Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Slow, rude and thief’s
The hotel itself is nice, the grounds are vast and there is a lot of wildlife which was neat. The staff were polite for the most part but not very helpful. The basin fell out of my bathroom sink and flooded our hotel room. 2 rooms later I was placed into a room that had not yet been cleaned and forced to wait 40 minutes for a room key as the gentleman moving our luggage only had him master key on him. No one arrived with these room keys so I journied to the front lobby for them. This room also h[... read more]ad drainage issues and the water would pool around your feet when you shower. Another person with our group was taken to 5 different rooms upon arrival because they had over booked the resort and each one they took him to was occupied. I had inserts for my heels that were stolen out of 2 pairs of my shoes. The service at bars was incredibly slow I think mostly because they looked to be understaffed. Room service is a joke do yourself a favour and make it to the “late night buffet†if your hungry. The first time i ordered my food never came. The second time I was hung up on, half of my food never arrived they changed my order without contacting me as they were out of certain items and when I called to find out where the rest of my meal was I was told it was on its way yet it never arrived. In terms of food all of the restaurants were pretty great, although few know how to properly cook a steak. Also pack extra lighters I lost all of mine and had to pay 18$ American to buy one at the gift shop..

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resort
Very impressed with the resort for its cleanliness, size and friendly staff. Special mention about Dinaldo and Alberto at the front counter; they were very helpful to have our room changed. The first room given to us by the front desk staff (sorry did not get his name) after I requested a room with an ocean or at least a garden view when I booked my vacation in October 2017. However the room that Dinaldo gave us was much better, at least we have a view of the swimming pool and was much brigh[... read more]ter with no jungle blocking our view! The rooms were very clean and the cleaning staff was very friendly.

Grand Riviera Princess: Great Vacation
We loved the resort , the food and the staff our only issue that we had was small children in our pool . We booked swim up room in the 13+ area thinking that would mean we wouldn’t have small children in our area. Unfortunately if you want swim up without children of any age make sure you book adult only! Kids jumping off the sides and off jet pool ledges and splashing water in our drinks was annoying and theirs parents didn’t seem to care. We paid a lot of money to have swim out with the lo[... read more]unges right out our balcony doors that are emerged in the water, people would come along and just stop and enjoy our lounge whether we were in the pool or not. Very frustrating! Those areas should have signs keeping children under 13 out or security walking around making sure kids aren’t jumping in the pools which apparently “isn’t allowedâ€. If I ever spend that kind of money for swim out again I will make sure it’s more of a private area where other won’t come and help themselves to what I paid for!

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing Resort and Staff
We traveled to Secrets with two other couples April 10 - 17. I think everyone would agree it was great. Our room was so nice and clean with a great view of the ocean. All resort areas kept so clean. Staff was great.

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Nice quite resort
Nice, very clean, quite resort with very friendly staff.
The weakest point of this resort is food quality with very limited selection.
Entertainment and daily activities are poor also.
Other than that we enjoyed our time there.
We strongly recommend this resort for people for who food is not a priority.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Love this resort!
The whole resort is kept immaculate. The food was fantastic. I can't say enough good things about this resort. The people are so friendly. Our butler, Alex, went above and beyond what was required to do his job. We will definitely go back.

Samba Vallarta: Perfect little gem!
We loved the compactness of the resort. The rooms were a good size with great beds and linens. They could use some updating as well as the lobby to make them more welcoming. Beach and pool areas had lots of chairs. The buffet had a great selection of food and the ala carte restaurants were excellent. Great family resort. The staff were exceptional. Thanks for a great vacation!

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Loud and busy
Beach and rooms were great, but the pool being in the Center of everything was loud. This felt like a party resort mixed with families. Food was decent, staff was awesome, just not what I was looking for.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Half decent hotel
The hotel amenities were fine. Hey were there, but not necessarily functional. They had a few bars there, but half the time there was no bartender. When there was a bartender, it would take a while for them to “get ready†to serve. You had to wait a long time for a simple drink. Basically, they need more staff present to serve and man the bars. We would frequently have to go from one end of the resort to the other end (from pool to the beach) just to get one drink. Coffee was only served i[... read more]n one bar, and there was always a line up at that bar.
There was also a smell of stale water all around, like the dirty water (maybe sewer water).
Wifi was paid ($45 US for 5 days), but only worked well at the indoor areas, not so well at the pool areas.
The good: the kids pool is a great area. They could add some light ambiance music over speakers in parts of it though.
The beach area was really nice and they offered free snorkeling gear at times. Not sure if thee was a catch to it since I didn’t use them.
The nature surrounding the resort was beautiful and calming.
Overall the experience was not bad, but I will be looking at a different place if I go back to Mexico.

Sandos Caracol Nature Resort and Water Park: Something for everyone
The Sandos Caracol Eco Resort had so much in one place. We stayed at the select club side and it was well kept and kid free. This resort is geared towards family’s. If you are travelling without kids, get yourself the upgrade to the select club. The restaurants were good but I recommend the select club restaurant by the pool for breakfast and lunch if you are looking for a quick meal. The Mexican restaurant was great. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Very relaxing
Friends recommended it to us.
We didn’t use the pools at all as there were no swim up bars. Also the resort could use one more restaurant on site for those that don’t want to stay on site.
The room service menu was very limited and somewhat disappointing.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great first time in mexico
My stay at the Blue Bay Grand resort in Mexico was great! But what made it so great was the staff; they were so friendly, helpful and amazing. The resort was modern and had lots to do. Food was awesome and the property was very clean. The only thing I would mention is that the beach had a lot of rocks and seaweed compared to the neighboring resorts (but the pools made up for it) Would definitely come back.

Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos: Outstanding Family Resort
One of the best resort experiences possible at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. A short twenty minute drive from the airport gets you to this beautiful resort. Ocean views are incredible. The footprint is not too big and is manageable even with little children. Modern design and beautiful facilities. Pools are incredible and huge. There is a kiddie pool that's perfect for small ones, and an adult only pool area that is an oasis of peace with its own bar and food venue. Nice big beach but ocean is too dange[... read more]rous for swimming here. Food is outstanding at all the different venues. No reservations needed! Rooms are large and comfy. The Ziva suites get you proximity to the kiddie pool, two rooms, two baths and some have awesome views from the master bedroom. Service everywhere is outstanding and staff are incredibly professional. Absolutely recommend this one!

Barcelo Huatulco: Horrible 2 star at the most
Lobby and hotel grounds- the hotel lobby, bar and grounds are very outdated and the only place that’s air conditioned is the premium lounge that you have to pay extra for. Not cool when you’re staying at a 4 star plus hotel.
Pools- there is only two pools and one bar. The pools are outdated and have black mold. It’s hard to get a spot. We went for a wedding and there was 46 of us. A few morning I woke up at 6:30am to get some spots and someone took 4 of our chairs. We would only reserve a[... read more]bout 12 chairs or so and we all shared. There was no activities in the pool, sometimes music but even that wasn’t good.
Rooms- the rooms are nice and spacious, we were on premium level, but some of the guests that weren’t premium had black mold in their shower ( we have pictures)
Food- the food was repetitive and always cold. The seafood was always cold which was cooked seafood that was suppose to be hot. All food was cold unless you got it from the grill which wasn’t good.
A few morning we had to line up for breakfast to get a table ( 15-20min)
The a la cart restaurants hadn’t to be booked and they weren’t all available at all times.
We booked Mexican for the second night we were there and when we got there they said we don’t have a reservation. One person in our group went back to the room and got the slips to show them. They did acoimediate us after. Ricardo Cortez The food manager was great and did everything he could to make our stay better.
We also went to the Italian which was surprisingly great food.
Spanish al la cart was horrible and it wasn’t Spanish food at all.
On the wedding day- the bride and groom paid for platinum package but they didn’t get platinum service.
The were told the chairs will be beige and they’re were dark brown. The decoration wasn’t what they were showed in pictures. When it was time for them to cut the cake they didn’t have a plate or a fork !! The groom had to put the cake in a napkin and give it to the bride with his hands. Come on now this is common sense stuff.
The dinner arrived cold as usual. The appetizer was cold. The main course was over cooked steak I believe it was brisket that was cooked to death. They were promised fillet. It was companied by powdered mashed potatoes not even real mashed potatoes.
Bar- one of the 46 guests had 1 year old daughter and asked one of the bar tenders for a bottle of water. The bar tender said since you don’t have a premium bracelet you can only get a cut of water not bottled water ( how is this hotel 4 plus stars)
Room service- only premium get room service everyone else has to pay for it. One might I was ordering room service and the gentleman in the phone told me I’m oderering too much and asked if there are more ppl in my room !! I said NO I have a teenage son who eats a lot.
Claudia lijehhulth, Flor Martinez form the premium lounge had incredible customer service and were always so polite and ready to help, They are truly great.
This resort should never ever be recommended to anyone having a wedding or anyone under the age of 65. I emailed Kevin from there, because the bride and groom were very upset and he still hasn’t emailed me back. I felt horrible for the bride and groom because the most important day of their life was ruined. They can never get that back.
I’m so disappointed that you guys would ever recommend this resort for a wedding.
Excertions- we booked the 7 bays on a boat excretion with the hotel not Sunwing ( what a mistake )
They told us there would be washrooms both for men and women. They said it’s a boat for 46ppl. I asked over and over again is it a nice, will it be safe? We had lots of kids in the wedding group and elders.
They picked us up at 10am in nice cars and took us to the marina. When we saw the boat we were all shocked. They told us to take life jackets that were scattered all over the boat floor.
They were all ripped, none of the buckles worked, and they smelled so horrible. They hadn’t black mold on them as well.
The sea was so choppy and the boat wasn’t the right boat for those big waters. Everyone got sick almost 90% were throwing up and sick.
We had to cut our trip short and come back. When we got back to the hotel we told them and they said that they don’t understand what black mold is and we got a great deal. 49 ppl and we payed $30 each and $15 for kids.
The hotel didn’t care that this was a safety issue with life jackets that are ripped and don’t have buckle that work. Honestly this resort is a 2 start at the most in every way possible. Food, grounds, service. Every single person in our group was unhappy. Most important what was suppose to be the best day in their life for the bride and groom was completely ruined by horrible staff at Barcelo.

Grand Riviera Princess: Beautiful resort
I will start with the grounds of this resort... Absolutely Pristine! I have yet to be at a resort that has taken as much pride in cleanliness as this resort.
We had booked a Junior Suite deluxe swimout, which was awesome. I don't know that I will be able to book anything but from this day forward. It was lovely not having to pack a bag to go to the pool etc. walk right out your balcony and into the pool! Staff were attentive and pleasant.
I was somewhat disappointed with the "upcharge" for l[... read more]obster/shrimp. At every other resort I have been to, including in Cuba, these were items included in your cost. For the price that was paid for this trip, it would have been a plus to have this included.
