Riu Guanacaste: Amazing Resort

Everything was wonderful. m Everything was clean. Staff was very pleasant. Enjoyed our excursion. Had a great time. Getting to and from the airport was very easy. The manor of getting together in the lodge etc was great.

Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Allegro papagayo

There rions Were clean and simple. I recommend bring face cloths from home. the pool and buffer area were also clean! The washroom near the pool had only two working toilets out of five. The staff were friendly and helpful. The resort is in an isolated area. If you are looking to go out it is not for you. The hotel is located in a bay, the water is very calm and shallow!

Riu Guanacaste: Amazing Resort! Riu Guanagaste- Liberia

The lobby..foyer was beautiful! Staff was great...pool and swim up bar fantastic! The entertainment was great In the evening ..must have hired professionals! Rooms were very nice and the food was great at the buffet...great coffee omelettes.....desserts! The Italian restaurant and steak house were great too!

Riu Guanacaste: Absolutely Amazing

This hotel is an amazing place to vacation as a couple or as a family. It has everything to offer!! Day to night pool activities, a casino, a disco, a show nightly for the kids and then one for the adults, tennis courts, basketball, pool and beach volleyball, scuba lessons in the pool, aerobics, paddle boats, kayaks, jet ski's The service was excellent the pools were amazing the restaurants had you begging to go back for more!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Wonderful resort

The resort was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very well looked after. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Our room looked out into the forest where we watched and listened to the monkeys and the tropical birds such as parrots. Internet connections in the room was sometimes spotty and the resort was about a 45 minute drive from the airport. The entertainment each night was very enjoyable although a bit amateurish. We really enjoyed our time there and will definitely return.

Punta Leona Beach Club and Nature Resort: Beautiful and relaxing!

Stayed here for a week with my boyfriend. We loved it. Lots to do and see. A little removed from town but taxis or car rentals can take care of that. Rooms were totally fine, we had a selvamar standard and it was perfect for us. Food options were far better than most other all inclusive we have been too. Beaches were outstanding!! Plenty of surf! Staff were all exceptionally nice... as it's a private club/resort no panhandle trying to sell you things on the beach. Overall excellent vacation. [... read more] Very quite resort, except on weekends when locals come in! This is not a party resort, that being said yiu can still have lots of fun here. Excellent wildlife all over to see. Pura vida!

had great time if you want to see monkeys this is the place to go monkey travel along the beach area 3 - 4 times a day. guides on beach are a lot cheaper than the excursions through the resort. see Antonio, Henry, or Diego all are insured and will go out of there way to make excursion the best. we went with Henry and he is very shopping is best done at coco beach little town 30 minutes away everything is about half price what you will pay at the resort. there is also a small casino in coco beach [... read more] for anyone wanting to do a bit of gambling. great little take out place if you like wraps right beside casino. trip is about 15 buck a person return if you book through guys on beach or about 75 - 90 for cab ride. well worth the money if your looking for gifts. resort is on a hill but they have shuttle every 10 minutes or so to take people around. Most of the resorts there are on hills so expect a good leg workout. beach is nice and well looked after lots of birds around to take photos of.

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica: beautiful resort

We just returned from this resort. While the road in is terrible, there is beautiful scenery and animals to look at. We had a great driver to and from the resort who were very knowledgeable and took time to stop and let us take pics. The resort is very picturesque and even more beautiful at night. The beach while not as beautiful as the Carribean was still a nice walking beach. It is also a public beach, so that may account for the fact that there are no palapas, and also the tide comes in quite [... read more] far. No problem with check in, very fast actually. The food was good and plentiful. We had no problem getting into the restaurants. While the portions are smaller, there was still more than enough to eat. Our room was very nice and housekeeping kept everything stocked. Would I go back, it is still very far from a lot of the excursions and that road is a real deterrent, so probably not. Costa Erica is a beautiful place and would try another resort next time.

The resort grounds were kept immaculate especially for the number of people using the resort. The proximity to the beach was great. Each of the staff encountered were personable, pleasant and helpful.

The Westin Reserva Conchal Golf Resort & Spa: Amazing Resort!

Everything about this resort was amazing, from the awesome service, to pools, to food and even the Karaoke! Made for a great relaxing vacation/honeymoon! We made some great friends and loved every minute of it! The views and beaches are amazing!

Occidental Papagayo: Costa Rica is amazing!!!

This hotel is very nice, the food is great, you can actually drink the hotel water from the taps which is totally awesome!! :) The pool is a little crowded and there are not enough umbrellas, maybe 5 for the whole place, and it gets HOT, which is fabulous but a little shade is a must. We were a group of 4 ladies from work, and we had a blast. That being said, it was 99% couples but we weren't bothered by that at all. The beach is okay, not very large, and when the tide is out it's great, but th [... read more]e tide rolls in around 2:30pm each day, and then the beach is gone. lol... Hence the pool and lack of umbrellas... but that's ok, there is shade in the snack bar for snacks or drinks to cool off :) TONS of shells to collect every day, but be sure to put them in your checked luggage as mine were confiscated from my carry on. Very dissapointed... :( I spent hours each morning collecting them, as they are amazing. We did 2 excursions, one to zip line and that was just crazy fun!!!! And that included the tropical gardens, a volcanic mud bath and hot springs. Another one to the river for a boat ride to see crocodiles and white face monkeys... Loved it! We also took the sunset walk to watch the sun set over the ocean, that was incredible!!! And a must... The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere great. I would definitely go back to Costa Rica, and will do so for sure, but perhaps to another resort or city. Pura Vida baby!!

The Westin Reserva Conchal Golf Resort & Spa: Fantastic service

Great resort, beach was nice but not soft sand. Food was good not great. Service was fantastic. Very clean place. Villas are great with large clean rooms. Staff is fantastic, very kind and accommodating. Service around pool is limited and virtually no service at the beach. All and all a great spot.

Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Comfortable, Fun and Friendly

Most reviews we read about this resort were pretty harsh and extremely critical but we had a really great time. First off the staff is incredible, the nicest, friendliest and most accommodating people. They made everyone feel so welcome and excited to be at the resort (I.e. dining experiences, lobby services, bar staff, day activities, etc.). Second, this resort is pretty isolated BUT it was really refreshing. I recommend taking at least 1 or 2 day excursions just to experience the culture of  [... read more]the country. Everywhere we went everyone was so wonderful and excited to share their culture with us (and not once did we ever feel anyone was out for our money). The country is beautiful with so many different kinds of terrain and climate to experience (i.e. mountains/volcanoes, deep valleys, rainforest, dry lands, etc.) so definitely take the opportunity to leave the walls of the resort to explore. Third, Costa Rica has become a more expensive country to visit in the past 20-30 years. Keep this in mind when shopping anywhere. The cost of living and what is legally minimum wage is not proportional so when bartering (shop owners don't mind making compromises) keep in mind they are making significantly less than what most Canadians/Americans make but have to pay only a little less in terms of living expenses. They do offer taxi service for 80$/4 people to a beach/shopping strip in coco beach about 30 mins away. I really didn't care for it all that much because it's been modelled specifically for tourist activity. The beach is really nice but the shopping is pretty expensive. Fourth, back to the resort, lots of reviews were disappointed with the beach and the colour of the sand. Personally I loved it. You can see the bay around you. The water is warm and extremely shallow but the tide shifts pretty often so this dictates how far you have to walk out to get to deeper water. Fifth, the hotel is built on a hill so depending on where youre staying there may be climbing included in your day. The rooms aren't super fancy but we were rarely in ours anyway, beds are comfortable and rooms are well air conditioned. Last, the food at the buffet had its merits. Lots of fresh veggies and different meat options. They always served rice and beans with every meal. Breakfast was my favourite with eggs, pancakes (they had a firmer texture but we're so good), french toast, breads, cheeses, meats, cereal, omelets and smoothies custom made.

Allegro Papagayo by Occidental: Wonderful resort

The setting is tranquil and which begs to be enjoyed. Sunshine daily with the warmth of the sun penetrating winter worn vacationers. The smiles and friendliness of the many staff from the omelette chef Nohemy to the lobby staff,one of whom was Estavan, all made the resort memorable. White faced monkeys were fascinating. We were delighted and the hills to climb kept us more than fit.

Beach Break Resort: Morgans Cove Resort

This hotel is old and in need of some updates. The rooms are well cleaned by the staff and the grounds are well maintained. Blackbeards restaurant serves a buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food is pretty good and lots of choices. Bar service is very good. Employees are always smiling and friendly. Only real complaint was loud and noisey neighbours, and slow service of wine at lunch and dinner,

Riu Guanacaste: Great Resort

An absolutely beautiful resort. Smaller in size then most resorts but that was perfect. As smokers we were upset about the no smoking law in Costa Rica and wish we had known we would have to smoke in a parking lot while on vacation. Food was good. But selection was the same each day so hot boring after 2nd and 3rd day. But don't get me wrong the food was really good. Resort staff were incredible. Rooms were stunning and the weather was beautiful. Would definitely return.

Excellent service, the grounds are lush and exceptionally clean. Huge pool with hot tub. The resort has a nice layout, very breezy, the staff are very nice and helpful. The food is excellent! The beach is a little dangerous because of the waves, bring watershoes!

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Very nice place

flowers, pools, food and the service were all amazing ! A good selection of restaurants to chose from for each supper. Dress code was reasonable for both male and female .Rooms were very clean and the 24 hour snack stop was a good thing to have. Only negative things that I would say is that I wished there were washrooms closer to the pool area and more benches around the resort to stop and rest ! Overall, I would rate a 10

Riu Palace Costa Rica: Amazing Vacation

This was an amazing trip. The room, beach, pool, bars, restaurants, and people were all perfect! A excellent choice for all looking to travel to Costa Rica. The weather was 30-35 degrees and we couldn't have asked for a better trip.

Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica: Great vacation

The resort was friendly, staff tried to speak English but appreciated if you tried to speak Spanish. The resort was very clean, will be beautiful when flowers mature and bloom. We enjoyed seeing monkeys outside our room.
