El Dorado Seaside Palms: Spoil Yourself

First class resort. The food was terrific and the restaurants and service were outstanding. Six different a la carte restaurants with a good variety. No watered down drinks and everyone was friendly. We felt completely safe at this resort at all times. If you can't enjoy this resort it's your own fault!

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Excellent holiday!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandos Playacar. The staff treated us royally, the facilities were clean and comfortable, the food was great. Did not enjoy people smoking in and around the family swimming pool.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Romantic Getaway

The "Don Pedro" restaurant for our last night in celebration of our 31st Wedding Anniversary will always be a treasured memory! An absolutely fantastic resort on the Mayan Riviera. We will most definitely visit again, and recommend to our friends.

Grand Sunset Princess: Phenomenal Trip

The best vacation my wife and I have ever had. We went for our honeymoon and stayed in the Grand Yucatan Platinum suite. It was the adults only section. It was great, room service was great. Food was amazing. Some dishes were not my favorite but the buffets had lots of variety. The a la carte restaurants were really good. Japanese and Italian food were the greatest. Each night had fun entertainment and good music. Playa del Carmen had great areas for shopping and a beautiful beach. Service excee [... read more]ded our expectation in every way and not one person did not do their best to comply to our requests. I recommend this resort to anyone especially couples. On a side note the adults only section is being expanded to 3 times the size and will be completed by December so another trip down is most likely coming for us next year. We were just there May 21st to 29th 2014.

Catalonia Yucatan: Nice, quiet resort

This was our first time to a resort. We choose this because it was a smaller resort with few children, (as we were leaving ours behind). This is exactly what we got, there was no sales people that approached us, no staff coming to offer drinks or snacks, which I was very happy about. We wanted a quiet place. The room had extremely good AC, but the buildings needed some maintenance. We spent our time in the ocean (not in the pools), it was nice to be able to go on long walks, and do some looking  [... read more]in small stores, marina, etc with out needing to leave the area.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Resort

Smaller resort and nice and quiet. However, you have access to the other 3 large resorts. With access to the other 3 resorts you can choose from among 12 a 'la carte restaurants. You also have a private beach area. Service was great and they upgraded us to there penthouse room which has a second story with a private hot tub. Also has a good golf course on the property.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Awesome resort and awesome golf!

My buddy and I travelled in May/14. The rooms, restaurants, pools, bars and beach area were all top notch. 5 star all the way. Anything we requested was a simple pleasure for the staff. I have no problem recommending this resort. I would definitly return. Thanks Sian Ka'an! Bob

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Staff & beach amazing, extras are lacking

The staff were amazing (housekeeping incredible, buffet staff awesome) but huge negative of this resort is that it now has dolphins in a tiny swimming pool and that's just cruel. I've been to barcelo 4x's and because of the captive dolphins we will not go back. Also the "extras" of barcelo are no longer offered - nighttime kids activites are basically nonexistent, and you can only eat in resteraunts (no snacks allowed up to room) and no severs by the pool or beach. Bonus was that we saw wild mon [... read more]keys outside our room :) Overall we will not be going back but this is not because of the staff or beach/pools, but cause morally seeing captive animals on your holiday is not for us.

El Dorado Royale: the name says it all: El Dorado Royale

great, clean place beach service where the staff uses your first name and even a chat with a smile excellent dining (so good you have to make reservations) very helpful consierges if you stay in the casitas

Grand Sirenis Mayan Beach: Very interesting beach

Large hotel but service is very good. Room are clean, comfortable. Beach very good for snorkeling with beautiful rock formations.Plenty of chairs and shade on the beach. Very nice lazy river and shake bar. Good food variety, never had to wait for a table.

Grand Sunset Princess: nice resort

Resort was nice but way to big lots of walking involved our room was at the back of the resort near the beach so it was about a 15 minute walk to the front for dinner our air conditioning was out in our room took three days to fix stayed in the penthouse suites asked for a king bed got 2 doubles

Excellence Riviera Cancun: One of the finest

We were pleased with everything this resort had to offer. The restaurants were exceptual as was tthe service.The grounds were well kept. The entertainment was great and they had a wide variety of acts.we have had people recommend this resort because they go quite often.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing all inclusive

Surroundings and resort itself were all beautiful and very well maintained. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, both at the buffets and the a la cartes, waiting staff was excellent. Room was clean and very nicely decorated. My only complaint was that the mattress was hard and not very comfortable which I have read in other reviews. We spent most of our time at the beach and the adult pool, both were great. Beach chairs were plentiful any time of the day, however to get a sp [... read more]ot at the adult pool you had to get there fairly early. We visited at the end of March which was spring break, we found that there were a lot of teenagers who were sometimes very loud and obnoxious, hence the reason we enjoyed the adult pool so much. We traveled without our kids but I would definitely take my kids to this resort.

Catalonia Yucatan: Nice resort

Elevators were a consistant problem, stairwells not very well lit. The crepe bar was fantastic The alcohol was watered down The hotel rooms were more than adequate The staff are fantastic and very helpful The tours were not done as explained

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Amazing vacation

Wonderful place to vacation, the service, food and experience was very good. The resort was in great condition and was well taken care of. Lots of things to do around the resort. We rented a car for a few days and visited some ruins and other attractions.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Loved our stay at Gran Bahia Principe Maya Complex

We stayed at Gran Bahia Principe Akumal from April 18-25 and absolutely loved it. The resort complex with the separate sections is a perfect lay out. Each of the main lobbies was stunningly beautiful. The long stretch of beaches was great and offered many different experiences. The pools were beautiful, though it would be nice to have some deeper pools as well for the adults and better swimmer to enjoy. The quality and the selection of the food are incredible. The only thing I missed was mango, which must be out of season right now. It’s funny how we do enjoy the Ataulfo mangoes at home in Toronto this time of year, yet I did not see any in Mexico during our stay. The bars, buffet restaurants and snack bars (24 hour) were also very good and we enjoyed excellent service, even when the resort was fully booked during the Easter weekend. Special thanks go out to Juan in the Royal Golden Club section of the Akumal resort for the great welcome and introduction. It was really nice to have him prepare us for a great stay. Just for that, the upgrade was definitely worth the extra $250 or so. We stayed in room 6226 (building 62, 3rd floor). The room was wonderful and clean. The one minor downside was that our 2 double beds could so easily have been 2 queen size beds with better mattresses, as there is plenty of room for that, but we slept fine nonetheless. We had 2 double beds and one single bed in our suite. Due to the small double bed size, we made a nice comfy little bed on the ground for our 4 year old who likes to move around in her sleep. The resort really should replace the doubles with queen-size to improve on an otherwise perfect all-inclusive resort experience. One comment I must include based on my wife’s feedback is that the trolleys need to slow down a little when close to pedestrians. I must agree that they do drive too fast. Our kids are age 8 and 4 and the resort was magical for them. The trolleys, even if they are too fast :) , made life very easy for them to visit the many restaurants after a long and exhausting day at the beach and the pools. They also loved the resort’s entertainment. The beach was perfect for them with the wave breakers that were great for sliding on and snorkeling. The kids’ water splash park at Coba was really nice, but the kids were not bothered to go back after one day in the Coba section (even our 4 year old) which suited us just fine since we preferred the Akumal and Tulum sections of the resort. Even for the kids, the service was great and the foods selection was phenomenal. The room cleaning personnel made wonderful towel animals each day. We are already planning a group vacation with our friends and neighbours for next year around the same time and can‘t wait to go back. The kids will have an even better time with many of their close friends at the resort. I hope to arrange the perfect stay for a group of 5 or 6 families that all live in our local Toronto Corktown community. Thank you to all the wonderful personnel at the resort complex. I cannot complement you enough and you made this a wonderful experience for all four of us.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: It was a excellent resort

Beautiful goods great staff the buffet was very good. The Japanese restaurant was the best la cart. Rooms were great we stay near the Italian restaurant. The room was very clean and house keeping did a great job. The lobby bar was very nice the best cappuccino in the mornings. The red wine was good. We told a number of our friends and two couples went shortly after we told them. They latter told us they had no regrets. Next time we go it's going to ten to fourteen days. Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Would definitely return to the Gran Porto Real!

Vacationed at GPR in April 2013. When we arrived the room category that we paid for was not available so we were upgraded. We loved the room but chose not to pay extra for the upgrade so we're moved the next day. Our new room was on the street side of the resort. We actually liked watching the activity on the street. The standard room was clean and comfortable with close access to the gym. The gym was small and more than adequate. Most times we would walk over the the GPR's sister resort for a swim. There were always plenty of chairs and shade. And if you like to walk the beach you could walk for hours. The food was excellent. We like buffet dining more than al la carte. My husband never tired of the food. Our sister and brother in law stayed at The Royal, the 5 star sister resort of GPR. We were able to take a short tour of their facilities and will try to visit there in the future. It was beautiful and offered many more amenities. The service was excellent. The staff always greeted us and made us feel special.

Ocean Coral Riviera Cancun: Awesome place!

Fun, relaxing, good food, fun atmosphere, amazing event team, modern rooms. They have a separate kids area so people without kids were able to relax. The beach was awesome. Alright service. Short drive from the airport which was awesome because who wants to sit on a plane for 6 hours than a bus for another 2? We probably got asked if we wanted to go to the spa 20x and were only there for 5 days! Also a if your planning on tipping, bring lots of small bills, they do not exchange for 1's at all!! Barcelo Maya Colonial: Couldn't have picked a better spot!

Everything was above expectations. The service is spectacular. No bugs to worry about at all. Just fun in the sun. The food was great and plenty of it. Will definitely be returning to this resort someday.
