Great resort

The hotel is dated but clean and staff very friendly they helped us with information regarding things to do and where to eat off the resort We will return had a awesome time and the weather was amazing

Beautiful beaches

Great food and friendly staff. Overall resort was clean. Great place if you're looking for a quiet place to getaway and relax. Rooms were clean. Front desk was always helpful. Would definitely return to this resort.

Loved it!

This was my first time in Cuba and it definitely won't be my last! I absolutely loved this resort and I will be revisiting very soon. The rooms were okay- not the best, the water pressure was really low- but honestly, who stays in their room anyways? I love the small town feel to this resort- everything was just walking distance away which was awesome. The Beaches were Superb! Best beaches I have seen- and you must take a trip to Pilar. Wonderful vacation!

We just returned 1 week ago from cayo coco and stayed at sol cayo coco. We loved it. It was simple, clean and comfortable. Everyone was always friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the smaller resort, it was easier to make new friends and get to know the employees. They all work so hard. There is acsess to 2 beaches, we spent our entire time on the beach so I cannot really comment on the pool area. Playa Larga was spectacular. I will return again next spring to the same hotel.

A little treasure

The staff make the difference with Sol. They are humble, entertaining and welcoming. They remember small acts of kindness and most greet you with a wide smile. Sol is a small, older resort, often referred to as a boutique resort. The staff work hard to maintain the resort but it does show it's age in some areas. They have been making a number of improvements and branding the resort for everyone. The resort being small, is easy to get around for those with mobility issues. There is access to two  [... read more]different beaches and two other hotels. The food is fine with a variety of theme nights. The fresh fish at the beach restaurant is excellent. Maintenance staff are very responsive when repairs are needed and the cleaners, gardeners, animation team. wait and bar staff, reception and entertainers all do a good job with some excelling at customer service. We will be back.

Love this Resort

The Sol Cayo Coco is an excellent all around great resort. It's clean, great food (even beef) which was good,excellent a la carts, manicured grounds and the best beaches I have ever been on. The rooms are basic but nice and cleaned everyday...the only minus was the water pressure at certain times was low and not a lot of hot water but just during peak showering times...no big deal! Try this resort for the price you can't go wrong.

Great Value

The Sol Cayo Coco has so many positives that they out weigh the few small negatives. The most important things, like the beach, the staff or service, the food, the pool and gardens, comfortable rooms are all excellent. The small negatives are things like old furniture, or rough walkways. The hotel is in the best location in cayo coco, with access to 2 beautiful and different beaches. The pool and snack bar area (and outdoor buffet area) are unique because you can be sitting in them and still see [... read more] the ocean. This is unusual for most hotels. The smaller size of the hotel makes many of its features special and unique. If you want a beautiful and more quiet hotel then this one is for you. If you want to party with crowds of people, then you might want to choose a larger resort.

Loved it!

It was our 7th time at this resort so we know what to expect. The staff are amazing as usual! They make you feel right at home! There are always a few hiccups: one being the lack of toilet paper in the washrooms but I came prepared! The beaches are great, the food is average but always something for everyone. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful staff and great small resort

Wow, the staff are fantastic, always ready to serve,tip or no tip. Ground are well cared for, resort is mall if you like that which we do. Food was the best we have had on eight trips to Cuba. Buffet is very very good. Go for the ocean view room, views are superb. Room 1430 is the quietest in the resort with the best view. Maids keep the rooms very clean, well done!

Sol Cayo coco

We recently visited sol Cayo coco ..our first impression was good until we went to our rooms (ground level) they were dingy,smelt musty and the fridge and ac didn't work..we were moved the next day to the 3rd level were it was much better.The resort itself was clean but do recommend taking toilet paper,extra towels and face clothes as there is only 2 bath towels. The food was really good lots of seafood..pool area very nice..definetly go to the beach on the other side of main beach as the one in [... read more] front of the resort was nice but due to high winds couldn't go in the water(red flag all week) but the other beach was secluded and was beautiful. If your looking for a quiet relaxing vacation it's perfect.would I go back unsure

Amazing beach

The Sol has a quiet beach out of the wind in a sheltered cove as well as the main one in front of the resort. We had an ocean view room and it was lovely. Food was good, loved the pizza. Will definitely be back.

Great Resort! With a need for improvement.

Great all around but had to upgrade my room and even then there was very poor water pressure, flat pillows. A $1900 turned into a $2100 trip very quickly with upgrade. Still enjoyed good service and beautiful beaches!

Best beach in Cayo Coco

We have been to several hotels in CC (Mojito, Tryp, Playa), and this by far has the best beach. The water is deep enough for swimming and you don't have to wade out forever. The beach is also excellent. For long walks, even in high tide. The grounds are nicely kept, but amazingly, you don't see caretakers/cleaning personnel loitering around. Great smaller Resort

Sol Cayo Coco is a very nice smaller resort! A little older and the rooms need some updating, are very clean. The resort is easy to get around, with 2 beach areas available the pool is good,but cold. The food is the best we have ever had in Cuba! Fresh fish, shrimp and meats available at grill daily in main buffet. All the usual buffet items. We even had 1/2 a large lobster available. Very nice stay

The hotel was nice. The rooms were clean and spacious. It was quiet at night for sleeping. The staff were all friendly and happy which I feel makes a vacation ( I was at a different resort/Island that was spiffy and new but the staff were terrible and rude beyond comprehension, even the music was angry and intrusive). However here it was laid back and easy listening to live music and the staff were lovely everywhere I went. Pleasant. Yes as others have written a coat of paint would help but the colours they chose are pleasing to the eye, just a fresh up would benefit. I always had hot water and good pressure. The grounds were nicely kept with flowers in the gardens, bathrooms and a sprig on the tables. I had a lovely massage at the small spa. I liked the lunch dinning room on the water, never too busy, excellent staff there as well, fresh fish everyday for lunch. However they had plenty of other options. I think everyone should have at least one meal there. (more really). The beach is beautiful, lots of chairs and shade for all. If it's a windy day there is another sheltered beach around the bend that is part of the resort and serves drinks there also. They had paddle boats, sail boats to take you out to the reef for snorkeling and feeding the brightly coloured fish. I heard all the rooms had ocean view but mine did not, one can upgrade while there but each day at 4ish the men would come play soccer shirtless in the late afternoon so I had no need to change my room. My view was fine, Cuban men are very fit;). Enjoy your stay and relax.

Beautiful wedding at Sol Cayo Coco!

Just got back from a lovely vacation/ wedding at Sol Cayo Coco! The wedding coordinator was excellent organizing our special day. That day was perfect! Friendly and helpful staff! Went to amazing Pillar beach about 45 minutes away from our resort. Beautiful beach with white powder sand. The beach at Sol Cayo Coco had the best beach of all the hotels along the strip. Kid friendly resort with a kids club. Nice pools also! The food was really good and lots of choices! Definitely did not go hungry!  [... read more]Hotel lobby was very nice. Lots of bars to choose from. Best bar tender was Orlando! He's amazing! Some areas needed some fresh paint and heard a couple rooms has leaked when it rained but they were moved to another room. Great hotel if your on a budget. It's not a five star but still nice. Guests can visit other hotels in the area. Close enough to walk to. People we stayed with enjoyed the pool bar at a nearby hotel.

Cozy resort

This resort had the best food that I have experienced in my 3 times to Cuba. The quality of the staff and fresh food at the stations were excellent. I enjoyed choosing which station I would have my food efficiently prepared at.

A Good Value

This resort is located on a lovely beach, and only 10 minutes from the airport. It provides good value for the budget minded traveler. Buffet food was good, but repetitive. Room was out-dated and requires work in the bathroom, notably caulking around the tub. Staff friendly and helpful.

Wonderful

First time out of Canada in 24yrs....it was all I was hoping for. Enjoyed my stay and can't wait to return to Cuba. Sol was lovely, seems to have the best beaches in my opinion on my beach walkabouts.

Cosy resort

Nice beach, bathrooms outdated, good food, public washrooms lack of soap and toilet paper, hotel needs updated, average entertainment. Lack of information for hotel events. Grounds well kept. Beach restaurant should serve drinks during the day before 12:30--and after 2:30. Too far to walk to the beach bar.
