Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Excellent & amazing

We have been to Mexico many times, and we keep coming back to this hotel. The staff and location are the reason. The staff are so friendly, they make you feel right at home ! The bartenders at the beach bar are the best. The rooms are very clean, hot water and water pressure are excellent. The food was fantastic. There are 5 a la carte restaurants with no need for reservation (WOW!!). The grounds are very clean. The pools are great ! The beach is beautiful. The night shows were spectacular.....the music, the locals and the Mexican dancing...wow! Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great place to stay!

Resort grounds are beautiful and they have very friendly & courteous staff. A little tough hard to ask questions as most speak very little English at all. We went for a wedding and the resort wedding coordinator & photographer were phenomenal! A la carte food was amazing and really enjoyed the assortment of food at the buffet.

Ocean Coral by H10: awesome resort

loved the Ocean coral, Candy & Rickardo meet us every morning for breakfast and their service was fantastic..only negative was how sneaky the main desk was on how Elvis got us..he says enjoy your stay and Elvis will look after you. we thought it was about the resort which he explained and then he suggested we meet for a special breakfast the next morning...the resort itself was clean & inviting.. only thing I would change is making reservations for dinner..we didn't get to have supper @ the mexi [... read more]cian .which I was looking forward to but when it wasn't closed we couldn't get an early seat , 8:30 or 9 was available but way too late for us.. the pools are great and the beach is beautiful..would highly recommend this resort to all our friends....:( our cleaning lady never once left us towel art

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: BAHIA PRINCIPE - ADULT ONLY HOTEL

The hotel I found was quite isolated and I preferred the Coba or the other associated hotel over the one I stayed at. However, I must say, It was my birthday and they went above and beyond. I was so surprised and grateful. Truly amazing. I feel the front desk staff should be more educated on common questions that may be asked and some of them didn't speak English very well. The info session should have been held at my hotel instead of the Coba. Everyone else had their session at their home base. [... read more] Everything was extremely clean, pools, rooms etc. The other hotels had way more events and activities then my hotel. I spent very little time at my hotel. The pools were not lively at all. Some of them weren't even tended to. Definitely not what I expected. I would recommend staying at the Adult hotel only because of all the perks I received. I was served the best of all liqueurs inclusive, better towel service etc., you also get to utilize all the associated hotel's benefits and all their amenities as well. However I would recommend, visiting all the other hotels associated. All the amenities are closer and within walking distance or a quick trip on the train(golf cart). The event and activity schedules involving all the pools were not on par. They were at the other hotels.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Wonderful getaway!

Now Sapphire was terrific. The resort itself was beautiful and We felt safe at all times. The staff was very well trained - from check in to concierge to bar tenders to cleaning staff. You heard "It is my pleasure" all the time. The food was amazing - 5 star from buffet to any of the restaurants. A small resort but that is what we loved about it. We upgraded to an ocean view room and worth every penny! And only a 20 minute ride from the airport! We would go back in a heartbeat!

Grand Sunset Princess: Excellent value for your money

Although the resort is large it is situated in such a fashion that it did not feel crowded. Staff is very professional and the service is very good as well. We also enjoyed the many restaurants and the quality of food. The area for small children was great and also their opportunity to find some suitable activities.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Resort was nice...different...but nice

We had an excellent week at the Platinum Yucatan Princess. The resort was different...we found the "modern" decor a bit different and a bit cold. Extremely clean and the staff were, for the most part, very courteous and helpful. Resort was only about half full so it was a bit quiet. Expected more night time activities...the activities the resort had wrapped up by 10:30 or 11:00 pm and were pretty mellow. Food and liquor choices were good. Beach was nice.

Ocean Coral by H10: Good hotel, not great. No real problems.

Spent 8 days at the Ocean Coral at the end of October. The hotel was OK, more for younger people. We were a group of 3 ladies in mid sixties. Room was musty, not much of an ocean view for what we paid.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: cleanest all-inclusive that I've ever stayed at.

My husband and I stayed for one week at Gran Porto Real in Playa Del Carmen. We chose this resort because it was so close to the downtown '5th Avenue'. First, I must say that the front desk reception, upon our arrival was organized and quick. We were in our room within 10 minutes of our arrival. We had upgraded to an 'Ocean View' and we more than pleased with the view from our balcony. Our room was 244 and had a nice view of the ocean and Pier at the North side of the resort. Our room was close  [... read more]to the lobby, main restaurant and beach but nice and quiet. Secondly, the service was amazing. I have no idea what the pay scale is at these all-inclusive resorts, nor should it matter to me, but this is the first all-inclusive that I have been to where the staff do NOT hang around waiting for a tip after providing ever small service. We usually do tip after each meal, and provide gratuity to our servers at the pool or bar, but at this resort the genuinely seemed surprised and very appreciative. The staff does not 'hang all over you', but always seemed to be there when you needed them and seem to actually want to assist you with anything that they can. The food at this resort was not the best that I have experienced, but the choices are plentiful and there is always something available that will suit even the pickiest of diners. The servers in the buffet restaurant had even offered to have the kitchen make me something 'special' when they saw that I was avoiding parts of the buffet one evening due to an allergy. I did not request this, they just were attentive enough to notice. The beach is Horrible. You can either walk about 500 yards North of the resort to the other side of the pier where the sister resort is, to find a great swimming beach or a further stroll South just past all the fishing boats has great swimming also. The location of this resort is perfect though. With just a one block walk, you will find yourself in the center of 5th Avenue with your choice of many restaurants, bars, cantinas, salons and both Artisan stalls and high-end shops. We did not use any of the services provided at the Spa as the prices were more than 3x the costs of the exact same services provided on 5th Avenue. I would definitely recommend this resort and happily rebook here.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Really good, large

We enjoyed our stay had some issues with showers, but liked the beach and pool areas , food was good , the mixed drinks could be better more consistence with the ratio of booze to mix . I think I refer a smaller resort but this was fun and staff friendly

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Beautiful Place

We booked Azul Fives as a last minute vacation with no knowledge of the resort except what we read online. We were extremely impressed when we arrived. We had a lovely 1 bedroom suite, which was huge. We looked out onto a pool area, where the pool man was right at you service every morning to set up your chair and towel, we found all the beach and pool attendants to be extremely helpful and friendly!! We loved the beach area and the restaurants.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Clean, Great Service

The resort is extremely clean throughout. Rooms were cleaned daily and mini fridge stocked daily as well. Part of the main pool was being cleaned and repaired during my stay but with the other half of the main pool as well as the quiet pool there was no hardship due to the reno. The ala carte Restauarants were fabulous and no trouble making reservations for the same day or day after. I think my favorite was the Italian but I only ate there on my last day so I didn't get to enjoy it twice. It is  [... read more]a very large spread out resort but the carts go about every 8-10 minutes in between stops so if you don't like walking make sure you are close to one of the stops. The snack bars probably don't have quite as much food as the main buffet but there is still lots of items to pick from. Room blocks 1-4 are closest to the beach and main pool, building 5 is a little bit off on its own but has the best beach access and is closest to the swing bar. Room blocks 6-8 are near the quiet pool and main buffet and ala carte restaurants, as well as the 24 hour sports bar. Over all this resort should satisfy most everyones needs, as it has a little bit of everything, The biggest downfall is probably the beach as it has a few rocks and sandbags.

Ocean Maya Royale: Nice resort

We really liked our resort and accommodations . Food was very good. I only wish this resort would have swim out rooms. I really did not like the pool areas enjoyed the beach much better. Lots of loungers on beach to enjoy.

Allegro Playacar: A resort that grows on you

Nov 13 at 7:25 PM Diane, firstly thank you so much for the vacation package, both my wife and I really enjoyed getting away for the week. You may be aware that the flight leaving Vancouver was delayed from 7:50 am to 1:00 pm and then again to 1:25 pm and did not actually get off the ground until well after 2:00 pm making it a total delay of more than 6 hours. I did check on the flight schedule just before we left the hotel and was informed the flight was on time (at 4:00 am). We received an emai [... read more]l from Trip Case around 4:30 am advising us that our flight has been delayed but unfortunately we had already left the hotel and did not get the email until quite some time later. We arrived at the resort around 11:30 pm and was quite disappointed that our first day of vacation was spent either in the airport or on the plane. Disappointing also was the fact that Air Transat did not appear overly concerned about our predicament offering little apology and a measly $15 coupon for breakfast. They obviously did not care that we would be either in the airport or on the plane for many hours and lunch and dinner would not be forthcoming unless we made our own plans to purchase meals and take them on the plane. I suggest this is not good customer relations and most if not all of the passengers expressed more than disappointment in the process. On the positive side the resort, while small, was quite nice. First night it looked not so good but the next couple of days it kind of grew on us and we had a good time. We especially liked the unique design of the rooms, they really are quite Mexican not like others that do not have palapas and have modern style designs. The meals were rather sub par being the same food almost each day. The best thing about the resort was the staff, they were very friendly, helpful and really shined when it came to service. We cannot say enough about the attitude of the staff. While there we ran into a group of travel agents who were viewing several resorts in the area and those that I talked with agreed that this resort should be rated somewhere between a 2 and 3 star. While the staff make every effort to keep up with the repairs it is obvious that the buildings are simply quite old and need more than a face lift. Overall we liked the resort, the proximity to town, and the ambiance. Without the 5 star service this would not be a resort I would like to return to. However the service is definitely one of their major strengths. Again thanks for the trip, and we look forward to having our name drawn again and perhaps winning a trip to Cuba. All the best, Bill

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: I never felt so pampered

I asked for a quiet room and got it. Our patio opened out into a quiet garden. The staff was plentiful and couldn't do enough for you, or fast enough. 5 a la carte dining rooms with delicious varied menus. There was always 2 kinds of entertainment louder for the younger crowd and quieter for the more mature. 24 hour small buffet and room service, can you imagine.. The grounds were continually maintained. This is the Best Resort we have ever been to.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Superb Resort

The room was spacious and the decor was good. The staff (bar, entertainment team, housekeeping, servers in the restaurants, front desk and bell boys) were always smiling and provided an excellent service.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: piece of paradise

This hotel is an excellent price for the quality of service. We went in November so it was nice and quiet and we always got a spot at the beach. Drinks were delicious+ try the mango margarita. If you like a laid back resort this is the one to go to. For some more action you can always go to the activity pools at the other resorts (coba, akumal) or you can visit the hacienda

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Wonderful hotel and holiday!

This resort is gorgeous and the service was fantastic. The rooms are a great size and all kept very clean, fridge stocked. The resort is so big, so much room around the pools and on the beach! Good was also great, especially in the Japanese restaurant! We went for a wedding and it was gorgeous! Will def recommend this hotel to friends and family!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing stay but terrible beds

Staff were great, food was amazing, loved the drinks. But... The beds were terrible. Like sleeping on just the box spring. Rooms were clean and mini bar was stocked daily. Beaches were nice and clean and the resort was not over crowded. Found the vip sales people a bit pushy but that's just the way it is for that stuff.
