There was cock roaches in the toilet in my room and also the pool bathroom toilet. The restaurants and buffet had NO AC only in ur room. The food was the same all the time!! I give this resort ZERO STARS!!!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful Resort! BUT...
Everything was fantastic, the views, the service, the rooms
The only 2 negatives are:
1) we were there the 2 last weeks of september and what this resort do is they open to the Dominican people from Friday to Sunday! it cost them 200.00 US for the weekend. A lot of peoples and their family comes in! the pool is full!!! the Bar is full!!! the buffet restaurant is full and they eat
everything in site! so if you are not there at the opening of the buffet there's no place to sit and hardly any [... read more]food left!!! Luckily for the evening meals they are not allowed to go the the " A La Carte Restaurant" PHEW!!!
2) the beach of the hotel is very small you cannot take long walks and also just at the end it is open to the public so they come into our side, the vendors come in too (discretely) but are still there to bother the people. So that's not great because they are very insistant.
we heard also that this resort will become a "non all inclusive" starting next year.
So I think with point 1 & 2 and the non "all Inclusive" that there will be less people that will go there that's for sure!
Next time that we go to Samana we will go to Grand EL Portillo because we like Samana but before I book I will inquire if in the fall the Dominicans are allowed to go to that resort too for the weekend!

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Beautiful and Relaxing
Our Agent Natasha Spencer did an amazing job making the arrangements for trip. We got exactly what we asked for..
2 bedroom junior suite close to beach and pools. It was conveniently arranged so that at checkout- you can go straight to airport and catch flight.
The resort was well kept and beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful even though they had difficulty with English. The rooms were a little dated and could be cleaner but it was good.
Lots of great food to select from and local[... read more] drinks. There was entertainment for the entire family every night which was awesome.
Sadly, it was sad to see the large amounts of food wastage in the Buffet area from guest especially when surrounding areas of resort has visible poverty.
It was a pleasant first time experience.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Amazing Resort
Absolutely loved this resort from the amazing people that work there to the lovely rooms.
Not too many people had booked there so not all restaurants were opened at the same time, understandably made sense. However all buffets made up for that...we could always find something wonderful to eat. It was my birthday while we were there and they all went out of their way to make it very special for me, right down to a wonderful bubble bath...

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Third Visit
We really enjoy this hotel. It’s clean and the restaurants are all fine. What is nice is that is you are there for an extended stay (us 10 days) then the resort is big enough that you can have some variety in your dining. All is all we would go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Second time at Grand Bahia
We enjoyed ourselves 4 years ago and returned with a group of 4 others to once again enjoy all that this hotel has to offer. I recommend it for beach lovers as the sea was clear, calm and warm with a gradual slope. We participated in exercises in the water every day and in many of the games on the beach. Our rooms were cold, mini fridge stocked daily, clean, and supplied with adequate towels, etc. One room had a problem with the safe and this was quickly fixed. In another room the phone did[... read more]n't work but we used whatsapp and free wifi to connect with each other. We ate mostly at the buffet as the food was plentiful with lots of choices and a Jamaican section.
Room for improvement - could use more local fruits but it wasn't mango season.
I don't recommend it for anyone with mobility issues due to the stairs and size of the hotel which requires a lot of walking although there is a shuttle service.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Very Nice Resort. Would return.
The grounds were immaculate and the hotel very nice.
The room and bed was very comfortable. The light beside the dresser was not working but we did not report it so not blaming anyone there although I think the rooms could be checked for working lights etc. prior to customer check-in. Personally, we prefer a room that is well lit with bright lights. The bathroom was fine although the tap at the sink was very worn and stiff to turn on and off. The hotel could use some renovation.
We h[... read more]ad some problems with the room safe but got very quick response from security who came twice to fix it. We were impressed by the fast response.
The staff on the whole was wonderful. The Waiters, Waitresses and Entertainment as well as Front Desk Staff were first class. One of the waiters in particular, Shaquille was outstanding.
The one thing that was bad for us was how hot the lobby was. We sat in the lobby most nights while the entertainment was on in the night at the stage on the balcony outside the lobby. There were a couple of fans but was not enough to cool the entire lobby. Don't know if the air condition was on but could feel nothing and found the heat almost unbearable. A suggestion, if the air not turned on, standing fans or wall or overhead fans placed all around the lobby would be helpful to help cool the place down. The heat in the lobby was a big minus for us.
The beach by the children's water park was very lovely and the beach entertainment staff were excellent. We found the food in the buffet very good especially the Jamaican cuisine. The fruit offerings was disappointing but I guess it was the time of year of our visit. Was hoping for mangoes and local fruits galore.
Would definitely like to return with our children and grandchildren in the not so distant future.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Great resort, average service
My wife and I went to BP Luxury RB resort (adult section) to celebrate our wedding anniversary on October 7 for one week. Overall it was a good experience, however it could have been better. Let's start with the pros: The resort facilities are beautiful and very well maintained, the rooms are very clean and spacious, the corridors and common areas are pristine. The cons: For us it did not start very well as we spent almost 1.5 hours doing immigration and customs. There is an option to pay to exp[... read more]edite the process. I believe it would be worth it. The food was not good to our taste and at par compared to previous experiences at other luxury resorts in the Caribbean. There are only 3 restaurants, however getting reservations is very challenging, therefore we ended up having most of our meals at the buffets. The food served there was almost the same every day. On the package it was offered the access of the facilities of the family section including the restaurants, however some of them were closed due to low occupancy and getting reservations for the rest was impossible. The best for us was the Japanese Mikado tepanyaki dinner. The resort is great however the service is not the same. A lot of servers at the bars and restaurants had bad attitude and were, in some cases, rude. We believe that because of the low occupancy there were a lot of locals, in particular on the weekends, that got preferred treatment for service at the bars and restaurants than the rest of the tourists. The beach on our side was man made, small, shallow and rocky. I found this resort over priced, not 5 starts due to the service. The beach, the entertainment and the bar hours were better on the family section.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great resort unfortunate experience
I visited Grand Bahia Jamaica several times in the past I loved it so much I had even recommended it to my friend who eventually had her wedding there! Naturally I figure this would be a great resort to return to for some nice relaxation days, beach days and great food! The trip started off great it's a wonderful resort, unfortunately on the 3rd evening a couple friends and I ran into a really really pushy bartender... long story short... would not take no for an answer from any of us and made u[... read more]s these drinks I don't drink alcohol and I repeatedly told him that but he forced me to take a sip of one despite me repeatedly saying no! then he made me something that was supposed to be virgin a red drink which I still didn't want..I tasted it it tasted a little bit off then he would like tell me ...oh go and see my friend blah blah he wants to know if you guys are going to the disco or whatever so I walked over and told his friend no I'm cool here doing karaoke, his friend was fine I turned around and there's the bartender with the drink holding up right behind me.. I bumped into him! he's following me around with this drink... so I took the drink, I put it on the counter I went to the washroom the drink stayed there I'm singing and I got thirsty and I was about to take another sip and a lady she told me no I wouldn't drink that if I were you ..one of the other patrons.. so I left it kept singing and eventually I got so thirsty I forgot and naturally took a sip ..I finished about 1/3 of the drink. That night I woke up SICK 🤢 I kept thinking about what happened. The friends I was hanging out with were leaving that morning so I went to say goodbye really early. but I couldn't shake this uncomfortable feeling about the night before and I was feeling soo inexplicably sick...not gastro..so I decide I have to speak to someone. was already not feeling right so I wanted to speak to somebody higher up because I just like kept thinking when I woke up in the middle of the night did this really happen like there's more details but did this really happen?? so I went to my front desk and it's very hard to be able to speak with somebody of authority there, you have to tell your story to so many people before you can get to somebody that can do something so I was really adamant about I don't want to tell it to you and then her and then him and so on.... eventually I was told okay fine we'll get the building supervisor to call you and he did. I met with him; Carlos he was very supportive then he walked me to my room and told me that he's going to go check the cameras at the security office, he came back a bit to long later with a form saying that I have to fill out this incident report it says voluntary but he says I have to fill it out so I fill out the form in detail while he went back to go look at the cameras. He comes back and he's like I "everything you said is a hundred percent we saw everything, he is gone today. I'm so sorry, I will come check on you personally each day.."now mind you I have four more days left in my trip everybody else is gone I'm still there so I told him like I felt uncomfortable even going around the resort because it's like okay everybody there are friends now this person may have gotten fired and like we were quite noticeable there, we were a good group, we met a lot of people and for the most part everybody was really nice... but Carlos reassured me that nobody will bother me and everything is going to be okay. I was like okay fine I went to the far Beach the nice one on the grand side it's a beautiful beach and what do I hear?!..two lifeguards talking about the situation and then I went to go and sit down in front of one of the buffets just outside they have some tables and I was just watching Netflix and right behind me two cleaning staff were also talking about it and one had more information clearly than the other one and then I ran into the person's friend that evening and it was the coldest coldest coldest look and attitude I got from that person so my last couple days after spending so much money on this trip was pretty much spent in my room and the man said he was going to come back and check on me everyday he never did there was no follow-up there was no nothing I don't know what happened. I did not eat breakfast because I was so anxious to leave the room...it took me to get so hungry and run out for dinner quick and come back to my room...worst four days on vacation ever. Subsequently I spoke to my friend and she brought up how sick her husband got as he drank a full drink and she also got sick. Then the 3rd girl that we were with brough tup how odd the bartender was and why he was following me and being sooooo invasive and persistent..mind you .they had no idea I had filed a complaint as yet...turns out we all separately had our own discomforts with that bartender the same night. They have left reviews and complained but no one at Grand Bahia has reached out to date. And no one ever followed up with me from the written complaint I filed while there. I would love too go back and have a great experience in order to wipe out this past experience but with no follow up/conflict resolution, I do not want to put myself nor my money at risk again. Therefore I will not be recommending to others at this time

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Average OK but not amazing.
We stay in Bahia Principe Fantasia in beginning of October.
First, rooms strong smell of mold, its not that we can't handled but be ready for this.
Cleanliness of the rooms was ok.
Swimming pool and splash pool was maintaining well.
Buffet just prefect, ignore all restaurants accept Japanese.
Beach activities just nothing. Completely zero.
Bars, especially Lobby you have to tip them otherwise they almost ignore you.
Shows and evening entertainment was not amazing but not bad.
Gene[... read more]rally not bad, but I will try next time something else.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Magical !!
Fantasia is a great place for families with children. Plenty to do to keep you and the younger kids; ( I suggest ages 1 to 10.) as active or chill as you prefer. . Pools and water slides. Kids club. Nightly entertainment from 8 pm. The light shows and fountains make the place look magical !!
The resort is bright and sunny during the day, with shade under canopies or umbrella. Even with some daily showers, it dries up quickly. Rooms are spacious enough for adults and children. Mini fridge fille[... read more]d daily and food, snacks and drinks are plentiful.
It is a great destination in the Caribbean so do expect to see some insects and small critters around, which my 4 year old grand child was excited to see.
A short tram ride will deliver you to the Fantasia section of the beach, where the snack bar is located. A short walk over to the left you can enjoy the new pool features of the Punta/Bavaro resorts. Overall we could not ask for more; except more days !! lol

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Very nice smaller resort
Sian Ka'an is a smaller self-contained adult-only resort within a complex of larger resorts, but separated from the rest of them -- and the beach -- by a 10-minute trolley ride. Being smaller, it's less busy, more relaxing, and one could even argue that a 10-minute direct trolley ride to the beach is better than a long walk from one of the closer resorts. But it's the staff -- especially at the buffet -- that make this resort -- they do a great job of providing excellent, personalized service.[... read more] Rooms are a bit dated, but they're fine -- I like the rooftop ones. We were twice approached by a manager who was sincerely asking for feedback -- that's a very good sign. Last year the beach was overwhelmed by seaweed, this year it was fine. The beach itself is sand, but there are rocks/coral in the water -- bring watershoes. Trolley transportation system has been improved since last year. It's at least a 90 minute drive to/from the airport, worth taking a private shuttle.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Beautiful resort!
Sian Ka'an was a resort recommended by our Tripcentral agent, Susan Snider. It is a small beautiful resort nestled within the jungle next door to a PGA golf course. Our room was very private surrounded by lush vegetation. Four warm pools with ample shaded lounge chairs ran through the middle of the resort - we did not spend any time at the beach which required a transport provided by the hotel to reach. The friendly staff were always nearby offering their services in whatever we may have needed.[... read more] Food was available 24 hours with many a la carte options but we preferred the excellent buffet. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very nice resort
The grounds were well kept and the staff very friendly. The poolside ladies were amazing. Rooms were kept clean. The food was overall quite good.
I did have one disappointment...it seems like you cannot attend the Dominican emtertainment night without an additional fee...this woukd have equated to approx 30.00 per person, which I thought was quite steep.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very good!!!
The hotel is very clean.
Very friendly staff. Very good service.
BUT!
We paid for a Superior Junior suite, but they gave us a Standard room.
We arrived and looked again at the photos on the hotel website and this is a Standard room. We were told that this is a Superior Junior suite. Room 7202, we stayed from September 21 to September 28.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful view
The resort was beautiful and the food was very good, except that they had pizza and spaghetti everyday on the buffet. As far as the maids and cleaning the rooms, that was awful. Our towels were not changed for 5 days, even though we kept telling them, then no water was left in our fridge, then our shower wasn’t working and the water was rising up to my knees every time I took a shower. It is sad that they don’t take care of their guest with respect.
