This is an excellent service, done by Karol Chareza from beginning to the end. We had an amazing time and we enjoyed the service and hopefully we see you next time...possibly next year. Merry Christmas

Great resort , Good value for the money,

Lots of lounge chairs around the pool and at the beach. Many cabanas on the beach. Staff helpful and very friendly. Standard room was in need of an upgrade, but adequate. Food in the buffet was the usual Cuba fare. Other venues around the resort were good, Entertainment was the best I’ve experienced in my 7trips to Cuba.

Never disappointed

Just got back from my fourth trip to Sol Palmeras, Varadero. I look forward to going back again next year in October. As long as I am able, this resort will be my Destiination. I have made many friends and look forward to seeing them again and again. Thanks to Dayana ...a new friend and wonderful lady that helped me out travelling for the first time on my own. Little people need entertainment as well. There have been so many positive changes I have seen in the last four years. The buffet dining room is gorgeous.... All white with some black accents and natural wood dividers that are more decorative feature and not a wall The ice cream stand and the juice bar are facing each other and again all white with natural wood elements, seats and tables. Sol Palmeras has a beautiful beach.. It is so large! If you like your own space there is lots of room for you to be away from the crowd. Travel to Sol Palmeras once and you will keep coming back ...

Sol Palmeras 2019

Went in September 2019 for a wedding. Hotel was clean for being on the ground floor but I always bring bug spray just in case. Staff were respectful and kind. No entertainment throughout the day/night other than the disco on the resort. Depending on the type of stay you’re looking for— But found this resort to be quieter.

Great time

We stayed in Sol Palmeras for 4 nights and 5 days. Our stay was fantastic and overall we had a wonderful time. The positives: 1. We arrived at the hotel around 12PM(4 hours before check in time) and were able to get a room right away. The front desk gentleman provided us with the option of staying in one of the Bungalows( at an extra cost of 20Pesos a night), but we decided to stick with the suit in the hotel. 2. Our room was pretty clean and tidy. There was no odd smell like other reviews. O [... read more]ur cleaning lady was very nice and did a great job at cleaning the room for the next 5 days. 3. Food at buffet was adequate. Food in the restaurants in the resort was much better. We stayed away from the fish as we were worried it would upset our stomachs. There were not much salad options(no tomatoes/lettuce). Lots of cold cuts, pasta, meat, rice, etc. 4. We managed to make a reservation at three different restaurants, we enjoyed Italian the most, amazing food, and friendly staff. Mexican food was good too. 5. Beach was breathtaking, we swam in the ocean for hours and had lunch by the beach bbq area, there were burgers, fries, hotdogs, shrimps, rice, etc. 6. The resort had a great retro look. It was clean. Lots of places inside and outside to get food and drinks. A couple of stores in the resort as well for small items. There is also a shopping plaza within walking distance. There is entertainment on any given night including singers. There are cute lizards by the pool. The staff were friendly and helpful and most spoke English good enough. 7. Entertainment was amazing at night, we attended the Disco night, pool party, concert and dancing. A few things that can improve: 1. The hair dryer in the room is very weak, your hair will get dry faster if you have someone blow air to your head. 2. While taking a shower, the water leaks from the bottom of the tub and the washroom floor gets flooded with water. We tried putting a towel there, but that’s not enough. I don’t know if this was just in our washroom, or any other rooms experienced the same thing. 3. One small cockroach in our washroom, would only come out at night, we accidently stepped on it one night and killed it lol Overall, It was one of the better resorts in Varadero. For the price we paid, it was well worth it. We didn’t have much negative experience and had an awesome time there.

Good resort

Nice beach, nice pool, pretty clean room but older tiles and furniture, food not too my taste and every day the same, staff helpful but not so friendly.We went to enjoy the beach so it was good. Entrateinment was good. Starts at 10. Hotel close to the beach.

Great resort

The hotel itself was beautiful, the rooms and bedding were a little dated and not a fresh as I would have preferred. They should have left more than 1 bottle of water for a room with 3 people. The staff were very nice for the most part and the food/drinks were good.

Sol Palmeras

The hotel was very tired looking and dated. The a la cartes were mediocre and the buffet was acceptable. Our room smelled of urine, all the time! We had difficulty receiving water despite the fact that the water was not potable and tipping everyday. The staff were polite and helpful. I would not return nor would I recommend this.

Great resort overall

We didn't go to many resorts in Cuba but this one was the best. The beach and water are impeccable. The layout is very convenient - everything is in the arm's reach. The resort is clean and staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable enough. Beautiful Beach!

This hotel and the grounds are huge, with many bungalows as well. The best part was the beach, which was clear, cool, shallow for a great distance, and a beautiful shade of aqua blue. If you speak Spanish, you will be happy here. If not, you will feel like you are in the minority. If you are a senior citizen, be prepared to stay up later than usual in order to catch the live shows. They don't start until 9:30 or 9:45. The club house had no dominos and no playing cards while we were there, so bring your own. There are several excursions offered, at a substantially extra cost. Take the little train to Plaza America for a free outing. Or take the 5 CUC shuttle bus into Varadero centre for a little excursion. There are no clocks anywhere in the hotel, bars, or restaurants, so wear a watch if you don't have a cell phone. Best restaurant was O Solo Mio.

Amazing place!

We just loved the beach Rooms were nice and clean! Service was good! Food was also good Our favorite was the beach and the ocean Overall we had an amazing time and we will definitely go back and recommend this place to our friends and family!

Great resort, amazing people breathtaking beach. Close to Varadero, lots to see and do!! Food was a pleasant surprise. Clean rooms and towels daily. Treat the hard workers well and they will treat you well. Cant wait until I can return.

Amazing Potential

Staff were amazing (only exception was the store clerk and ala carte reservation staff) The check in process was slow, which was disappointing at 130am. Check Out was much faster. I wish there was AC in the lobby. Much needed at times. There was a bit of a smell in the lobby and in the rooms. Something we have experienced at other Tropical Destinations, but could be avoidable to create a better experience. Beach was beautiful. Pools were fine. Bars were great. Only ate at 2 Ala Cartes (Mexi [... read more]can and Brazil) Both were great. Rooms do need a bit if work (grout, etc...) Maids did a good job, but rooms could probably use a major clean. We chose this hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews and ratings, and with a bit of work...this hotel could be Amazing. Also wish there was refreshments in the room fridge, just warm water. No pop or beer....something offered at other all inclusives we have stayed at. Entertainment was decent, wish there was an outdoor show. There was a beach party advertised on Friday...we thought it was at the beach...but it must have been an indoor show :(

Our first trip to Cuba

This was our first time to Cuba and we were not disappointed, the beach, Hotel area, pool, attractions and best of all the friendly employee's and staff they were amazing. We stayed in the bungalow that was very nice had lots of room and our Maid was great. The area was very clean and the sun wing rep was great, especially the day trips, we done two of these and they were great to see the area and City. Our biggest adjustment was the food, even though the selection was great and very good we just had to adjust out pallets

Amazing Resort

This hotel is great. Rooms were a little dated but clean. Food was plentiful and tasty. Staff were friendly and courteous. Olga in the buffet went above and beyond. Lasiel in the lobby bar was a sweetheart. Our maid Beatriz always had our bungalow clean. We had an ongoing issue with the AC but was always looked after as soon as the call was made. Very clean and wonderful resort

The rooms were clean, air conditioner worked very well, fridge kept drinks cold! The beach was incredible! Staff were polite and friendly. Beach towels were big and fluffy! We want to bring the kids next year!!

Amazing Family Vacation

We stayed in a bungalow as a family of 4 (kids 14 &12) over March Break 2019 and had an amazing time. We have vacationed in Cuba in the past and enjoyed the food at this resort much more than at previous resorts. The staff are super friendly and accommodating, the grounds are beautiful and clean and the beach was perfect. Although this resort is a bit dated (although renovated in many areas), we would return in a heartbeat! Pros: - good food in buffet, large selection - a la carts Chinese a [... read more]nd Italian were the best, Mexican was decent (did not try the International or the Caribbean) - nice ground / tropical layout / amazing beach and crystal clear water - good activities, badminton area, ping pong, basketball court (nets in pool as well) and beach volleyball - friendly staff - ice cream hut and fresh juice bars were a hit! - daily beach lunch bbq was great - lunch in restaurant by the beach (burgers/hot dogs/pizza/ chicken) enjoyed by all Cons: - bungalow was a bit dated (but clean) - first bungalow was in the 400 section which was a 9 minute walk to the main pool area/restaurants - this bungalow was older and had a bit of mould on the bathroom mirror (we asked to switch to something closer and they accommodated our request the next day). I would recommend the 100 section if available. - pools are also a bit dated but didn't bother us at all This is the first all inclusive we've been to as a family where we all said we would return again!

Excellent value! Fabulous service!

The mature grounds are beautiful to look at and very clean. The staff are knowledgeable and willing to provide great service. The entertainment is talented, but there is not enough of it. There is 24 hour alcohol,,but unfortunately there isn’t 24 hour food service which is more important.

Very busy resort.

This is a very busy resort in the month of March. We thought it might be quiet booking after the March break but that was not the case. Staff handled it very professionaly and did a great job. The food was excellent and never too little. The a la carte restaurants are very good as well. If you get the opportunity to take in the water show at the pool do so, it was very well done. The only downfall is there are no restrictions on reserving chairs by the pool or beach. I believe that every resort  [... read more]should have a 15 minute restriction that states if a towel is left on a chair and no one sits there in 15 minutes the staff can take it and give the chair to someone else.
