Allegro Playacar: Average resort

Rooms were dated but ok, upper units had high ceilings, nice size balcony. Food average at best, greasy, not much choice, we both got sick. Wi fi @ $10 a day Viva Azteca next door is a way better option, friends stayed overthere.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: not what I expected

The blue bay was not what I expected at all. They rate this hotel a 4-4+ but from our stay.....I would rate it a 3. The pictures are a little miss leading. It is all depending on what your going for. This is not a romantic resort. I would recommend this hotel to single younger people who want to hang out at what they call there sports bar. There is no night life, no real shows. One of the big main pool is under construction. I read that in one of the other reviews before I left and I spoke to my travel agent about this but she said it looks like it's open. It wasn't. They don't really serve u drinks pool side unless u r in a group and tipping big. I have been to the mayan before and I must say that we will never return to this resort again. The food was average. Buffet was bland, restaurants aren't that great either. You need to book your a la carts in advance because there are no drop ins. They are not fussy on how you dress either. Even though they say formal, u can as men....dress in short sleeve shirt with nice sandels. DONT FALL FOR THE SPECIAL TOUR/BREAKFAST! It's a sales pitch. They offer spa day. Well what it is is a day using there sauna and steam room. Who wants to use that when there in mexico. Lol. Garden view rooms are very basic. We stayed in building 6. Very clean and close to the small pool. Rooms are a nice size aswell. No tubs! Not sure if this helps anyone. I hope it does. If you get this place at a really good price maybe concider it otherwise keep looking. There are better ones out there.

Oasis Tulum: worth it 100%

The resort was amazing. The rooms where fine. Best trip I have had in long time. Amazing service. The staff remembered what we liked. I would go back tomorrow. My son loved that we where in the Casa Club section as we could use the bikes or ride in the golf cart. Lots of wildlife. My son really enjoyed it. Close to most activities.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fantastic vacation

Overall an amazing place to visit. Lots to do, never boring. Great food and service. This resort had the perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment. I would love to take everyone I know there. There is something for everyone no matter your age or interests!

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Absolutely Fabulous Resort

We have only great things to say about this resort. Our only wish is that we had gone for a longer duration... 8 days was simply not enough time. We are looking to return as early as next spring. The food was delicious and so much variety at all the restaurants and grills by the beach. We tried something new every day. The grounds were always perfectly manicured. Our accommodations were well appointed and always cleaned on time. There were numerous activities to try. We loved working out in the  [... read more]morning and afternoons with Lynn and Jennifer our "Swedish Trainers". We also enjoyed the Zumba, stretching and water aerobics classes. If we had not done some of these activities on a daily basis I think we would have gained a lot of weight from all the terrific food. We would like to thank Karol Charez for recommending this resort to us. It will now become one of our favorites.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Not a 5 Star yet a few good points...

First review yet experienced traveler...this resort was not a 5 Star...Yes, food was AMAZING...but it lacked much on everything else...the rooms..cold and stark..and marble...get ready to slip n slide when wet if not careful...the service...some of them were awesome..others cold and rude. My friend left some coins on the bar and the bartender said to his friend in disappointment that is wasn't even enough to by candy. Rude! He didn't realize I spoke spanishl. The beach...rocky and lots of seawee [... read more]d...The management...POOR...the Head Manager not impressed with his lack of sincerity or efforts to accommodate a PRE-Arrival direct call requesting for side by side rooms as I was travelling with my man and my single best friend. We wanted rooms together to no avail nor appease ...offering us the worst rooms of the resort WAY at the back corner far from EVERYTHING was NOT cool...He was rude and not at all pleasing with his fake smile and "sorry, there is nothing we can do". We heard that statement a plenty...The maid service...took $10 bucks from counter assuming it was tip for him! Not cool...also...they re-used our towels (into a cute elephant) but that were the ones left in the tub to replace. The bar area is pretty quiet EVERY night...except friday's CASINO night with play money. So..if you are a couple...that wants a fine meal every night with BAAAD house wine with not much socializing and few requests...this is the place for you! If not stay away not worth it!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Excellent

Overall a very good resort. Something for everyone. Very clean.friendly staff.Entertainment in the evening was something to look forward to. Spa service was excellent. Try and use hotel tours. Was better and cheaper.

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Service with a smile

Met in the lobby with champaign, driven to out beautiful spacious room and from there experienced delicious food (twice not hot) in both the restaurants and the buffet. There was entertainment, movies, theme nights and exercise classes. The service on the beach was surprisingly efficient with the only real complaint being the weather, which was out of the resorts abilities to control.

El Dorado Seaside Palms: Romantic spots for couples

Great hotel for couples celebrating an anniversary or honeymoon. Also, great for anyone with food allergies as we were asked at every meal. Service was very efficient everywhere. Pools have mostly deep water. Difficult to find shallow water if don't swim well. Beach is narrow. Hotel very insistent on collared shirts for men at dinner in restaurants. No place for good coffee. Suggest hotel add a coffee bar. Lots of restaurants and bars for everything else. However, great place for romance with wh [... read more]irlpool tub, lots of trees on property for walks, easy to get Bali beds, etc. Had some great food but some heavy food also.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful Resort!!!

This resort was very nice. The food at the buffets and restaurants were excellent. The rooms are incredibly spacious and comfortable. The A/C however could of been slightly colder but it was okay. The service was outstanding, very friendly and efficient. If you want to get to the beach quickly and have more choices to sit, than I would recommend Talum. The pools at Coba and Talum are simply fantastic and the entertainment staff are hilarious and fun. Also, no need to get up early to reserve chai [... read more]rs, always plenty of good choices after 9:00 am. The transportation to get around Coba was fine, minimal waiting and its also a great way to meet people from other countries. Coba's lobby is simply unbelievable and everynight it was active. Lastly, for all those worried when they look a the weather forcast and see rain everyday before they leave on their trip, ignore it!!!

Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful Resort

This resort was situated in a great location, close to the airport and directly on the most beautiful part of the beach. The grounds and pools were well maintained and the staff worked very hard. Food in the buffets is typical of what you find in most resorts and the restaurants had great service and large portions. Rooms could use a little touch up (some are staring to show their age) and there were several tiles missing from the pool in our swim up room. Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Wonderfully Relaxing!!!

I really can't find a fault with this resort other than the strong arm time share attack 10 minutes after arriving at the resort.. Loved the proximity to the airport.. The rooms were quite large.. The resort is set up perfectly. Restaurants and pool area on one side...sleeping on the other side.. food is delicious enjoyed the grille for lunch and we managed to try all the restaurants and loved them all.. We would not hesitate to recommend!! You won't be disappointed!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great time at resort

The room was clean and they were very attentive to our needs. Bringing exta towel and face cloths each day. The food was good but at times the buffet for wasn't as hot as it should have been but still very tasty. Beach was sandy and no fighting for chairs .

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort

This is a lovely resort. The service from all staff is excellent. Our concierge was very attentive and all staff provided prompt service with a smile. The only drawback for us was the tour of the property and hard sales pitch from staff selling time share/vacation packages. We were offered spa credits for taking the tour and sitting through the sales pitch. Even with the credits, I would not recommend this unless you really are interested in buying a package. The tepanyaki restaurant was very good, but if you are having steak, tell them how you want it cooked unless you like well done. We were disappointed with our ocean view room. We were a long way from the water and could see only a bit of the ocean over the trees.Probably not worth the upgrade. The rooms were very nice, but a bit dark.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort

this hotel is quite big, but it offers a lot. Dining in the buffet resturant is amazing, the 24 hrs snack bars are convinient, pools and beaches very nice - great place for a holiday. Nice and big suites, too. Great service and very friendly staff!

El Dorado Royale: Amazing trip

I love this place...the food is over the top...even the room service is great at any time of the day....staff are exstreamly polite, always saying hello..the only person that was rude was a hostist in the Italian resturant by the lobby...the pools were great...if I would criticize anything it would be the ocean with the cement blocks and large black bags....I will be coming back

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great time

This is a big resort, but easy to get around. The trolleys will take you anywhere you need to go. You may have to relax and wait a minute, but that is what vacations are for. The food was great...something for everyone. The staff are extremely, helpful and friendly. The grounds are very well kept. Lots of chairs on the beach. I recommend this resort and may actually go back, since there were parts of the resort I did not have time to experience.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Quiet and relaxing resort:)

Everything was so easy to walk to compared to the Sunset and Riviera resorts. To go out in the water at beach you must wear shoes but you can walk long distances in either direction. The room was very uninviting and super impractical but we weren't there for the room. Just one mirror and no privacy. Big tub in the middle of the room. Made no sense to me. Separate "room" for toilet. Such a crazy waste of space. Drinks and food were the norm nothing really over the top. Staff were most hospitable.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Great Resort for the Entertainment

We stayed at the Iberostar Paraiso Beach Resort on the Maya Riviera Novembe 12 to 20/14. We booked an all inclusive package which included 3 a-la-cartes. The free shuttle with our package was a short 15-20 minute drive south of Cancun, with Playa Del Carmen a 15 minute ride further south of the resort. The resort grounds were beautiful and the pook was huge with waterfalls, bridges across, winding and about 6 apartment block in length. There were about 40-50 grass canapies with 2 custioned loung [... read more]ers under each, many swinging canopied beds which you had to get to early and no shortage of seating. You cannot see the ocean from the pool area which is unfortunate, although the beach once again has at least 100 loungers and lots with canopies for shade. The entertainment team was at the pool every day, doing water exercises and then pool games and teaching pool patrons many different types of line dances. This fun and always smiling entertainment team also participated in some of the nightly entertainment and after the nightly show, about seven of the team would encourage showgoers to join them in more line dancing on the dance floor. The nightly entertainment was excellent with acrobatics, high wire acts, hilarious show with audience members participating, professional dancers. The steak a-la-carte was rubbery and grizzly. The Italian raviloli was doughy, the cannelloni good. The Japenese was well worth the show cooking, definitely recommend. The main smorg was huge with great selection of salad, fruits, veggies, meats, seafood, suchi and deserts with a smaller smorg near the pool and beach. We did try the Mediteranean or Brazilian as used up all of our a-la-cartes. Tip - Pay the waiter at a-la-carte for reservation and you will likely get table. Next trip we will book an Iberostar resort likely on beach in Cancun just for convenience of shopping and airport. Excellent service at all restaurants/smorgs/bars, staff always appreciative of our tips and always smiling no matter who you were. We eat out alot and have never had such excellent service at a resort/restaurant. Our tv stopped working the night before we departed and I called front desk. Within 10 minutes a worker came and checked tv, took it out of room and replaced it in another 10 minutes, even though most resorts likely would not have seeing as we were checking out the following day. We stayed at the Melia in Puerta Vallarta 2 years ago and the food choice, staff friendlines s and entertainment were not even comparable to the Iberostar Paraiso Beach. The room was okay, except for the extremely bad ceiling florescent lighting which shone a shadow over you head. As we had at the Medlia in Puerta Vallarta, there were very tiny bugs on the dresser (you have to look at one spot for a few seconds to notice them moving) so we spent some time killing those and wouldn't dare leave food on it. We kept chips, etc. in the fridge which was well stocked with beer and an assortment of pop and water bottles (large one on counter for your coffee machine). B. Pich Alberta, Canada

the hotel just so so, its beach is not good, too many stones, which injured my feet. On the beach there is not much activity. So the peoples just lie on the chair for sunbath to get the color. their room, service and food just general.
