Grand Palladium Kantenah: Great place for kids!!

This is a huge resort and we were pleased to have access to all branches of the Palladium. Lots of restaurants and places to go, very professional, food was good. We had no problem upgrading our room. Everything was easy. Would definitely go back!

Excellence Riviera Cancun: Amazing Honeymoon vacation!

My husband and I stayed here for our Honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing!! Food is great, restaurants are amazing, staff is unbelievable and rooms are clean! Best vacation we have had yet! Great!!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: The perfect relaxing escape

We were at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach from Jan 4 to 11 2015. We loved it! It was our first trip with our 10 month-old. The facilities were all there to accomodate our little one. High chairs, crib, baby pool. And very helpful staff all around the resort. The beach could have been better since it was very windy all week. But thats not controlable! All over, a perfect relaxing escape!

Dreams Riviera Cancun: Great time at great resort!

We have stayed in this resort in mid December for a week, and had great time. Friendly staff, swimming pools, and food were amazing. Beach was good too, however seaweeds and windy weather did not let us enjoy the ocean as much. Entertainment was OK. Good size resort for families. Overall great vacation.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: An average resort

The hotel was good,service was great.The room we had was clean and made up everyday.The grounds were well manicured.The resort is large and you needed transportation to get around if you were tired walking.The resort is spread out.The beach had sea weed all over and rocky areas so you had to be carefull going in.It was very windy the time we were there.The food was the same almost everyday.We went to 3 alacartes and enjoyed only one of them.We did not like that at lunch time the main buffet area [... read more] was closed and you had to go eat at the one near the beach.It was far from the main lobby.The staff is very friendly and helpful.We found the swimming pools were very cool to swim in.There is a lot of walking to get to the beach or to the lobby were the resteraunts are located.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Very Nice resort on the whole

Spent a week at Paradisus using the Family Concierge package, which was overall very pleasant. A few observations: Pros: Beautiful resort. Nice setting and kept in very good order. Family Concierge pool is nice, only heated pool in the resort. Restaurants are stunning, décor and finish would not be out of place in any major city. Service on the whole is excellent. A couple of bad experiences but the staff generally have their patience tried by some very demanding customers, so I will cut them s [... read more]ome slack I will mention Adrian, who was the poolside waiter. He works tirelessly in the heat all day and provides excellent service. Cons: Very limited pool seating. 10 cabanas, 3 are adjacent to the pool. These generally are taken by 6am. By 9am all the loungers are taken. People hang on to them all day; so you could have a Family Concierge package and no seat by the pool. Poor design. Buffet is chaotic. Design of the footflow needs looking at. there is no flow to the people and therefore its a bit of an ordeal getting your food. generally its cold by the time you get back to your table because of all the waiting in line. Room service is incredibly slow, and usually gets the order wrong. The reason is that they have to wheel the food across the whole resort, however that isn't much of a consolation when you wait one hour for your food and its cold and the order is more than often incorrect. Although the restaurants looked beautiful, as did the food, I would not say that the food was outstanding; on the whole it was good, 7/10 Wifi terrible. When we saw the room had its own wireless router, we were excited to think that the resort would have excellent signals throughout. Unfortunately, its the opposite. Very flaky wireless network access everywhere. This needs improving. Although its all-inclusive, a couple of items are not included strangely. You can order a triple Belvedere for free, but a Perrier is $3. Some wines are free, but Pinot Grigio is not, for example. TV - Very few channels, and not very good signal. Pool security - in the Concierge pool there were a couple of non-concierge guests sneaking in. Security should have a wrist band check to avoid this. The 'suite' rooms are not really suites. They are two queens with a balcony and fridge. A proper suite would be bigger and have more facilities. A kitchenette is unnecessary but a bigger room with separated bedrooms would be expected. Clientele - not the resorts fault, but I was disappointed with some of the other guests, because they were very demanding and not very polite towards the staff at the resort. The staff work exceptionally hard to provide a good service, so I didn't like that. Generally it was Americans but not always.

Allegro Playacar: Great Vacation

Hotel has great staff, it is an older hotel so if you can't handle all the amenities a older hotel can offer you will not have fun. Small and Peaceful. Very central on playacar. Food was good is you are ok with new things. Hard for my child to find anything acceptable to eat.

Viva Maya by Wyndham: fun and friendy resort!

Hotel Staff were great; extremely friendly, down to earth and helpful. Rooms were clean and modern - no issues. Buffet food was ok, restaurants were better. Entertainment outside of resort was easily accessible. We were a group of 4 (2 - 30 year old couples) found there to be quite a mix of ages and nationalities which we really enjoyed. Sunwing travel portion was not the greatest.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Amazing stay at the Blue Bay

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda in December 2014. The hotel grounds were beautiful, staff were excellent, food was great. Before going, we were concerned about some of the reviews, which were negative about the beach. While it didn't compare to Varadero beach, it was fine. The resort is well situated, 10 mins away from Playa Del Carmen, which is easily accessible by shuttle or taxi. Barcelo Maya Tropical: Paradise

Everything was amazing. The grounds were a tropical paradise and the food was very delicious and so much variety. The room was very clean and comfortable. The service was over the top friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back .

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Fantastic Place, Fantastic Price !

With not much else to compare to other than a "5 Star" resort in Cuba from a few years ago we were very impressed. We went to this resort just two weeks or so after their 'soft opening' and arrived the day after their official Grand opening. As it is a brand new resort it still has some things that need to be finished, and some things that need to be fixed, but they are shortening their to-do list on a daily basis. The room we got was incredible...very luxurious although it also has a small list [... read more] of things that needed to be tweaked and repaired to make it perfect, there was nothing we found that was a deal breaker. The staff everywhere on the resort were very friendly and helpful, and the food was tremendous at all of the restaurants and the buffet as well. Thankfully all of the guest rooms are not yet complete so they couldn't fill it to capacity which meant lots of room around the pools during the day and generally easy to find somewhere to sit and lounge before, during, and after the evening shows. All in all we were very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort.

Riu Playacar: Great Time

Nice resort. Smaller than most, but great service and access to Rio Tequila and others if want more action. Great beach access. Can walk easily into Playa Del Carmen. Buffet food was excellent. Lots of variety and high quality.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Still among the best.

We travel to 5-star resorts annually for the past 20 years. This is our second time at this resort in three years. Mostly everything is still top notch and we'll continue to rank it among the best resorts we've ever visited. Food quality has come down though. The buffet is not as tasty, and the Japanese restaurant has gone from bad to disgusting. Also, DO NOT under any circumstance be misled into agreeing to sit through a sales pitch for their travel club. They tell you it'll take 1.5 hours when [... read more] in fact it runs as long as 3 hours for most. Even if you have time to waste, it's not worth the romantic dinner or the spa voucher. The spa is incredible and definitely worth a visit to, so just pay for your own treatments and save yourself the obnoxious sale pitch. Finally, I would greatly urge everyone to book a swim-out room. The pool is heated, semi-private, and a great amenity to enjoy in the evenings!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Huge resort!

We stayed at this resort dec 31-jan 6, 2015. Overall it was a nice resort, lack of a beach was disappointing, but the shuttle to the Tulum beach was fast. The Tulum beach was nice, lots of beach chairs, but also lots of seaweed. Coba pools were great, but sadly lacking in the beach chairs, if you like to sleep in on your vacation, don't plan on getting a chair! However, the food and service was Outstanding!! For once on an all inclusive (and we've done at least 10), we never got tired of the foo [... read more]d! And there was flavor! We did 2 a la carte, and highly recommend Gran Tortuga! The Brazilian restaurant was great, and if you leave hungry, it isn't for their lack of trying! Jose at the buffet at Coba (breakfast and lunch) was great! After one day he remembered our drink order and made sure we were always taken care of. Don't waste your money upgrading to Golden Club, we didn't find any real benefits (unlike Catalonia resorts). Overall, a good vacation, but we will try somewhere else next year.

Grand Palladium Colonial: Amazing for kids, food !!

We loved it, nature wise, eco frinedly to way we like it and the food was amazing. Staff very usefull and friendly !!A bit far from Airport, great overall everything. We didnt have enought time to do everything on the resort..

Grand Sunset Princess: Beatiful Resort

The resort was beautiful..the grounds were always clean, the workers always friendly, the food was amazing, the pool was great. Big resort so alot of walking. Only disadvantage is there was no WIFI..you could purchase it but it only would do one device. The ocean was warm but had alot of weeds in it..kids loved the beach volleyball and the drinks were really good also.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Wonderful food and service!!!!

We are a family of 5 that recently stay at the Gran Porto Real on the Mayan Riviera and loved every minute!!! We were there over the Christmas Holidays and everyone there made us feel right at home. The staff are extremely courteous and obliging, always looking out for you. Our rooms were very clean. We had two rooms and had trouble trying to open the adjoining door, but staff never gave up until they finally got the right key to open it up, joking with us along the way. The food was well prepar [... read more]ed and well presented with much variety and a 24 hr. snack bar that was well stocked with food, desserts, wine, liquors, coffee and cold pop. This was great for my kids who made numerous midnight snack trips down there. They have a lot of activities and really engage their guests as well as nightly performances of various music from Mexican, mariachi to current music. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star is because there was seaweed along the beach portion near the pool area which made it a bit smelly, so we stayed on the other side of the beach which was o.k. They need to clean that up and remove the sand bags that are there then it will be a.o.k. I tip my hat off to our agent Jen who was able to put this trip all together for us on such short notice when no one else could!!! :)

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: great resort

Excellent value for the money paid. We were upgraded upon check in at no additional cost. Only downside is this is four resorts in one, and the size is a bit overwhelming. Made getting around a bit tough at times. Overall great resort tho, and spectacular golf course!

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Nice resort

Everything was beautiful, service was great food was great the only thing I would say this resort could improve on would be there entertainment throughout the day and evening, the resort was dead after dinner time

Catalonia Yucatan: Good resort, great location

Catalonia Yucatan is at a great, clean, secure location in Puerto Aventuras close to Playa del Carmen and near lots of great excursions. Food was good (esp al la cart, 4 times in seven days), although the buffet will get a little boring if you eat there a lot I imagine. Bars were good with lots of selection. Beach was small and not great, but if you do a lot of excursions like us that is not really a problem. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
