AVOID AT ALL COST

I had read the reviews and it's truly worst than what I had read online. I went first week of April 2023. This is a 2.5 stars, not a 5 stars. When I told them that they said it was a 5 star and it's my opinion. I paid 1650$ and it was worth 800$ MAX. The place is falling apart- not at all as the picture. If you are not in the adult only section you cannot go to most of the pictures advertised, they will treat you like a second class citizen and you only have one buffet to eat breakfast, lun [... read more]ch and dinner. Staff only serves you when/if you tip, they sometimes dont even serve you coffee or pick up your plates. BEACH: So the pros is that the sea is nice. But there's NOT enough chairs. If you love being harassed this is the place for you. Literally 20-30 people will come up to you within a day and NOT leave, you will have to interact with them because they are very persistent. They are selling stuff, but mostly are drug dealers trying to sell weed or cocaine. I don't do any of that so it was very upsetting to constantly being asked for this. I'm a woman, when I put sunscreen they literally sit in front of me and compliment me, they refuse to leave. There's one guard with a dog pretending to be security, but he chills with the drug dealers so not sure what that's about. The life guard NEVER look towards the water, always on their phone and chilling with locals. Overall, its exhausting and frankly so so soo unacceptable. POOLS: Everyone pees in the pool, its slimy and visually dirty. There's not enough chairs literally less than 50 for the pools for hundred of people. People wake up as early as 5am to go reserve them by placing a towel and proceed to go about their day. The chairs are mostly broken. Its just disgusting, so I would go to the beach, but then would get harassed and come back to the pool. ROOM: The room is moldy, things are broken. No safe, No place to store your clothes I had to leave it all in my suitcase. Its humid and all my clothes still smell like mildew. The housekeepers are the nicest ladies of the resort, they truly do the best with what they got. But there's literally shit on the walls in the hotel hallways, water on the floor everywhere. There's not even a holder for the soap, there's rust everywhere it's really reallly messed up not gonna lie. ACTIVITIES: Nothing is fun, they play the same 5 songs on repeat for the whole week, everyday it's the same thing. Overall, the most boring place I've been and ive been to Punta Cana before, Cuba several times, Mexico a few times, Hawaii a few times and Jamaice. This was the absolute worst hotel ive ever been in my life. STAFF: The front desk staff would literally talk shit about me in front of me, the most disrespectful people I have met. They didn't know I spoke spanish. They are the least helpful, they just redirect you elsewhere, and when you go see the others, they redirect you to the front desk, basically no one ever helps you. The staff in restaurant and bars, some were very nice, some were very bad. The bad ones would just not serve you, not give coffee even when u ask. I would ask them to come and they would stay far away and scream what ? They wouldn't pick up the empty plates, wouldnt smile ever. It was just a really bad experience that makes u feel like shit all the time. FOOD: The food tasted good, the only reason why i survived this none sense. But it was advertised as thought theres lots of bars and lots of buffer - That's a lie. One buffet, most bar you cant go if u arent VIP (the nice ones that u see in the pictures), the a-la-carte restaurants were good, you are allowed to 3 in one week. Just the food was good, that's the only thing positive i have to say. Basically, avoid at all cost. i wouldnt go back even if they paid me, the way they make you feel and being constantly harassed isnt worth it. And the place is falling apart because they are closing the hotel soon and another hotel will open. So don't go.

Hotel / resort Be Live Collection

The hotel is fine but the rooms are beyond terrible. This resort is closing on then15th of April. The should tell agencies about this. The food was great and the restaurant a la carte are superbe. The beach is fantastic.

Bad resort ever

the hotel is full of local people, sometimes they will ask you if you need cocain especially in the disco and casino, at first day they gave me a dirty room that smells of mold, they don't want to change the room I stayed up and negotiated with them until 4 am, after that the guy wanted money under the table, I gave him $20 and he gave me a premium room, the buffet is good, the beach is not the best, the service is very bad ,people are always angry and disrespectful you feel like you are botheri [... read more]ng them when you ask for a drink. in conculsion forgotten this resort if you do not want to be disappointed during your vacation.

Wonderful spot

The resort was wonderful, staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, and rooms were clean. Only thing was if you wanted a hot shower it was a hit or miss when you would get one. The food was wonderful, I had seen complaints and was worried, but it was wonderful and a great selection.

Needs work

I was very disappointed with this resort, it is in need of some major repairs. The rooms are dated and in need of some TLC. There isn’t enough loungers and most are broken, people save loungers with towels to not even use them at all. The resort allows the locals in on the weekends and the service goes down hill, not to mention most are not very friendly. The beach was just okay, water wasn’t what is expected in the Caribbean. Nice Resort

It was nice. Our phone never worked despite many visits to the Front Desk, and there was no hot water, but they did send a plumber the next morning when the sink started to leak. I met a person who had changed his room FOUR times until he got one with both power and water. My daughter and partner were in another room, and their safe had no lock. Not what i was expecting

Overall i give it a 4 out of 10 Got really sick off the food. Rooms where terrible Mold in the showers. The beach itself wasnt clean. Not a picky person but i was expecting a little more for the money i spent. Would not recommend anyone to visit this resort. I'm trying to find something nice to say but i just cant.

Worst vacation anyone could have for first time.

The resort was dirty. Prisons have cleaner jail cells than the rooms we stayed in. Beach was disgusting, we have nicer beaches in Ontario, Canada! Beach is filled with rocks split my toe open on a boulder. Food was gross, have felt sick since I ate the food and have been puking and shitting since I got home. DISGUSTING

WHEN YOU READ THE BAD REVIEWS FOR THIS RESORT .. listen to them and RUUUNNN THIS PLACE RUINED MY FAMILY VACATION! We all came home sick the dirtiest resort we have been to the staff DO NOT do their jobs the locals take over on weekend leaving now food!!! The beach is a swamp I mean I have seen better swamps!!!! Never Again!!

Be Live Collection Punta Cana…so much potential. Food was good, a few staff were nice and the resort itself isn’t bad at all in terms of the grounds and appearance. We had hot water, great cleaning services and plenty of clean towels (those who travel can appreciate this statement). We have a written filed report, resort videk they provided us and phone numbers of the rep who called us and charged us money to return the stroller. It was a whole ordeal. The last three days we found ourselves scrambling for food and spending our time in our resort room. The resort allows their locals to stay Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was a very difficult experience as many of the locals were rude, completely took over the pool and dining areas and we were left with a terrible experience. We will never visit this resort again and very saddened to have experienced such a horrific time with our family. There was no management of the accessible spots and therefore we could not access the beach with our baby stroller or areas specific to accessibility.

Awesome vacation

The resort was beautiful. The food was great. The hotel and the rooms was always clean, but the only thing I was not happy that the safe was included with the room to protect your personal items. The people there was very helpful and friendly.

Good resort!

Overall we had a very good vacation. Tripcentral provided us with all the information we needed to leave/arrive in Canada and Dominican Republic. We had accommodation in building 4(of 18!) and the evenings and the beginning of the nights were very noisy. The food was good. We used only the buffet because we wanted to get quickly on the beach. The beach was excellent and the water temperature around 27 degree Celsius. The weather was excellent. Not too many activities on the resort. The ph [... read more]one didn't work, we had 2-3 days when the TV did not work. During the weekend when the locals were in the resort, the buffet was overwhelmed. We could not find a plate to put the meal on. But we were there to enjoy the weather, the sun and the beach, that were marvelous. We just did not want to leave the paradise. Thank you TripCentral!

Staff are as Amazing as the Resort!

Operations Manager, Nestor Coforreal is beyond outstanding! From the time he met us at the front desk on our late night arrival to the day we left, he did everything he could to make our stay exceptional. I would return just knowing he is there and looking after things! We had a great trip, resort was great, staff are excellent and do everything they can to assist you. Would return in a heartbeat!

Exception Grounds

Overall we were really pleased with our stay at Be Live after bit of rocky start. We arrived at 11AM and had to wait until 3 for room which was expected. They gave a towel cards and bracelets so we could swim and eat which was awesome. Our room was in an awesome location ground floor next to one of many pools but probably due to covid had been closed up for a while and had a real musty moldy smell. We were hesitant to change it due to perfect location so stayed 1 night but it was too much. They  [... read more]were very good about changing though we had to wait until 4pm when new comers were all checked in..they up graded us to a junior suite which was absolutely awesome..the grounds are like nothing we have ever seen..so clean and manicured..pools were all really well maintained. The beach was beautiful but you had to be there early to put a towel on your chair or u were out of luck. We kept our same spot all week. Reception desk staff seemed over worked but all other staff out of their way to be friendly. I think our biggest surprise was the food..my wife is a fussy eater so I was a bit concerned but she just loved the Windows Buffet with all the many choices..she was trying everything. A la cartes ..the Milos Méditerranée was really great..went there twice..japanese and Mexican were also great. Steak house bit if a disappointment. We only did 1 4 hr excursion for snorkling on the happy fish..Really professional group. Booked through Viatir on line but u can book through hotel vendors and there are lots and lots of vendors everywhere. All in all this was an unbelievable adventure and we would return. Just heads up..they will do everything possible to rope you into a hotel time share seminar..we had been through it before so they gave up on us after 10 a bit but our neighbors were stuck for 3 hours though they told you up front 60min.

Awesome Resort!

The Riu Republica was amazing! Beautiful grounds, beach , rooms .. great service.. had a cake brought to my table for my birthday! Rooms are clean and well stocked .. staff are very friendly and helpful..

Disgusting resort

On December 23, we took the long-awaited vacation trip after 2 years of a pandemic. We chose the Be live Collection Punta Cana (rated 5 stars) to immortalize this moment. But unfortunately, as soon as we arrived at the hotel, our holiday nightmare began. It started with the room we were accommodated in, it stank of sewage, it was dirty, the bed was horrible, the elevator was punctured, rusty, the place was very dirty. We made the first complaint as soon as we checked the situation of the  [... read more]room, we changed rooms, we thought it would be a little better, but the nightmare continued, the bed was hard, the bathroom flooded, lots of mosquitoes. Again we asked for a change of bed, we arrived at the end of the stay (06 January) and the bed was not changed, even with several complaints made. Regarding the sanitary measures of COVID, the hotel is far from complying with them, at the reception there is no gel alcohol, people do not wear masks, employees wear masks below the nose, the rooms the hygiene team does not use alcohol. Restaurants are not sanitized with alcohol. We felt disrespected, we worked hard to have the dream vacation, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Can you imagine paying a high amount to be happy with your family and due to the bad service, bad hygiene mainly, no COVID protection measure for your 10-year-old daughter to acquire COVID and you having to extend the nightmare even more. In view of the situation, the hotel at no time was sympathetic to what we were going through. We were already weakened by so many complaints made and never resolved and we still had to give him positive with my daughter, where isolation caused us even greater psychological trauma. We paid more for stays that passed the initial period, I stayed on the first day of isolation in a room that was not working: TV, air conditioning and internet. Only on the second day of isolation did they solve the problem. We were offered room service and the food was terrible, just vegetables and protein for a sick child. Since then, I have gone to the hotel buffet myself to be able to feed my daughter better. On the fourth day, I asked for the room to be cleaned and they accommodated us in another neighboring room, the same one with a dirty sofa, only one room light working (room entrance light). Detail I’m still here suffering every day!

Mediocre at best

The night we arrived, they placed Julie and myself in section 1700 which was about a mile from the main buffet...Julie is disabled and I have bursitis in my hip. They next day we requested a closer room and the DOWNGRADED US to section 5. The room only had 1 chair on the balconey and it took over 2 days and 5 requests from different people (We finally ended up talking to a manager of the hotel and our Sunwing Rep) before we got results. Because of Julie's neck surgery we requested a firm and  [... read more]a soft pillow (which was supposed to be part of the pillow service) and that took over 2 days. We ate at the Lobster restaurant first night and they wanted us to pay for a lobster. The next night was the Japanese Restaurant and I can't describe what they considered to be Japanese food. For my birthday we went to the Steak House (where they wanted us to pay for the steak) so I ordered a filet mignon from the menu (free) and they burnt the outside and provided a baked?? potato with no butter. The main buffet was the best food at the resort mainly because I could skim the grease by taking from the top of the food. We had numerous communications problems with nearly ALL the people who worked at the resort. In closure, we will NEVER go back to that resort. The problems we had are too numerous to list and I will be sending a letter to Sunwing requesting compensation for the extremely bad service we received at this resort.

Worst resort ever

in your booklet you have this resort as a 4 1/2 star it is a 3 star at the best. Day one no water, air conditioning, couldn't flush toilets; day 2 no water for part of the day, no air conditioning the heat in the room was unbearable, no hot water. Day 3 no electricity for part of the day. Day 4 couldn't get beach towels; day 5 couldn't get a chair at the beach; day 6, had to file a complaint with the desk to have our sheets changed. Every day we need to get someone to clean pigeon droppings off our balcony. The carpet in the front lobby was filthy dirt what a welcoming sight. We tried to use the telephone in our room and find out it was there for a decoration only no cord going from the telephone to the jack in the wall. Took 6 days to get this fixed. There was mold everywhere throughout the building, water running down from the ceilings during the rain and you could see where the ceilings were never fixed, mold and the paint peeling off. The floor in the main lobby had a big hole where the tiles had broken and left a huge gap. The rest of the tiles where loose and you were scared to walk on them for fear of falling through. Our beach beach wraps got stolen off the beach so much for security on the beach. We were suppose to have a butler, well that was a joke we saw him when we arrive and only one more time when we found him, not him looking for us. The resort is next to a marina and the diesel and waste from the boats made the water very murky and a greasy layer on top of the water. How this beach ever got rated a 5 in your booklet is unbelievable. The We filed a number of complaints as that was the only way they paid attention and we got things done. The Air Canada Representative William was useless, we left him message which were never returned. This is the first time in the past 22 years of going down south that we couldn't go in the ocean for fear of getting sick. Of the hundreds of people on the beach you saw maybe five people in the water at anytime. Our first 8 days of vacation were so stressful that the vacation was ruined. We paid $3500.00 each for this 4 1/2 Star vacation got a three star at best. There were never enough loungers or beach towels on the beach, people were fighting our loungers and stealing towels. It was unreal for a 4 1/2 Star resort. If you check our file you will see we have been travelling with Air Canada Vacations for the past number of years and have been totally satisfied with the resorts in your booklet. We have mostly travelled to adult 5 or 4 1/ 2 Star resorts, so these numerous complaints are not frivolous. We know what to expect and this resort didn't even come close. I have taken numerous pictures of the dirt, mold, water, marina and a number of other things that we disgusting, I will say we did enjoy the food and some of the staff. I felt so sorry for the staff for the number of complaints they dealt with in a day. Every resort we went to over the years the staff were very cheerful and helpful. When you walked by the staff at the resort they just walked by like you weren't even there. We talked to a lot of people at the resort and they were also very unhappy. Be Live Adults Only, Punta Cana

Certainly wasn’t a 41/2 or 5 star. More like a 3 or 3 1/2. No attention to detail or maintenance. Things around the resort were falling apart. SeaWater had an oily feel due to Marina next to it. There only save in grace was the buffet with good food and attentive staff. Rooms were clean but not spotless. Had to keep asking for towels, facecloths, change of linens, etc Not the friendly place we were use to after 15 other visits to this region.
