Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: resort is under major renovations

great beach, the problem is this resort is currently under major renovations, would not stay here until next fall when the resort should be fully renovated. The staff are excellent , great beach and nice pool (only one available at this time). I was not impressed with the construction , paid for a penthouse suite they are not available at all.....

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort!

The Grand Bahia Principe Coba is a very large and beautiful resort. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the food was excellent and the staff were extremely hardworking and friendly. They were always busy cleaning and assisting the guests. The resort was at full capacity when we were there, and a crib was not available for our grandson until the third day. That is really the only complaint we have.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great Vacation!

My son and I had very nice stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum, wanted to be close to beach. Our room was a little dated but kept very clean and fridge stocked daily. The grounds were beautiful and enjoyed the beach most days, did have to get chairs before 10 am thou. The staff were very friendly. We ate all of our meals at buffet, as my son is very big eater, we were never disappointed, but we're not expecting any more. The shows we attended were ok, have seen much better. Our travel arrangements went off perfectly, no issues with Air Canada Vacations. Would consider returning

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Phenomenal

This was our second time at the Paradisus and it was just as good as the first. The grounds, the food the service is out of this world. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are clean and comfortable! Love love love .

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: amazing resort

Resort was beautiful. Food was delicious. People were amazing. Unfortunately my daughter was seriously hurt on the resort and the hotel did nothing! I feel they should have been concerned and compensated us in some way for the two nights we lost in hospital.

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya: Amazing !!

My husband & I had a great stay at the Hard Rock Riviera Mayan, Heaven side. Beaches are not plentiful which is the only downfall. Staff very helpful & great, rooms & pools were also great! No waiting at restaurants. Room service when needed great! One of our better trips. Try & stay in buildings 2 or 3 which are closer to pool area. Building one is a far walk.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Awesome resort

This was our third trip to the Mayan Riviera but first stay at the Valentin Imperial. We absolutely loved the resort. The grounds, pool area, lazy river, beach, food and service were superior. We would definitely not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone travelling to the Mayan. We plan on returning.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Entertaining week!

The hotel grounds were quiet and spread out. This made it feel less crowded. The rooms were a good size and very quiet. The snorkelling was amazing and the beach was quite nice. We travelled with our adult children. Our group of seven had a great time. There was lots of activities to keep the kids busy. Volleyball, soccer tournaments made it easy to meet new people. Food was not the best.....they could use improvement in this department. Overall we had an enjoyable time and would visit again.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Room infested with Ants

The exterior grounds of this resort was certainly very well kept and beautiful. However, if you are travelling with young children definitely not recommended. The resort is interconnected as 4 hotels together and to get anywhere you need to wait for Trams to take you to the Restaurants or pools. None of the facilities were stroller friendly. All parents had to carry their strollers over bridges. When riding the Trams, the drivers drove dangerously and recklessly. Worst part was our room was infe [... read more]sted with ants which I have videos and pictures documenting. Our complaints were ignored. Travelling with 1.5, 4 and 7 year old, we barely slept with the fear of ants in our bed (Room 6127). Only thing they did was change our sheets everyday and claim they sprayed some insecticide... Which was even worse not knowing what kind of chemical was used. But every day we found ants crawling on the sofa, chairs or luggage. We pretty much moved out all the chairs and stools to the balcony and sealed up our luggage the entire time. We did a test and put a little piece of apple on the couch and within minutes, the ants came swarming. My 3 children and 1 had rashes and bites everywhere. My son would wake up with new bites. We pretty much drank a bottle of Benydrl in the 7 days. The shower had a used bandaid in the corner of the shower the day we got there and the entire 7 days it was still there. This tells me they don't even clean the showers. The apparently clean sheets smelled like clothes left in a washer for days and forgot to dry. The buffets in all the restaurants were poor quality. Staff was clearly over-worked and underpaid as no one seemed pleasant. One positive of the resort was one of the a la carte, particularly Ribs and More was finally of good quality and tasteful. Excellent steak. Most servers had horrible attitude. Beach was horribly rocky and can't even walk on most parts bare feet. The resort we stayed at should not be called White Sands but Rocky Sand. So disappointed. Another positive was very nice kids pool but unless you booked a room close to the Colonial side, you can expect to take 30 min to get there and if you forgot sunscreen or anything in your room. Too bad for you! Would never recommend this resort to anyone. Calling this resort 5 star is absurd. 3 star at the most.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal review

Mine & my familys stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal was amazing. This vacation was the true definition of Paradise. Unfortunately, there was an accident that occurred on the resort with one of the vehicles that pick up & drop off passengers. I spent 2 nights in the hospital recovering from a sprained ankle & surgery on my wrist. This one specific vehicle was going quite fast & in my opinion too fast for the walkways that people & children still walk along! Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: GREAT

It was good. Great alcarte food and always something to eat. Resort is big so always somewhere to go :) Lots of wildlife on the resort which was exciting. Lots of people there to tell you about excersions and help you book. Everyone is very helpful and friendly, staff is always very willing to help you with anything

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Good resort but teething problems

Large luxurious facility with very courteous staff. Well organized in terms of entertainment, rooms, restaurants - service at times is very slow possibly due to staffing issues. Pools are good and well maintained Weeds in water all along the beach but consistent efforts to clean. All restaurants are not yet open but Ok for week long stay - could be boring for a longer duration.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Great resort for price!

Overall this resort I consider to be a 4 plus. The room was fine, the grouds were immaculate, the beach was very good although the seaweed was endless due to the very windy days but they did try to remove it on a regular basis. The food was good but not alot of variety for buffet restaurants but the ocean front restaurant buffet was excellent with lots of room on the patio everyday to enjoy lunch, also the service was excellent. Night time snacking is non-existant form what I was told, didn't matter to me so much but the late night revellers must have been disappointed about this. Beach related, they can easily add more beach related activities such as volleyball, rental hut for snorkeling, caterman rentals etc. since this was lacking.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Growing Pains

Beautiful property with excellent staff but not yet ready for travellers. I would give it at least 6 months before trying it out. Currently value for money is not there but certainly has the potential in the future.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Quiet

The grounds are amazing, very well taken of. If you stay at this resort you can use the amenities at the other resorts. If you are there to party, this place is not for you. Very quiet, not much happening but again you can visit the other hotels. The food was the best I've had at an all inclusive. Amazing. I didn't do the al la cartes as I found everything at the buffet. Grand Palladium Kantenah: Good family vacation

This was the first full family resort vacation that we have taken with all three kids and Kantenah was an excellent choice. The grounds were beautiful and the kids loved all the animals wandering around. With four hotels shared there was lots of exploring to do. The beach is stunning and the food was good. Having many excursions near by is also a big plus. The kids also really liked the kids club and went several times. This gave us the chance to have a couples vacation within a family vacation. [... read more] As part of Kids club, the kids were involved in several shows before the main shows in the evening and this was an unexpected high point for the trip. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: WOW

This hotel was fabulous. The beach was perfect for children and snorkelers - clear, calm and large. The staff were the most attentive and accommodating, more than any other resort I've been to. The food was wonderful. The only negative is that the room was a bit musty, BUT they did have a solution and came around with "aromatherapy" to freshen it up. Would definitely visit again

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great potential-just not clean

Loved the location along the coast, terrific beach with some private areas, good service - but the rooms had dust bunnies on walls, dirty lamp shade ( black) and stained blinds. I spoke to the front desk about it the morning after we arrived but it had no impact. Spoke to another couple who had the same concerns so we were not alone. Too bad. Grounds were beautifully maintained. Perhaps they should be assigned to do the insides as well.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Fantastic Family Vacation

My family and I (38, 37, 6, 4 & 2) spent a wonderful week at the Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach Dec 20-27, 2014. At the recommendation of our amazing travel agent Jennifer Collard we stayed at this resort. She was totally right. The food, the resort, the activities, the rooms, the atmosphere, the people...EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!! We will definitely be back again!
