Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Nice resort. It hadn't changed much since we were there last year.

The rooms are very nice and so is the beach. The food was ok. It's Cuba, so you know you are not going thete for that. The staff is super friendly. There was always plenty pf food. We plan on going again next year

A quality resort, very clean and very well maintained. Very friendly and attentive staff in all areas. Excellent food choices and high end beverages. Fully equipped gym and lots of activities to work off the extra calories.

Great hotel, the staff was amazing. The beach not nice. Pool area was much nicer. The bathrooms could use a face-lift. The beds were very comfortable. The food was good but not the best for a 5 star hotel.

The hotel was very beautiful and very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful with us. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. I did not like the set up of the whole bathroom. For me that can be a deal breaker. The buffet was good for breakfast and lunch but for dinner not as good as the a' la carte restaurants. Definitely there's room to improve their whole menu.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Worth every penny!

Immaculately kept! The staff are always busy and engaged. They try hard to ensure your enjoyment. And a great holiday. A TRUE International selection of alcohol and foods. This resort gives great value for your dollar.

Well looked after, no hot water and only had rain shower head was not good for females, one night got ill lasted 12 hours food was not to temperature at buffet al a carte were great the staff were all great

Really positive things: rooms are perfect, location, ocean and beach. Fresh bread daily. Room for improvement: service as in the speed, urgency and being proactive with drinks for the buffet. Most days we were done eating before anyone brought us water or other drinks. Always a battle and very disappointing. Things you cannot change but expect: repeat food options, limited but always will find something to eat. Same with drink options. Lots of alcohol but when you’re looking to mix, good [... read more] luck, you’ll be guaranteed a rum punch but no Pepsi,Coke or equivalent. Not many « normal » vacations drinks. Mojitos the odd time if they had supplies. No toilet paper in the main area bathrooms. Minimal or no soap in the main area bathrooms. Low battery in the safes, if they work. Low battery on the door. General slow service when requesting things. Example: we had a kids bed in our room and needed a sheet, pillow and blanket and had to ask 3 separate times for a blanket before we got it over the course of 2 days. We waited for pool towels for 24 hours. If you don’t change the pool towels first thing in the morning you won’t get a fresh one. Peak times no hot water in the shower. Overall it’s a nice resort with the expectancies of Cuba. The beaches and weather are great and if you’re going for food or drinks, choose a different hot destination.

We liked pools and beaches, hotel is great, the staff are slow but very positive people. The biggest problem was food, they do their best with the food, but I'm sure it would be problem for some people. And if you have dietery restriction, it very hard to know what food is made of, next time I would love to see name and ingredients of each food. Thanks

Positive: beach is beautiful , clean rooms and housekeeping staff is extremely nice. Negative: Food and Drinks:Same bland food every day, no hamburgers, no pizzas, no fries, no hot dogs, no chicken nuggets for the children. Limited juices and the only soda was sprite on occasion. For the alcohol extreme limited choices throughout the stat I was able to have some vodka once or twice. Entertainment: Hardly no activities during the day and at night. Buffet staff were miserable and if you asked for cutlery or a glass of water it would take 15 to 20 minutes; as they were to busy talking amongst themselves.

We arrived very late at night after a long trip, not the best start to a vacay. The hotel staff was quick to get us a room but they were short on accommodation due to New Years so our room was not as expected. They said "No problem, please come back in the morning and we will get you another room." The next morning we approached the front counter with our concerns. They were amazingly understanding and so helpful. We wound up getting the perfect room! We can't express enough just how much the [... read more] entire hotel staff made us feel welcome. Rooms were beautiful - spacious, clean, lots of hot water and great air conditioning. However, they do need to have blankets available in rooms. Pools were clean and had lots of lounge chairs. Food was not hot at the buffets and lacking vegetables. Not all food was labelled and we were often uncertain as to what we were eating. Grilled food was good and hot. Breakfast as good and hot. Sandwiches at snack bar were good. Beach was nice with lots of lounges and shade available

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Our favorite resort

We absolutely love this resort. I am mobility challenged and this place is totally accessible starting with the small size along with the elevators to upper floors. This year was our 3rd year in a row and we will be going back next year. We loved Manuella, Yelly, Smiley as well as the bar tenders Thomas in the lobby and Tobias at the pool. Our butlers (Daniel and Edward) were excellent and did everything to make our stay comfortable. We had one of our suitcases damaged on route there and went to Air Transat customer service to report it but have not heard a word since. It has been 1 month so I guess they are blowing us off but suitcase cost $100+ and now has no wheels and large gash in the side. We will try to keep following up but are not feeling positive. Anyway this is the resort o go to. Although they say adults only I saw at least 4 or 5 kids under 18. So be aware.

I spent a week at this all-inclusive resort in Cuba, drawn by the stunning beaches and incredibly affordable price. The location is fantastic—right on a gorgeous stretch of white sand with crystal-clear turquoise water, and the pools are large, clean, and beautifully maintained. Unfortunately, the on-site experience was let down by several service and maintenance issues that made parts of the stay frustrating. Upon arrival, there were no bath towels or beach towels in the room, which took time to resolve. For the first two days, the shower water was consistently cold, which wasn’t pleasant. The room key card kept malfunctioning and locking us out multiple times, requiring repeated trips to reception. Speaking of reception, the staff there were often inattentive and unhelpful, which added to the frustration (service: 2/5). The rooms themselves felt dated and in need of refreshment (2/5), and while the food was acceptable with some variety, it was average at best—nothing particularly memorable or exciting (3/5). In summary, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly beach getaway in Cuba and are willing to overlook inconsistent service and minor room issues, this resort can still be worth it thanks to the beautiful natural surroundings and great value. Just manage your expectations on the service side.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Would not recommend

It was my first time to Mexico with the last two years at Punta Cana. This resort was disappointing. Very poor and unfriendly staff really stood out. Food was cold everyday at the breakfast bar and restaurants did not compare to anything we went to in punta cana. We still had a good time because we were there with our family but this was not a 4 or 5 star resort.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Clean and Colourful Resort

A nice resort with lots of dining and entertainment options. Our room was modern and spacious. We were expecting two double beds but made it work with a king bed and couch. The beach is beautiful but packed with people. I would love to see the resort use heating apparatus for their buffets. Unfortunately we had a lot of cold food. Definitely something easy that the resort could improve upon.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Disappointing!!

Not a 4/5 star resort, dirty hotel room, mold, stains, drywall damage, damaged paint, non working safe, locks broken on doors, worn furniture. Black mold and all other issues reported to hotel but nothing was addressed.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Bofff

Hôtel désuet, bouffe très ordinaire, des charriots plein de vaisselles qui se promènes au buffet et qui font un vacarme fou. Pas de grille pain nul part, petite plage, on ne peu pas marcher vers la gauche car un gardien nous empêche de marcher, vers la droite il y a des rochers. Setieusement c’est vraiment pas fort, je ne recommande pas.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Amazing resort and people

From the food to the beach, the staff are amazing, always smiling. Loved this resort will go back again definitely. Met some new friends and had an absolutely fabulous time here. Did a few excursions, the glass bottom boat was awesome, went fishing on the Hobi cat with the life guard Sammy, was a great day
