Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Mixed reviews
- Property itself was beautiful. Great beach…pools, etc. - rooms were fine typical hotel rooms, although ours didn’t have hot water all week - lineups were out of control…although we were there over Christmas break so I’m sure that factored in - food was plentiful but not always good - I would recommend but not without explaining some of the issues - best way I’d recommend it…it’s a really good resort for a 4-5 day trip…not as good if you’re there 7 days
Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing resort and people
From the food to the beach, the staff are amazing, always smiling. Loved this resort will go back again definitely. Met some new friends and had an absolutely fabulous time here. Did a few excursions, the glass bottom boat was awesome, went fishing on the Hobi cat with the life guard Sammy, was a great day
Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Great food, but missing some key items for a 5-star resort
The beach is nice, the lovely pool and entertainment are good, and the food is very good. I liked their baked goods and cakes. Good selection of meet and fish. Very tasty. The negative side is that they could not provide blanket for us, and safe was broken and they could not fix it. Not a huge issue but for 5 star resort you should expect to get blanket if you cold during the night. I am not picky guest and I do appreciate and understand issues in Cuba, but Iberostar should pay attention for iss [... read more]
Tryp Cayo Coco: Resort Declining
I have been to this resort at least 5 or 6 times .This most recent visit was truly a disappointment. Many of the regular staff are now gone leaving many newer , younger staff members who in my opinion have missed the boat with providing great customer service and maybe going out of their way to smile .They stopped serving French fries at the 24 hour bar .No new growth in the choices of meals at the buffet and the entertainment is less then desirable. The rooms require some serious renovations an [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Wonderful restful resort
I did a female solo trip for the Christmas holidays. This is a lovely resort. I always felt safe. Clean, great staff, gorgeous beach you can walk for a long stretch. There was no shortage of food. Christmas special meals were lovely and everyone received a flower. Best of all was the peaceful relaxing feel you get while there. Many people I met had come for several years and the staff treat them like family. I would return any time.
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories Caribe
The resort was beautiful The room was nice however I asked for a blanket and never received one, towels were never changed, we only received water in fridge no beer or pop, no water pressure for a shower Buffet food was the same stuff every day
Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Frustrating Trip
I was not at all satisfied with this hotel for the following reasons: 1- very poor customer service 2- lots of equipments are out of order 3- checking in took 5 hours 4- too far distance from the airport. 5- water bottles were unavailable for guests 6- lots of flies and mosquitoes 7- they sprayed DDT, which a very harmful insecticide 8- no one is willing to serve unless tipped.
Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Great resort
The hotel was superb. The location was ideal (not too far from the airport). The hotel grounds were well kept. The three pools were clean and well maintained. The rooms were nice and well laid out. The staff at the hotel were very friendly.
Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Disappointed!!
Room for 4 a little Small. No Microwave. Fridge wasn’t working. Food was unacceptable. Only Seafood was Mussels. No Crab, Shrimp, or even properly Cooked Fish. No Fries, or any potato dishes. No activities for kids. No Entertainment program for Adults. Only entertainment was song & dance for 6 days. Non-Alcoholic Drinks were sub-standard. Pool water was cold. Not enough Towels. Poor sports equipment.
Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Amazing resort in the middle of a swamp

Playa Luxury Cayo Guillermo: It's called "Luxury" for a reason
My adult son and I decided to celebrate Christmas away from home this year and so glad we chose Hotel Playa Luxury Cayo Guillermo. We were welcomed with a glass of champagne the minute we arrived. The staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. We were treated like royalty. The grounds are immaculate, so much so, that no garbage bins can be found on the grounds. If you have trash you can dispose of it in any of the building but the staff are diligent when it comes to keeping things cl [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beautiful Resort!
Positives: Resort layout - not too big; lobby, beach, restaurants, rooms are easily accessible. Grounds - well-kept, paved, wide and well-lighted. Rooms - spacious, modern and clean. Negatives: Location - too far from airport remote) Entertainment - no beach volleyball; Daily Activities schedule not followed. Services - at the restaurants are slow.
Melia Cayo Coco: no better resort out there.
Staff are all amazing people, very friendly and kind, well organized, they make your stay comfortable and safe. We have been to this resort 13 times now, and plan to go back again this March. Food is good, large selection of food every day. Gardeners do an amazing job throughout the resort. Activities on the beach good. Bathrooms are kept clean at all times. My score is a 10 out of 10 for this resort.
Sanctuary White Sands: Resort has lot of problems
Rooms has problems with air conditioning, rooms has molds was in the ceilings and corners. For the bath towels they’re have big shortages. You have to call management many times asking for bath towels. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone else management staffs don’t wanna fix the issue not worth to go there at all. Food is very poor.
Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Great resort
This resort was wonderful. I would go again. The staff was very friendly. The entertainment staff were excellent. There was always something to watch and do. If you like home cooked meals then this is the place. I really liked their buffet. The drinks were great. The bar had a lot of variety of cocktails. The pools were clean and full of entertainment. The beach water was choppy and a lot of seaweed would come up shoreline. The staff would clean it twice daily. This was due to the wea [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Nice quiet resort
Resort is smaller and quiet, not a a lot of activities, crowd is a bit older. Food was good for Cuba, staff friendly. Beach is very nice water was warm, one pool very large, tiles in the pool were a bit slippery. Not much for nighttime entertainment, nothing after 11pm
Melia Cayo Coco: A week in paradise
This was our third visit to Melia Cayo Coco. We have been to other resorts in Varadero since our last visit here and still find this to be the best resort. The beach is wide, powdery and kept in great condition by the staff. The animation staff are lots of fun and make an effort to get to know the guests. The vibe is relaxed and the resort is not too big (250 rooms) so it never feels over crowded. In the evenings there is musical entertainment every night in the lobby followed by an evening [... read more]
Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Definitely would go back
Must admit we were a little apprehensive about returning to Cuba, but I must say if you go with an open mind and a go with the flow attitude, you will experience the most beautiful beaches and amazing people ever. The hotel was clean, the food in the specialty restaurants was very impressive, and the people work extremely hard to make sure your needs are met

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing hotel!
To be honest I fall in love with this hotel. Its a small hotel well taken care of. The food was excellent for Cuban standard. I liked all of the dinning restaurants and the entertainment in the main lobby. The beach is fantastic and I always found a empty lounge chair. Will definitely come back. Also I travel solo.
