Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Paradise

There does seem to be some Mixed reviews on this resort, but we had nothing to complain about. This resort is absolutely stunning. Beautiful rooms, amazing food similar to what we have had at secrets Akumal in Mexico, attentive staff, great shows, lovely beach lots of chairs and great drinks, and an amazing little cafe with snacks, ice cream, coffee and lattes. We had a very relaxing time and would highly recommend the resort.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Mostly "grand" vacation

Bus transport from the airport: I would NOT recommend - pay for the taxi. Our driver was reckless & aggressive which made for a very scary drive to the resort. Check in/out: Quick & easy, we asked for a room close to the beach and Christopher did a wonderful job making that happen. Grounds: The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained, the gardeners and staff are doing an amazing job! Transporation on the resort: The trolleys are an incredible way to get from one end of this res [... read more]ort to another and are frequent. I don't think we waited past 5-10 minutes ever. Room: We were in the main section of the resort; we did not upgrade. We were in building number 32. Our room was beautiful, and the maid service was impeccable. Our fridge was also stocked daily. One complaint is there is no way to latch the door in your room from the inside - no chain slide etc. (we had a friend travelling alone and she placed the Do No Disturb sign up and was taking a shower, the man restocking her fridge ignored the sign and entered - she had to holler at him asking him to come back later - this is why an interior latch is very much appreciated) On one of the days, we had already received both maid service and our fridge restock, we had been back to our room and upon leaving we put the do not disturb sign on our door. We headed back to the beach and realized we had forgotten something, when we returned there was someone banging on our door, when we asked what he was looking for and explained it was our room, he ignored us and walked away talking on his radio. It was very odd & suspicious. The beach: GORGEOUS!! The beach is beyond beautiful, and staff work hard making sure sargassum/seaweed is cleaned every morning. The only negative about the beach are the amount of cigarette buts people are leaving there - they were everywhere around the chairs & palapas. Pool: We did not utilize the pool. Food: The food was really good, the small buffet close to the beach had a more limited selection but was super convenient for both breakfast & lunch. The larger buffet did have a larger selection. a la carte: We booked 3 a la carte's during our 7 days, the first was El Gaucho, the steakhouse which is a buffet during the day. We are steak lovers. It was ok. Our order was partially cold, and the meat overcooked, even after asking for medium-rare. Our second was Focaccia - pizza/italian. It was good, but not great. Our third was Il Tartufo - this is HIGHLY recommended! It was amazing. We sat on the deck overlooking the water display. The food was so good, for our main dish we ordered the beef tenderloin, and it was amazing and full of flavor! You could cut it with a butter knife (which is all they have throughout the resort) OH and the tiramisu is absolutely divine!! Service was mostly excellent throughout the resort. Maytte in the main buffet was our most memorable, she was amazing and always greeted me with a smile & a hug. She was very attentive and refilled our water and wine glasses regularly. Milagros was also very attentive. Cappuccino coffee shop: Amazing! Be sure to visit! The coffee and treats are absolutely wonderful. They also have a beautiful white, long-legged bird that frequents the cafe and is apparently not opposed to a croissant treat. Cafe del mar: This is an amazing quieter area on the beach away from the main section. They also have amazing coffee, drinks and sheltered seating on the beach. Peacocks: Be prepared and maybe bring ear plugs. There are peacocks everywhere. The last few days of our trip we had one outside our room and the provided a few unwanted very early (5-5:30 AM) wake up calls. They are beautiful, but very noisy. On our second last day, my partner became ill with a gastro issue and spent the last full day stuck in our room. (The evening before, wait staff were seen pouring wine from glasses back into a bottle - went looking when they hadn't returned to provide drinks and were found drinking at a table themselves.) We also discovered that the "single use" plastic drinking glasses are also being taken from tables, the beach and garbage cans and being rinsed in water and reused. This is likely contributing to the number of people who are getting gastrointestinal issues. We also had a leak in our ceiling in the toilet room. Staff were quick to come stop the leak but also left a big mess of drywall type dust everywhere. I also became ill almost immediately after returning home. We heard others on the resort stating they had the same issue, but we also spoke with other travelers at the airport who stayed at different resorts, and they had the same issue.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing service and amazing beach!

The service at Esmeralda was the best I’ve seen at any all inclusive - top notch! The beach was also amazing, beautiful sand and comfortable ocean floor (no rocks everywhere where you had to wear sandals).

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Nice resort

We recently spent a week at this resort and had a relaxing time. The resort was very clean and not overly crowded. It is not a “party” type of place. We enjoyed the entertainment crew, lovely people who were always available to make our stay more enjoyable. We would have liked a bit more evening entertainment… this was limited and not overly exciting. Not a great swimming experience. The staff were not overly friendly and I felt like I was bothering them at times. We will not be returning to DR….. there are much better places to visit .

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Great Resort

This resort was excellent. I would highly recommend it. The staff was friendly and the grounds were clean and well maintained. The food was top notch, lots of variety. There was lots of entertainment. My only complaint is the plumbing system needs to be fixed. We were instructed by our travel rep on our first day not to flush our toilet paper. We were told to wrap and put in the garbage can and then flush for fear of a backup problem due to the plumbing system not being adequate That should n [... read more]ever be a problem if a hotel is rated 5 stars.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Had an amazing time at this resort

Newly renovated rooms are very nicely designed, functional and super clean. The grounds are very well maintained. The restaurants serve a wide variety of tasty food and the bars are really fun. In the Hideaway area, we had a truly fantastic experience with our attendant who took amazing care of our group of friends.

Riu Palace Macao: Excellent resort

This was our second time staying at this resort.We loved it enough to come back.It was even better this time.The menus at the a la cartes changed since last year so we thoroughly enjoyed some new dishes.Buffet is always good.The staff is superb.Any issues were dealt with quickly and pleasantly.The beach has many lounges with beautiful palm trees for shade.

Impressive Punta Cana: Very mid

room leaked moldy water from the roof. Resort staff didn’t speak much English. Got there on the first day and tried to make reservations right away but everything was booked. Paid for an all inclusive vacation and couldn’t eat and more than half the restaurants. Beach was also dirty. Not satisfied

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Punta Cana: Good resort but with certain issues

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: disappointed

I wish I could say it was amazing, but unfortunately it was disappointing Punta Cana is not the same anymore its charm is lost it is crowded , the locals do not look happy like before, everything is so expensive talking about the hotel , it is huge , it lacks stuff, the buffet restaurants are always full, there is a line up to get in starting for breakfast. I used to help myself for everything, cleaning the table, finding cutlery and napkin, forget getting coffee from a waiter, if you find [... read more] a cup you get it yourself from the counter. food, oh God .... the same thing every day... every day.. try to get a spot in the A La cart restaurants, you have to reserve it yourself on your phone if the internet works in your room you will get a message saying "sorry , try again , the place is full" getting a chair near the pool ... is a joke, I had to wake up at 7 in the morning to reserve a chair by putting my towels on them. the room was big in building 2 , had a problem with the toilet flush which did not work, the internet did not work , but the towels were very clean and also the bed sheets. for a hotel that big , the pool is very small As for the hotel stuff I have to say they are sad looking .... nobody smiles nobody says hello, weird if you want a decent coffee, you will be disappointed, forget the coffee shop near the lobby will I return to this hotel? NO

Ocean Blue and Sand: Not enough chairs and umbrellas !!

Not enough umbrellas and chairs. People were fighting over them. Security had to be called to assist. Folks were stealing other people’s towels and throwing their beach bags off their chairs and claiming them as their own.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Everything was awesome

This was our first time in Punta Cana and did a lot of research to choose the hotel. All my research was worth it because ocean blue and sand was amazing. The grounds, the lobby, the pool area, the beach, our room, the restaurants, the bars, were all better than we expected. We opted for the privilege upgrade, so our experience was based on that, Our building was right by the ocean and pool, which meant it was about a 10 minute walk to the restaurants and lobby. There were carts that drove arou [... read more]nd constantly if you didn’t want to walk. The grounds were meticulously kept and Pinky the flamingo was always a treat to see. Everything was very clean. We had fun in the bowling alley and games room. My son was thrilled that he could watch March madness in the sports bar. The only thing that was not good at all was the casino. The slots were about 30 years old. there was a blackjack table and a roulette table. Although it appeared to be above board, nobody ever won at blackjack.(suspicious). There was no cash out ticket so you couldn’t change machines.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

Enjoyed the resort great food, grounds and pools were amazing especially lazy river with swim up bar, all staff were great and very friendly and helpful. Had ground level room and even received bar service while sitting outside our room

Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: FANTASTIC RESORT

WE HAD A SWIM OUT SUITE, PREFFERED CLUB, THIS RESORT WAS AMAZING, FOOD WAS GREAT , STAFF WERE ALL VERY NICE, WE HAD OUR MINI FRIDGE STOCKED DAILY WITH CANNED BEER AND SNACKS IN OUR ROOM , ON THE BEACH WE HAD BOTTLED CORONA, HEINEKEN AND EL PRESIDENTE, GREAT PINA COLADAS, I WOULD DEFINETELY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESORT, WATER PARK WAS FUN AND LAZY RIVER, OUR PERSONAL BUTLER ERIBELTO WAS THE BEST HE MADE SURE DAILY THAT WE WERE TAKEN CARE OF FANTASTIC JOB, THE BEACH WAS CLEAN AND THE WATER CAN GE [... read more]T A BIT ROUGH BUT IT WAS FUN JUMPING WAVES. Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Excellent Resort

We decided to go on a 4 day three night adventure sponutanuously and ended up choosing the Dreams Cap Cana. Beautiful resort top to bottom . We stayed in one of there swim up pools from our room. Absolutely loved dipping in the morning to start the day. Hotel is gorgeous, rooms beyond expectation. Front desk service was superb. Very professional and polite. The only downside is i found the bar service waitress/waiters did not come around enough not sure if they did not have enough staf [... read more]f and were very slow. They do need to improve that part of their service. Food was excellent. Their beach is not the best as it is a little rocky but I think they are working on that. Beyond the Dreams resort the beach and sand was great, white soft sand and beach was beautiful. I would give this resort definitely give this place a 4 plus and would recommend it.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Great Resort

This is a huge resort with many different amenities that you can enjoy. We were at this resort 5 years ago and the resort has changed immensely on the adults only side. It's very busy and lots of activities. You have to get up at 6am to get a chair. We had a hard time exchanging towels on a daily basis, either they weren't open or ran out of clean towels. We stayed at El Beso side, there were lots of foam days at the pool, making the pool feel slimey even though the pools were cleaned daily.  [... read more]The food was OK, I am not s buffet person so prefer to eat at the a la carte.. Reservation are needed for 3 restaurants and the reservations need to be done through an app. The Blue Lagoon & Steakhouse were good. We didn't do Mexican but there was always a big line up. The piano bar in the main lobby Ocean El Faro was amazing. The resort has so many things to offer that you wont be disappointed.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Excellent Resort

Buildings, property and pools very well maintained. Delicious food with a variety that will thrill your taste buds! Gorgeous beach. High quality golf course that entertains and challenges and a well appointed clubhouse for post or pre-round meals and drinks. Impressive attention to detail with beautifully furnished lobbies that are comfortable and perfect to enjoy an espresso or cocktail.

Zel Punta Cana - All Suites: Surpassed Expectations!

Zel is such a beautiful resort! My family thoroughly enjoyed our weeklong stay and I would highly recommend a swim out suite. The food was delicious and there was an extensive availability of drink options. All of the staff were so friendly and extremely attentive! Would love to go back!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Pleasantly surprised!

My wife and I recently stayed at the Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda in Punta Cana, and I have to say, it’s a great choice for anyone looking for a relaxing beachfront getaway. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff are generally friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Overall, we had a wonderful time soaking up the sun and taking in the beautiful surroundings, and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back again. It’s a solid spot for a laid-back vacation, despite a few minor hiccups with service.
