Barcelo Maya Caribe: Wonderful stay

We were very pleasantly surprised by this resort! We travelled with our toddler and our 2.5 months old. It is beautiful well organized and gave us a perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. The possibility to move between the different Barcelo resorts inside is nice and makes it feel really big. Kids' parks and pools are really well thought and the beach is absolutely wonderful! buffets are really great and the waiters go above and beyond. The specialty restaurants are also worthwhile. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Wonderful resort

The grounds, buildings and rooms are well kept and cared for. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Very easy to get around resort with their trolley system. Activities at pools and nightly at resort and Hacienda were great. Very relaxing vacation.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: We loved Iberostar Lindo

We thought the whole resort was gorgeous. It was large but after a few days we found our way around. Food, service, grounds, beach, drinks were all fabulous. No complaints at all. We would definitely recommend it.

Ocean Maya Royale: Enjoyable resort

Rooms were very nice, entertainment staff was exceptional. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the pools and excellent dining, especially appreciated the “ no reservation “ policy at restaurants. The buffet did not keep up with refilling the selections very well at times and the daytime construction along the walking paths was not very attractive. Barcelo Maya Palace: Paradise!

This resort was my first down south and it has set bar so high, I can't imagine any other measuring up. The staff were friendly and most spoke excellent English. There is an army of them to take care of guests. The resort is large but you never had to leave your section if you didn't want to. If you did desire it but didn't want to walk, you could take the double decker red bus that came by ever 15 minutes. The food was delicious. The beaches were golden and rarely super busy. So the watermelon had seeds...awful I know. Seriously, this place was a dream. Go check it out for yourself!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Good resort!

First off, we had a great stay and enjoyed our time at thoroughly. The rooms and resort were very clean and the staff were amazing. The food was good but they didn't serve enough mexican inspired dishes witch was a let down for us. We only went to a couple of the restaurants (steak house, seafood and French) and we didn't enjoy them that much. The resort felt a little dated and the pools weren't that deep as deep as we liked (only 4 feet). Overall the resort was good for the price. We don't know if we'd go again but we would recommend it.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Truly a great resort

The rooms where very spacious being there was three beds,belcony was large and private.the food was amazing from breakfast to dinner, no waiting. The pool was great also with some activity daily and also at night there was always something from a musical play to just music. They had vendors come in one night if you wanted to shop. We are ocean people but the seaweed was a detorent. Over all a great week.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Very clean and nice resort!

The general area is quite nice with very friendly staff. Shops and amenities are pretty good and food generally was quite good with lots of variety. Their steakhouse and Italian restaurant was our favourite overall for dinner. Their Japanese restaurant wasn’t very good to our taste as we have plenty of very good Japanese choices in Toronto so our standard is rather high. The beach was a bit disappointing as it had a ton of seaweed daily and a large part of the beach had rocks and uneven footing making it a challenge to enjoy it fully. This forced most people to be inside the pools rather than on in the sea. Initially we tried to book exursions in the lobby thinking they would be the best but we found a very good quality scuba dive package from inside the resort called “DIVE IT” which was much better value. Overall a very good experience and would recommend it.

Selection Riviera Cancun: Best resort

One of the best resorts I've been to. Food was exceptional as was service. Very friendly staff and attentive. Clean and maintained. Luxurious rooms and honestly was very impressed by it all. Would def return and go back to the same resort again.

Riu Palace Peninsula: Good Resort

Nice hotel but not a five star. Stayed in mid April Pros: Clean hotel, friendly staff, lots of good food. For us the buffet was enough of a variety. No need to book for a la carte, if you wanted to try the many restaurants.Good entertainment. Cons: We would have liked more live music and a night club at the resort. The music is done at 11:15. The bands were very good...just didn't get enough of them. There really isn't much within walking distance either. For such a large resort it just s [... read more]eems a bit quiet. The rooms were a bit different as well. The bathroom is just part of the room...it is all wide open. Would have preferred a room that has a separate bathroom with a door.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Great stay

Excellent clean grounds, great food in a la carte restaurants and buffets, good entertainment program. Large pools. The beach is average, some days lots of seaweed. Overall great stay in this huge resort complex.

Excellence Playa Mujeres: Outstanding resort! We love this place.

This was our fourth time at the Excellence Playa Mujeres (EPM). We have been to other resorts and every time we go somewhere else, we compare it to the EPM. This is our favourite location. Everything about it is fantastic. The food, the service, the layout of the resort. The staff make you feel very welcome and they are so attentive and work hard. The lobby martini bar is the best. Special mention of our mixologist Cesar, and also Tona. They were magnificent, friendly, and very engaging.  [... read more] We had a great time. The Chez Isabelle is our favourite restaurant, but we also love the Lobster House, Grill, and Agave. The wood oven pizza for a snack during the day or at lunch is amazing. We had a wonderful week and look forward to going back!

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Amazing resort

We stayed at the at he Akumal Bay Beach and Wellines Resort ( ABBWR) the first week of May and we fell in love with the resort and the people there after the first 5 minutes. Its a small resort with only 4 buildings with 4 floors and elevator for easy access. Everything is close to the pools/ beach/restaurants and bars. One of the neat things is that all the restaurants are on a first come basis no reservations. We highly recommend this resort and will be definitely be going back

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Grand Sirenis Maya Beach resort

The resort is Large and spread out. I liked it for this reason as it never felt crowded. The grounds are nice and well maintained. There was seaweed that would wash up on shore; some days more than others. However, the workers would be out there every day raking it up.There is a reef you can snorkel from the beach and see lots of different types of fish and corals. Pool drink service was slower. There is a lazy river, a quiet pool and a party pool. Room was clean, bed was soft and comfy, A/C was nice and cold, fridge was restocked daily, the maid left a different towel animal on the bed each day. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. Lobby bar had the best drinks. Overall had a great time there.

Sandos Cancun: Perfect resort !!

The resort was amazing. Very accommodating and the staff were also very polite. We were a group of 9 for a bachelorette party and we had an amazing time. The resort itself isn’t a big party resort but we stayed on the beach most of the time having our own great party. The staff were quick to refill our drinks and bring us food. The food at all the restaurants and buffet was great too. I’m celiac and usually have a very difficult time eating and drinking but again the staff were very accommod [... read more]ating. The rooms were very nice as well.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Loved it!!!

The Now Jade was an amazing resort! The rooms were very large and clean. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a large variety of options at the buffet and restaurants to choose from. We came back a few pounds heavier from all the delicious meals! The beach was a bit rocky but there are areas that’s it not as bad and you can enter the ocean with no rocks. It was a great vacation and would recommend this resort!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great vacation!

Stayed at this resort in the Penthouse suite. Beautiful grounds, the rooms were extremely large and clean and the staff is amazing. The food at the buffet was great - lots to choose from and the restaurants we tried were also very good. We have been to Mexico many times and this is definitely a resort we would return to. Also adults only so very relaxing around the pool. Went down to the beach one day. Unfortunately they are having a real problem with seaweed right now and while they are doing e [... read more]verything they can to keep the water clean, the seaweed is piled up on the beach so it's not very attractive. Still, once you were in the water, it was clear and lovely.

Riu Vallarta: Great vacation experience

Great service and a great entertainment program. I will try to come back with my entire family as soon as possible. All staff were extremely helpful and polite. I had a problem with the noise on my first night, then they moved me to another one without any additional questions asked.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: Great resort!

Hi, this was my first visit to Mexico and the Akumal Bay resort. The staff were amazing! They cater to everyone and go above & beyond to help make your stay the best. The food was great, loved the open air buffet, always had a nice breeze blowing thru. I definitely would go to this resort again and would recommend to family/friends. I love that it's small and everything is a few yards away, literally, when you exit the building, with a beautiful ocean view. Grand Oasis Cancun: Alright Resort

Overall the resort was an okay experience. However I did not enjoy the food or any of the buffets. The sushi bar was good and Dragon Wei restaurant was okay but I would not recommend this resort if you are a "foodie". The atmosphere was very party scene, lots of young adults drinking all day long. If you're staying in the "adult only" resort, prepare to not get any sleep. Neighbors on both sides of my room were very loud - all hours of the day/night. Unfortunately had to pay a fee of room service "delivery" when checking out. Also, when ran out of USD and Pesos, could not find an ATM that worked on the resort, had to leave the resort in order to find one in a convenience store.
