Above said walking path is also used by all service vehicle so you will often have to give way to them. Conclusion: Stay away from this place. The staff is not the problem here, the concept and management are. In our 7 days stay we met and talked to 4 Americans, 4 from England, 2 from NB Canada, 2 from Grandby Qc (one of which slipped and fell and hurt herself on wet floor in room), a family from Ontario (another who twisted her ankle on side walk), one woman from Gaspésie Qc, all of these people said they will never go back to Mexico. We met 4 more from NB and did not ask their opinion as they were happily drunk for the most part. Day 1 Arrival was without major incident. We waited more than we should have in the bus at the airport. Learned mid-way in route that it was because of 4 missing passengers and that they had been detained at customs for bring cigars into Mexico. Check in ok, bags no problems. It's about 3pm, Ok now try to find your room. Room number has 5 digits, 32032, building has another set of single or double digit, 3. All this is explained and written on your key card pouch. NO ONE TELLS YOU THAT EACH BUILDING HAS 2 SIDES IDENTICFIED BY A or B. And you can't just cut across the building …. oh no,,, you have to walk around it. Building signage …. good one side only and small print. You have to walk close to it to see the fine print of your 5-digit room number and then look at the other side of said sign for the building # and the A or B. Then you spend the next 2 or 3 days trying to find yourself using the 5-inch square map they provide shows somewhat the roads but then overlapped by square blocks to show you where the Lobbies are. Magnifying glass not included and North is at about 50 degrees east. Day 2 Get lost. Return to where you think you come from. Get lost again. Recognize 2 sets of large water tanks laying on their sides and these become your road beacons. Thank you, Tanks, day or night I can see, you and feel safe knowing I am on my way to my room. Cafeteria. Few if any tables are ready. Seems low on staff. Not very organized. Foods was consistent and good all week. Find one of 3 pools. Although the third is located near my tank beacon and I call this one the small pool with large bar. Full size bar for about 20 people pool capacity. Afternoon we want to find beach. Take shuttle service as it would take about 30 minutes' walk each way in 32 degrees Celsius. The beach..... well.... it is man made for the most part, with break water cement barriers creating a series of ponds where sea algae collect's and brave staff work to remove every day and where you are expected to swim as the rest is roped off for your own protection. Even by Toronto standards this hardly qualifies as a beach at a 5-star resort. Day 3. Don't get lost, find your way and even learn shortcut to pool of your liking. Service at breakfast is the same. Often no one to greet you at the entrance door and sometimes no hand disinfectant either. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Entertainment evening show.... He's bad, He's bad....Michael Jackson ladies and gents. 6 dancers on stage 3 new how to dance 3 had learned the steps. Day 4 Don't get lost, find your way and even learn shortcut to pool of your liking. Service at breakfast is the same. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Entertainment evening show looks like karaoke not very good at all. Mostly can't hit the notes. Day 5 Don’t get lost, help people who are lost. Service at breakfast is the same. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Magic show... I hear it was nice …. it lasted about 45 minutes. Get ready for bed, turn lights out, 15 minutes later water can be heard dripping on the floor. I see it comes from the ceiling and we are on the top floor. The AC is leaking, floor extremely slippery. Call front desk and problem solved in about 30 minutes. Day 6 Don’t get lost, help people who are lost. Service at breakfast is better, even management is pitching in. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Day 7 Heavy rain and lightning for most of the afternoon. Lightning causes a few power failures. AC in our room does not recover from power failure and does not cool any longer. Service man came fast but was more interested by the movie playing on our TV than resolving the issue. We used the ceiling fane that night.

Finest Playa Mujeres by Excellence Group: Loved the Finest!

We recently enjoyed a week long family vacation at the Finest Playa Mujeres. This was by far the best resort that we have ever visited. The rooms, pools, beach and food were all excellent. The resort truly stands out for their staff - always friendly and hard working, and their kids club, which was amazing. We look forward to returning again soon!

Grand Riviera Princess: Terrific vacation At the river is Princess Family suites

This is a large resort and exactly as described.The rooms are large clean and comfortable. A large resort with a lot of walking,pools are warm large and you have a choice of quiet or entertainment. The beach would be very nice if not for the seaweed that has accumulated . There is no clean up going on so that is an issue.Food was good plenty to choose fun ,buffet nice and fresh with variety. If any mobility issues this is mot the place for you

Barcelo Maya Palace: Still our favourite

We just returned from a week at the Barceló Maya Palace. We had stayed here the first year the Palace opened & we were pleased that not much has changed. Grounds are beautiful, beach is lovely although a seaweed problem is plaguing the entire Caribbean. Has a problem with a leaking fridge which we mentioned to the fellow who delivered our luggage & he immediately got on the phone to have it addressed. Within 30 minutes another person arrived & had it working perfectly. Rain shower was great  [... read more]particularly when the shower in the tub did not work (we didn't care). Rooms getting a bit worn around the edges but still very nice & clean. Mattress & bedding was very good & A/C more than sufficient. Loved the buffet & actually cancelled reservations for the a la carte restaurants we had booked. The gym is by far the best gym we have experienced at a resort. We will be back again next year! One complaint....slow check-in but we were okay with it.

Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta: Incredible experience!!

I would have to say all the places I have traveled that this was the best resort yet . The food , cleanliness and fantastic staff made it a very pleasurable vacation. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who would like to be pampered.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Riu Palace great as advertised

Despite reading reviews that hotel was dated, we found it to be authentic Mexican with lots of real wood trim and decor. Sure the odd floor tile was chipped,but who cares. Food at buffet was varied, hot and delicious. Lobster bbq on beach one day, and lobster offered again the next day at dinner in buffet. Delicious each time. Another day it was medium rare filet mignon, juicy, tender and delicious. Beds were comfortable. Water pressure was good in shower. Room was kept spotless as well  [... read more]as public areas of hotel and grounds. Staff were all smiling and friendly.

Barcelo Karmina: OK

NO GUACAMOLE! Sad because it is available and expected every other resort I stayed at. The resort itself is nice but has a limited number of English speaking staff which can be challenging at times. Easy to find a beach or poolside lounger, even at 10 or 11 am. Buffet was quite repetitive but lots of variety. Considering Manzanillo does not have as much tourist development as other parts of Mexico, not much to see outside resort.

Riu Palace Mexico: Excellent Resort!

The rooms were amazing and always cleaned nicely daily. The grounds around the resort were always tidy and clean. The beach was nice lots of chairs and many shaded areas. The food was amazing and lots of different items to choose from ther was something for everyone.

Grand Sunset Princess: Good resort

Just got back, stayed in the sunset side April 13-20 2018, had deluxe junior suite. We flew Sunwing and they had us packed in like a can of sardines, not comfortable at all. They managed to give you a drink thats all, they don't even give you a pack of crackers during a 6 a half hour flight. You have to pay for all snacks, all a $$ grab. You best use the washroom before they start serving because once they start you cannot get through the aisle and its a slow process. They also only give y [... read more]ou 4 hrs before your trip to check in, so you know your gonna pay for your seat to make sure you get a seat together with your partner weeks before your departures, another $$ grab. Check in was a little aggravating, our flight was hour early so we had to wait 3 hours for a room. They couldn't tell us when it would be ready so had to keep checking back. Other than that our stay was fabulous, no complaints with the resort. Resort is clean and well lite up at night. Bands in the lobby ever night was great. Lots and lots of food choices and many food stations in the buffets each day and night, the grill by the pool bar was full of burgers and hotdogs so that was great quick stop, they bbq around 700 burgers and 400 hotdogs a day. Pool service was fabulous, thanks to Mariana Gomez for the awesome friendly service whom brought us so many different cocktails. Never had any trouble getting loungers around the swim out pool section. Always went down around 7:45 and found a umbrella for shade. Lots of seaweed on the beach, nothing you can do with that. Tractors did try and keep in under control. Lots of wildlife around the resort. Friendly cats hung out around the statues, lots of coati, iguanas, doves and other birds. We always try a different resort, in saying that I would return to this resort again.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Did not meet our expectations

I will start out by saying the staff at the hotel were all very friendly and helpful. This hotel is not for anyone that likes the beach. The picture shown to the left does not represent what we saw. The first day we went to the beach and you could not get to the water for the seaweed and the smell from the seaweed. A couple of days later we went back that they were cleaning it up. We never ventured out onto the sand. We enjoyed the pool area along the swim up rooms and the lounge chairs.  [... read more]We spend our time sitting under the pergola's. The activity pool with the swim up bar got very noisy in the afternoon. This is also not a hotel to pick if you have trouble walking. The basic rooms are the farthest away from the restaurants. You have to upgrade your room to get closer to the restaurant. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms spacious. Our only complaint about the room was the musty smell in the closet. I had to wash everything that I had in my suitcase and spray my suitcase with Lysol when I got home.

Riu Flamingos: Not bad, not Great.

My husband and I had a great time basking in the sun. We booked this vacation last minute for an escape from the unrelenting snow and this resort did exactly what it needed to do - Riu Jalisco was just okay. The room was clean and comfortable, the beach was nice and the pool was good. The food was horrible, we did have a couple tasty meals but stay away from the steak, it's more like jerky. We had our best meal at the Mexican restaurant and highly recommend the chicken fajitas. Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Another great vacation in Ixtapa

This was my second time staying at the Sunscape Dorado Pacifico. The food is great, drinks are amazing, staff are helpful/friendly and the place is clean and presentable. The beach at the resort is fantastic and I enjoy the shows they put on for entertainment. My only complaint would be add more seats to the swim up and outdoor bars.

Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort and Spa: Amazing Resort

The place was beautiful clean well kept, people that worked there were very nice and helpful. The rooms and view were just so beautiful. The only thing I did not like was the food in the buffet area .

Dreams Jade Resort and Spa: Great Resort

Great resort with nice pools and lots of amenities. My only complaint was the beach. The beach was small with lots of seaweed. The pictures that the resort has posted on their website were misleading about the beach. The restaurants were good with lots of choices. Very good resort to take kids. The staff were excellent at the kid`s club.

Beach Palace: Best Family Vacation

We just returned from our stay at the Beach Palace Resort. It was AMAZING. I would return in a heart beat. We travelled with our 4 year old and our 2 year old and found this resort to be very kid friendly. Everything was always clean, beach was surreal and the food was pretty decent. We will be back for sure.

Riu Flamingos: Not so good

Well at first the hotel was great no issues minus the food being not so good, it got worse near the end. The security and pool lifeguards are extremely rude and bias towards travelers. You are not allowed to wear any cotton tshirts in the pool, so if you burn easily you must have a swimming shirt or you’ll get kicked out. You aren’t allowed floats or balls in the pool either. There was no sign saying you cannot go on in the section we were.

Riu Emerald Bay: Wonderful Vacation in Mazatlan!

It was our first time at the Riu Emerald Bay resort in Mazatlan, Mexico! Thanks to Shauna at Trip Central for recommendating it! We had a wonderful week of fantastic weather, great food and service. We highly recommend this beautiful resort which never disappointed. We have been to many resorts throughout Mexico but this is a 10/10 for cleanliness. The resort had many beautiful pools that spread out nicely to accommodate activity or relaxation. Bathrooms closest to pool area were imaculate. Buffet was fresh and had a great variety including authentic Mexican. Salad bar was very fresh and changed up daily. The best part was the Thursday night Fiesta night on the beach with an amazing BBQ, excellent music and entertainment! We also enjoyed the disco after the nightly entertainment! Every room has ocean view so no need to upgrade. The all inclusive trip was one of the most economical trips we’ve taken but felt like a 5 star. My one recommendation would be for the hotel to replace the towels and sheets as I felt they were getting tired looking and feeling a little worn. The service was excellent and had a relaxing wonderful experience. We definitely will go back!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Clean rooms

We had a one bedroom suite with oversized jacuzzi. Big clean room with big rooftop terrace and huge jacuzzi really a small pool. Restaurants pretty good, buffet alright. Good service everywhere. Food truck by main pool excellent for lunch. The cafe for coffee and gelato was excellent. Facilities clean and well maintained. Beach has a lot of seaweed. Difficult sunwing flight delays on both flights. Really good resort though.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Amazing Resort

Rooms are big and georgous Food was amazing Bar staff served you at pool side and on the beach Wonderful nightly entertainment Grounds well groomed This place has everything....even monkeys Layout of resort is well done, gives you the feeling of strolling along a street.

Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun: Beautuful Resort

The resort was very beautiful and well run. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was a very smooth and quick. We were greeted with a glass of champagne. It was a pleasant experience. The gardens were very well kept and lush. The beach unfortunately was not very nice with tons of seaweed on shore and unable to swim in the ocean with red tide most days. We did not see anyone in the water. Our room was in the adult section, building two. The room 2423 was very nice. The [... read more] view was beautiful overlooking the pool area and we could see the ocean from our balcony on the 4th floor. Unfortunately the view from our door to the room overlooked a sewage treatment plant. The plant spewed methane gas and the sewage smell was nauseating. We would not recommend staying in this wing of the adult section. The adult pool was limited in lounge chairs and there was no shade after 11 am. It was difficult to get a place for the day unless you woke up at 6:30 am to claim a chair. The food was very good in all the restaurants. Le Chique restaurant was truly a wonderful experience. A definite must if you stay at this hotel. The tours were well planned but we had an unpleasant experience in Playa del Carmen. We were scammed from a vender into buying a necklace that was supposed to be 14K gold and found out it was silver with gold plate. Not what were expecting. Beware of anyone that approaches you saying he is your pool bartender. On a positive note we did like Mexico, the people and our resort.
