Great resort

Had a fabulous time, weather was great, food was tasty,and always fresh. Beach was clean ,service good,would recomend it for sure! We did a day trip to Pilar beach, the most beautiful clear water ever,if you go to Cayo Coca,this beach is a must!

Beautiful week in Cayo Coco!

Our week at the Ilberostar Daiquiri was wonderful! Our room had a king size bed as requested and an ocean view that was perfect! The staff were always friendly and very helpful throughout the resort. Everything was always kept clean and staff were always busy making improvements and repairs. The food in the buffet was always plentiful but tended to be repetitive as is typically seen in Cuba. Bar staff were always friendly and there never seemed to be a long wait for our drinks. The Cuban “rum” bar also served delicious strawberry daiquiri’s! We are early risers to go for beach walks so we never did see the show at night. Our last night we had our dinner at the Mexican al a carte which was very nice! Overall we had the quiet relaxing week we had hoped for. We’ve had many trips to different areas of Cuba and we both agree our second time at this resort was one of our nicest trips!

Picturesque Resort

This is a small, picturesque resort with a good view from almost all the rooms. The beach since it was widened is excellent with a gentle slope in the clear water. After a storm in Jan 2020 the staff cleaned up the seaweed as quickly as possible and area is well maintained. The resort is older and the maintenance personnel work hard as do all the good people at this resort. Picturesque Resort

We have visited many resorts and keep coming back to this smaller, picturesque resort. The beach is excellent with crystal clear water. If a storm brings in seaweed the beach is cleaned quickly and this area is well maintained. The rooms are big as older resorts generally are and in good shape,if you have a problem the maintenance staff will respond quickly. The food is good although during our last visit in Jan 2020 the staff at the a la carte restaurants were under training which resulted in  [... read more]some confusion and should be rectified with time. The staff in the buffet are excellent and work hard to provide the service you expect. The main reason we return to this resort is the staff which work hard to ensure you enjoy your vacation. The personnel at the main desk are great as are the bar staff and generally all the people working there are most friendly even though some guests are a little grumpy. We will continue to return.

Amazing Resort

I have to say the staff at this Iberostar Daiquiri was very out going plus they went out there way to make sure everything was okay Room service was very good and room was all the time clean and as the same would go out there way too. The same go's for the food and staff. All I have to say is my stay at Iberostar Daiquiri was very good and looking forward to go back down there on Saturday Nov 28/2020 and see all the staff again.

Super friendly staff !

I went with my mom for a batteries charging week ! We had a great time ! It was Super relaxing, the staff was crazy friendly ,the entire resort was very clean but unfortunately NO HOT WATER in our room all week!

A Great Resort !

Just back from an amazing week at the Daiquiri. We had read many negative reviews prior to leaving. Well we just don't understand what the negativity is all about. The staff are awesome, especially the pool entertainment team and the bartenders. The buffet/kitchen staff are so friendly and nice. Beautiful lobby and grounds. The beach is beautiful. Lots of umbrellas for shelter from the sun on both the beach and at the pool. The food is really good. Lots of variety, well prepared and much of it ' [... read more]to order'. Rooms were good - comfy bed king size bed, mini bar, excellent maid service and a very modern bathroom. Only problem we had was very low hot water pressure in the shower for a few days. It did eventually get fixed. A great week at a great resort. I highly recommend the Iberostar Daiquiri in beautiful Cayo Coco and hope you have as great an experience as we did.

Loved our holiday!

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The resort is clean and well maintained with a staff who work very hard to please. The food was very good. Selection was vast and always plentiful. The waitstaff are wonderful, so personable and courteous. Our room had a great view with clean towels and restocked water and occasional beverages every day. Only problem was the hot water pressure in the shower. This was looked after by the end of our week. Amazing beach with chairs  [... read more]available all the time. Pool area was great with the option of being in a busier, fun part or the quieter side. Entertainment staff were fantastic! Would definitely return. Love, love, love!

Great Resort

Resort was wonderful, small resort easy to get around. Rooms were good, food was excellent for Cuba. Only thing was the wind, great for Kite surfers, but not beach lovers. Maybe the beach is not so windy in peak season.

Great family vacation and kiteboarding

Stayed here Jan 5-12, the temperature dropped to 24 the day before we arrived, and Jan is a windy month, but lucky for us, we were there to kiteboard. And the kiteboarding was amazing! I was charged 30cuc just to get my kiteboard bag from the airport to the resort, a bit of a cash grab considering It didn’t cost anything to fly the gear here all the way from Canada, but it cost $45Cdn to but it on a bus for a 1/2hr drive, maybe it was an AirTransit thing as I’ve never paid this fee the past  [... read more]5 trips, but this was the first time flying with them. After the first night we moved to a room on the east side of the resort, right beside the pool, ground floor. This was a perfect location for us, we used the patio door all week, steps to the pool and close to the beach. The staff was happy and helpful, daily they would come around the pool and take drink orders, they were serving donuts each day, chopping open fresh coconuts. We even had special coffees delivered right to our patio in the morning. We would tip, but we didn’t tip everyone every time, and it certainly didn’t effect the attitude or service of the staff. We ate at all the restaurants and a-la-cartes. The food was really good for a remote area of Cuba. We were comfortable letting our two sons stay up late as the resort is small enough that it feels very cozy and safe. A couple nights they came home at 3-4 in the morning, having met friends their ages (16 & 19). Only complaints were that it was not super hot, but it is January and you can’t control the weather, the there was some bugs, but we were the ground floor and our patio door was open a lot of the time. Kiteboarded 6 out of 7 days, I did pay the 25cuc, which is supposed to pay for the rescue guys, but they never came back the rest of the week. So basically I paid to use the ocean. Cash grab. Although it is a great place to teach, both my sons got up and we’re riding. So happy to see, it was worth the cost of the trip right there. Low tide is a fun time to walk way out on the sandbars, great for photos Over all it was amazing and would return but maybe in April when it’s a little warmer

Awesome resort

The beach and pools were well kept and great places to be Nice , friendly and helpful staff Good variety of delicious food The entertainment was good A few repairs needed in some places and some updates needed in the room

First Vacation: Amazing

The resort staff was very friendly, made a few good friends. The food was decent and the resort was beautiful. The beds were a bit hard because the mattresses were thin but I expected that being in Cuba.

A delightful week away with my girls :-)

This was our first trip to Cuba, so we kept open minds. Truthfully, I was on a tight budget, so it was my only choice for a Caribbean get-away with my three girls (ages 20, 18 and 16), and I am so glad we went :-) The white sand powdery beach was GORGEOUS!!! The staff at the resort were so helpful and friendly, especially the Dining and Entertainment staff!! There was always fresh bread, cheese (the best Emmenthal I've ever had!!!), eggs, bananas, chicken, rice and beans, salads, etc. We celebrated New Year's here and the staff outdid themselves - what a fun night!! The champagne was flowing, the dinner was great (booked time slot at the buffet) and the party was a blast! The resort itself was very clean and safe. The staff were accommodating when I asked for our rooms to be changed because of water and safety issues (no hot water in one room, musty smell in both rooms, lock on one door not working). The common areas of the resort and the pool are great (always clean!), but the rooms are a little tired and in need of some upgrades. The toilet in one room needed to be fixed three times during our stay, but it was looked after same day, so clearly making guests comfortable is a priority. Water pressure between 4:00 and 6:00 pm was poor (clearly EVERYONE showering!!), so we waited until after 6:30 to shower most nights.I could nitpick about the repairs needed on the resort grounds (like the tennis courts, some of the paths to and from the beach), but in the end none of it took away from the great time we had. One issue that has nothing to do with the resort but worth bearing in mind when you travel to Cuba: the WiFi is spotty at best, couldn't get more than 15 minutes of access a day. If you have "roam like home" or equivalent and need to stay in touch with folks back home, that is the better option. A heart felt thank you to the staff at Iberostar Daquiri for making a girls' get-away for this "Mama" a bucket-list item I can tick off with the fondest of memories!!!

Not what we expected

We were surprised by how run down the rooms were but the staff and the beach made up for it. We were happy that we brought our own catsup and mustard with us to have on the burgers and with other foods. Unfortunately our children don't like sea food so it took them a couple of days to figure out what they could eat.

Beautiful resort

We loved our stay at this hotel. It's a small resort but the staff and service was amazing! Our room was upstairs in the main lobby, plain jane but ok. Food is alright. There is always something you can find to eat. My favorite is the omelette in the morning but the pancakes are delicious as well. The beach was fantastic!!!! I would definitely return at this resort.

Beautiful beach

This resort is very small and cosy. Some rooms are update some are not. The food is ok Very little selection of veggies and fruit. The beaches are amazing. Alcohol selection is not good. The main bar had better vodka for one day. (Absolut). The CUBAN people are so friendly. Customer service elien. Probably spelled name wrong was super nice. Overall we enjoyed our stay

Wonderful time

The hotel was very nice, the staff were friendly, the organized activities were fun and the food was plentiful and great. I was very impressed with the food and the variety of food we were offered. I would definitely stay there again.

Very nice resort

The food was good, keeping in mind that the food is never the reason to visit Cuba. The people are great, the beach fantastic, entertainment awesome and drinks were awesome. Sometimes the mosquitoes were annoying so keep in mind that rubbing Gin on your skin works well while anything with DEET does nothing so leave those behind.

Great Resort

The Hotel was good nice and clean and the Gardner’s work hard to keep this looking good washroom are an issues never had tissue and did not flush properly so you just start having your own supplies in your purse . I am alway a little disappointed with Sunwing because there is always delays coming or going or most times both . Not sure l will fly with them again .

Staff Make A Vacation Pure Enjoyment

Iberostar Daquari – Cayo Coco, Cuba We arrived close to 10:00 p.m. and were greeted by the friendliest desk staff I have ever encountered. One clerk ran over to see if they could leave the buffet open later for us and said we could leave our bags and check in after dinner. Staff were very kind from the start, we went on to find that all the staff in every section of the hotel were just as friendly and helpful. Even though the resort was running at 30% or less capacity, everything was available to guests. High quality entertainment was brought in each evening in the lobby. We did not attend the performances in the theatre, but they looked like fun. The room was average and a little on the small side with some typical wear and tear you find in tropical ocean side resorts. The big plus was that there was an ocean view from the garden level where our room was. The food and liquor was not as good as a higher star resort but beautifully laid out and served by delightful staff. The beach was absolute perfection and the pools were very well kept. The beachside restaurant and snack bar were very good and what they lacked in selection they made up in friendly service. Overall I would recommend this resort for any type of visitor to Cuba, older folks, families, singles and couples. A relaxing or interactive vacation depending on what you are looking for. Note to management that name tags would be a good addition to personalize the staff and help some of us remember names.
