Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort

The RIU Varadero is a great resort. The grounds were kept trimmed and beautiful. The staff was fantastic! Very accommodating and friendly. I was in a group of 12, and we had a great visit. There was always a good selection of food at the buffet restaurant. Jorge and Renee at the swim up bar were outstanding. Some of our group would've liked to be closer to Varadero but it's just a quick cab ride in a fancy old car, or a bus ride away, so no big deal. Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Be Live Las Morlas A great resort

We have been staying at this beautiful resort for 20 years and it keeps getting better. Both my wife and I are beach people until this year when out of necessity we had to stay around the pool. We learned how to adapt and had a great vacation. The staff as always were thoughtful and caring and gave much of themselves to make our holiday so special. So we are saying to everyone at Las Morlas "THANK YOU FOR OUR GREAT HOLIDAY". My birthday lasted for 5 days of celebration. WE also got to meet the Sales Manager (Jefe de Ventas), Jorge A. Perez of the Be Live Hotels in Cuba It is so nice to be treated so well. We will be returning in the spring and again next fall. When you find a place that makes you feel so welcome, you definitely want to go back.

Memories Jibacoa: Great Vacation

Our group enjoyed the friendly, attentive staff, the well manicured grounds, the well maintained pool and the experience of being pampered. The daily activities were a lot of fun and the evening shows were certainly entertaining.

Melia Marina Varadero: Nice resort!

This was first time going to Cuba so I wasn't sure what to expect and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was when we arrived. The hotel was very clean and well maintained with a modern design, which we liked. The room was nice. The only thing I didn't like was the beachy, damp smell in our room. Otherwise, the staff was great! No luck with getting water or any fridge items replenished in the room even after calling the front desk and being promised numerous times that someone was on  [... read more]the way with the items we requested. The buffet items got a little repetitive, but the a la carte restaurants offered some variety. Overall, can't complain too much. Definitely one of the better looking hotels in Varadero.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Planning my return trip!

Loved this hotel! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful and easy to navigate. The food was as good as you would expect and there was a lot of variety. Entertainment was fun and it wasn't difficult to find activities to do. Overall great experience!

Grand Memories Varadero: Good Value

For all the stories that you here about Cuba this hotel was very good. The rooms were very clean and the food had something for everyone. Only complaints are the beds were really hard and be prepared for no spices in food. Some people that we traveled with brought spices, an onion, and Ketchup.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great resort

Beautiful beach, I couldn't believe the service, staff went above & beyond to make you happy! We stayed for 10 days and were never bored with the food selection. We had a great vacation and would go back.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Fantastic all around hotel

Hotel was well laid out, pool area was well spaced and traffic flow of the patrons was not an issue. For Cuba, food was good and not to mention the service was unbelievable. Any issues were handled right away and very professionally

Sol Varadero Beach: Average at best

This hotel had average food selection with decent serving areas and attendants. Beautiful beach with one beach bar open till 5 pm . Small coffee serving area very busy In mornings, They will cook you a great burger at two in the morning at the north pool bar but they won't serve you a cervesa past 2 am

Roc Arenas Doradas: Beautiful people,service hotel and beach

Our first time to travel to Cuba, we had a good time, especially my husband that love the History "Che", he act more than the locals how he knows him by heart. Services of the staff was excellent though they are not fluent in speaking english. We tried speak to them in Spanish, which we have a bit background simple language

Roc Arenas Doradas: No Wi-Fi? No Problem!

Arenas Doradas is a lovely resort where you can spend time relaxing, away from technology, daily duties and the chaos of real life. Resort staff for the most part are knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. Beach front is beautiful and has enough free to use non-motorized vehicles and beach chairs to lounge on. Nightly entertainment is fun, light hearted and at times mesmerizing depending on the show (Aquatic Dance show is a highlight). Buffet restaurant has a diversity of food every day so on a typical 7-day stay, it is unlikely you will get bored, however, you may still want to rent a moped or take a taxi into the Varadero township to eat fresh lobster, check out the local markets for souvenirs and visit the many bars and marinas to get the most out of Cuban tourism. Excursions are available at cost. Overall excellent value for the price we paid with almost nothing to complain about. Came back home feeling refreshed and happy with our sunny, lazy, all inclusive stay at Arenas Doradas.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: So so

The resort is nice, just remember it's Cuba. Bathrooms clean. Beds extremely uncomfortable but totally bad food. I know Cuba, been 17 times, lived with the Cubans for a mth every year and been in many hotels there. Same food every day almost. No reason they couldn't have oatmeal at breakfast and not as many veggie dishes and more real food. It's Cuba they should be overloaded with fish and chicken is cheap. Playa Caleta: Worth the money!

This resort was a great experience!! The staff were very friendly and helpful.Some constructive criticism would be not to tell guests that there is the option of getting money at the front desk!..10 days..and finally had to take the bus into town to a bank. Unfortunately they ran out of room and I had to wait till the afternoon bus..thus breaking up my day too much.Great value for money,great beach and weather!

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Enjoyable stay. Beautiful beach. Great staff.

I found this resort to be comfortable and accomodating. The staff went out of their way to see to your needs. The beach is beautiful and especially enjoyed the beach side restaurant at lunchtime. Will go again.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Beautiful resort!!

Oceans El patriarca was an absolute beautiful resort. It was very clean, staff was super friendly, beach was beautiful. The food was actually quite good considering all the reviews about how terrible the food is in Cuba. They even had hot sauce!! Towards the end of our trip we even noticed a worker restraining the wood panels around the garbage bins, that is how clean they kept this resort

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Beach , Excellent Facilities , Mediocre Food

I was at the Ocean Varadero Nov.1 throught Nov. 8. I arrived about 9:30 in the evening. Upon arrival the checkin was fast and efficient The restaurants closed at 10 but we were still able to make it to the Italian a la carte restaraunt . The room was very modern and clean. On the first couple of days the buffet was disappointing (very little variety), so we had breakfast at the coffee shop and lunch at the snack bar (hot dogs, burgers,pizza, fries). The beach at this hotel is the nicest that I have ever seen, white sand and lots of cabanas. There was an adequate supply of paddle boats and kayaks with a minimal wait to use them. The pool was never crowded and it was easy to get a lounger. Getting extra cash was difficult because debit cards didn't work but my credit card did work for a cash advance at the ATM at the Plaza de Americas shopping mall.

Memories Jibacoa: Great Time!!

My husband and I stayed at the Breezes Jibacoa Oct 2014. Had a great time. Quaint resort. Everything was very good. We're not a picky eaters so we were fine. Some people thought it could be better. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Only 1 hour from Havana. Beach was a little rocky, but we were aware of that before we left. Just a note. We voted our room the worst on the resort. We have been to this resort 4 times. We really like it. The grounds have been spruced up from the last time. They are working on some of the buildings. Our room was very nice. We were close to the main area. We had a second floor. The room was cleaned every day and the towels were checked and we let them decide if they needed to be changed. The food at this place is good. They had verity of food for breakfast including, pancakes, French toast, boiled eggs etc. The normal breakfast food. At lunch we usually went to the pool bar. You can order either hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and French fries. We only ate at the buffet, there was always something to choose from. One evening they had roast beef, another pork tenderloin, turkey etc. Chicken pretty much every day. They had a station of stir fries. They had fish and sea food as well. A lot of it. They had two meals of lobster. Everyone seem to enjoy it. There was also a pasta station. The deserts were always very good. Their bread and buns were amazing. We did a trip to Veradero for the day. That was very nice. We took the tourist bus and we drove into the town. We went to flee market and the people were nice and they did not push you in buying anything if you did not want to. We had a good time talking with the people. We also bought some rum and cigars. Over all we had a good time. We love going to Cuba. We love the people. Some other people went to Havana for the day. We did not this time. We have been there two times and we enjoyed both times.

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful resort

I loved the layout of the resort and the beach was amazing - the staff very helpful and friendly and the trip around the peninsula and the town of Veradero on the double decker bus was awesome! The golfing for my partner in the tournament was super and lunch at the Mansion was amazing!

Roc Arenas Doradas: Excellent resort for the price!

This hotel was great! The rooms were always cleaned before noon with a beautiful little creation that the maid created from a towel. The staff is very friendly and courteous. People always complain about the food in Cuba, but I thought this resort had a really great variety...I especially loved the buffet they set up by the beach, so fresh and delicious! I met quite a few groups of people who've been to the resort more than 10 times and absolutely love it.
