Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful time again at the Royal Decameron
We so enjoy coming back to the Royal Decameron near Bucerias. The hotel is large enough to have variety with the 5 better dining options and two buffets. You don't come here for pool and beach service, or a fridge and coffee maker in your room - we don't need that! We come for the easy going atmosphere, the returning guests year after year, the wonderful staff there. The grounds are nice, you are close to walk into Bucerias, they have stretch classes on the beach and bicycles to borrow. The[... read more] beach is excellent with walking available in both directions. There are beach locations for a one hour massage for just $20.00 USD.
My only suggestions to the hotel would be, a hook in the public washrooms to hang a towel or bag, better wine and a few more umbrellas for shade at the Adult pool. Otherwise we LOVE it hear and will keep returning back.

Riu Flamingos: Stay away
I’ve stayed at many rius over the years from lead in to palaces in multiple destinations and have never had a negative review about the chain.
I just came back from a week at the Riu Jalisco and I must say I was quite disappointed.
I really hope it’s just because it’s end of high season.
I have nothing against the locals paying to come on property but their defiantly being favoured over Canadians etc.
We’re being told we can’t wear a cotton t shirt into the pool (never hear[... read more]d of this and we own a pool), no balls or floats in the pool, I get rules are rules but if you tell us no you have to tell the locals as well. We just stayed at the Riu negril in December and we could wear cotton shirts in the pool, play with balls etc, why isn't it consistent with all the hotels in the chain? When we ask for an explanation they just say they don’t speak English. You’re in the service industry as security and a lifeguard you should be able to speak both dealing with the public. Don’t have to be fluent but should be able to hold a conversation.
Someone has been in our rooms and we’ve noticed items moved or misplaced and it’s not the maid or mini bar guy as the rooms were still dirty and fridge still not stocked. When we ask front desk they say they don’t know and will de activate cards. Very strange.
The food is the same every day, maybe it’s bc start of low season? I’ve stayed at lots of Rius and always impressed by the selection and quality.
No clean towels for the room, the hotel is not even 100% occupancy I’m very surprised 2 days into the trip a shortage of towels daily. We’re going into the hallways tracking down the maids begging for a towel or 2.
Tons of palapas along the pool which was great for the kids being in the shade, but when they nap I want to enjoy the sunshine so would move my chair out and then minutes later I’m being told off that I can’t move the chairs like that?!
We were taking family photos along the coast and grass edge and again security comes over and tells us we can’t take pictures here. Go down to the beach to finish our shoot and come back watching a Mexican family taking photos at the grass edge and nothing is being said as security watches on.
Again no consistency I’ll be told you can’t come in without sandals again another rule no problem I’ll go get them, but then I’m coming back in and someone else same thing bare foot and they just smile and welcome them in.
I felt like we were targeted, everywhere we went eyes were on us. I’m playing in the pool with my kids and the lifeguard is pointing at my family and I can overhear him complaining about us.
At that time I’m furious I go to the front desk to complain and was told these are the policies of the hotel.
We defiantly made the best of it and was happy for each others company but I’m so disappointed with our experience.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: AMAZING TIME
We enjoyed our time at Decameron Los Cocos very much. The food and staff were great, the rooms were a little dated but very clean. There were many Mexican families at the resort and sometimes it got a little noisy but all in all it was a GREAT experience. If you want to see some of REAL Mexico this is the place to go. Great beach to walk on and Rincon de Guyabitos was a tipical Mexican resort town.

Temptation Resort & Spa: First Timer Review - Great Resort
First time visiting and we will definitely be going back.
Party vibe is great, lots of great people. Pools are a lot of fun, restaurants were all really good besides the sea food restaurant surprisingly. Only complaint would be the rooms are more artsy than they are practical (no where to hang anything, only 2 drawers and the cabinet doors are ridiculous as they don't stay closed)
Also front counter staff not the most helpful/friendly but ALL other staff in the resort were amazing
We [... read more]are already planning our return trip so we definitely recommend if you want to go somewhere to party

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful, Well Kept Resort
The resort is huge with lots of options for food, pools and activities. The resort, including the rooms, is clean and well kept. The pools were very nice, towel service was easy, and it was never a problem finding a chair (mid April). The food at the restaurants and buffets was very good with lots of selection. The Gran Tortuga-Rodizio Restaurant has a buffet for breakfast and lunch and is a wonderful place to eat overlooking the ocean. There is a pool beside this restaurant which is quieter tha[... read more]n the main pool, and the bar is never busy. The shuttle service between the other sections of the resort is quick and efficient. The only downside was that the beach was full of seaweed, but they were working around the clock to try to clear it away.

Dreams Huatulco: Relaxing week of pure sunshine
Recently returned form the Dreams Huatulco resort after a week of total relaxation. Found the resort to be very clean with great staff. Knowing ahead of time the beach situation with regards to the undertow and extra caution when swimming we were very comfortable around the pool areas and beach days were relaxing listening to the waves crashing. Comfortable and clean rooms however the resort is showing its age. Food options were good and though we never went hungry the choices were not outstand[... read more]ing compared to our visit last year at the neighboring Barcelo Huatulco. We did find we were often rushed through our dining experiences even when the Al a cartes were not busy. It was as if once you've ordered everything arrived one course after another with little time to spare in between. All in all a good resort, the price was a little higher than we've paid for those I'd rank higher, but we were not disappointed.

Crown Paradise Golden: Wonderful hotel
We have visited Golden Crown at least 6 times and are never disappointed. The staff are amazing. The food is good and the service is second to none. We will definitely be back next year. We love having the bar level with the beach that is wheelchair accessible. It is quite wheelchair friendly at the family side as well so we can enjoy all the restaurants and both buffets.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Fantastic Resort
This resort was absolutely amazing! The best part was the fantastic friendly and helpful staff, from the reception to the waiters to bellboys and maids! The rooms were clean and neat! The resort was full of things to do. There is shopping, a casino, bars, beaches, pools, water sports, a dolphinarium...to mention a few! I would go back in a heartbeat! The only negative is the timeshare people promoting Bahia priveledge club, they were rather annoying until you were firm and said no.The a la carte[... read more] restaurants were utterly delicious, the buffets were average to good.
Other than that it was a perfect vacation! I would highly recommend!

Grand Riviera Princess: Great time
This is a well kept resort. Very big landscape. Staff was friendly. Room was very clean and cleaned everything every day. Beach is nice but lots of seaweed and rocks at shore. Once in the water is great, your can walk for a long time with water still to the hips. Some days food was ok and some days it was great.

The Valentin Imperial Maya is an amazing resort. We stayed there on our third stay the week of April 14,2018.If you enjoy walking this resort is for you, although all you have to do is call for a ride if you don’t feel like walking. Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: Loved the Finest!
We recently enjoyed a week long family vacation at the Finest Playa Mujeres. This was by far the best resort that we have ever visited. The rooms, pools, beach and food were all excellent. The resort truly stands out for their staff - always friendly and hard working, and their kids club, which was amazing.
We look forward to returning again soon!

Barcelo Maya Palace: Still our favourite
We just returned from a week at the Barceló Maya Palace. We had stayed here the first year the Palace opened & we were pleased that not much has changed. Grounds are beautiful, beach is lovely although a seaweed problem is plaguing the entire Caribbean. Has a problem with a leaking fridge which we mentioned to the fellow who delivered our luggage & he immediately got on the phone to have it addressed. Within 30 minutes another person arrived & had it working perfectly. Rain shower was great [... read more]particularly when the shower in the tub did not work (we didn't care). Rooms getting a bit worn around the edges but still very nice & clean. Mattress & bedding was very good & A/C more than sufficient. Loved the buffet & actually cancelled reservations for the a la carte restaurants we had booked. The gym is by far the best gym we have experienced at a resort. We will be back again next year! One complaint....slow check-in but we were okay with it.
