Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great family friendly resort!

Long story short - this resort is definitely family friendly (lots of families with kids), very safe and very good location. There are 6 blocks on the resort. We stayed in block 6, very quiet, new, and bigger pools. I'd say this is the most family friendly block. Food was great. Would highly recommend to young families.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great food and service

Don`t normally go to 3 star resorts but took a chance on this place because of good reviews and low price. Only our room was 3 star; food, service, entertainment were all as good or better than 4 star resorts we have visited. Town is very quaint. Would definitely return.

Grand Decameron Panama: Excellent Value

This is my second visit to Panama's Royal Decameron and I have enjoyed myself both times. Staff always friendly and helpful and the rooms are always clean and tidy. There is good variety at the buffets and the al a carts have choices for everyone. A very hilly resort though so not recommended for those with restricted mobility, but because of its size it provides space for both families and singles to enjoy themselves. And the opening of the new airport, just minutes away, enables travellers to make the most of their holiday. (Note: this airport does not yet have any cafes or duty free)

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Friendly, bohemian resort but very loud.

Reminiscent of the 1960's Hippie Days, this town is a throw back to that generation. Easy to walk around town or hop on a bus to visit neighbouring towns and markets. Very relaxed place, but busy with weekend visitors from Guadalajara and other cities. The grounds of the resort are well maintained. The rooms are clean but basic and noise filters into the rooms. Beach is small but clean and gentle waters for swimming. Pools are small - did not use them. You get to know the fellow travellers as you sit in the bars by the ocean. Biggest con is the noise - the music and daily activities coordinators insist on blasting the speakers...Very annoying. Get rid of these speakers and it would be a great resort for people looking to relax.

The ground were amazing, park was perfect, all buildings were well maintained and freshly painted, everything was very clean, ponds were gorgeous. Service everywhere was first class, bars restaurants and main office. The festivals were well planned and a lot of fun. Staff worked very hard decorating the restaurants for the festivities and they looked spectacular right down to festive Mexican dress. The variety of Mexican food was over the top but the stews and any of the meats tended to be tough [... read more] and chewy. We've had mass produced food many times before but this Mexican food tended to be very bland and a lot of the sauces had little or no flavour and very salty. Mexico is a country that has a multitude of herbs and spices but few were used to fortify different flavours. We were placed in a room close to the childrens pool which ment no sleeping in or no afternoon naps. I did go to the office to see if we could be moved but was informed that moving to a different room would cost more money. We had a good week at the hotel and might book again in the future.

You get what you pay for. Food is very good, beach is excellent, rooms are older but in good shape and maintained. The service from the staff in bars, restaurants and housekeeping is excellent. Could use more internet locations.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Just great

Everything was fantastic. Grounds beach, rooms all very clean and well kept. The only issue was no use of the dangerous sea. Pools great. Staff were very very good. Food was plentiful and very nice. Had a great time.

The food selection and quality were great. The staff were always friendly and helpful. The grounds were kept immaculate day and night. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There were also lots of activities available right onsite.

Colourful, and very clean. November, many local people which made meals being catered to Mexican, but salad bar was amazing. Booking specialty restaurants a nightmare..had to be done at 7:00 A.M. only for two consecutive nights, so if staying longer than a week meant going often in order to book a table..then not even a guarantee you were able to get one. Overall good value. Family pool Area noisy, evening shows were amazing.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Average but could be great.

We chose this location because it was central to what we wanted to see and do, plus it was a very short commute to and from the airport. After all who wants to waste precious holiday time on a boring commute. The hotel and the facilities were well kept and all of the services were as advertised. The reviews that I had read were for the most part accurate. There were some staff that were exceptional, but there were some that were a little more than professional. The sound of construction going on during the day did take away some of the ambiance of being on the beach but the noise was tolerable. What keeps this resort from being at it's best can be illustrated by how the resort manager acted during our visit. While the staff were busy and attentive to the guests needs, the manager had absolutely no interaction with the guests. Instead he would ignore everyone around him and cut in line for food and beverage service. If you are going to improve service interacting with the guests even at a superficial level should be part of your job. This attitude has a trickle down effect in that the staff would think that they can do the same. When some staff were questioned about services they would act like it was an annoyance to answer or interact. While I do understand that as an employee you have been asked the same question a thousand times, as an guest, it's all new to me. As an example when requesting a towel at the beach on our first day all we got was an eye roll and the girl holding up a piece of paper and a card. No verbal interaction, just the eye roll. I had to ask her what she was showing me and then what I had to do. All of this because she was fed up with the tourists not being informed properly. Also some of the male staff use the hotel as a personal hunting ground for picking up women. If the resort wishes to expand and move up the star rankings, there should be more attention paid to managing the staff and discouraging this behavior. I would recommend this hotel if the price is a good deal but as a resort experience it is average at best.

The resort was great and the staff were so friendly and helpful; we wanted for nothing. If we wanted to just relax we were able or if we wanted to participate in the daily activities the Entertainment Crew were always patient, helpful and encouraging. The location of the resort is right on the hip strip for anything your looking for.

Airport arrival and departure were quick and very well handled, reception and getting your room upon arrival to the grounds was done quite fast despite the many people arriving at the same time. The grounds are kept spotless clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful, take your time communicating, they will bend over backwards to help. Many interes [... read more]ting vases and other features giving all sort of shapes and colors to add to the overall feel of the hotel, perfectly complimenting the wonderfully and equally colorful gardens. It is very easy to find one's way around the complex. The food, while alright was a little repetitive even after a few nights, rooms are basic, a little worn looking, the bed was comfortable, but who spends much time in the room anyhow. Hot water available most of the time. We felt very safe around the villa, never got any bad vibes. The system for reserving the a la cartes is annoying and rather poorly thought out. especially for late risers, fortunately we are up early, even at six AM people are lined up to wait for the seven AM opening to reserve, and you can only reserve for 2 a la cartes at a time. We did the Italian Piccolo which was very nice, enclosed and air conditioned. Try the octopus appetizer! It is great! We also did the Radizzo (Spelling?) which is the Brazillian, if you are a meatatarian then this is most certainly for you. Various meats are brought out to you, table by table, on long skewers by the cooks. There is chicken for the non-red meat eaters I am happy to say. There are many pools to choose from, some adult only. There are many bars to choose from too. Thursday nights are usually Mexican theme nights, so all except one restaurant serves only Mexican style food. Obviously this was spot on. The guacamole in any afternoon or evening buffet was superb! Regardless the only things that kept us from giving this five stars was the lack of real daily variety (let us see some shrimp and other seafood such as smoked salmon (lobster too??!!) on the buffet trays every now and then like we had at a 4-star in Cuba we frequent, and also some healthy desserts on the lunch and dinner buffets such as fruit, you are pretty much limited to sugary cakes and cookies which can sit pretty heavy in the stomachs of some people. Safes are small, must be rented, and there are no fridges in the room. Small niggling things yes, and not really enough to keep us from saying this hotel gives you a lot of bang for the buck! For the colors and warmth in many ways more then one this place gives, we would come back to it but we will probably try something else next year, there are so many other places to see in the world.

We have been to the Royal Decameron four times now. This last time there was a noticeable difference in the facility itself and the way things were done. Number one the paint colours had changed and not for the better. It was like the owners were trying to dull down the appearance. We also noticed that the grounds, pools and pool areas weren't as well kept. There was a huge change over in the staff, which included the managers. The old managers used to patrol the various areas of the hotel and y [... read more]ou could tell who they were by the colours of their uniforms, they wore red shirts. The old managers also used to join in on Mexican night, on Thursdays, by dressing up in traditional Mexican attire and dance with the staff throughout the restaurant area. I as a manager, I thought that was very professional of them as it shows that they are not better than any other staff and that they are not willing to make staff do something that they are not willing to do themselves. The staff seemed like they were on lock down, not as outgoing and friendly as they used to be. Also we noticed that instead of two cleaning staff for your rooms, there is only now one for the level. The only good thing that I can think to say is that the food was better. There were less choices, but much better choices. Over all I think we are done with the Royal Decameron in Bucerias...time for a change.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: A gem in a little village!

This resort is so clean and the staff very helpful and mannerly. The food is good and the adult pool section very peaceful. We originally were booked in a room with two double beds and when we asked for a room with a king size bed we were upgraded to a room near the adult pool and it was great. You get good service at the bars and the La Bamba restaurant was amazing. The beach was very sandy and the water was extremely warm. Their beach club over in the next village (a 5 minute bus ride which wa [... read more]s included) was great. They had their own restaurant and bar right there as well. The bathrooms near the beach and everywhere else on the resort were always clean. Walking in the village is very safe and you could always find a good deal. Tuesday night at the show in town has current movies and in English with no sub titles. The only negative comment would be the locals trying to sell you their goods on the beach, but once you said "no" they never tried to continue the "sell". It is a great place for families but it is also a great place if you are a couple.

Small, quaint, clean hotel. Hardworking & friendly staff. Great location & beach. For the price of this hotel people whine & cry need to have their head read! Enjoy Jamaica it is a beautiful country. Wife & I will be back.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Everything you could want in a Carribean resort.

This resort is rated as a three star however almost everything about it was a five star. Clean, courteous staff, excellent facilities, gorgeous beaches. The only piece that was not five star was the food. It was repetitive and many items were in short supply.

This is hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever travelled to. The Staff are so friendly. Always going out of their way to make you happy. The pools were always clean. The Dining Room was always so elegant for dinner time.

Overall okay resort but noisy and busy, specially at night. Don't lose your hotel bracelet or you'll pay a $50 fine. Food and bar are descent. Night shows are generally entertaining. Bring shampoo or you'll have to purchase one.
