Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Greatest Vacation of all resort

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.) I like the Hotel very much because everything in the room are new and modern (the entire resort). I like the idea that they have the Mike's Coffee and Tea house, excellent variaties of hot and cold drinks.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Vacation!

Very clean rooms and grounds. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The beach is one of the best I have seen, no rocks and very wide, so plenty of room. The Entertainment was wonderful and the food was also the best I have experienced in a resort. We definately plan on returning next year : )

Hotel Villa Cuba: Affordable vacation

Mid September is not the best time to visit Villa Cuba. There were not a lot of tourists and the food brought some problems to all of us. Friendly staff and great shows. We had 4 rainy days out of seven.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great getaway!!

This Hotel was amazing - service was top notch - the pool by the apartments were the best - Dounia was simply the sweetest most loving lady we met! She took amazing care of us and always had a smile,- even cut fruit for us. Just her alone would bring us back to this resort!! Joel the cart driver was a pleasant man - always asking how our day was and always being there to take us back and forth from the lobby to our rooms. We have no complaints at all about this resort. Thanks for a great time!!!

Hotel Bella Costa: Awesome resort

This resort was wonderful , very friendly, staff was great, place was very clean....it is older but lots of character....the beaCh is the best in Varadero....We loved it the grounds are very pretty.....the people are very sincere, THE FOOD WAS REASONABLE....10 out of 10 in my book!!!

Club Kawama: Great time

This was my 6th time to cuba so I'm no stranger there. The beach was beautiful, and so were the people. I don't come for the food as it always leaves something to be desired, but I always found something to eat. I would return to club kawama, but I think I will spend my next visit in havana.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort

We were very pleased with the staff and the service they provided to us, the beach is fantastic, food was good and our room was always clean. Rooms need some up-grading and I understood that they will start that soon. The night club has been renovated as well as the grill restaurant by the beach.

Grand Memories Varadero: Fantastic for the Value

Overall assessment amazing The welcome reception was slow/lousy Room wasn't ready until after 4pm Food preparation needs improvement Beach entertainment needs improvement Public/Dinning areas are good.

The hotel is a bit outdated but well kept and clean. Would recommend it. Beach and main pool are fantastic. Employees very friendly. Drink selection is very good and food is great particularly in the a la carte restaurants,

Resonance Blu Varadero: Fifth time in row at this resort

This was our fifth annual September visit to Memories, what we have found is managers seem to come and go. As do other staff throughout the resort. Last September we found a big difference in the quality of food and selection than from the previous year. The food manager had just arrived from Dominican Republic 3 weeks earlier. This September that food manager was gone and another food manager from Spain was in his place. For some reason the food was not at the same level. It is obvious that foo [... read more]d managers have a large impact of food quality, type and selection. This is not to say we did not enjoy the food and the resort since it was our fifth visit. What it says is that from year to year the consistency varies. We have spoken to many frequent visitors to Cuba who have tried most 4 and 5 star resorts in Varadero, They all say the food is the same at all resorts with no resort standing out. We like this resort because of it's size, the amount of walking needed which helps to burn off the calories of alcohol and food induced and obviously the friendly staff, especially the few still around we have met each of the five years we have visited. Why do we choose September, well the resort is one of the largest if not the largest in Varadero, in September the kids are back at school and the numbers are down considerably. We have heard horrors stories about the resort being full, no towels, long lineups for food etc What I say to those folks don't go at Christmas, March break or major holidays over the winter months. Stay away from those time frames if you want a relaxing enjoyable stay or go to a smaller resort. The a la carte restaurant's have been consistent each year and a pleasant break from the buffet table. The one thing I would like to see and I have mentioned it before in a review is the variety of drink options at the two swim up pool bars be increased, not everyone drinks beer and rum. Should there be a bottle of wine or a bottle of something that is in quantity at the other bars it disappears very quickly so that should tell the resort something. All in all our fifth visit was as enjoyable as the last. We are now looking forward to next September and our annual trek to Memories.

Club Kawama: Club Kawama

Cant wait to go back. The staff were attentive and seemed very happy to be working. My only complaint was the food. Even though it was very fresh, it was very bland. Bring your own Hot Sauce...lol Room were clean and well looked after. The better you tip the better service you get. But I didn't mind. They sure do love Canadians.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Good hotel to stay with the family

Overall, it's a good hotel for the money you spend. It is on a smaller side and everything is close by. Rooms are decent. Food is good. Not much variety but you can always find something you'll enjoy. Entertainment was good: some nights are better, some nights are not so much :) beach is great. Plenty if lounges to choose from no matter when you decide to go to the beach. Getting to the ocean may be a bit tricky for those with reduced mobility since there are some steep sandy steps to take. Sol Palmeras: Sol Palmeras

All i can say is check before you book this hotel as there is some refurbishment work going on until next year, but do not let this put you off as you can get away from it during the day by going on the beach or trips out, Cuba is an unspoilt country!

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful place

Overall I had a fabulous time. There were plenty of activities around the pool, the beach and the entertainment in the evening was lots of fun with a variety of acts. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The beach was amazing and wonderful to swim in. The only negative was the air conditioning filters needed to be cleaned as there was a musty smell which gave me some concern. On the positive, the room was large with plenty of room. The food at the Italian Restaurant was very good and Pe [... read more]dro our waiter was hilarious and an excellent server. In the main dining room the food was so so. I was concerned with some of the cold cuts as it may have been left out too long. In the evening one of our hostesses (Janelle) was fantastic. She was very attentive and her smile always welcomed her guests.

Blau Varadero: Fun Resort.

Had a wonderful stay at the Blau Varadero. I traveled on my own from September 19 to the 25. All staff was friendly and kind. The selection of food varied and it was good. I especially enjoyed the paella by the pool. The pool area was fun and lively. I was lucky and had great weather with some cloudy periods. Lastly the beach is most beautiful. (I went sailing as it is included in your package. And paid 20 pesos to go snorkling...fun!) It is where I spent my time. White powdery sand and Cerulean [... read more] blue water. Wow! I was lucky to meet some wonderful people during my stay from the staff to my lovely friends from England! ...cheers to all!

Memories Jibacoa: Great snorkelling!!

This was our first visit to this resort but our 9th time to Cuba. The beach isn't a great walking beach like we have seen elsewhere, however the coral reef right in front is why we went there. From the beach swim about 200 yards straight out and you come to a 30 foot wall of coral in chrystal clear water. Lots of fish of every colour you can imagine. The buffet was standard Cuban, no surprises one way or another. Ditto for the 2 restaurants. The beach Ranchon was nice with great grilled chicken and fish and roasted whole pork once a week. The room was very clean and well maintained. As the resort started in 1999 the only sign of wear and tear was the games room which could use a reno. The resort is built in a bay with hills on 3 sides so it made a nice contrast with the ocean in front. We love swimming and would go back anytime. Staff are very friendly and polite.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: paradise

absolutely beautiful, staff were very friendly and helpful !!! The only complaint i would have which is not much of one, is to have some circulation, example - ceiling fans in the buffet restaurant and maybe the shows at night, very still hair and some people struggling

Resonance Blu Varadero: One of my favourite vacations!!!

I really loved my time at Memories resort! It definitely exceeded my expectations. The grounds are beautifully kept, there's lots of space at the pool areas and the grotto pool bar was fantastic!! (Onight the bartender in the grotto was the best bartender ever, super friendly and always made the best drinks). This resort is massive so be prepared to walk. The beach is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The resort is at the end of the strip in Varadero so it's a bit pricy to go [... read more] into town every night to enjoy the night life. The good news is that the night life at this resort is awesome, since they have live music and dancing every night! They also have a disco that's pretty busy. I will be going back to Memories for sure.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Amazing people

I love the Cuban people and the gorgeous beaches. The resort was pretty. We had trouble with the air conditioning. They need to improve the quality of the food. The restaurants were good but the buffet was not.
