Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort
The location was great. Resort is large with 8 hotels. We stayed at the Esmeralda which is great because it's the closest to the beach if you have kids. The food was very good. The rooms were clean and provided everything we need. There was quite a bit of seaweed on the beach but they were always cleaning it. This depends on the rain and season. There is always cabanas for shade. I would definitely come back to this resort . 5 star for sure! Highly recommend.
Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Amazing, clean resort!!!
The resort was very clean and the staff members were extremely friendly. Always cleaning. The a la carte dinners were 5 stars! The servers were unbelievable! You can tell they were trained very well. I would recommend this resort and would go back. Well done Viva Whyndam Heavens!
Ocean Blue and Sand: An incredible experience for our family
This hotel was really great. The pool is huge with a well stocked swim-up bar, and they have good quality alcohol (brugal extra viejo anyone???). The buffet has excellent choices for all meals, and a la cartes don't require reservations except the japanese one. We ate at the American and Mexican restaurants and both were really good. The American restaurant had a huge menu. The a la cartes also have a kids menu which was handy. My kids went to the kids club a couple times and had fun. The [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Paradise!
This resort was everything we imagined and more. Service was always served with a smile. Rooms were always cleaned and fresh on a daily basis. Food was amazing with endless choices. Well done Bahia Resorts for the world class service. P&A.
Riu Republica: First time all inclusive and had the time of my life!
The Riu Republica was a beautiful resort with great food, amazing entertainment , the rooms where modern and clean. I loved the glass wall in the shower going into The bedroom. I went on this trip by myself and loved every minute. The spa was so relaxing with the steam room and cold and hot plunge pools. I loved the beach and you could walk for miles. Can't wait to go back. Ask for Armstrong at the bar and Isael in the buffet restaurant. Mariel in the spa gave me the best stress cure massage I' [... read more]
Riu Bambu: Awesome resort
Hotel was very clean and the employees are amazing. Food was good. Pool beach amazing. Water park fantastic. We had a wonderful time. Wish we could go back soon. Night life was great. So much to do with the family.
Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Second time better than the first!
This is a small adults only resort directly on Coson beach. This was our second visit within a year and we were very impressed that many of the staff remembered us. No reservations are required for any of the a la carted (3), free wifi throughout the resort as well as being able to change towels whenever you like. Food and drinks are top notch. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles in either way. We are already planning our third trip for next summer!
Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Repeat customer
Overall it is a great place. Having been there several times and always been satisfied, this time around we were a little disappointed with a couple of the restaurants. Food was below average and service not at par. We had no problem with the buffet and other restaurants we visited. People were friendly as usual and no complaints with anything else.
Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Could have been better
The hotel rooms were very dated and our bathroom ceiling leaked, staff were told but nothing was done. My Brother and sister in law joined us, their room was much bigger than ours even with just the two of them, I had to sleep with my son as the beds were not big enough to accommodate 2 adults. The pool was always warm/hot and very cloudy and turned out sons hair green and ruined our bathing suits. Poolside drinks machine didn't work the whole 2weeks and we always had to que to get a drink. Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Wow!
What an experience, I can honestly say, this trip was amazing and all that credit goes to the resort and their staff, what a great group of people and service, I would highly recommend it! The food was amazing, especially the blue lagoon was terrific, the pools were clean and fun, the activities within the resort including the shows at night were amazing!
Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Amazing, hip resort
We really enjoyed our stay at the Chic Resort. The resort is advertised as great 25-40 years of age, however we saw a lot of 25-60. The resort was extremely clean, floors mopped daily, there is a turn down service as well as 24 hour room service included at no extra charge (we used it more than we thought). The ocean wasn't too rough when we went even thought the beach is known as a rougher beach. The food was okay, it wasn't bad but it also wasn't the best we've had in Punta Cana. The alcohol w [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great resort, but not a 5 star
Resort: was beautiful, stunning Food: was great, lots of options Kids resort: lots of options, water park was a plus Beach: horrible. Lots of seaweed. They need to find a solution to this. If you are travelling but don't care about the beach, then you can choose this resort. As much as the resort was amazing, I would not return due to the beach. I'm use to cuba beach, not the same at all. Due to the beach, I rate this resort a 4 star. We travelled the week of July 25/17.
Riu Republica: Riu Republica
Beautiful beach, nice pools, nice rooms, terrible food!!!! They say this is a 5 star resort YES all but the "food", the restaurants are all buffet except for one but that didn't matter cause the food there was probably the worst, sushi forget it. What made our day was the beach, gorgeous you cant go wrong, water amazing and most of all relaxing cause its a adults only resort. Rooms are clean and resort is new so there is a lot of construction going on. We booked garden view and got constructi [... read more]
Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Vacances
Very nice family trip. Place, hotel end staf very profesionel. Vanderfoul place for maide surfing et kitering its amazing. I loved stay 14 days in this hotel, end visiting Cabarete with my family. Probably retourned next year.
Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: nice resort
The staff did not look happy. They were not very friendly. More fruits would have been better. The pool bathrooms were disgusting. The bars ran out of mint and limes before noon. Entertainment had a lot to be desired. It was the same dance with different costumes. Dances were not family friendly. They were inappropriate behavior with little children around.
Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: I'd come back!
We upgraded to VIP which was a great idea because the resort was crazy busy, especially when it came to the beach!!! So I was really glad we have a private beach. The resort was crazy clean considering the amount of people that were there. I'm not going to go through every category because everything was really good and there's nothing in my opinion that I'd change or suggest that they could change! I'd 100% go back or use the same Resort in other locations!
Riu Republica: great resort
we really enjoyed the location on the beach the waves were si much fun, clean and intertaining resort, food was hood with lots of selection, the only bummer was service in the morning was really slow and very attentive, but on all I would definitely go back
The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Good resort if your a billy goat
We enjoyed our stay at the Bahia Principe Cayacoa. The food was excellent for the price. We were at the golden area and there are many stairs - 130 from bottom to top. It could be an issue for some if you aren't in shape. We found the beach lovely and always an abundance of chairs available. Our rooms were sufficient. The air conditioning didn't really cool the room to under 77 F. We found it difficult to sleep with the heat. Staff were great and overall we enjoyed our stay.
Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: It's average.
It wasn't 4.5 star worth, but the rooms were clean, pool was great and the beach was nice with lots of shades. Lacking in nightly entertainment, breakfast was routine, but paella was awesome! Oh yea, the maid stole my dress OUT of my LUGGAGE!!! Do lock up and take the safety lock key everywhere you go. Highly recommended! Lots of locals at the resort, too. Not so friendly.
Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Good, Not Great
While our stay was enjoyable and we met a lot of really neat and interesting people, staff included, I wouldn't say that this resort qualifies as a five star, even by Dominican Republic standards. For being such a new resort (i.e. only about seven months old) there were aspects of the site that felt worn out. There are a lot of tiles missing or damaged in the pool and sections of the grounds look like they had either been damaged or not fully completed. The food that we had was good, but not [... read more]
