Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great place!!

Loved all of it!! The people who work there are awesome, very friendly! The rooms were a bit dated, but everything worked and they were clean. The food was good and there was lots of choice. The pool was great and the beach was fantastic. The shows they put on every night were amazing! There was always some type of entertainment going on at the pool. The gardens were very well taken care of and the gardeners are very friendly and will make you cool hats. I would definitely return to this resort  [... read more]and would 100% recommend it. Sol Turquesa Beach: Memories Feb3-9

We had an amazing time. The grounds were so lush. Lots of areas to sit around the resort, the pool and chairs always available at the beach. The beach was amazing and had great snorkelling. Lobby was a great atmosphere at night especially the piano. Rooms very clean and bar always stocked with water. Food was good. Everyone was friendly on the resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Value

The resort is showing some wear and tear but overall it was very clean and we had a great time. The beach is a 12 out of 10. The food was very good and the staff were great too. We did not spend any time at the pool so we cannot comment on that since the beach was so spectacular. Some drinks lacking for example no tomato juice for a bloody mary. Sol Turquesa Beach: You won't be disappointed staying here !

Just got home from a wonderful week away at Memories Holguin. I can now understand why there are so many repeat clients year after year. The staff was beyond amazing, helpful, always smiling or asking if your enjoying yourself. It was 100% genuine. The food was good, a couple of dinners were even amazing. It was my 5th time to Cuba and I've never used amazing, when it comes to describing food in Cuba before. The resort was very clean, house keeping was incredible and helpful. Yes, there a [... read more]re a lot of stairs from pool to pool, but there are also golf charts that will take you around the resort 24 hrs a day, always with a smile and a wee joke or two. We had a wee issue and the the front desk was very co-opertive to sort it out without a hassle. Overall, I would return as they staff does treat you as part of the Memories family.

Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing resort

My hotel room was good, always cleaned , the bartenders were very busy but tried to get drinks out as quick as the could. Food was okay, I ate something that made me sick for two days . I would return. Flight delay and sunwing not updating pickup from hotel was by far the worst thing happened

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Won’t go back

Lots of standing water. Lots of mosquitos and bites. Food was plain and often cold. The warming trays were lit but no heat came from the bulbs. 2 out of 6 of our group became violently ill with vomiting and diarrhea. At first we thought it was a virus but after discussing symptoms with doctor after getting home, it looks like ecoli. Kitchen staff were observed shaking hands, accepting money and handling food with hands, all without hand washing. Most staff were pleasant. Difficult to get [... read more] seats at beach unless you get there by 9 am or pay for diamond club. Special Kudos to David the pool bartender who was kind and very efficient.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great experience

I was very leary of going to cuba in the first place because im a picky eater but all in all it was an amazing trip great food the people working at this resort were fantastic always happy and helpful they had alot to offer with activities so at the end of the day no complaints and would definately go back to cuba as well as the grand memories resort.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: One thing after another

We arrived at the resort Jan 31/20. Check in was quick and bell boy promptly brought us to our room. We were starving and didn't have much time to get dinner.. We left our luggage on the beds and headed to the buffet. We might have been gone for 1.5 hrs. When we returned and started to unpack we noticed 350 dollars was missing from our suit case where wallet was kept.. The bell boy was the only person that seen the wallet in the suitcase while he waited for his tip.. The following morning I spoke to Andy from customer relations and also sunwing rep onsite.. Told them about the missing money from our room and I was asked if I wanted them to call the police which could take days if not weeks for them to investigate or let the hotel do their own investigation... We were fine with the hotel checking things out as they seems quite concerned. The resort requested a report on our door to see how many times a card was swiped as we had just went to eat and right back.. A card was swiped 3 times but only twice from us... :( Every morning I would talk to Andy and ask him if there were any updates... Never was. Then on Thursday (day before we were vimjnv back home) he told us there was nothing to update us with as we didn't want the police called.. WOW!!! He more or less made us feel like it would be a waste of time, that's why we didn't. He asked us if the bell boy showed us the safe and explained his it worked, he didn't.. On the Saturday my friend took 100 dollars out of the bank in the resort on her debit card.. On Monday the bank took it out again!! Confronted the teller and Sunwing rep and was told it happens and you should get a refund in a few weeks... Excuse me but this is theft.. Sunwing should be telling travelers this happens often in Cuba, as we were told. We had a dinner booked at the Italian restaurant and just after we ordered we saw a cockroach on the wall... Our meal was brought quite quickly and just when we began to eat another cockroach scurried across the table. That was enough to turn off all of our appetites. Another evening in the buffet we saw more cock roaches near the hot plates... I actually let a gentleman in a suit working at the buffet know... He was aware of bugs and said they have been having a problem lately with cock roaches and haven't been able to spray inside the buffet.. I really felt bad planning this girls trip to a resort in Cuba I personally recommended... From the time we got there till we left it was an incident after an incident. 2 of the girls swear they will never go back to Cuba... I go there twice a year and Mexico twice a year... I enjoy Cuba as usually I feel safe and the people are wonderful.. I'm seriously reconsidering my travel choices.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: A no no resort

Rooms: outdated, dirty and dusty walls, smelly bathroom, no new sheets for 10 days, we never received the crib for our baby, TV wasn't working. Buffet: Cockroaches all around. Even though meals were tastier than other resorts we 've been, they offered the same lunch and dinner during our stay. Many people got sick. They try hard though. The waitresses try hard to offer a good service. People who worked there were very nice and friendly. Overall, i would not recommend going to that resort.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

Liked food staff beach pool Felt very safe. Walked on beach & sidewalks outside hotel. All nice & clean. Could have used a extra mattress on cot!!! Only upset with Sunwing not being there for us a few times☹️

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Friendly Staff

We absolutely loved the staff at this resort. Super friendly, and helpful. The food was quite good and always enough of everything. I did take Mrs. Dash to add a little extra flavour to a couple items. Our first room wasn't up to what a "superior room" should be. Smelly, leaking ceiling, and bugs, not happy. We were given a better quality room on the second night, after the ceiling leak was really bad, but had to move ourselves ( at midnight). The beaches are the best!! Memories Caribe Beach Resort: NO DOORS IN THE BATHROOM

We were beyond shocked to see a resort built without privacy in the bathroom area. I was travelling with my brother so it was abit awkard. they did give us a shower curtain to put up - but no privacy for 2 weeks. The resort needs some tender loving care. it grew on us. the beach is most amazing so we overlooked the other stuff. the staff were amazing also. once they got to know you - so sweet. would definatly go back to the area but will try a different resort. Sol Turquesa Beach: Disappointing Resort

Although we chose this resort because of the beautiful photos posted, we were sorely disappointed once we arrived. The rooms are old and sparse of amenities. Our pillows were not actual pillows, but rolled up foam. There was only hot water for showers on 2 days. Power outages were daily. Leaving us with no options for exchanging money until restored. This translated into poor service at times because we didn’t have pesos showing. Servers would skip to people showing tips. Also a [... read more]ffecting pool parties by cutting music and dinners in the dark almost daily. Features such as the grand waterfall were non functioning. Toilets in public areas had either no toilet seat or no privacy door. Often no toilet paper. Pool bars ran out of rum on some days. Pool towels were often not available for exchange. No coffee or cups in the room although we had a coffee maker. Sling chairs on balcony had no sling, simply a frame with no seating. Fridge in room wouldn’t close properly to keep water provided chilled. Only water provided, no soft drinks or beer which is pretty customary. Television was an old, small box set that was very staticky. Clock in room was unusable as an alarm because of power outages in the night. Extra blankets in closet were unusable from the musty smell. Bugs were swarming and biting to point where I had to go to the on-site clinic to get a needle and some cream to soothe the bites. They were spraying for the bugs, but it was ineffective. People were walking around, like me, scratching and itchy. When we asked to change rooms to something more suitable, we were asked to pay another sum of money as an upgrade. We refused as there were so many issues outside of the room we opted to not risk more money on further disappointment. Although we have been to Cuba many times, have loved it, and will return. We will not return to or recommend this resort at all.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazon resort

The food was so good for Cuba! Fresh meat grill and rice stations. Beach was a 10! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Beer and pop and water restocked daily. The grounds were beautiful! The drive there was great. 90 mins of driving through little Cubans towns. We will go back again Foresure.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great Beach

The resort was nice. We found it a bit crowded for us. The food at the buffet was decent. The coffee bar was the best!! The room was disappointing and dated and definitely needed some TLC. The staff at the resort were incredible. Beach was beautiful. We enjoyed different excursions and spending time in Varadero. If you’re planning a visit be sure to spend some time off the resort. It’s safe and pretty incredible. Next time we visit Cuba we’ll try a different resort. One that’s a bit sm [... read more]aller and one with an ocean view.

Grand Memories Varadero: Beautiful resort but needs some attention to customer service

We have been to Cuba many times but this is the first time that we’ve had to wait in lines so much: lines lines lines. I surprised my wife with this trip for her 50th birthday and Don’t get me wrong, this is a beautiful resort with two of the most beautiful pools to enjoy and many good things but just be prepared to wait in line....Only one server at the pool bar our first day meant we had to wait in line all day for drinks. Only one buffet for a couple thousand people will mean that you w [... read more]ait in line to get in for breakfast, lunch and supper. And then once you get in you might wait as long as we did for half an hour at the food station just to get a fried omelette. (It’s evident there was a second Buffet next-door that used to be used and now it’s just sitting empty - the least they could do is open up that dining room that’s literally right next-door, to serve their customers more expediently) I am a very patient laid back person but I even found myself getting very frustrated. Everything else as far as we were concerned was up to Cuban standards and again the pools were amazing and sun chairs were always available. Usually I have to get up early to get a chair but that is not the case here and I give them credit for that. The beach is the only place that fills up quickly. Only other thing I’d strongly suggest is that they provide a regular service shuttle with clear marked stopping stations to get on and off because there’s a lot of walking! The night we arrived was later and we had to drag our suitcases for what seemed like a kilometre or two because we didn’t know where we were going and had no one to take us until finally we found a gentlemen who offered to help. They need a regular shuttle for this large resort rather than just hoping to catch the odd cart that happens to come by. With only one snack bar by the second pool towards the beach you’ll be walking a long way to enjoy that during the day, especially if you’re staying in the upper pool area. They should definitely open a snack bar at the upper pool as well. And again if you want to enjoy the barbeque restaurant down by the beach you’ve got a long way to go to get there. It’s worth it just be prepared to do a lot of walking. Especially if your a parent with young kids or elderly this could be a serious concern. Having said all this we would still definitely go back again but be more prepared to waste hours on...on all the walking and waiting....in Lines lines lines! They have got to address this and then it would be worth another star as far as I’m concerned because everything else is great including some great band and musical entertainment they bring in outside of the shows.

Memories Paraiso: Ended at the clinic, I got bitten by bugs in my bed

Its so sad the this resort boast such gorgeous beaches. However it seems that the staff has checked out or are too exhausted such as the 24 hr pizza joint which has 1 person manning the pizza bar for 24 hrs. Its a real shame that they have inexperienced cooks because although they had lovely seafood for grilling, they didn't know how to grill the food n everything would end up tasting the same, burnt( the burnt food would crust and then they'd add oil or water to make it steam) Check for bed b [... read more]ugs and check your pillows, mine smelled like vomit and when I complaint, they said they were new. Swimming pool ran out of alcohol at a foam party. At 1 point ppl stopped specifying n saying just give me whatever you got to the bartenders. Do not buy the poutine at the Pueblo or market place outside the resort they will charge $5. Cucc about 7 canadian dollars for 12 mcain fries n a bit of gravy n grated cheese. I could go on, but I won't. I am never going back to Cuba, too bad, because I loved the beach. On day 5 I was ready to come home and when I landed I was so grateful, I've never been so happy to come back home from a vacation. True story.

The first night there, we were hungry as it was past 9pm. We settled our stuff in the 2 rooms and went for supper. Upon return, our travel companions had their suitcase broken I to and $350 was stolen. Even though the resort acknowledged that the room had clearly been entered by an unknown key, they had no insurance to cover the loss. Our room was full of mold, I coughed all the first night. When checking my bank account on the Tuesday; there was another withdrawl for the same amount. They took out 2 payments. I tried to have it corrected but noone from the resort could get through to anyone in the bank. The food was not the best, but the people were doing their best. The wifi I paid for worked for 20min. I paid for 3hrs. The lobby by the little store was overwhelmingly putrid from the smell of garbage. I will ot be going back their.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fantastic for the price ..!!

Every person that I met, that worked there was fantastic.. really relaxing, happy place The pool is awesome. The beach is amazing. The food was great. Great beer ..!!! Very standard, dated rooms, pretty much what I expected. Clean.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Ok at best

Rooms were a good size, bed was too hard. Food was ok but not a lot of options. Bathrooms were hit and miss, some had toilet seats some didn't as well with the toilet paper. My fiance also had her phone case stolen out of our safe with her credit card, id's and bank card in it. Other than that weather was great, most staff was friendly people were good. Beach was amazing.
