Playa Costa Verde: Food was great, staff amazing

My daughter and I stayed a week. The trip was affordable.we had a great experience from start to finish, our flight was great staff were fabulous aboard. The hotel was clean and followed all covid protection measures. They were very accommodating for a 3 year old. Our maid kept our room clean every day and staff always attended to ask if I needed anything for my child. She absolutely loved the kods disco in the evening, and the food in both the buffet and the a la carts were very tasteful. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing!!!!

We stayed March 2nd-9th,2022. We had a wonderful time on this beautiful resort! Only 354 rooms so very intimate and easy to get around! The grounds are lush and well maintained and the rooms are big and clean! King size bed was a nice surprise and comfortable! The shower was awesome as well! All staff were friendly and attentive and the entertainment was lovely! The beach is rather rocky in front but a short walk leads you to beautiful swimming where the turquoise water meets the sand! Request the Teppanyaki table when booking for a fun, inclusive experience! There was no Vodka on the resort for our stay. Luckily someone had mentioned this prior to our arrival so we bought our own at duty free on the plane! There is a cute little beach and a salt water pool at the Spa where you can spend the day if you book. No food or bar fyi. There is a separate from the spa Massage Hut right on the ocean edge! Be sure to book a one hour full body massage and reflexology during your stay! We had Shelley and she was INCREDIBLE!!!! We met some really great people during our stay and rocked the Disco! So much fun!! Also would be a great spot for couples seeking some romance as there are many little spots to call your own! Great little Gem and we will definately be back!! Terri and Steve

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great spot.

The resort was very intimate and small so it wasn’t far to walk anywhere! Food was good, rooms were clean, service and staff were amazing! The gym was clean with a beautiful view of the ocean and spa. Spa massage and beach massage were incredible! The only improvement would be alcohol in the room and there was no vodka on site.:(

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: BEAUTIFUL RESORT, BUT BE AWARE!!!

This brand new resort is beautiful, however, unless you upgrade to Elite rooms, expect food to be questionable at best. Also, due to Cuba's economy, Cubans fill the resorts, up to 99% FULL of Cubans who receive money from Canadian or American family to eat and drink for a few days because their shelves are empty and exorbitant prices. They come with many children and family members. We were definitely the 1% at most. After talking to our Air Canada Vacation rep, we were moved to Elite "restau [... read more]rant" and food was improved. The employees of the resort are incredible, kind, and very helpful. Always a smile. Resort is extremely clean. Beach is beautiful, but jammed packed with locals. Also be aware of the black market exchange!! You will be expected to pay (in pesos) based on black market. Pay only in CANADIAN DOLLARS.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Very nice resort

The resort and hotel are very well maintained. The staff was excellent during our stay. The beach is quite nice as well. The only complaint was there was no beer in the room fridges which we are used to. When we asked for some it came warm.

Playa Costa Verde: Life After COVID

After finally securing Out of Country Medical coverage……which by the way….is difficult when you are old and have health issues…..we had a very lovely relaxing week in Cuba. Playa Costa Verde is a special place because of the staff, the natural protected mangrove, the birds, and spacious rooms. Considering the severe shortages of food etc in Cuba, it was a miracle that our buffet was as good as it was. I hope this continues even after the COVID rules relax, it works well, is safer, controls the portions better, and less waste. We would recommend this location for a relaxing couple weeks. Iberostar Coral Holguin: coral level at Iberostar selection Holguin Cuba

The hotel was excellent in all respects. The wait staff, housekeeping, bartenders, butlers and reception were so accommodating responding to any request with a smile. The massage professionals were fantastic. Better than many massages I have had at home in Toronto. The food at the various restaurants was excellent.

Playa Pesquero: Great resort 👌

Excellent resort with amazing staff. Bad reviews are from people who haven't been to Cuba I'm assuming. Best food I've had in cuba you can always find something to eat and the a la carts are super good! Beach was amazing with Crystal clear turquoise water. They did not have any vodka at all but I was there during the Russian/Ukraine ordeal. They have a great coffee bar with tons to choose from lattes and capichanios included. Things they need that are very helpful from Canada to use for gi [... read more]fts or tips, clothing anything used is great,toothpaste and brushes, they really need children's medicine they mentioned also. It seems like 60% of people were repeat customers and I can see why. This is a no brainer for a resort on a budget.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Wonderful Stay

Paradisus was a wonderful place to holiday . Although an older resort and taking into consideration of the last 2 years of Covid restrictions , our stay could not have been better . Staff, food, accommodation was all amazing . They are very conscious of Covid and have very good practices in place . We felt very safe . Will definitely return .

Playa Pesquero: Our favorite resort

This is our favorite resort so far. We have been few times already and plan to come many more. Great location, hotel, rooms, amenities, beach, pools, food, and many more. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Everything was excellent! Food was great, everything was clean, the staff was very friendly. Good covid measures were also in place. I would definitely recommend this resort. I don’t have any complaints.

This was our first time staying at this resort, been to Cuba before, and we were very impressed! The staff at Playa Pesquero are fantastic! their service and pride in their jobs shows. The resort itself is immense, the pools are very clean and spacious, and the restaurants are well staffed and supplied. The food was very good, and offered a nice variety. I would recommend this resort to anyone wanting to experience Cuba

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Excellent experience in resort

It was very beautiful and organized resort . we had Coral level which is more like VIP in resort and very good experience in our trip. I hadn't read what is different between Coral level and other part of hotel but as I figure out in resort it was separate butler for corals guests as they need anything in resort they provide on time and reach to guests in quick time which was great .it was private gazebo for double room in back yard front of pool . Also Coral level building was two stories level [... read more] but other section were three stories level and more units in apartment which makes more private and quiet area for Coral level . Room and facilities were excellent as we expected as five star hotels . Room service was amazing and cleaning staffs were so professional and neat. All personnel were so polite, professional, good trained and friendly . Food were in good quality and I think were sourced from local farms which I think in Cuba is more organic stuffs . But as I had experience with my other trip to caribbeans, quantity and variety wasn't comparable and was less . If I consider fairness, this trip was in covid situation and resort wasn't crowded, so maybe that could be a reason for limited of food variety . Pools and water were super clean . My only bad experience was about wifi internet which we had recharged it every Fife hours of usage with call butler or service desk ! and had to log in every time after turn on the phone ! So we had put our user name and password provided to us every time you want to going on phone ! But wifi was powerful every where in resort either far away beach ( second private beach of resort ). I liked pedal boat and katamara which was inflatable boat in resort service that gusts could enjoy of it free of charge with driver Totally , I was so happy to chose my trip in this resort and definitely recommended with high score.

Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

The resort is very large and spacious and well kept. The pools are clean. The food was one of the best I have had in Cuba and the drinks and the entire staff in the lobby bar were top notch! The rooms were very clean the beds and pillows very comfy. All staff were diligent in wearing masks at all times even the gardeners, which I thought was overkill when working outside in that heat! When I was at the resort Feb 14-21 it seemed to be filled with 95% Spanish speaking people who I believe mostly  [... read more]from Cuba. Unfortunately they were very rude and loud and constantly cut in line and did not wait their turn at the bars or the buffet and this was a very big turn off. They quite often let all family and friends in the line despite the fact that many others were waiting. The serving and bar staff could do more to regulate the lines and serve people in the order in which they appear. I would suggest this resort for sure however the last points really made the trip not as good as it should be as there was constant frustration.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Peaceful Paradise

Very quiet due to COVID 2 a La crates open - both very good Struggles with supplies due to COVID so no butter minimal bread but loads of fish, seafood and lobster tail in Coral New resort so all clean and fresh with staff constantly cleaning and polishing 4 girlfriends had a wonderful week

Excellent resort, super clean and grounds well maintained. Love that there are no tall buildings and find it very quaint. The staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Best resort staff we have ever encountered.

Playa Costa Verde: great place

solid 4 star hotel, staff is fantastic, location a bit remote.no broken floor tiles and everything as clean as it could be, food is like everywhere in Cuba but no complaints, large pool and ocean is a 5 minute walk but is part of the resort, i will certainly return

The staff are exceptional! Whether you booked Royal Service like we did or you used 'general' services... like we did... the staff and service are exceptional! COVID best practices are observed and you will feel safe! Currently having a few supply chain issues... but overall easy to adapt to!!! The grounds are immaculately! (The groundskeepers do their very best to mitigate guests...). If you wish to tip...and if you choose to use Loonies or Toonies... please take 'pristine Canadia [... read more]n bills' and offer to trade them for bills. Coins (such as our Loons & Toons) can't be exchanged in Cuba. AND Bills must be nearly new for locals to exchange. BTW: The staff will never let you know this. I got my info from an Ex-Pat and then confirmed it locally by a trusted person. I will book this location again!!

Playa Costa Verde has been absolutely the best hotel in holguin I have visited there more than 36 times an it continues to be my favourite the staff an service is amazing an all amenities are clean and well kept .
