Club Kawama: Beautiful resort!
Beautiful resort, spread throughout a large territory, beautiful scenery, beachfront. No high-rise buildings. Well maintained. Lots of entertainment - day and night. Rooms are clean, in a good condition. Especially, if you book a "superior" room you'll get a real feeling of colonial style mixed with art-deco, beautiful terraces and view. The buffet offers plenty of fruit and vegetables, fresh and cooked, this was my favourite part. No french fries, just sweet potatoes and fried bananas. Decent [... read more]
Club Kawama: Fun in the Sun!
I was at Club Kawama Feb. 12 - 19. I had read many reviews before booking the trip so I went in with eyes wide open. I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, the resort is dated and yes the food is what I understand to be typical Cuban cuisine. The staff is great! The beach is incredible! My room was clean! I met many, many people who were all having a blast! I would definitely return. I miss it already.
Roc Barlovento: Very good value for the miney
The beach was incomparable. The staff very good on the whole. The rooms were adequate. Food was good. Entertainment very good. They did run out of wine and rose was the only wine available , so that was disappointing as we don’t drink rum!
Starfish Cayo Largo: Beautiful white sandy beach
Beautiful beach, food's okay, rooms are pretty good, staff is friendly. Very short if any wait for bar service. Looks a little rundown due to sparce grass on green areas. Airport is very handy and was in hotel 1/2 hour after disembarking. Designated full nudity beaches. No bicycle rentals but Quad rental is quite reasonable.
Club Kawama: Well Past it’s Prime!
Our Standard Room had mould, smelled , had only 1 small lamp and only a bottom ( no top) sheet on each bed. When we complained we were placed in a slightly better room which was sub standard but was the only room available. The helpful Sunwing Representative tried to get us a Superior Room but they had none so we were given a room at another hotel at no extra cost. Thankyou Sunwing!
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Decent value
Amazing beach, wonderful staff and tons of entertainment. Resort is older but charming. Gym equipment was broken and plumbing wasn’t the best but overall had a great week. There is a dolphin exhibit within walking distance and the flamingos were right next door. Good value for your money
Club Karey: Right on the beach!
I loved the fact that the hotel is right on the beach! You cannot ask for more. The personnel is very friendly. The food was ok; I'd have liked dessert options. More palapas and beach chairs would have been nice as well.
Club Karey: Lackluster, you can find better
My girlfriend and I have previously been at a 4 star resort, and wanted to experience the quality of a lower star to see if it's worth it. We like to believe we have low standards, but this resort definitely let us down. Pros: -Good location from downtown -Food was fine considering it's Cuba Cons: -Took 5 days and 3 requests before finally getting our room cleaned -No pillow cases, and dried blood on both pillows -Toilet paper was extremely limited all throughout the resort (bring you [... read more]
Club Karey: You get what you pay for
This was the cheapest all inclusive available on the site. That said, lower your standards but still have a good time. Be cautious, staff can be creepy and not all rooms lock. Beach is beautiful though.
Club Karey: NOTHING I EXPECTED
Before coming to this resort I was honestly expecting to not have the best time due to the horrible reviews that I read. When I arrived is 1 million times better than I could ever have expected my friends and I got entire house on the beach to ourselves with separate rooms a huge balcony on the top floor and main floor that was steps away from the beach. There’s an amazing area of varadero that is only five dollars away from the town where there is a night clubs restaurants and other fun excit [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Largo: Great all inclusive resort - Cayo Largo is a special place
The Hotel Pelicano seems to have recently been taken over by the Melia chain which may be a good thing as it is next door to one of their other hotels (Sol) which is also more expensive. Anyway the staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful to assist with everything. Unfortunately Cuba seems to be suffering from the US embargoes and tourism is down. This means that there aren't as many guests in the Cayo Largo hotels and sometimes there were food deficiencies but the beaches are still won [... read more]
Club Kawama: horrible stay
food was disgusting ,inedible,no hot water, paper thin hard mattress ,rude unfriendly staff,no butter ,long queus for buffet,no vodka ,just terrible dont stay here and its not the embargo stayed at muthu playa in december food was delicious and had no issues at all how i regret booking this hotel
Club Karey: Terrible resort and I,ve been to some Doozies
the hotel services were Bad Start with no porters for over1hour,.The roomwas a small square with bathroom no toiletries but half a roll of toilet paper.Had a bath but no plug 2 thin hand towels which were changed once.and a toilet that dripped. It did have air conditioning but no fridge, phone or safety deposit box. There was no outdoor seating and best of all when you opened your door you could look into the next room. The sheets were so thin you could see the pattern on the mattress.Ther was no se [... read more]
Club Karey: Club Karey
Fabulous staff couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of Staff members.Eddy ,Rene,Freddy . But the food Was not up to my liking. But to each their own ,I have been to Cuba dozens of time .You get what you pay for .
Hotel Villa Cuba: Not the best
For a resort called “Be Live Experience†it wasn’t quite the live experience... The description on the websites withhold useful information such as the fact that the disco on the resort isn’t open most days. Also, the entertainment is random and often missed, besides the evening. The only way this resort could be semi enjoyable is if you book your trip for the weekend there, as weekdays are a waste. Also, hold onto your beach towels because the staff will secretly take it then make y [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Wonderful place
Food was really good, but was bit cold if you go late.service was fantastic.Bar,the beach, all was perfect.Hop on,hop off bus was very convenient to see some places. The playa plara beach was the best I have ever seen, which was 10 minutes ride from our resort
Club Kawama: Old moldy dirty resort
This resort is very old. The rooms have mold in them and do not get a very good cleaning. The lobby is dark and small. The grounds are run down but landscaping is nice. Buffet was horrible. The same food for lunch and supper. But a few nice restaurants close by. The beach beautiful, the pool clean and nice.
Club Kawama: It was okay
Needs lots of updated and more cleaner rooms does not look well maintained ,, bathrooms do not like clean stains in bathtubs ,,, smelly blankets the staff need to smile more , food can be better ,, service aren't the friendliest
Club Karey: Don't expect too much from Club Karey
We just spend a week ( January 25 - February 1 )at Club Karey, Varadero. Considering the price and our previous experience in Cuba, we knew what to expect, but even those, we were disappointed: Grounds: the hotel is spread along, you have to walk a distance to get to your destination, which could be a problem for some people. Grounds are poorly maintained. Beach: nice, long stretch of sand, but extremely dirty. It was somehow cleaned only once during our stay. If you decide to walk on the beac [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Great resort, great people
Gran Caribe was a great surprise for our family. The beach is wonderful, the pools are really good and our rooms were comfortable enough. Above all, the people who works there are the nicest you can ever meet. Do not forget to taste the great dishes being served on their new restaurant on dinner time.
