It was good

Everything was OK, nothing really over the top but nothing at the bottom. Only issue is with the vendors on the resort constantly harassing to buy stuff even after you purchase already. The beach towel card thing is annoying also.

Average resort

My thoughts on this hotel are. The grounds and public areas are clean and fairly maintained. The rooms are big and average. The service and maintenance of our room was below average. Noisy A/C unit (when it worked). Had an issue with our A/C thermostat on our the first day in the resort, the T-stat batteries need to be changed. The maintenance staff replaced it with old batteries on the same day. In the middle of the night the A/C stopped working again, took 3 days to get it fixed, and the main [... read more]tenance and resort supervisor had left our room door open with no one inside except the maintenance key left on the key holder to keep room lights on. Door to balcony did not close well. Cleaning services was below average, cleaning staff would ignore the used towel tho be changed and place them back on the clean towel rack. The food at GP in the a la carts and buffet are great. The service from the waiters/waitress was below average. drinks would take a long time to arrive at the table at the buffet. The self serve drink stations where shut down. In order to get great service at this hotel, be prepared to tip the staff with anything above $5 American dollars.

Amazing Resort

Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, excellent food - especially the a la cartes - Brazillian and Mexican was delicious! Awesome beach party and foam party at the Punta Cana pool. Fantastic bartenders, especially at Hemmingways.

Relaxing vacation

Facilities & Rooms - very clean - the cleaning staff will only leave ornamental towels if you tip them. Service - ok, but not over the top exceptional. The sports area offered the best service! All staff were helpful though if you needed something and asked for it. Drinks - mojitos were delicious, but otherwise they were overly sweet & not a lot of alcohol unless you asked for more. Beautiful resort

This resort has all the amenities you would want. It's a big resort that is divided into four sections with shuttle services through out the sites. There are activities and entertainment if you so desire to participate. My family of three had a great time and would definitely return to this piece of paradise.

Really Good Resort! Family Friendly

Exactly what we were looking for. Food was good, pool was great (little dirty at times), but the drinks were cold :) Family Friendly (Designated areas for kids and parents, or just to leave the kids there). Most important, the people were welcoming! Very nice people there and made me feel very welcome at the resort. Very good resort!!!

The grounds were beautifully kept, the flowers, trees and greenery were above average. The resort was incredibly clean. The food was very good with a large selection. The beach was beautiful; a bit more seawood than I would like but that is up to nature. They did a good job cleaning it up. The no reservations theme for the a la carte restaraunts is good in theory but had to line-up before opening to get a time slot, so in effect it does end up being a reservation. Beautiful resort!

We returned to the Grand Palladium for the 2nd time this year - last year we stayed at the Grand Palladium, this year at the Punta Cana, next year hopefully at the Bavaro which seems to be the nicest of the 3. We enjoyed restaurants at all 3 resorts and most enjoyed the steak house at the Punta Cana, and the Mexican at the Bavaro. We would prefer to be able to make reservations for dinner in advance; for the hotel to advertise "no reservation necessary" is misleading because at the steak house,  [... read more]for example, we had to line up to make a reservation at 5pm the day we wanted it. I would prefer to make all my dining reservations for the week in advance. One thing we did not appreciate this year was receiving a telephone call from our Sunwing representative at 8am telling us we had missed our briefing. We had no intention of attending the briefing, as we find this is a waste of our time given we are not interested in having excursions forced upon us, that we don't intend on taking. To be awakened by an early morning telephone call while on vacation was not appreciated. Also, we were given an "up sell" while enjoying a drink in the lobby from somebody in guest services trying to convince us to book directly with Grand Palladium next year. That said, with the exception of these 2 minor experiences, we had a wonderful time. The grounds are immaculate, beautiful beach, clean and comfortable rooms, good food. We would definitely go back for a 3rd visit and recommend this resort to others.

Great resort

All was nice beautiful grounds good service lovely rooms . The only downfall was getting reservations for dinner at nite .we have travelled alot and we like to book for the week upon arrival. We did go to 3 different ones and the food was great . T buffet was also very good and each resort had a nice one .LOts of variety THe entertainment was great and the staff got everyone involved. Nice resort but more palapas required for the beac

We really liked our stay, the front desk were very helpful, the room was nice and clean. It was very hard to find available shade from the sun on the beach,as there was not enough palapas available to shade the guests from the sun. The spa was nice, massages were excellent but expensive and some of the staff were not aware of the specials. I had to wait for 45 mins to get my massage although I was prepared and arrived early for my treatment

ALMOST PERFECT

This has been our 4th trip to Punta Cana and a different resort every time. We had the perfect spot for a room by the pool and all the buffets and restaurants as well as the beach. Could not ask for much better a resort maybe just a little to big for us but we got use to it as the week progressed. There was no fight for chairs and very spacious pool decks and beach was beautiful maybe a little to much sea weed but cant control that. I would go back to this resort and if I had a family pools are set up for them. People that worked there were more then happy to help even though I did here some rumblings from other people but we do tip and I think this could of made a little difference but we had good room as well as bar service with minimal tipping every day. Over all had a great trip and met some very nice people from different as well as my home country. If any one complains about the overall resort they are to fussy. The only thing that maybe we were a little disappointed in was the live theatre kind of the same thing every night but did not have to go if you did not want to. My wife and I were both very happy and cant wait to go again

Wonderful time!

Arrived early, around 1030 am. As expected, our room was not ready. We changed and headed for the beach. Hotel was large, but surprisingly easy to get around. Nice clean rooms, great a la cartes, and no problem getting in with no reservations required. And a wonderful beach. Overall, a great week. I would recommend this hotel.

Amazing Resort

This is an amazing resort in the Punta Cana area. We took our family of 5 and had two bedroom lockoff. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The Beach is where we spent most of our time. Beautiful white sand beach. Great for swimming, long walks and relaxing. Never had to worry about getting chairs at the beach or pool areas. The resort grounds are well maintained with long winding paths and beautifully maintained gardens. There are many restaurants on site and we visited most of them and al [... read more]ways seem to receive good service and food. They have a sports area with tennis, archery, badminton, ping pong, soccer and basketball. We used these facilities every morning and had a great time. Overall service was friendly and adequate. We would recommend this resort to all ages as the resort(s) is quite large with many things to do. We did not leave the resort as we felt it had everything to offer for our family.

Truly Paradise!

This hotel is very clean, great food with varieties beyond its competition. Staff is very friendly an desires your are completely satisfied with all aspects of your stay. Special to Roberto in the public relations department.

Huge Resort

We stayed at the Grand Palladium Resort from Jan 26-feb 2 We did enjoy our stay for the most part, the room was clean and the food was really good however the drinks seemed to be all the same coconutty flavour it got a bit boring after a while so i just drank mojitos and my husband and friends beer . The language barrier was verry apparent as we asked for our fridge to be repaired 3x finally they came the 3rd day so nothing was cold for 3 days oh well as well the maid did not understand when we  [... read more]asked for extra towels so would be nice if these people understood a little english ! The best person we dealt with was a customer service rep named Cely she was wonderful and spoke very good english ! We had friends staying at the Riu Bambu and she got us connected to talk to them almost every nite to arrange to get together with them she was wonderful and went over the top to help us ! We walked almost all the time which was good but sometimes we would have liked to get a tram but they were not all that plentiful again, not a big problem . In the buffet we always had to ask a few times for silverware and coffee again the language barrier was a problem. The beach was wonderful lots of seaweed as the ocean was rough ! they cleaned it everyday didn't get bothered too much to buy things on the beach. the pools were nice sometimes hard to find a seat but we managed. We would like to go back but stay in the nicer suites with the swim up rooms overall a very nice place ! We paid alot for this resort however it is the prime time would probably not go at this time again .

Amazing Resort

What can I say. All the GREAT Food and Drinks you can take... the only tip is that the Restaurants for supper, their reservation system is first come first serve. The Resort is very well kept. Beaches are magnificent. Would go back in a heart beat

Not the best vacation spot

I really do not like complaining but here goes!! Very nice and clean but pools need upgrading, beds were impossible to sleep on, food was disgusting and most of the alcoholic drinks were not appealing. On our last day we had a worker wanting to change the curtains walk right into the room while i was changing. Our door was shut so how he got in was beyond us. Love this resort!

this place gets better every time we go. doesn't matter the color of your bracelet everyone is a VIP. the food is excellent, no line ups, lots of chairs on the beach. grounds are beautiful. staff are friendly

Huge resort

Beautiful grounds, beach and ocean. Rooms a bit dated, beds comfortable, showers terrible but there was always hot water. Food good once you explore different buffets. A la carte advertised as no reservation needed which is true but you need to line up 2 hours prior to opening to get a table. Managed to get a table at Japanese with no wait time. Very slow service, it took about two hours for appetizers and main course that we could get at a buffet. Never experienced A/C or a fan at any enclosed  [... read more]restaurant or buffet. Animation at poolside or the beach is rather poor, Night entertainment ok.

Great Family Vacation Spot

The food was fantastic, definitely something for everyone at the main buffet. There are about 5 or 6 a la carte restaurants, would have been nice to be told that reservations weren't required. This is a nice feature, however, it created some long wait times to get in. The Casino was fun! You can use both American and DR peso's. Loved the live music in the lobby at night, great musicians. The staff was always willing to help, very quick to lend a hand in any way and we were always greeted with a  [... read more]smile. Our room was nice, very basic. We found there to be a bit of a bad smell in the washroom. And our toilet and tub was reacting loudly everytime one of our neighbors flushed or drained the tub. But it was cleaned everyday very nicely and the mini fridge and bar was totally restocked everyday without us having to ask. The shows at night are very children based. If you have kids, this place is wonderful. There's a castle for them to play in and lots to keep them busy in the day.
