Great resort-worth money

Clean rooms-well looked after services-access to long beach-our time - Jan 2018 end to Feb 1st week- Had plenty of sunshine and was able to enjoy the calm sea-some light winds. The food was good as usual but still needs some different variety -as usual this is hard to be found in Cuba. The resort had friendly atmosphere as more Adults and few kids .

Good Value!

The staff are friendly and good service at the restaurant and rooms. Everything is clean. The resort is old but has a nice landscaping for 3 star that they said. It was nice that we were far from other resorts in the area and surrounded by farms. Beach is nice. Gym is a joke. They offered massage on the beach that I make sure not to miss next time. Food was OK. I am gluten and dairy free and stayed with my diet and could find something to eat all the time. unlimited drink but no fresh ju [... read more]ice. lack of fruit for sure. Nice pool and I enjoyed the entertainment programs specially sailing. staff at the front counter were not helpful but overall good value for the fee.

Dated resort needing some upgrades

Just returned from a one week stay at Hotel Rancho Luna. Our objective was met. We wanted sun, warm days, nice pool and beach and got all of those requests. The resort is tired. It needs some fresh decorating. The staff works hard to maintain the property and it is clean and well kept. The rooms are small. Maid service is ok. Food is cold. Meat is prepared on a griddle that could be alittle hotter. But if you like cold Brussel sprouts, cold cabbage and cold mashed potatoes well this is your plac [... read more]e. It was a disappointment for sure. But the biggest disappointment was the number of men who were accompanied by Chikaes or Prostitutes that were there for the week. I guess you could call it rent a date but for this being advertised as a family resort I would think twice about taking my children. The front desk seems to be unaffected by the activity that goes on and seem to dismiss any problems. We met some really great people from Ontario. I wish the circumstances were different as we might consider going back to this resort because of these great people but probably won't happen. This resort is inundated by French Canadians from Quebec most of who are rude, obnoxious, arrogant and loud and feel like they are the privileged few. For that reason and the other reasons I stated this will not be a resort that is will revisit.

Awesome vacation

This property offers exceptional value, and the staff are awesome! I recommend though that you do NOT travel with Cubana airlines. Their service is the worst, and they are ALWAYS suffering delays due to mechanical issues.

Love the grounds!!!

This was my first time here, just loved the grounds with beautiful plants.Also layout of the room.it was fun to see the horses in the field.and hens walking around near the beach bar. The maid service was great. And staff were cordial. The down side I'm sure was not fault of hotel.but by mother nature. Not a great variety of fruit.and.what I ate was not ripe. This is my 8th time to Cuba.but 1st time in January. I would not come back in January.but probably would return.

First time visit

well much to my surprise the hotel was clean and comfortable. whereas its the little things that were missing like a greeting cocktail porters for our bags but due to a very late they did offer sandwiches at the snack bar rooms were decent hot water was hot wheelchair accessible was great to see all around the site overall it was a pleasance stay

Rancho Luna Cuba Cienfugos

WoW i was really surprised .For me i stayed there a year ago .It was not to bad.But this time i had a great trip one of the best i have ever had.Great room looked like a post card when i opened the curtains. what a view..People were super friendly could talk to anyone.the staff all ways had a smile and very helpful. The food was great i was never hungry lots of great things to eat at every meal .Had the best roast pork and gravy i have ever had. Great resort

I loved the layout of Rancho Luna. Having the beach right there was a bonus! The restaurant was amazing for choices of food. The cleaning staff helped us everyday making our stay enjoyable coming into the room with the bed made and a clean room. All the workers are so friendly and helpful! Having a hard time walking it was very accessible for me! Also Louisa went out of her way to retrieve my lost luggage at the airport.

Very good resort

This is our second time in Rancho Luna Cienfuegos very good food clean hotel nice staf we would come back again to this resort Roy was a our favorite person in there I have to mantion Luisa she is a very nice person with a nice personality

You get what you pay for

The hotel is very clean. The staff ensure that the beach, restaurant, lobby, pool is very clean. The rooms are older but effort is made to try and make them comfortable. The food is the same all week with little variation on meat choices. Bring your own sauces, pepper, peanut butter etc... as their only spice is salt. The lunch restaurant on the beach is delicious and a nice place to sit while enjoying a few drinks. The people are kind and there are many regulars that come back a few times a yea [... read more]r. My issues were that there were many times that I did not have warm water and the lack of assortment of food. I was also disappointed with the amount of older people hooking up with the very young Cuban women and bringing them to the resort

Good resort! :)

The hotel is good kept clean....hotel staff are awesome....i have a few that made the stay feel more like home then a hotel....my pizza / french fry guy who always came through for us at night...George our dining hall waiter he always had our table and drinks waiting for us! My favourite bar tender Nelson he made really good coffee!!! Special thanks to our chamber maid and Luis the poom guy who is family !!!

Very good hotel

Good resort for its price no question good location good food nice and clean swimming pool nice and friendly personel close to Cienfuegos ,all in all I beleive I will stay at this resort again as soon as I star planing another vacation probably in couple of months.

Resort was good for a 3 star

Good resort for a 3 star in Cuba. Friendly staff and the rooms are clean. The food needs some improvement. I brought my own hot sauce and ketchup to add a little flavor to my food. Not much to choose from in the buffet . I was there during the low season, med November, weeks after hurricane irma. This could've been the reason why the food wasn't the best. I would visit Rancho luna a second time.

Fantastic resort

Hotel clean grounds wonderful staff couteous food good. Lots to do in town also went on excursion to Trinidad. Wonderful little city. Lots of night life in Cienfuegos. Weather perfect cool at night hot during day.

Disgusting Hotel

Over all the hotel and its accommodation is okey, but the Hygiene practice of staff was extremely poor, water with the yellow color was non sanitary and I picked up a stomach bug, and several bites on my body which has became infected ( Bed Bug ) and still I have not seen any improvement, just remind you, I used at least 30 bottled water for my regular wash and brushing.

Very bad experience

Hi there, I have to let you know that my recent trip to Cienfuegos was the worst trip I've ever had. Our original booking for October 28th was cancelled and i got full refund. But I had to reschedule my working days and.... we booked again for Nov. the 4th for Cienfuegos Rancho Luna. For first two days no water in the resort or very very dirty and smelling.  Because of that they moved us to Trinidad for one and half hour drive for each way. Packing unpacking for another two times which we had [... read more] never planed to go there while we had unfinished business in Cienfuegos. After returning to original hotel my friend and I got sick and diarrhea. We were referred to onsite nurse for help too. For the rest of our trip we had to stay close to our room.  The food quality and quantity was bad. We had two room, 374 and 375. I will never go back to that resort or city again.

The hotel is good .but we have to leave because of Hurricane Irma . I just stay 3 days of 7 days in the hotel.I would like you send me another free package to finish my vacation thanks for it. I am waiting to get email for it. Sam

Dont Take A Chance

The food is gross the hotel shower and toilet need CLR IF YOUR LOOKING 4 CHEAP ACCOMIDATIONS AND DONT MIND NASTY THEN GO Thats all i could say To many Cubains I would not reccomend Hotel Rancho luna to friends only my enemys

Same as before

The beach was small and no swim area. Ran out of ice, pop, etc. The trinidad excursion was not the greatest. No pina coladas at all, or mojitos. Music went on until 1 am. Pool was green,not able to swim. Not enough activities, no bingo. no pharmacy, nurses and doctor did not want to help. restaurant service sucked. the flight was ok and meal. the air condioner in buffet was not on. they need circulation fans everywhere. more help in the alacarte.

You pay what you get for

In general, the beachfront scenery is nice and Trinidad, El Nicho Falls are worth checking out. The food wasn't great, but the issue was more about presentation, cleanliness and hygiene than anything else. Flies were everywhere in the cafeteria and we even spotted roaches in the salad bar. That and the lacklustre attitude of the serving staff is unacceptable.
