Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Good value

We visited September 19-26 through Air Transat with access to the Royal Golden Club. This was our second visit. The first time was in the first year it had opened without kids and we had a great time. The hotel seems to have become more family friendly so we decided to come here again with our kids (5 & 1) rather than try out another place. We booked last minute and got an excellent deal. We got to the hotel around 11 and rooms were not ready until 3pm. We expected this and packed our swim suits in our carry ons. We checked in, had some lunch got some towels and headed to the water park for a few hours. We did email ahead of time and ask for a third floor room with two beds. We got a second floor room in villa 28B which was fine. I didn't realize the sofa turned into a bed and they had brought a play pen for the baby to sleep in which meant we no longer needed the two beds. They're a little smaller than a double and not comfortable for two adults IMO. It took two days for them to come and switch it back to a king because a mattress topper wasn't available. Not a big deal, except every time I called about it (about 4 times) they would say someone was coming soon but they really weren't. The room was fine. Lots of space for a family of four. Concrete solid balconies on the second and third levels so the kids can play out there without working about loosing any toys. The way the shower was set up, water ended up on the floor sometimes. The spot where the make up mirror was placed was a bit dim. We booked this trip last minute and did not get to make our restaurant reservations in advanced and getting into our choice of restaurants was tough- especially since we only wanted earlier seatings. We ended up getting into the Frutos Del Mar, the japanese, the gourmet in tulum and the Mediterranean. The first time we went the Japanese was not available at all while we were there, on the third day a spot opened up. The Brazilian was not available at all while we were there. The gourmet restaurant in Tulum was our favourite. I think think the variety of food available could use some work in the Coba buffet. Yes, you can visit other restaurants which do have other options. Some of the theme nights didn't quite work- canadian night- there were beaver tails made and american night had doughnuts for dessert. Mexican night and the gala nights were good. I was getting tired of it by the last day. We had a few lunches and Akumal and Tulum depending on where we were that day. Akumal had coconut shrimp a few times which I never saw at Coba. The service could have been a bit more attentive in the buffet. Sometimes there was a wait for coffee/drinks. Not a deal breaker- especially for the price. By the end of the week they were doing surveys each night at things picked up. The drinks were strong. Didn't feel like I was drinking anything watered down. The bartenders in the golden club were our favourite. We usually had a spanish coffee in the lobby each evening. We were close to the Golden Lobby which was convenient for one of us to head to for drinks once the kids were in bed. We watched the dolphin show. It's 15 minutes. I was happy it was free. My 5 year old had a great time at the kids club. When we compared our days he always did more than us- olympic games on the beach, visiting the water park or beach planting trees on the beach, decorated t-shirts, making bracelets, watched movies etc. They also took them to lunch. We ran into the group a few times and the caregivers were definitely doing a good job. They also had evening activities at 8 for the kids- a parade, show, disco, face painting and balloons. Occasionally there were people dressed up in the buffet. One day when it rained they had a DJ and people dressed up in the lobby to keep kids entertained. They loved the waterpark. We spent more time there that I thought we would. There is always someone supervising it. They shut it down one day when a baby #2'd in the park. There are also a couple of kids swimming pools. There are free yoga classes at Tao at 8 am each day on the resort property in addition the gym and offerings at the hotels. We like big resorts with villas and walking for a bit to get to things. It's a good way to work off the food. The grounds and garden were lovely. We knew it's not right on the beach. We had no issues walking the 10 minutes with the stroller or taking the trolley if needed. The beach is huge. The coba area was the nicest but had some rocks. The Akumal area had more stuff from the sea but was shallow for a longer stretch. The beach is very kid/non swimmer friendly. Overall it was a very relaxing trip. We will try another part of the mayan riveria if we go here again but would recommend this hotel- especially if you get a good deal!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Soooooo Nice!

We stayed from Oct 4-11 and enjoyed everything about it. Location is excellent - so close to Tulum Ruins, X-El Ha, Akumal Beach, and Playa Del Carmen that you can take public transport! The resort is very clean and well maintained and all of the staff friendly and eager to please without appearing as though their fishing for tips. All of the guests from around the world who we met were just as impressed. Muchas Gracias. Volveremos!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing resort nothing short of AWESOME!!!

This resort was amazing for all ages from our children who loved the waterpark, shows and characters, to ourselves enjoying the pools, ocean and well-kept beach and entertainment! Grounds and hotel were very well kept and clean at all times. Food was good with a great selection. A la cartes were great as well. Staff went over and above to make you happy and this trip was definitely worth the money and this resort was one for the memory books!

Ocean Coral by H10: nice vacation

Nice clean rooms, friendly staff like Blanca the waitress who was always smiling . Long beach, great for long walks. Good variety of food. This is our second time at this resort but will not be our last .

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Beautiful resort!

We visited this resort in September, weather was hot ,beaches are beautiful, water crystal clear,you can see all the fishes swimming next to you.Food was excellent and plenty in buffet .Resort is very big,we enjoy walking in beautiful surroundings every evening after supper,we visit all 3 resorts and they all beautiful , very clean,people very friendly, services were outstanding.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: LOVED IT!

We went for our 25th wedding anniversary Sept 21-28. This resort was recommended to us by a friend who stayed here last year and he could not stop talking about. So out of all the places that we looked at we decided on the Valentin because of all the good things he said about it. We were not disappointed! Service is incredible, the food was amazing, the grounds were beautiful and our standard room felt like we were in concierge. We had a bottle of champagne, chocolate lava cake and rose petals all over the bed to welcome us for our special day! Turn down service, slippers and bathrobes, free safe, free wifi and 24hr room service was AWSOME! The pool is great and you even got served your drinks on the beach! No need to get up. The staff work really hard for you and we never felt like they worked harder for tips. The maid for our room didn't even take my tips I left daily! The beach was ok, but there was a lot of seaweed and the water was a bit rough. They have a sea turtle program on the beach where the eggs are protected. Very nice! Overall, we didn't want to leave. By the end of the week you're sick of food since there is so much and it's so good. All the ala carts were delicious and the wait staff were fantastic. All in all I have to say thanks to our friend for recommending this resort. We will be back!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Very good resort

The entire place was clean beautiful and had lots of sites to see. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. Definitely stay there again. Beach was beautiful clean and lots of room. Liked how the pool went from one end to another and you could swim or walk it

Paradisus La Perla Adults Only Riviera Maya: Top Resort.

The Paradisus La Perla is a top resort! From the moment we arrived we knew that we were going to have a great holiday. The resort is beautifully designed with large pools, gardens, and sitting areas. We particularly enjoyed the food and the service! We were treated like Royalty and you never had to wait on a thing. The entertainment at the resort is spectacular and authentic. Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great Stay!

Loved this resort - Great food, beautiful beach and cold drinks. What more can you ask for in a holiday! We chose the adult section and while it was the farthest from the beach we enjoyed the peace and quiet. There is a golf cart or van that will take you to the meeting point which is near the beach. The beds are very hard, ask for a mattress pad if they are available. Would definitely return.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Very Nice Resort

The resort was sprawling. The staff were excellent: very friendly and helpful. The food was great and dining at the numerous A La Carte Restaurants was always a good experience. We enjoyed the pools and wish the entire beach area could have been as nice as the area in front of the Colonial resort. The rooms were a tad tired and could use a little refurbishing- I personally found the bed uncomfortable/too hard. The grounds were beautiful and there was always someone to cart you to another section [... read more] of the resort. Loved the SPA ( we had couples massage). Was a very nice resort.

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: Great Vacation With Friends

This resort is very big, so bring your walking shoes. They do provide some golf carts, trains and transportation throughout the resort which is great. The staff was amazing, went above and beyond to make our vacation fun. The a la carte restaurant were great, service was great,food was five star, no reservations needed. We ate at a different restaurant every night. Good show, nice music in the lobby at night. Our only complaint was the beach, not as nice as some that we have been to. A lot of se [... read more]a weed and they weren't cleaning it up so it smelled really bad and you can only swim in one area. The rooms need to be up dated but the are large and kept clean by the staff.

El Dorado Royale: it just gets better and better!

You would think after 11 visits to El Dorado Royale...we would have enough and try some others,Well the truth is we have tried others and now say" forget the rest we have found the best"!! And as the title say it does get better every time we return.Each time we say well that was so good how could they improve it!!! but everytime we go back they have something new and improved. The staff at this resort are just so amazing and some of them have been hear since it opened in 2001. All the restaurants at the resort are so good, people always ask us what is our fav...well I have to say we love Kampai, the pacific rim restaurant...they have the very best Pad Thai I have ever had ...don't miss it. The dinner theatre Fuentes restaurant is a great night out also and if you love wine ,do the wine pairing...its an extra charge but so worth it. Santa Fe is also a good choice with the Bellini Bar for a pre dinner drink. The management treated us to an outstanding 7 course dinner at the chiefs table at the Italian restaurant in the casitas.....It was out of this world ...prepaired for just my husband and I...what a treat ...who could ask for more!! The entertainment teams are some of the greatest you men you will meet ..Cesar, Daniel, Deago and Cristian will do all they can to ensure you have a great time. We like to say if you cant have fun here...well you just cant have fun! Oh don't miss the Martini bar in the lobby!!! Awesome top shelf drinks and the bartenders are a great bunch also. Give it a try im sure we will be going back to our fav place on the planet!

Oasis Tulum: oasis tulum casa club

Stayed at the oasis tulum in September foe the second time. It has changed.firstly the room we booked was the superior fun room.this section of the hotel wasn't open when we were there two yeara ago.it is called the casa club and is a 5 minute walk from the reat of the resort. Very misleading. In order to upgradw to the oasis section it costs $350 for the week. The curious thing is that the oasis tulum and grand oasia tulum share the same lobby but are listed as separate resorts but the casa is  [... read more]separate but not listed as such.most people made this $350 mistake. Since we were there laat they now separate the servicea given to the grand oasis and dont allow other guests access to certain a la cartes and the bar in thw lobby. Also the section we stayed in laat time is now the privileged section and the beautiful garden haa given way to pools and hot tubs. The food and drinks and service are still good.they have added thw happy chicken snack bar.the snorkeling is good.the reef is actually showing signs of repair. The location is ideal and close to akumal. Great dive guys. Emiliano is the best

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Fantastic Resort!

This resort was FANTASTIC! Facilities, staff, food, pools all AMAZING! From start to finish the trip was perfect, Staff were organized and prepared for our arrival and departure! Service was amazing! This vacation exceeded our expectations on every level! The only one thing that was less then perfect was the beaches, there was an abundance of seaweed washing up, but the resort did everything in their power to clean the beaches for use and apparently this is outside the norm for the beaches there [... read more] and it was due to recent storms in the area! Didn't bother us at all!

Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Loved our stay

My daughter and I went to the resort in late September, 2014. We loved this resort. The weather was great. Hot but hummid by late afternoon it would cloud over and make it a little more comfortable. The pool areas were amazing. There was an area for everyone. The beach was nice but the water was a little choppy due to the season. Service at the bars were good and we found the food at the buffet good as well. The only thing we could not figure out was what time the snack bar was open near the poo [... read more]l as it never seem to be open but fortunately the snack bar at the beach which is very close to the pool area as well was open. Transportation around the resort was quick as well, we never really had to wait long for a trolly to take us where we wanted to go. Definately going back.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Excellent Resort.

Beautiful resort on the ocean, everything is kept exceptionally clean the staff are friendly and very helpful. The staff go out of their way to make your stay a good one. The rooms were excellent and in good condition. The grounds around the resort are kept pristine. We booked with the Golden Package and I would highly recomend it as it gives you a special check in desk and lobby. Extra al a cart dinner reservations and access to 3 of the 4 resorts for both use and dinner. We booked all our excu [... read more]rsions with the Scuba shop. We did 3 snorkel tours and a Scuba dive, all excellent. I would recomend the snorkelling with turtles, as we saw huge turtles and some stingrays. Snorkelling in the Cenotes (caves) was excellent. Snorkelling in Cozumel was also an excellent trip. The resort is huge and they have little trains to move you from place to place. The food was excellent especiially in the al a carts. The beach ranged from rocky to sandy as the resort covers atleast 2km of coastline. CONS.. Its a short list but worth mentioning the steps in the resort are made of beautiful granite. They are really dangerous when wet, as you will find out when your in a hurry or not paying attention. Also they turn out all the lights in the resort around 5 -530 am. I doesnt matter unless your flight leaves early in the morning and you need to get to the lobby and its really dark. I did address this with the manager so hopefully this has been corected.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Great Place to vacation

There was no disappointments. The staff and entertainment group were awesome at service and keeping the guests entertained and happy. I love the huge ground and walking thru the lush jungle like grounds.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: very good for family

we just came back from this resort on 26 Sept, 2014. It was our fourth visit there. With better prices, this place is excellent place for families. Only thing i do not like this time was, Time sharing people. So be careful from them.There way is very tricky.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Amazing hotel and staff!

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. There are a lot of private spots where you can go off the beaten path and have quiet time, if you choose. I particularly liked the hammocks on the beach and the swinging beds with thick mattresses and pillows where you could lay in the shade or sun. The pool is spectacular with comfortable chairs. The staff is always there to cater to your every need. The beach is long and clean, with vendors selling everything from jewellery, blankets, beach cover  [... read more]ups, sunglasses and cigars. They are not pushy and respect when you say no. I highly recommend this resort. We stayed in the 1600 room section, which was half way between the beach and front lobby. I recommend this area, as you are close to everything. We were happy to walk after eating each meal.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Fantastic

GreaT time was had and will go again in the near future maybe in 2016 beaches were clean resort was clean and had great service alround the week went by to fast. Food was amazing lots of variety to choose from. It's my first visit to mexico and I loved it
