Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: A Piece of Paradise!

Amazing resort! Exceptional food options, entertainment and friendly staff. Room was beautiful but unfortunately got a view of construction however you couldn’t hear it when the doors were shut. Pools were great as was the beach minus a bit of unavoidable seaweed. Note: Beware of “Membership Presentstion”

Grand Oasis Sens: Great resort

Other than having to wait for our room, we got in at 9 am, I have no complaints, the food was awesome, everything clean everywhere you looked, staff were friendly, and did not seem to look for tips, got served quickly and politely, at all bars and restraints, amazing views from the pool. Food was amazing, only went to the buffet for breakfast, no need for reservations other than the Sakura, book early if you want to eat there.

Riu Dunamar: Another great Riu Hotel

This was my second trip here. I went February and also in May. This was my 10th time to a Riu, so you know I like this chain. This place is less than a year old so it's still very new and fresh and clean. The things that draw me to a resort are the beach and the restaurants. Riu Dunamar has a great beach with lots of shady palms and lots of beach chairs. You won't have any trouble finding a spot. The restaurants were all very good. There is lots of choice and it's all pretty good. The Riu is the first resort on Playa Mujeres so you are alone out there, which is nice. There are no beach vendors, (yet) because there are not enough people there to sell to. Just this one hotel. A Riu Palace is being built right next door, due in November i think, but other than that, you can walk the beach for a mile in each direction and not see another resort. There is also a huge water slide facility (6 adult slides) plus a kiddies section which is included and is right on the hotel grounds. I'm 59 and I had a blast on them! There were people of all ages there. Lots of good music and partying is available. Even a foam party at one of the pools. I'll definitely be back. I'd recommend this place to anyone. It's a 45 minute transport ride from the airport. The price was very good for both times I went to this resort but I expect it will rise as the place becomes more popular.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Family with 2 kids

We’ve been to many resorts in the area. There is lots for kids to do but there’s lots of mosquitoes due to it being in the jungle. Food was just okay. We liked that there was a quiet pool for us to do some relaxing. Shows are good. Rocky beach in water. Probably would not return.

Grand Sunset Princess: Awesome first time experience!

For what I did know about resorts, this one was awesome. All the way from the bedroom, to beaches and excursions. Clean, fun, and lots to do. Awesome little casino, and sports bar also. Must see coco bongo club.

Oleo Cancun Playa: Great resort...loved it!

The resort has so much to offer to couples looking to have a relaxing time away from everyday life. Top notch servers are there to bring you drinks and food whether you are poolside or on the beach. Shade can be found under beach tents and pool umbrellas. There is low key respectful entertainment and the restaurants have something to offer everyone. If you must keep yourself plugged in to the real world, the free WiFi is excellent throughout the resort. Riu Dunamar: Excellent Resort

Easy access to restaurants, lobby, beach, great food, friendly staff, clean rooms, fast check in and check out, calm ocean, only complaint would be lots of seaweed in the water. the entertainment is lacking a little bit.

Sheraton Buganvilias Puerto Vallarta Hotel: Good resort in a great location!

The hotel itself is great! Clean, friendly staff, and good pools with tons of sunshine. The location for walking into old town PV is its highlight for sure. Easy stroll into town with lots to do. This resort has quite a bit of construction still on the go. Our travel site seemed to indicate this was over. Two floors (at least) were gutted and under works. Which means lots of loud banging, drilling and noise. Starts around 8 or 9 am, last throughout the day. Makes relaxing the by the [... read more] pool or sleeping in quite irritating. We had a Sun Terrace room and the crews were banging new pergolas above our heads to make us up every day. Beach is not worth it at all. Rocky, sharp rocks or urchins in the water make this a no go in my opinion. Food was decent. Gaviotas is a welcome surprise for a nice formal dinner. Buffet isn't much special. Pizzas by the pool at Pergola were the way to go for a decent lunch. Great staff!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Rocky start but all turned out well in the end!

In advance, sorry for the long review! I visited this resort from May 5th through 12th, with my fiancee. Check-In: We had booked a deluxe junior suite, which is located in the adult only block of rooms. When we checked in we noticed our building location was not even close to that block of rooms. The young man checking us in was not upfront about it. We eventually were able to speak to a manager and that type of room was not available. She originally said they *may* have one available the [... read more] next day. We were upset because it was a higher cost for that room type. She did say she would provide a credit that could be used at the spa or lobby shop, which to me isn't really a great solution. I will add, it also seemed as though she was hoping we'd stay in the first room, commenting a lot find the regular room just fine. Frustrating response, in my opinion. We were able to switch the next day, though it was a bit of an inconvenience because we had to carry around passports and wallets and what not in between giving up our first room and the second. Rooms: Very clean, stocked well. Cleaned well daily, except one day I left the towels on the floor because they were getting smelly. This, according to a sign in the bathroom, signifies to please switch them for fresh ones. They were simply hung back up. I did like having a little snack of a bag of chips in the room if you didn't feel like going to the snack bar. Butler service was excellent, they made sure to have our issues with the AC and shower draining dealt with well and quickly. Buffet: Excellent variety in the main buffet! I am not gluten free but noticed they had gluten free options, as well as many vegetarian options, we never went hungry. I will say Los Corales, which is breakfast/lunch buffet in the adult only area, had far less options, and had slower service. Still wasn't bad, though. The main buffet does get busy at lunch time, I feel like people from Sian Ka'an (which is far away) come there for lunch. I was under the impression we could only use the buffets on our own resorts, but I could be wrong. 24 hour snack bar had a decent selection. A La Cartes: Arlequin is EXCELLENT. Also went to Cozumel and Mikado on Coba which were good. I will note that a table near us at Arlequin had someone gluten free and they provided wonderful service and had many options for her. Side note, if you book your a la cartes on the app, go to the PR desk to get the tickets printed out. It makes it easier when you get to the restaurant. Also, if you email the resort ahead of time (info on the Bahia website), you can book your a la cartes within 2 weeks of your stay! Pool: Found them very clean however the two family pools had very limited shaded spots. Could use a few more umbrellas. There were the most activities and music at the main pool near the lobby. The adult only pool is a little more calm. There are a lot of shaded spots but if you want them, get there by 6am. I will note that the staff do enforce the adult only factor, contrary to some reviews I've seen. Beach: Plenty of chairs in the shade near the infinity pool beach area, however that is not the best part of the beach for swimming. The main beach area is best, and also has the most acitivies like yoga, zumba and water aerobics. If you want a very soft beach and a large/deep swimming area, this will not be the beach for you. Also, I noticed it was red flag almost every day even though the waters were quite calm. Not sure if they just didn't change it, because many were out in kayaks and catamarans. Decent snorkeling, I saw many fish, a crab and some squid in the adult only beach area. I am all about the beach at an all-inclusive, and unfortunately the beach is the only reason I wouldn't return to this resort. Bars: Excellent!! There are many around. Servers around the pools and beach (they may just be in the adult only area, I'm not sure) were wonderful, and almost any drink you could name the bartenders could make it. Great quality alcohol and drinks are definitely not watered down. Entertainment: The nightly shows were great, particularly the Michael Jackson Shows. I also recommend the Mexican Fiesta night up at La Hacienda (the main village area for all 4 resorts) which happens every Thursday, though you do have to pay 18 USD each. Can't speak to the disco, I was always too exhausted by 11:30 to go! I found it was mostly couples, weddings and family groups, and was lively but not really a party crowd, in case that's what you may be looking for! Resort overall: Very clean and well maintained. You will see iguanas, coatis and agoutis. Loved seeing them, and don't worry, they certainly don't bother anyone. Compared to the Bahia property in Punta Cana I found this one more spread out and therefore less conducive to walking, but with frequent trolley service and informative maps it was no issue. Just know, this is A LARGE property! I like large resorts personally but I know many don't. You could easily stay on Akumal, but I like seeing the other resorts and the main village area. Compared to the stall and shop sales people in Punta Cana, these people are not pushy AT ALL! It is a very comfortable environment. Safety: There are many security guards, and they check who comes in and goes out thoroughly. I know there are a lot of reports about safety in Mexico but I felt safer here than in Punta Cana. We did two excursions and felt very safe with them as well! Other: I spoke with PR at the resort about my fiancees birthday while we were there. They put a banner up on the door with balloons and put sparkling wine and chocolates in the room! All in all, the service is excellent and I did not find the staff expected tips at all. If your Spanish is rusty, I found 99% of the staff were fluent in English and many fluent in french.

Ocean Coral and Turquesa: Beautiful resort

The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The grounds were beautiful and extremely clean. The restaurants were clean and the food was pretty good. The japanese restaurant was a great show so don't miss it. There was great entertainment every night.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing place

This hotel was top of the line. They had an extremely inviting staff, clean atmosphere, an excellent location, delicious food, which overall left us with an unfortgettable experience. We will be back here for sure!

Ocean Maya Royale: A Winner!

We just returned from our 4th stay at Ocean Maya Royale, which is a clear indication of what we think of this resort. There are so many things we like about it. The size is perfect, easily manageable on foot. As older adults we appreciate the fact that there are no children. The grounds are beautifully kept and we liked the wildlife: deer, coatis, racoons, as well as the many and colourful birds. We found our room very comfortable and always spotlessly clean, and anything we requested (such  [... read more]as a rubber mat for the shower) was promptly delivered. Both pools are well maintained, and while we didn't use the "party pool" ourselves, preferring the larger, quieter areas, we could see that it was popular with a lot of guests, enjoying a lively good time. As for the beach, there was hardly any seaweed, thanks to the workers down there, and there was good access for walking and swimming in the ocean. Food is an important part of any holiday, and the Ocean Maya Royal did not disappoint. The main dining room, La Hacienda, offers an amazing variety of choices at every meal, something to suit every taste. We especially liked the two dinners we ate at The Blue Moon. We were really impressed by the quality of the food there, as well as the excellent service. La Dolce Vita was very good too, and we also liked the Mexican dinner at El Charro. We cannot say enough about the staff in general. Everyone we encountered was friendly, courteous and helpful, cheerful, smiling and so hard-working! It seems their mantra is "Todo bien?", and it always was, muy bien. We would like to mention and thank some of the people who stood out for us: Sara Lopez in the Privilege Office, Agustin Lopez at the beach, Jorge Casanova and the team at The Blue Moon, Vicente and Manual and Adrian in La Hacienda. You all, along with your colleagues, made our stay very special. Would we return to the Ocean Maya Royal? Absolutely! Would we recommend it to others? Definitely!

This resort is a clean friendly resort. There attention to detail and desire to make your vacation enjoyable is their priority. We loved the pool drink service and Abel was amazing! We will be going back! H10 resorts knows how to give you a great holiday!

Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Amazing Resort - excellent staff, 5 restaurants; entertainment in the evening, adult pool

Have been going to this resort for over 20 years & each year it gets better. Staff bend over backwards to meet your every need - in particular Gina,Leo, Oscar ,Dalia, Judith, Jorge, Christian and Reggie to name but a few. We have met marvellous people from all over Canada and the U.S. that come back year after year as well - considering all the different resorts that are available this speaks volumes for the resort. Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: would stay again

Are overall stay was very good and would recommend the Grand Sirenis to family and friends .There was many things to see very close to resort and many things to do both on and off the resort .The food was good but they could improve on selection of deserts.The resorts pool and lazy river and well kept very enjoyable to use but the main pool was far to loud for myself and my wife,overall great place .

Hotel Dos Playas Faranda: VERY GOOD SERVICES

The hotel's personnel is very professional and friendly. Very clean rooms and all waitress always were ready to serve us , Ms.Brenda always very nice and her big smiling on her face welcome us to buffet room. The food excellent, fresh fruits, veggy and fish, meat tasted deliciously. The cook shall get the biggest award price and top salary for what he did on regular days in kitchen, as well as made delicious of Thai food. The manager of resort was very nice and always ready to give help.  [... read more] The entertainment was very nice and the group of local dancers impressed us very much, the African's acrobatic dancers did the amazing show which i can compare to the best show of acrobats in Las Vegas. Barcelo Maya Caribe: Wonderful stay

We were very pleasantly surprised by this resort! We travelled with our toddler and our 2.5 months old. It is beautiful well organized and gave us a perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. The possibility to move between the different Barcelo resorts inside is nice and makes it feel really big. Kids' parks and pools are really well thought and the beach is absolutely wonderful! buffets are really great and the waiters go above and beyond. The specialty restaurants are also worthwhile. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Wonderful resort

The grounds, buildings and rooms are well kept and cared for. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Very easy to get around resort with their trolley system. Activities at pools and nightly at resort and Hacienda were great. Very relaxing vacation.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: We loved Iberostar Lindo

We thought the whole resort was gorgeous. It was large but after a few days we found our way around. Food, service, grounds, beach, drinks were all fabulous. No complaints at all. We would definitely recommend it.

Ocean Maya Royale: Enjoyable resort

Rooms were very nice, entertainment staff was exceptional. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the pools and excellent dining, especially appreciated the “ no reservation “ policy at restaurants. The buffet did not keep up with refilling the selections very well at times and the daytime construction along the walking paths was not very attractive.
