Grand Oasis Cancun: Awesome resort

Everything was great! we all had a blast in the pools meeting new friends and the swim up bar was a nice feature. The white sand and blue water beach was just steps away. Highly reccomend this resort

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Great experience

Heaven on earth, we enjoyed our stay very much, really a 5 star resort and the service was unforgettable.some restaurants weren’t as tasty but the presentation was gorgeous.the beach was very well maintained.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Barcelo - really good!

Almost everything about this trip was perfect. The staff was all outstanding and all very friendly. The food at the buffet and the al a cart restaurants were really good - not out of this world good, but very good. The beach is outstanding! lots of seating and lots of sunny and shady spots too. The only complaint has we had was headphones were stolen from our hotel room. I didn't follow up on this with staff as I knew what the answer would be. Make sure you use the safe. Our room [... read more] was really good - no complaints at all. And the bed was super comfortable too, which is not always the case in Mexico. The nightly entertainment was very good too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Grand Oasis Riviera: I’ve been worse..

If you have kids and want to be in bed by 9pm, it’s perfect. There was no music except at one location and it was awful hipster electronica. There was not a lobby bar, in fact there were no bars... well one, it was a swim up bar and it closed at 5pm. Staff were ok.. like not mean but certainly not friendly. I don’t ever complain and I’m not even complaint now, I just want people to have visibility to what it really is. Rooms were clean and nice, the atmosphere just wasn’t for our family.

The Sian Ka'an at Grand Tulum: Great Service and Beautiful Resort

The Sian Ka’an Grand Tulum is an absolutely stunning resort. The grounds are well manicured and it feels like you’re nestled in a forest of palm trees. The staff were accommodating and very polite. Views of the turquoise water are fantastic from the white sandy beach. Rooms are well set up and kept clean. Not a very large resort, and definitely a calm atmosphere. Overall had a lovely time at this resort, just hope they can improve their food.

Riu Palace Las Americas: The Staff Were the Best

The hotel was absolutely stunning inside and out--infinity pools, right on the water, great decor--and very clean. The staff were amazing--they remembered who we were, would stop to talk to us, and were always enthusiastic and ensured we were having a good time. The food and drinks were really good, but the desserts at the restaurants could use some work. The rooms were nice and quite big but the A/C and light switches were hard to work.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Nice Resort, however not what I thought a Secrets resort would be

Nice clean resort, however very loud annoying music everyday by the pool, not relaxing at all, so not the place to go if your looking for peace and quiet. Not able to swim in the ocean too rough, no one walks the beach, very strange. Very misleading as to what's included, had to pay for most top shelf liquors or wines, so don't be fooled by the unlimited luxery line. At least 2 restaurants closed every night, the Italian restaurant ran out of Cabernet all 3 night's we went for dinner. Rooms  [... read more]were nice, however we paid for a partial ocean view room and we're put in a room over looking the pool, we were told it was better as the ocean view rooms you could hear the construction of a new hotel being built next door, that's fine, however don't make me pay for it!! We were unable to to get back into our rooms 3 different nights, each time we were told the electronic lock would be fixed and it never was, very dissapointing. Suzy and Louisa at the pool were fabulous, always took care of us ensuring we stayed well hydrated!! Victor at the Brazilian restaurant at Dreams was amazing!!! He made us feel welcome as did the beautiful greater outside, I cant recall her name but she had the nicest smile! Although the food was great no complaints, given the price point for this resort I expected to see more seafood and steak offerings however not options. Given the price point I was a bit disappointed, we usually go to the Iberostar Grand Punta Cana, no comparison, the Grand is far superior in every way.

Sun Palace Hotel: Definitely a couples only, not adults only resort

Although the resort was nice, location great, staff were great, I was disappointed that when we asked at the time of booking if this would be appropriate for a mother daughter university grad trip and they said yes. They gave us a room with two double beds which was very accommodating but as soon as we arrived and were given the one hour introductory spiel of the various Palace properties and after having dinner in the restaurant, it was blatantly evident this was a couples only resort. We ask [... read more]ed the manager at the sun Palace to move us to the beach palace and they did so with no problem whatsoever but unfortunately we had to pay for our transportation to the beach palace which I was perfectly fine with but they didn’t have an ocean view room available and I had paid extra for ocean view So needless to say that was very disappointing because this was my gift to my daughter for graduating from university and I wanted it to be special. Only go to the sun Palace if you are a couple not even two girlfriends unless you are partners because you will not feel comfortable . The beach palace was amazing I just wished we would have been advised at the time of booking that that would’ve been the better property because then we would’ve had our ocean view room and been there right from the start . On our return home Sunwing cancelled our flight after waiting in the airport for 11 hours sent us back to another resort that was A three star at best and they told us it was five star we basically slept woke up and went back to the airport the following morning . So that was a bit of a nightmare as well . Sunwing is terrible about communicating with passengers when flights are delayed or cancelled they keep you in the dark and just keep changing the departure time by 10 minutes every 10 minutes it was ridiculous .

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Disappointed

We stayed at the Hideaway from April 26 to May 3 of this year. There was some good and some bad during our stay. Our room which was located on third floor which was ok, the smell of the room was very musty. Resort could have provided something to remove musty smell. We never got to use our balcony due to construction right next to our building. Was very noisy at times from construction inside hotel and outside. The beach was very disappointing on the last days, was full of seaweed. Couldn [... read more]'t walk on the beach due to seaweeds, and could not go swimming at the beach. The pools were just OK, the pool at the Hideaway was always packed with people, and not enough shaded area to lounge. The restaurants were OK as well, nothing to brag about. The staff was very good/friendly except for the people trying to sell you the Diamond Club, they were very persistent in trying to sell you spa for attending a meeting to join the Diamond Club. Overall I was not impressed with this resort. I would not recommend to any of our family and friends.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Amazing!

Everything about this resort was amazing! From the moment we got off the bus, we were treated like we were the only ones there. We were catered to for every request! The pools and beach were clean. The rooms were in really great shape. The food was excellent.

Grand Riviera Princess: Nice Resort

The resort itself was beautiful and very clean. It was a massive place, in some parts it was really quiet and dead which depending on what you like could be good or bad. Didn’t really have that Mexican feel that I like. The staff were very nice and helpful, we had a few minor issues with our room and they were quick to fix it. The food wasn’t horrible but wasn’t great. We stayed in the family club with a swim up room. It was nice and convenient for the kids but was really quiet [... read more] and secluded. Again, depending on what you like could be good or bad. I would recommend bringing your own music and speaker. The family club pool does not connect to the other pools. The beach was very happening, lots going on and tons of chairs. I did not like swimming in the ocean. It was very rocky and lots of seaweed and could not see the bottom. I went in holding my toddler and I struggled to get back out. If that stuff doesn’t bother you then you can get to nice sandy spots. Water shoes would help.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Loved Grand Oasis Cancun

My friends and I are all in our early 20's and this resort had it all. I must say though if you are bringing a family or don't really want to party this probably isn't the resort you want. If you are looking to party for a week on a beautiful beach and in a big pool than this is the one for you.

Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: Excellent resort in all categories!

The Finest lives up to its name! The service, food, modern room amenities and grounds, pool and beach, and the kids resort within a resort were all amazing! You can’t go wrong as a family to go here, we all loved it!

Hotel Dos Playas Faranda: Simple resort

Ground was super clean and beautiful. Room was spacious with a balcony view of the lagoon and a window view of the ocean. The food was continuously cold and everybody had their little glass for tips which was very intimidating leaving the impression that if you don’t tip you get bad service and in some case was true

Riu Dunamar: Resort was very nice!

The resort was well maintained, always staff around sweeping, mopping, dusting, picking up left glasses or plates. The restaurant staff were very attentive, and for once the red wine was not 'always' cold, a couple times it was.... They had a person with a fully loaded drink cart to travel around the pools, that was pretty cool. Never seen that before. Buffet was good, food was warm/ hard to keep it hot.... salad bar was VERY good, lots of choice. A' la cart restaurants were very good [... read more], and you didn't have to line up for reservations. First come first served and they had lots of room. We only had to wait at 1, and we went 6 times. Wasn't real impressed with the Japanese, it was buffet. Overall, I was extremely happy with my vacation.

Riu Santa Fe: Great Resort and Friendly Staff

The grounds were very clean and well kept. The pools are awesome and so are the bartenders at the swim up bars. My family loved the vacation. The activities were fun and abundant for all ages. The specialty restaurants had a variety of food and quick service. The food was great, however the wine needs improvement. The nightly entertainment was excellent and different every night. My family loved it and will always remember the great time we had!

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing vacation

this is our 2nd visit to this resort in the last 2 years and once again we were not disappointed. we booked the diamond club adults side, checking in was quick with in half an hour we were poolside enjoying a cold beverage and we were in our room by 3 o'clock, we were moved to ocean front room the next day views we unbelievable and the rooms are very clean, Butler service well that's up to you but we enjoyed it. Food is top shelf from the sports bar to the buffet to all the a la carte restauran [... read more]ts, there lots of pools to enjoy and the service at pool side was very good. The only down side to this resort is the beach the water is not that pretty blue clear the sand is white and clean and it very private no one is there trying to sell you anything. out of 5 stars I would give it 4.5

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Excellent Resort!!

Well I'm not one to usually write reviews but all I can say is Amazing!!! Our stay at the resort was nothing less than perfect, the room was amazing the staff was very friendly, helpful and entertaining.The food was excellent we did not try all the restaurants due to the ones we did go too were so good we went again.The pools were great and very well kept "never clouded by sunscreen ". I would have to say the only downside was the beach only due to the amount of seaweed " not from lack of the  [... read more]staff trying to clean it up " it happens.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Pretty good resort

The resort is perfectly located right on the beach and close to all amenities. The staff are amazing, Guatloupe, Lorenzo, Martin and so many more hard to remember all the names but they are great. Entertainment was good every night. The adult pool was nice to have separate from the kids pool. Only thing we were disappointed about was not being able to have our own music at the pool. The food was hit a miss in the buffet. Service was always good there but the food was lacking in greatness.  [... read more] No Bacon for breakfast. The gazebo for the el a carte was very good do not order the pork very dry. Salmon and chicken was divine. Rooms are clean and bed is decent but pillows are lumpy. Thank you Martha for your great service on keeping our room clean. No bar fridge no coffee makers in rooms if you are expecting this its not there. Nice ocean view from balcony picture perfect and also of the mountains. Was gorgeous views. Beach front is lovely but spent most of our time by the pool. Very good about keeping the kids out of this pool but there should be exceptions for those teens that are 17 almost 18 and with parents. Music at the kids pool sounded like fun, never went into that pool but they seemed to be having fun. Hotel is nothing fancy or big but quaint, clean, nice grounds and very nice pleasant staff. Nice they let us keep our bands on till our pick up and held our bags, check out noon, pick up 3:20. I would come back again 3-3.5 star quality.

Secrets Huatulco: extraordinary service for the price

the hotel is set in attractive, though not extensive grounds, and includes a delightful birdwatching garden. on a steep hillside [though plenty of elevators] it has great views over the ' bay of rabbits ' and wide sandy beach. though the water is often rough, the aquatic staff [ plenty of them ] are prepared to tough it out. in the hotel, the staff are extremely courteous and helpful. i liked the 'just turn up' policy for the a la carte restaurants - and we were most impressed by the mexican r [... read more]estaurant - excellent oaxacan specialities. castaways restaurant, away from the main site, was excellent for lunch, and has the best views on the property. we only tended to use the 'sky bar' on the bridge between the main area and the elevators to the pools. again, spectacular views. we went with air canada vacations, and booked all our excursions through the local agent. most were interesting, but often involved grueling minibus jouneys. we found that the tour company ac used, xpert travel, has smaller groups, but each time we were the only gringos, which added to the interest. we didn't take the city tour, since we found we could take a taxi to crucetita for 70 pesos [$5] for 2 and wander around at will. the main church in town is definitely worth a look. although this time of year is the dry season, and the hillsides are mainly brown, most public areas in the region and the highway to the hotel have been landscaped and are well watered, making it most pleasant. we are seriously contemplating returning at the end of the rainy season!
