Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing Resort and Service

We were at the GBP Akumal Golden from Aug. 29th to Sept. 5th and it was one of the best trip we've ever had. The entire place was spotless because of the hardworking staff. We enjoyed the buffet food as they have so much variety everyday that you don't even have to go to the a la cartes. Patricia and the other servers were very attentive and always with a smile. The beach was awesome, specially the pools with their jacuzzi. Our rooms are cleaned everyday and fridge stocked. The only reason I did [... read more]n't rate this as a five star, since the decor and bed in the rooms could be updated, and the aircondition to work more efficiently. We stayed at building 66 and had the oceanview, however every morning, they would have delivery trucks parked infront of our balcony. We were out most of the time, so this was very minor. Next time we'll have the higher floors. Overall this resort is fantastic and would return in a heartbeat!

TRS Yucatan: Spend a little more and stay at the Royal Suites

It was fantastic. We spent the extra money and stay at the Royal Suites. The perks that you get are phenomenal! Especially access to the spa, the exclusive restaurant El Jardin and the taxi service! It was fantastic!! Will definetly return!

Grand Palladium Select White Sand: palladium white sand resort

I would not recommend this hotel. It smelled like mold. Our flight out of toronto was delayed so we got to the hotel at 4 in the afternoon no were to eat everything opend at 6 for dinner. Front desk no open spoke english so they were no help if you had any questions.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: TIME SHARE SCAM - STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL

This hotel is geared to sell you time shares. Period. The food sucks. Period. I compare the quality of food to The princess and the River Maya hotels in the same part of Mexico. Got suckered into putting 25% deposit on time share. Upon getting home and trying to book a vacation it is more expensive to book thru time share then an on line travel agent. Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: All right, ... sort of.

A long way from the airport - 1 1/2 hours? Huge, impersonal architecture. Bathroom has a large opening into the bedroom, not the doorway - very odd! The safe in the bedroom is extra ($30?), despite the Tripcentral quote! The concierge? staff in the buildings are very sly at trying to upgrade you for timeshares - beware. The beach is nice but very small. Watch out for coral burns on the rocks. It can take a month or more to heal. The food is good. We didn't view any of the entertainment. Grand Palladium Select White Sand: This is an amazing & HUGE resort.Simply beautiful.

Very clean resort, loved the washrooms all around the resort always clean. You can see and do things all day long. More than enough swimming pools and bars to enjoy! Food in any place you ate, be it at the buffet or at the restaurants a la carte, just to die for. Delicious!!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: EXCELLENT!

My husband and I stayed here recently from aug 25th-sept 1st. We absolutely loved it. The food was great, the staff were always helpful and very polite. One staff member who stood out for us was Manuel. He worked breakfast and Lunch at the buffet and was the most polite and funny waiter we've ever experienced. Our room was fantastic, although we did have a broken door handle on our rooftop door, leading to the Jacuzzi which they fixed the next day. The resort is so peaceful and quiet, with not too many people, which was great for us when we compared it to tulum or coba because these two were always busy when we took the shuttle over. The pools were beautiful, and were never too packed. The water in the pools was always clean. One thing I will add about this resort is that the workers are constantly working to keep it in tip top shape. Unlike other resort I've visited which you sometimes don't see many staff anywhere. If your an adult looking for something quiet and in a wooded peaceful location this is your place!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Ok Resort, Roaches!!!

The overall experience was good, however our room at least had an infestation of cockroaches. It was really bad! Besides that the food was good, the pools and beaches were nice and the experience was good. The only other notable concern was the lack of friendliness of the staff. Generally when we had any issues with the room that needed to be addressed, the staff would agree to fix it and never contact us back.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing time

Travel on August 22 to August 27. Amazing time. Great hotel, great food. Room was facing the lazyriver pool. Room super nice. Wake up in the morning with a gentle music and hearing birds. So peaceful. Beach was beautiful. Drinks were good. Staff very friendly. Would recommend this one to family and friends.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Will Return

This resort was fantastic. Very clean, excellent food at both the buffets and the a la cartes at dinner (be mindful about the dress code! Dudes have to wear pants and closed shoes at dinner!!). My husband and I went snorkelling off the resort, giving us the opportunity to sail by a lot of the other resorts in the area. By far the Valentin had the nicest and widest beach area! So interesting to see how different each resort had theirs laid out. By wildlife, I do not mean jaguars haha. There are iguanas roaming around which are pretty cool to look at, these small things called Coati that are in the racoon family but the size of a house cat and have these long tails - needless to say these were Adorable and I have lots of pictures of them! Also something that looked like a baby hippo/mouse/deer hybrid called an Agouti. Really lovely grounds. In summary, we will definitely go back here because (a) food was fantastic, (b) everything was spotless, (c) great service, (d) there's more excursions i want to do that i didn't have time for! OOH and also, 24 hour room service that's included in your stay price - how decadent!!

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Everything good except the beach

Everything was pretty good except one night we had a lizard on our wall in our suite. We chased it away but it crawled into a crevice in the ceiling so we were worried it would crawl out while we slept & drop on our bed. Also, the beach was rocky & had too much seaweed.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Wow!

Valentin Imperial Maya-awesome I The food was AMAZING!!! The restaurants L'Alsace (French) and L'Olivio (Italian) were above and beyond my expectations. The Mar and Tierra was good. The resort was in great condition and the landscaping was lush and very well kept. The place is huge which meant a lot of walking around. The beach was perfect; the towel game was going on, but we always managed to get a palapa. The ocean was perfect.Nice sand and minimal seaweed. Beach service was exceptional, cold  [... read more]drinks delivered right to your palapa. Please tip those hard workers appropriately. We certainly enjoyed our stay here and would love to return.

El Dorado Royale: Amazing resort !

El Dorado Royale is amazing for a honeymoon! The bedroom with balcony and hammock was very beautiful, confortable and spacious. A lot of restaurants ! The personal was very kind and the place is fantastic!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort but needs upgrades

The resort was nice, very big but nice. We were very disappointed that the pools were bath tub hot - not refreshing at all. Resort needs a better cooling system for the pools. Restaurants were ok - main buffet was always very, very hot. We travel to Mexico every summer so we are aware of what is possible and how hot the climate is but these common places had no a/c at all. We went to the attendant at the pool hut and had him call for sanitation of the pool deck and pool itself. No one came for more than an hour and the pool was not treated. Needless to say we did not go in the pools again. Gross!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Worst vacation ever!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Sian Ka’an from April 11-18, 2014. This was absolutely our worst vacation ever. Things that made our trip horrible were the following: 1) Not enough umbrellas and chairs at the pool – you would think that they would make sure that they have plenty of shade for all of their guests but not at the Sian Ka’an. The pool only had 4 umbrellas available and you have to get up at 5am to make sure you got one. People were stealing umbrella and chairs from people when the [... read more]y left for lunch or were gone more than 30 minutes. I understand that after 1 hour it should be ok but people needed shade so badly they just took form others. 2) Not enough chairs and tables in the lobby. If you had dinner after 8pm and then headed to the lobby for a drink and to watch the show, good luck trying to find at table and chair to sit on. It was ridiculous, people were having to stand to enjoy a drink and the show 3) Towels and turndown service – The towels in the room were like sand paper. It was ok for the first couple of days but after being in the sun all day for a couple of days you don’t want to dry off with something that rubs your skin off. We only received turn down service twice during our entire stay. The 2 times we did get it, they did not replenish our towels. I had asked the maid for a towel and she told me 10 minutes, she dd not return with a new towel 4) No swim up bar and no waiter service at pool – We knew going here that there was no swimup bar from the reviews we had read. What we were expecting though was pool side drink service. We only got that once. All the other times we had to get out of the pool and get in a line to get a drink 5) Pools are too small and shallow – The pools are way to small for the amount of people that go swimming. At some points later in the day you couldn’t even get into the pool because it was too packed. 6) Bathrooms not close to pool. The bathrooms were not close to the pool at all. You know what this means…….. 7) No full length mirror and dresser. There was no full length mirror in the room, what this meant was while my boyfriend was showering I had to get ready in the bathroom mirror while it was all foggy and hot and I’m a bit short so I could never see my full outfit. There was also no dresser to put your items in that didn’t need to be hung up. When I go on vacation I like to relax, turn my mind off and just go with the flow. At the Sian Ka’an it is impossible to relax, you have to always be aware of the time to make sure you get a set somewhere, make sure nobody steals your chair or umbrella and no huge line up during eating times. The only 3 things that were great about the trip was the food, drinks and the sun but you can find these at anyone resort. I would definitely not return to the Sian Ka’an or recommend this resort to anyon

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Good resort

The buffet restaurants not much variety compare to other resorts I have been to like the Riu's and Bahias. Swimming pools are exceptional lots of choice the grounds are very well manicured the A La Carte Restaurants very good entertainment at night was ok, the service in some area's lack but overall this resort should be 4 rating also the room was very nice but facing construction site for there is a new Yucatan adult resort being built and almost completed so I guess that is part of expansion.  [... read more]Would recommend to anyone it is god for value but by far not an Iberostar, Riu, Bahai.

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: You get what you pay for

If you are looking for a cheap holiday and want to lose weight this is the place for you. I would say this resort is 3 star at best. The food is horrible, I cant say anything about the A La Cartes because we didn't go. They are not air conditioned (or if they were they didn't use it) and for men to wear long pants in 100 degree weather with 90% humidity is not acceptable. The resort is very large and spread out and if you are not into walking don't go. You cannot rely on the shuttle service beca [... read more]use they are few and far between. This resort was clean and the pools were okay but if you wanted seating at the pools you had to get there early. My husband was getting up a 4 am to put our towels out because by 6 there were slim pickings for prime real estate. Staff was okay in some areas but if you didn't speak Spanish they ignored you. We had a "romance:" room that had this great big gaping opening between the room and the bathroom so if you are travelling with kids or just a little shy then don't go for the new section because having someone watch you washing your bits or showering or going to the toilet is a little too much for me. Yes there are doors on the shower stall and toilet room but they are glass and totally visible from the room. The resort was clean but that's about all. This was my second stay at a Sirenis resort and definitely my last. There are way nicer resorts in the Mayan Riviera that I would try before this one.

Akumal Beach Resort: Nice Hotel

Nice hotel, no fridge in rooms, booze was poor, room was very nice, people were very friendly { not always asking for a tip, like in Cuba}, food was good. Lack of huts in the shade{ get up early to reserve 1 }, view was very good, snorkeling OK, wind that week was 24/7 so water was murky. There were more +'s than -'s. We knew it wasn't a 5 star to start out, so expectations weren't that high. We had a nice trip.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Amazing resort to stay at!!

Amazing resort , great restaurants, wonderful staff ! I had an amazing time for my first time in Mexico. I would recommend this resort to everyone. The grounds were well kept, staff were great, the ocean view was gorgeous. Loved it here

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: okay at best

Hi.....we were at this ressort from August 5 to to August the 12......in general everything was okay....we had issues with the pool and beach beds being reserved by 6 am......also for some strange reason most of the ressort had little or no air conditioning....never gave us a true answer why.....we believe it was to save money....they were at best keeping it at 25 cel.......the beaches in this area are average at best.......not sure I would recommend this hotel to a friend....the issues we had w [... read more]e major and made the stay quite uncomfortable....
