Resonance Blu Varadero: Memories cuba

Very nice. Not a new hotel just has been renamed so a little misleading. Only complaint around hotel is the "male" pool and beach staff were found to be harassing asking for articles trying to sell cigars or sat trips.

Paradisus Varadero: Amazing resort

overall had a great experience, very friendly staff, great beech, pool was nice, food was good.oy negative is the bed in our rooms. Way to hard and you could feel the springs in your back. Very satisfied

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Great Vacation

Resort was great although a little old and this showed in the rooms. Food selection was good although I wish they did not put pork meat in everything. Grounds and surroundings were very well maintained. Distance to the rooms not too long so that was good to walk back and forth from the reception and too far from the beach.

Sol Varadero Beach: Great Beach; Warm people!

We stayed on the Sirenas side which is still to be renovated (Coral was recently upgraded). The hotel was great; but don't go if you like to dance at a local disco. Beaches are beautiful; well lit at night, and well maintained. The animation staff is warm; but not as friendly as some resorts. The food has gotten better in Cuba; and i don't go there for the 5 star restaurants. I liked the hotel, but it isn't my favorite in Cuba. Starfish Jibacoa: Excellent resort

everything was excellent, the food, hotel, beach front, bar. the only problem was if you want to take a taxi to varadero, havana or matanza you have to pay $40 to $50 canadian each way for 30 minute ride. bus service hard to figure out.

Hotel Bella Costa: Disappointed!

1. Accessible. Small resort and is to reach all the facilities. 2. Night entertainment, i.e. dancing was very good. 3. Daily activities were great and they give out many prizes. 4.There were good game areas such as billiard, ping pong, chess etc. We did not find any water sports such as kayaking and pedal boats. 5. The beach was nice and there were enough beach chairs. 6. The worst food comparing to the other 4-star Cuban resorts we've been. Very cheap (beans, corns and other canned foods). Poor [... read more]ly prepared food (e.g. deep fried fish was very greasy and did not taste good. Also the leftover was used in other form for the next day. The same risotto type food was served a few days in a row some times watery and sometimes dry.) Good food such as shrimp finished very quickly. We asked the staff to get more, she said "finished" in a rude way. We ended up eating spaghetti every day because that was the only food we could eat. 7. Not friendly staff. The majority of staff do not smile and do not greet even though they look straight into your eyes. 8. Some staff asking money. Many staff expecting tip; otherwise they do not smile, even though the hotel website says tips included. 9. Poor service e.g. many times no toilet paper in the public bathrooms; a few times no beach towels until the next day. 10. The blankets are very old and shabby.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Nice resort

This is a nice resort. The food was very good, the grounds were well kept, the rooms were large but could use updating. The staff was great and the line-ups were small. Nice beach with lots of chairs. Pool area OK . Entertainment a little weak. Overall a nice resort and would have no problems going back here.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Hot and cold!

We have visited Cuba many times but Never stayed at this resort. We are accustomed to hard beds. These beds were excellent. The room was spacious and very clean. Food was above standard. However, the usual excellent Cuba service was just not there. We waited for over half an hour at times for service, at the bar or at meals. Disappointing. The next day, it was fabulous, then back to lousy.

Paradisus Varadero: worth every penny

we chose to use the "Royal Service". the first amazing surprise was at the Veradero airport we got our own taxi to the resort rather than sharing the bus. room service to the room was great. Hang the tag on the door and they deliver breakfast at a time you chose. the bar and the pool and the a la cart restaurant were all great. they were for royal service guests only. since we went in early December they were not at capacity and there was no waiting for anything. the room was big. king size bed  [... read more]on request. an outdoor shower was exotic and romantic. large Jacuzzi tub was welcome. around the pool were "beds" with canopies. not enough but they were great when you got one. hammocks hanging in the trees. A lovely long walkway to the ocean directly from the pool. maybe a 1 minute walk to the ocean. the only let down was the beach in the royal service area was all rock. but the main beach was white sand. I was a little disappointed in the beach. I wasn't expecting so many rocks. lots of white white sand though. food was okay. the beef was not good. but lots of chicken, seafood and vegetarian options. the Mexican a la carte restaurant was the best. it was a restful quiet 5 days away. no one asking for money on the beach. not commercialized at all. great friendly staff. they wanted everything to be perfect and they checked often to make sure you were happy. I would go back in a second!!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Smile!

We had a most amazing time at Ocean Varadero. The facilities were clean,the beach was always stunning and the staff were always polite and accomodating. The Michael Jackson show was free but we would have paid money to see it. Mikes coffee bar was a great way to start off the day and the a la carte restaurants were first rate. We had a great time making friends with fellow travellors and the staff at the Lobby Bar; Justo had goosto, Nestor smiled magnificently and Jerry pitched ice cubes like a  [... read more]pro. Special mentions to the other lobby bar staff, Anisleidy,Rosana,Karina,Josia,Julaimi, Dariarri Dany and Katerine. Our glasses were always filled and they all knew how to make a flaming Sambuca! Grand Memories Varadero: Not Perfect but can be!

The Riu is well looked after almost immaculate with beautiful grounds. The staff is very polite,friendly and try to please. The shows are amazing. The food had great variety, although the heat lamps did not work very well and often cold at the buffets. The portions of the restaurants were somewhat small but then one can order 2 portions. The beach is lovely but not the white, fine powder sand that is on beaches closer to Varadero. You have to pay extra to keep your room after 12 which is 10 dollars per hour. The main complaint was from section near the disco which was very loud which is most of the regular rooms. Not sure why they can't move the disco away or keep door closed? Also the pools are not heated so best go in hot weather if that is your thing.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Should be 3 or 4 stars at the most

Rooms are not sound proof so if someone walks by your door talking you can hear everything. Public bathrooms were usually dirty and run down. They definitely need an upgrade. The service was great and very friendly! The food was excellent with lots of different choices. The Japanese restaurant was our favorite!

Hotel Bella Costa: Bad stomach because of the food

The staff were fantastic, always friendly and helpful with a smile. The grounds were beautiful. The pool and beach were nice. The room was below average. The food was very very poor. I had an upset stomach the whole trip, and I usually do not have stomach problems.

Hotel Bella Costa: Older resort, but amazing staff.

Yes this is an older resort and we were aware of that. The big problem we encouraged was the noise in our room due to the entertainment during the day and from the show at night. We paid more for an ocean view and we were but in room 246. Yes we had a partial ocean view but our balconie was facing the back of the stage for the nightly entertainment. The room was in bad condition. Mold on the ceiling old painted furniture and a discussing bathroom. The next night we asked to change room. They tol [... read more]d us we were going to loose out ocean view. No problem. We were placed in room 507. Ironically it had a view the road, golf course and then the ocean as well. (Otter side of the coast). We had a good time at the reaort. Food was not the best, but we always found something we liked. Go get a pizza at the reaort any ne'er the beach. Yumm!

hotel room, food, beach very nice unfortunately the airline company sponsoring the trip, sunwing, are terrible. paid for specific seats did not get them, late departure to varedero and very late departure from varedero.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Good holiday

Big resort, laid out well,building and grounds keep well(some repair and upkeep needed) enjoyed a quiet pool area away from main pool! Food okay-good comparing Cuba food, staff friendly and speak english

Sol Varadero Beach: good resort

Hotel was good for the value...met lots of great people. Travelled by myself, and i'm not much of a traveller, but the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and made it easy to get around. Would definitely recommend going there.

maid With purple acrylic nails never even showed up to clean - had to call main desk :/ but the buffet staff - all of the! were excellent and Alberto the bellboy was lovely! Beach is great, and pool too

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: GREAT

.WELL MAINTAINED, FRIENDLY ACCOMODATING.NOTE' NO ELEVATORS IN UNITS. BANK FOR EXCHANGE AT RESORT.LOTS OF EXCURSIONS. GREAT ENTERTAINMENT NIGHTLY. OTHER EATERIES OTHER THAN THE BUFFET WHICH ARE ALL PART OF THE "ALL INCLUSIVE"
