Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Staff Made Our Stay

We have stayed at a Royalton in St. Lucia pre Covid. It was excellent. We had swim up pool and butler. We never saw our butler and thought we only saw him/her when we needed. The Royalton Antigua opened our eyes wide as to what the service really is. Paul & Matara were outstanding. Exceptional service. Kind and warm individuals. The hotel does need repairs. It’s looking weathered. The food was either excellent or extremely disappointing. We feel if more care was taken in the quality and taste of [... read more] the food, far less would be wasted. We loved a couple of dishes at Grazie but the sides were cold and the pasta dish that I was to have a variety of seafood only had 2 dime sized pieces of unknown seafood. That was after 2 hours waiting. We ended up at the buffet as we were incredibly hungry by that point. The staff on the entire facility were what made our stay. Remembering what we drank, kindly offering great service and doing it what felt to be sincerely. We don’t frequent the same island or do the same vacations repeatedly. This will be no exception. We will always tell people that Antigua is our favourite island thus far.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Horrible Resort! Don’t waste your money

While the main pool and beach is amazing and most of the staff is friendly and we were aware that it was a 3 star, but it was very run down, the food was below mediocre (I’ve had better in Cuba) 4 out of 7 days there was no running water on resort and management didn’t do anything to ensure we were taken care of. Staff were picking bugs out of food with their bare hands in the buffet and nothing was covered as there was an astronomical amount of small bugs and they had the buffet lights off so you couldn’t see what you were getting or eating. The infrastructure of the resort is crumbling before your eyes, and it needs a lot of TLC, better yet it should be closed and demolished. This resort is definitely not for the elderly or anyone with breathing conditions as there is only air conditioning in rooms (if they work as some guests were complaining theirs didn’t) there is no where for them to get out of the heat if need be, especially the buffet. The fact that there is a daily cleaning fee for an “all inclusive” resort is ridiculous especially after coming out of a pandemic, cleaning should be automatic! This place is a health and safety risk! Spend the extra and go elsewhere!

The Verandah Antigua: Verandah Resort review

Adults only resort. Close to Pineapple and St James resort that they allow you to go visit and try as well which was nice. Its all the same food but setup is different if you want a change. Rooms: Good, we got a room near the main pool, was clean, spacious Pool and Beach: Good, nice view, pics are accurate, snorkeling wasn't very good. it was low season so, no lines ups to get a kayak, sailing etc Food: Not all restaurants were open but, enough open and variety where things didnt feel [... read more] repetitive until tail end of the week. They have a dedicated specialty coffee shop for all the coffee addicts which helps start the day. Staff: Amazing. super nice and helpful! Entertainment: Even though it was low season they had some kind of nightly entertainment from 9pm-11pm so wasnt too late if you have a room near the main pool. We also went on the Calypso Tour and Pink Panther Safari tour, was ok. Facilities: Its a big resort and you need to call a shuttle (golf cart) to go from one end to the other, but runs all the time so you are not waiting long. It was low season so, we didn't have to wait for anything, the resort is large, so not sure how staff would cope when its full or if you would have to wait for things.

The Verandah Antigua: Excellent, Relaxing Resort!

Amazing grounds and location! Very relaxing, safe and clean. Food was delicious! All staff were very friendly, helpful and caring, especially Samieta, from the Activity Team. She was phenomenal! While the room wasn't the shiniest and fanciest I've ever stayed in, it is definitely the most spacious and had the most storage I've ever had before. It was so convenient and the fridge worked very well. We would recommend this resort to anyone looking for am intimate, relaxing vacation.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Average hotel

I did read the bad reviews but I chose to go given the availability and last min trip. Service was amazing, there was always someone checking up at the restaurants, pool or even the beach and always smiling.! Food was joke, we ate that same food for whole week for lunch breakfast and dinner. Not lot of options. To make thing worst they run out of things very frequently, even things like mango or avocado. Jolly Beach Antigua: Jolly Beach Antigua

One of the best vacations I had taken in a long time! The rooms are small! Oh well! Just sleeping! The beach is to die for! The food at the buffet was good! The beach grill was amazing. I loved that the A La Cart switched up their menus every other day! Would I be back! For Sure!

Hawksbill Resort Antigua: Dream Getaway!

My spouse and I visited Hawksbill to celebrate my birthday & we both had the most incredible time. The food was super fresh and tasty, and we really enjoyed all the food options. Our room was beautifully situated, always clean and very close to the beautiful waters at the beach. This resort is very quiet and perfect for anyone looking to truly relax and unwind. This is not a party resort and truly geared for those looking for rest and relaxation. There are paddle boards, a catamaran and kayaks for guest use. The beach was incredible and the water was so blue and warm. The grounds were immaculate and just stunning! This was a trip from heaven! The staff is so wonderful, extremely hospitable and truly go above and beyond to ensure you have the best stay. An extra special thank you to Mario, the AM, for his amazing hospitality; Dalston and David who both always went above and beyond to take the best care of us! Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Paradise!!

We stayed in the over water bungalow and it did not disappoint. Was better than the pictures and provided the most stunning views in all directions. Zo and Earl were one step ahead of anything we needed each day. All of the restaurants were excellent and we had a true 5 star experience. Friendly, helpful staff combined with stunning crystal clear water and you have all you need!

Pineapple Beach Club: Wonderful Resort

Pineapple Beach Club is an excellent place to relax , unwind and be treated well. The staff were helpful, friendly and well trained. Our accommodations in Building #1 was clean but dated. Excellent location close to the beach with a magnificent view of the beach and ocean. Food options were good and the bar was well stocked but I did not like many of the mixed specialty daily drinks. I would recommend this resort for a well deserved vacation and getaway.

The good: (1)the resort is beautiful (2) views are incredable (3) Pizza (4) wait staff in Portafino's (Nicole on Apr. 13th) (5) Sails & Tails location The bad: (1) Customer service staff need training-(2) 1 bartender at the pool bar was always on her cell phone (3) room was to be cleaned every 2 days-only cleaned twice in 7 daya (4) some staff were great, others were miserable (5) lack of pool towels was an issue but this was due to greedy guests The ugly: (1) extra charges upon check-out amo [... read more]unted to $36./day US. (2)Food at Nicole's was burnt and the lobster could not even be cut with a knife-we were told we would not be charge but saw a charge of $80.US on our bill when we got home. (3) Hostess at Portafinos on our early Apr. 13 reservaction-it was so cold and my husband asked if the overhead fan could be turned down-hostess came over and i have never been treated so rudely in a restaurant. She said the fans were remote controlled & she didn't know where they were & she would not adjust the temp. just to please me!! Not all fans were at full speed but the 1 over our table was. She moved us to another table & when I went to sit down, she told me to go back to the other table & get my water & drink. (4) no information available in our room on the resort-menus, activities,etc. When asking staff questions (even at customer service) the answer most often was "I don't know". This was our 5th vacation to Antigua and our 1st visit to this resort. We will not be back!!

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Completely Relaxing Vacation

Royalton Antigua a was a beautifully, well kept, clean hotel. We did have an issue on arrival where our swim up room was not available until the next day and we had to stay in a room on a higher floor for for 24 hours. They gave us back some money and completed the move of the room both ways for us. There was no point in arguing because we didn't want to take away from our vacation. Jolly Beach Antigua: A sorry disappointment

The hotel was quite shoddy. I was quite disturbed at the fact of no electrical outlet in the bathroom to plug in a hairdryer or curler. We had to eventually move some furniture in the bedroom to allow us to look in the mirror instead of the TV screen to do our hair. I had taken "treats" for the maids but they came home with me as we never saw a roomservice person the entire time we were there. On a number of ocassions the staff were not very friendly and acted like they were being "put out" if you asked a question, other times they were lovely. It was not what I would call a service forward resort. The room had a nice view of the ocean, but had definitely seen better days and was a long way from the main part of the hotel. At night the entertainment was lacking. The one singer/entertainer they had near the lobby was excellent. People sat around drinking or playing cards, etc. The saving grace for this resort was the beach and the ocean! Would I recommend it, no.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Great hotel for the price!!!

The beach is beautiful and there is enough food to keep you fed. It's a basic hotel that has everything you need to enjoy a reasonably priced holiday in Antigua. I am thankful for all the negative reviews, because I was relieved and pleasantly surprised to see that each room appears to overlook the ocean. What else could you ask for. If you want better service and more activities, pay the extra money and stay at the Sandals.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Hotel needs some love

Area and beach are great. Hotel has not been updated in years and very much needs updates and attention. Room was tired and grungy at best. Things are broken or missing, closet door won’t slide open, patio door very difficult to open, no plug ins in the bathroom. Anything reported to the hotel staff or WestJet rep was never acted open at all. Staff is not engaged or friendly. Until work is done to the property, I would not recommend staying there.

Jolly beach resort is a very outdated hotel What makes this hotel very good are the people that work there and the people who live there When we got there were were created with open hands an lots of cannabis,so font worry about scoring there..( don't buy weed from the resort it's no good there are so many better places to get some.. Jolly Beach Antigua: Love Jolly Beach

The beach is magnificent! You can see Monserrat, St Kitts and Nevis from the beach. There are mountains and the sunset is to die for. The resort food is good. The rooms indicate you get what for you pay for as they are very outdated. Wifi sucks! The location is nice because there is a marina, restaurants/bars in walking distance. In all, a wonderful trip. I feel safe. 6th time back!!

Pineapple Beach Club: Fabulous beach and great staff

Loved the proximity to the ocean in a waterfront room and they have stunning views. Some bathroom updates would be helpful. Staff are very friendly and want guests to enjoy themselves. A la carte booking process could be improved as having to line up every morning at 8:30 AM is not how you want to be spending vacation time. Highly recommend their Calypso Cat excursion. The crew were fantastic and the snorkeling was incredible.

Jolly Beach Antigua: Great vacation

The hotel is exactly like described. It is a 3 star resort missing some basics amenities like bottled water and housekeeping. Food and service was good and beach is amazing. We had a great time because we knew what to expect. I would recommend for a budget vacation. We went for the beach and it was amazing with beautiful sunsets. You can see they are working on improving everything.

We just returned from our trip to Royalton Antigua. Beautiful peaceful beach vacation. Hotel room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. First time staying at a Royalton we were very disappointed with quality of food and lack of friendliness of hotel staff. Food on buffet was not maintained at proper temperature, most main course foods were cold. Poor selection of food choices, same food most days with little change. Drink mixes poor quality.

Royalton Antigua Resort and Spa: Resort exceeded expectatioms

The staff were friendly, courteous, and efficient. The Diamond Club service was great! Having a butler on call was a new experience for me. I liked the breakfast at the Grazie Trattoria and the food at the Diamond Club Lobby. I ate there most mornings. The room I had was spacious, and clean, and came with all the amenities. I especially like the toothbrush with a mini tube of toothpaste and the shaving kit. I was on the 9 floor and the view was awesome. The VIBE team did a wonderful job. The information for that day was posted through the resort. I especially liked the aquafit classes. The pool area and the beach are very well maintained. The Pool bartenders and the pool beach butlers were great. How they remembered who ordered what was astounding. It would have been nice if the resort had offered other canned beer other than just CARIB. The only bad thing I would say about the pool/beach area is that they used plastic straws. A short walk on the beach I found 1/2 dozen of them. The nightly entertainment at the Lobby and in from of Score Brew house were great and I enjoyed every night. The lobby bar staff and waiters were awesome. Quite the selection of martinis. The Superbowl party on the lawn was wow! The staff created the football field and set up a huge screen for the visitors to enjoy. The food options at this event were plentiful - everything from nachos to chicken patties. I tried all the restaurants - Carribean, Grazie, Hunter, the Culinary Experience, the Marche buffet, and Diamond Club bar, and Score Brewhouse. In terms. Food at ar all the restaurants was good. I found the service somewhat slow at Score's. It was a busy night at Hunters and the two share the same kitchen. Still, it took a long time to order to get served.It was disappointing that the score only had two craft beers on tap. I like both but it would have been nice if they had other options. I would rate this 9/10
