Love the Royalton

Highly recommend the Royalton for a relaxing, top-notch vacation. fiona at TripCentral recommended the Royalton and couldn't be happier. The service, food, entertainment and cleanliness were first rate. The beach is smaller than we would like but the quality f the resort more than made up for it. We will be back

The hotel and ground are immaculate. The staff were very friendly and hospitable and made you feel like you were a part of their family. Food was exceptional especially at the Jerk Hut on the beach! ☺

Amazing resort for a family, not for young adults

Overall this was an "ok" resort for a couple in their early 20s. Although it is an amazing resort if you're considering going with family. Resort: - overall very clean - never ran out of beach towels - a lot of Mosquitos - make sure to bring bug spray - beach was clean - no seaweed, although looking at previous pictures there's a lot of seaweed, I think it depends on the time you visit - the gym is better than most resorts Food: - Steakhouse: food was cooked perfectly, everything we ordered wa [... read more]s delicious. Tip: order the creme brûlée - amazing! - Italian: service was superb! The dishes was either amazing or bland, the portions are a little bit smaller than normal - Japanese: overall from start to finish was very entertaining to watch - esp for the kids! Order the deep fried icecream - it's amazing!! - Buffet: just your average buffet, sometimes things didn't taste like they normally should. - Beach BBQ: the jerk sauce are made fresh daily so some days were spicer than others - which I didn't mind! The sides like the rice sometimes tasted stale, it could be because of the wind. Other than that, had the BBQ everyday for lunch! Service: - everyone was friendly, wasn't once given attitude - didn't feel there was pressure to tip - there's only 2 bars open at night so it got a little crowded and slow - Our maid wasn't the best, she forgot to clean one of our washrooms for the entire week. Overall it's an amazing resort for families, there's the water slides and the kids section. A lot of entertainment throughout the days to keep the kids busy. There's also a babysitting service for a couple hours if you'd like to take a break and relax. The nightly entertainment are fun to watch, very interactive w the entire crowd. Would definitely come back once I have a family of my own. Unfortunately we are in our early 20s so we got a little bit bored by the third day, but I understand why this resort got such an amazing review.

Amazing service

Everything was perfect just need more choices for vegetarian. Pools were clean. Rooms were almost cleaned twice a day. Unlimited calling US and Canada was a bonus feature. WiFi was avaliable anywhere on the resort.

Great place to relax

hotel service was incredible! EXCEPT AT ANY OF THE BARS. They do a really good job at making it impossible to get buzzed. Most bartenders took way too long to make a drink and the end result would be a virgin ( No alcohol). I would tip mini bar guy and he would leave me 1 water. Food was great! View was beautiful! Hot water was hard to come by on the 5 th floor with minimal pressure. Room was pretty small for almost 5 gs. Entertainment crew was pretty good, beach was beautiful! Island was nice,  [... read more]lots of hustlers trying to sell you stuff, it got reallllllllllly annoying. I felt pretty safe, lots of security. Really small resort. Child friendly somewhat. I found that at least one elevator was broken at a time. So I always took the stairs due to a massive line up. Random poop winds were pretty gross. Definitely a resort for young children and seniors.

Great Staff

It was a great experience for our first time in Jamaica. The hotel was beautiful, very clean, well appointed and a perfect size. The hotels best feature, however is the very well trained and sincere staff. It was a pleasure to be greeted by everyone with a smile and pleasant conversation, every time they encountered you no matter where that was. I would certainly recommend this hotel and have already done so.

Royalton White Sands beach resort

the hotel was beautiful, very clean and beds were very comfortable. the food was delicious and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel.. We also loved the excursions outside the hotel.

Fantastic Resort

The service here was incredible. Probably the best service I've had at an all-inclusive so far, and I've been to dozens. Food was also good, I just wish there were a few more options for dining. The Jerk Chicken hut on the beach was the best jerk chicken I've had. Ate that almost everyday at lunch. The beach is a bit small but it was never too packed which was good. The standard rooms are REALLY small. if you can afford to, opt for a larger room.

Exactly what we were hoping for!

This was my first all inclusive resort experience. We traveled with my sister, her husand and their 8 year old son along with my husband and 7 year old twin boys. The lobby was well laid out and we were directed to the Diamond club lounge for check in. The rooms were laid out a little different than expected but still spacious enough to accomodate our family of 4 very nicely. The food in general was amazing. The onl [... read more]y food I would have said was not excellent were the Italian restaurant and Zen as the food did not feel authentic. Specifically the sushi and the chicken parm. For Diamond club guests I expected better options for dinner wines. The beach areas were large and clean. The locals were present but not pushy. I would suggest Sunwing talk to their floor reps to get the hint when guests aren't interested in the "pitch" breakfast and tour. Overall our experience at the Royalton White Sands was exactly what we had hoped. Our 7 days of fun, sun and off site activities was a perfect mix. April may not be everyone's perfect time to get away from the cold Canadian winter but it worked well for us.

Excellent resort

Service was exemplary, food great, resort amenities wonderful. Beach side buffet night and entertainment was fantastic! Basic rooms were small but very reasonable accomodations. Overall, great resort with well balanced mixed of relaxation and entertainment.

Nice family place

We just got back and it was perfect The food was good, staff always there to help and Jamaican people are so cool. The resort is perfect for a family. Every thing is close and they have a great pool for young kids.

Awesome resort

Excellent resort .. They above & beyond for everyone at the resort Danion Clark is an asset to the royalton .. Never met such friendly staff .. Grounds beautiful .. All restaurants were delicious !! Amazing pace u won't be dissatisfied with this resort !! Can't wait to go back :)

A well kept secret!!

This is our third visit to the Royalton White Sands, Montego Bay in 3 months. All visits have been excellent with the best service one can imagine. Diamond Club...We had the added feature of the diamond club on all three occasions and this included extra luxuries such as access to the diamond club and the exceptional staff. There was also the assistance of butlers throughout the entire stay. Our butlers were JERMAINE and ANDRÉ. They always went beyond the call of their jobs. Everyday they woul [... read more]d locate us throughout the day on the resort to assure that everything was okay and that we had everything we needed. A quick phone call to one of them got us service. On a few occasions, they left a fresh fruit tray and a bottle of chilled wine in our room. Upon arrival on the third trip, Jermaine had left rose petals and decorations on the bed to welcome us. They made us feel very special and welcome at the resort. We also met the diamond club manager, JENNIFER VERNON-JARRETT. She was vocal in getting us an upgrade and assured that we had everything needed for a relaxing holiday. Rooms....were clean and modern with a beautiful view of the ocean. We upgraded to the presidential suite and it was amazing....lots of room and amenities. Food....All restaurants served a good variety of delicious meals. JANET at the breakfast buffet will cook you eggs any way you desire. She remembered what my order was every morning and was always willing to prepare my eggs. The hostess, CHANDELLE at the steak house was quick to get our regular table every time we visited the steak house. Then there was RYAN at the Zen restaurant who cooks and entertains for his audience. Pools....are cleaned everyday and well kept. The adult pool has a pool bar that is a lot of fun. Our waitresses at the pool, SHANOY and YVONNE were always quick to assure that we had drinks and were even available to get us food at the sports bar if requested. OVERALL....this resort is outstanding. The employees work as a team to assure that everyone receives the best service. Everyone is SOOOOO friendly and happy to assist. The resort is clean and well maintained as everyone works together. A special thank you is also extended to ALEXANDER ARIAS and DAHLIA WALKER and their staff for going beyond the call of duty to give us the VIP treatment. All three trips were well worth the cost and we will definitely be returning next year for another 3 trips!!!!

Not a 5 star resort

This is not a 5 star resort. Most of our group had issues with their room and room service. Water leaking out of show, poorly lit rooms, late room cleaning, no towels in room. Entertainment was poor - only 2 good shows Michael Jackson and Bob Marley. If you rode the elevator you were approached all the time about their "vacation club". The only thing good about the resort was the food. There is no cooking class as advertised for the hotel. No reservation required is a lie. For the steak house yo [... read more]u needed it and there were always empty tables in the restaurants. Not sure if they were short of staff. A meal in the steak house would take and 1 1/2 hours. That was not necessary. There are better resorts in Montego Bay than this one and for less money

Resort is beautiful

Place is very nice, good for families or just to have chill relax vacation, nightlife is somewhat limited. Beaches are nice but small there is public beach just a walk away which is beautiful and can rent kite boards on the way.

One of the best places we ever stayed at

We had a fantastic stay at the Royalton. We we're a bit skeptical about going to another all inclusive resort since the last one we went to was not a great experience. However, the Royalton was able to change our minds. Everyone has different things they look for in a resort so what I like might not be for everyone so here goes: My wife and I are 30 and 28 respectively. It was a fully booked resort when we went to the Royalton in February 2015 yet we didn't feel like it was crowded. We were able to walk around freely and without being subjected to lineups anywhere. First and foremost, the food is fantastic! We are very concerned about the food since when you stay somewhere for 7 days, you want it to be good. The buffet always had fresh fruits, fresh veggies and very good selections of food. I always ate lunch at the beach where they had an open pit BBQ where they cooked Jerk chicken along with roasted potatoes and other sides depending on the day as well as a great jerk sauce to go over it all if you wanted. You NEVER had to wait for a restaurant which we were skeptical of at first since the last place we stayed you had to book every a la carte dinner and the last place we stayed at overbooked their restaurants and we could never even book a meal! We ate at all the a la carte's at the Royalton and the only one we had to wait for was the Steak house restaurant and even at that it was like 2 minutes...and you're on vacation so even if it was 10 minutes, go get a drink and wait :) The Japanese restaurant does require a reservation. You can book it between 9AM-1PM and we had no problem booking it. The beach was clean, seats were always available and had a great view. I saw a lot of people on past reviews say that the beach was not nice or not big enough...I dont know how big of a beach you need or would want but we were quite content with what we had. The bartenders are great too..in fact the entire staff is so friendly and genuine. We never heard a "no" the entire time we were there. Always smiles, joking and truly made us enjoy things. There were a few pitches for a breakfast at the steakhouse (which we already expected after seeing others post about it) but they were not pushy and it really didnt bother us. There were a few people and merchants that would walk the beach trying to sell things but they were so tame that it didn't affect anyone...We talked to a few of them and they were just happy go lucky people and when they did offer you anything and you declined they instantly wished you the best and left you alone. I honestly can't complain about anything about the resort...although I'm sure if I was a pessimist I could TRY and find things but I chose to see all the good stuff from it and I would definitely return to this resort in a heartbeat. If you want a big party atmosphere, this may not be the place. It's low key but still has some nightlife and lots of things going on in the day (beach volleyball, pool games etc) but it's not a hookup place for singles. The only thing that wasn't according to plan was our room assignment. When we arrived, many from our group were issued a "non luxury" room that had a partial ocean view but also a view of the maintenance buildings and cook house and cleaning supplies locations...really not a big deal but we did inquire about it. They said they were overbooked and said we could transfer rooms when it was available. Some got theirs the next day, we got ours two days later BUT we were compensated for the difference in room prices by our agent. Some didn't get compensated but we did so try for it but in the end I dont think it would have soured our trip. Besides, we were barely in the room anyways. One other thing to point out was one night our AC stopped working. We weren't sure what to expect of maintenance but we went and told reception and they said they would look at it. We then went and ate supper, had a drink and when we returned it was WORKING AGAIN! We were very impressed by the fast turn around. We will definitely return to this place!

Amazing family resort.

The resort was very well looked after. Staff were very freindly and helpful. We booked 3 rooms as a family and they were all together. Disappointed that everything seemed to close at 6 pm. Pools, bar at the pool etc. Food was good but could have used a little more variety.

Excellent Resort

This was not our first time at this resort and will not be our last! Love everything about it! The staff are amazing! It's very easy and convenient to get to the pools, beaches, restaurants and entertainment. Highly recommend this resort!

Relaxing holiday!!

The resort was very clean and the service was excellent for the most part. The food was very good, the pools were clean, the beach was very small, the drinks were plentiful. The resort is on the smaller side, as are the rooms and it often felt very crowded. But overall, it was a very nice place to spend a holiday in the sunshine!

Great resort for all ages.

Resort has very clean grounds, pool, beach, rooms, public washrooms and restaurants. There is some seaweed at the beach but you can still swim in the waters. Very family friendly- there is so much for the kids to take part in- movies, kids club, night entertainment and water park. Very relaxing atmosphere for adults who just want it quiet or it can be entertaining and fun for those who like the music nightly entertainment. The Italian is OK but the steak house is excellent and first come first served basis makes it difficult for some to get in.
