service because our washroom door locked itself. I spoke to a rep in the lobby and by the time we came to our room, everything was fixed (took about 5 minutes).Beach is great! They have a lagoon type of thing just a bit on a side,  it's very nice to walk there. There are lot of fish in the water everywhere, you just need to put goggles on and put yr face into water. Only one pool was working when we were there (Cuba, we expected something might not be available:-) ). It was personally a bit too loudly there for us, so we came there just couple times. Nice clean pool, it has few sections with different depth from 40 cm to 155 cm..They were doing a lot of renovation, and that was a reason why the second pool was not open. For a week we stayed they painted umbrellas near the pool, renovated little bridges to the beach. They were making a barbecue area, pretty excited to come again and see the results.:-)Entertainment was good: dance show, songs, dancing fun with guests, they also played volleyball on the beach. It's not far from the airport, just about 20 minutes ride, tourist area, so even going thru customs is not a bad experience. Everybody is nice and smiling Few thing which bittered our stay: mosquitoes and some rocky spots on the beach.  Both things are seasonal, they did a great job though of spraying something to kill mosquitoes, we even enjoyed watching a small plane doing it from  air (quite entertaining )We had plenty of repellent (strong recommendation bring few with you!) , we also had water shoes, definitely helped too.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing

The resort was amazing. We had a little difficulty with wifi first couple of days but they fixed it up. Everything was very clean, the food was good and the staff was amazing. We had a swim out room which made our stay that much better.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories-Bad Memories

Resort is clean and appears maintained. The staff is lackluster, most barely doing their job. The cleaning staff however are amazing. Tips mean nothing, these people are just not top notch . The flies and other insects are unbearable ...this place needs to be shutdown and fogged for about a week to get the bug aspect under control. The beer was cold ..otherwise there is nothing positive to be said.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Disappointed

Most of the staff was rude no drinks except for mango juice to kick with liquor, wine and beer 1 day of watered down soda. Not much variety of food in buffet all week. Mosquitoes were horrible even with bug spray !!! Will not be going back and do not recommend

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Very clean, the staff was amazingly friendly.. would recommend a stay at this hotel.

First of all big shout out to Orlando the bartender at the family pool. he was so great. Friendly, helpful and a lot of fun. There was some food not available but what they did have was very good. The beach was fabulous. Long stretch for walking and the water had a sandy bottom that was kind on the feet. A very good resort.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Absolute Not , Never Again

Unsanitary environment. staff and food covered in house flies .. no scent of cleaning solutions.. Diamond club rooms disgrace the Diamond club resort status Stay / Book at your own Risk.. I can't blame the staff, I believe the responsibility lands squarely on ownership. I am disappointed the sellers even offer this to paying customers knowing the conditions

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

Hotel clean and new. Beach beautiful with white sand and clear warm water. Staff are amazing, friendly and always with a warm smile. Food is good lots to eat,staff make do with what they have. Drinks are good if your are not picky always something to drink. Some shortages as it is Cuba but not that noticeable. Take alot of bug repellent with deet as the resort is by swamps and lots of flies and mosquitoes. We keep them at bay. All in all best resort we've been to in Cuba.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: BEAUTIFUL RESORT BUT NEED BETTER STAFF !!!!!

Hotel is new and beautiful but service is not good !!! Baby crib was not in the room and we went two nights with out it !!!! Water in the room you should get every day we did not get it for two days !!! Sunwing is terrible are transfer from hotel to airport was late 2 hours and nobody did anything to help us !!!!!Staff at the front desk just told us that is not are problem call taxi!!!!SUNWING TERRIBLE COMUNICATION TRAVEL AGENT DONT DO HIS JOB !!!!! NEVER AGAIN TRAVEL WITH SUNWING!!!!!!

Melia Cayo Coco: Very nice resort

Quiet, pleasant stay . The resort is very clean and the employees are incredibly gracious. Food is pretty good for Cuba, especially considering the shortages. Good selection of drinks with slight shortages near the end of the week but bar staff do their best to make it work. Bring mosquito repellent as it’s next to a lagoon.Overall would return if the price was reasonable.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Wonderful Resort

My stay at Iberostar Daiquiri was wonderful. The grounds are clean and well kept. The pools are crystal clear with lots of space and plenty of loungers around. The lobby is great, with a TV so i could watch my Sunday Football. Beach is Beautiful, there is a great pier to go snorkeling from with lots of different fish to see. Best part of my stay though, was the super friendly and welcoming staff. They made me feel at home. Cant wait to go back

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories Caribe Cayo Coco Cuba

The beach is stunning. The flies, mosquitoes, and noseums were relentless. Flies were all over the food at the buffet. The people are absolutely lovely. It should be noted to book an a la carte table for dinner, do so at the beginning of your trip cause people book early.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Has the basics

Memories Flamenco is in need of some upgrades. It has the basics, but the pools are missing huge chunks of tiles, could use a good cleaning. Food was ok ... basic, which I expected. Was disappointed in the beach, as the coral makes it really hard on the feet getting in and out of the water. Jelly fish were in season so we spent our time at the pool anyway.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Relaxing week at the Grand Ashton

This was our first time in Cayo Paredon. The Grand Ashton Hotel is fairly new, our room had a nice view of the main pool and ocean. This is the nicest room we have had in Cuba and was kept clean. Very impressed by the level of cleaning of the grounds, lobby, bathrooms, etc. All the staff are very friendly and ready to help, we felt welcomed and appriciated. The food was good and plentyful, meals were pretty much the same everyday but always felt satisfied with what I had. Very nice [... read more] pools for every type of person...party, quiet, family, etc. The beach is amazing and clean. Plenty of palapas and chairs. You will not see seaweed like in Mexico and Punta Cana...Seaweed here is almost zero. For the nightly entertainment, there are no amphiteatre and have limited shows in the lobby area. FYI...you will not have soft drinks on the resort because of availability and no Mojito's nor Pina Colada. As reference, the hotel is about a 30 minute bus ride from the airport. We will be going back to this hotel.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Amazing resort!

It was our second stay at this resort, and it was great again! The food was decent, the room was nice and well maintained, the staff was amazing. Customer service was professional and helpfull, special thanks to Suleidy (front desk). Wide beach with a lo-o-o-t of palapas, white sand, turquoise and warm ocean - everything you need to relax. We will definetely come back to this beatiful place.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: A wonderful, unique resort.

This was our second (and long overdue!) visit to the Colonial after several years. We love this place! Our room was lovely, spacious and clean with plenty of room for 3 beds. The air conditioning worked well, and there was plenty of warm water available in the large 4 piece bathroom. The food was adequate, with a few shortages (as we had expected). What was available was tasty and well prepared, and the a la Cartes were excellent!The staff were very pleasant, friendly, courteous and hard working [... read more].The entertainment was excellent, with some very talented young performers.There were some renovations in progress, and the salt water pool was closed, but the beach was absolutely gorgeous, and the fresh water pool was clean and well maintained. The gardens were well maintained and very pretty. We had a wonderful week!

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Should be closed down

Not enough room here to list everything that was below expectations in this resort. Please feel free to call me and I will gladly outline everything that is so very bad about this so called holiday resort.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice new clean resort

The hotel itself is super clean, our room was cleaned daily to our satisfaction. Towels in the room and for the beach were no problem. The beach was beautiful, very little debris, eg seaweed garbage etc. The four specialty restaurants were mostly good, Brazilian being our best because of the way the meat was cooked, more similar to home. Having gone to Cuba probably 20 times we know what the food is like, however, each time we go we hope for something different, again not the case. The buffet wa [... read more]s far from great, if I were a fussy eater I would have basically starved. Dish after dish of “stuff” that looked not very appetizing and unidentifiable for the most part. Our first two days the flies were unbelievable, on the tables everywhere and around and in the food as well, totally disgusting! Then the buffet closed for two days for “renovations” when it reopened the flies situation was better (less of them) the food selection however remained the same. It’s my understanding that the Cuban economy depend heavily on tourism, for the life of me I can’t understand why the food and the way it’s prepared can’t be more appealing to Canadians IF they want us to visit their country. I think if the food situation were to be improved tons more people would visit that country. We felt the hotel lacked evening entertainment as well. What little there was is pretty good but really short time wise. Pretty much half an hour and that was it for the whole evening. Too bad the outdoor theatre isn’t utilized, especially for the kids show and leave the lobby bar for adults. The piano was covered up and never played. We travel south for the beach, hopefully good food and nightly entertainment like a show on a stage in a theatre and some lobby entertainment, piano, singer etc. We have agreed this will be our last trip to Cuba.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: What a nightmare experience!

The fact that travel companies and airlines are sending people here right now is criminal. We are long time guests of this resort and we spent a week here, 3 of the days with no water for toilets, handwashing, dish washing, showers or any kind of sanitation - an absolutely heath hazard. This resort has become full of black mold and cockroaches, it needs to be shut down and a conplete overhaul. Heartbreaking!

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Belle semaine

L'hôtel est très bien entretenu. La plage est magnifique et aussi entretenue. On peut y marcher des kilomètres. Le personnel est majoritairement sympathique et courtois. Notre chambre était propre et le mobilier très confortable. Nous avons eu de l'eau et suffisamment de papier de toilette. Le seul point négatif est la nourriture. Il y a beaucoup de variétés de viandes, mais il peut être difficile de passer une semaine complète sans consommer des légumes autres que de la ci [... read more]trouille, des concombres sans vinaigrette, des gumbos ou des patates. On doit arriver tôt au buffet pour y avoir un meilleur choix (ex. bacon le matin). Aussi, il y a beaucoup de mouches au buffet, mais pour nous ce n'est pas un problème, sauf lorsqu'il "attaque" notre visage. Petit conseil, apportez-vous des choses à manger (beurre de peanut, nutella, chips, barres tendres pour compenser la nourriture). Beaucoup de moustiques aussi en soirée, alors prévoir un chasse-moustique efficace. Malgré tout, c'est notre deuxième fois au Grand Muthu et nous y retournerons très probablement.
