Beautiful Location!

Our beachfront room was the closest I have been to a beach yet! As Trip Advisor has mentioned, the hotel is dated, but our room was clean and everything was functioning. The food was very good. I enjoyed fresh fish everyday with a different rice, and island veggies. The staff were very pleasant and attentive to our needs. The beach was awesome! W [... read more]e hear that is normal until after Easter then it calms back down. For the money, we feel this hotel was a good value.

Great resort

The hotel could use some sprucing up here and there. Like the light bulbs need replacing that have burnt out. The lawn needs watering. The floors in the hallways need cleaning. The staff is professional, helpful and friendly. It is a quiet and low keyed resort. Great place to relax and unwind.

As expected

We think this resort is over all 3.5 stars. But clean and easy going. Best for older crowd say over 45 years old. Mostly the previous reviews are correct. The employees are not pushy and do not care if you tip or not. Service is the same. If you talk to them they respond very pleasantly. If you don't talk you will get "good morning only" or "hello". The food choices limited but very good. We never went hungry.

Rex Grenadian

Slightly dated, but very clean. Very friendly people of Grenada. Best beach I have ever been to. Very quiet. Food was good, but more selections / choices would have been nice. Overall an 8 out of 10. Grenada is a wonderful island to visit.

Relaxing vacation

The Rex Grenadian is lovely property, very quiet and well maintained. Rooms are a bit tired but always clean, food is very simple but tasty. No animation team, but will be good for relaxing peaceful stay.

Pleasant Resort, Beside the Ocean

The Grenadian by Rex is a 3-4 star resort, 5 minutes from the airport in Grenada. Beautiful grounds with a variety of room locations. The beach is lovely.We had an ocean view room which required climbing a good deal of stairs but looking out on the ocean made it worthwhile. I would ask for an beach side room next time. The room was very clean, the bed was a king with a very hard mattress. The bathroom was partially renovated with the bath and shower needing work at this time. We were able to dri [... read more]nk water from the tap. Meals were taken in the Cinnamon Dinning room where there was a variety of food. There is also one a la carte-The Oriental that has mixed reviews from guests that we met. Lunch may be taken in the dinning room by the pool, located on a hilltop with a lovely view. The hotel buildings are a little tired overall. S taff are very friendly but service was slow at times. All in all, we enjoyed our time here. We took an island tour through Air Canada. Our guide and driver, Michael was great. It is a worthwhile way to see the island. We would go again! We met many guests who return here year after year.

Beautiful Beach

The grounds are beautiful and if you are looking for complete relaxation with nothing to do but sit on the beach then this is the place for you. Dinner needs to be improved on as the meal is always chicken fish and another meat pretty boring. A pasta station at dinner would be a nice addition. The rooms need to be fixed up as they are really dated.

ENCHANTING HOLIDAY IN GRENADA

Booked a beachfront room, 50 steps from the ocean. Dining room close by for an excellent buffet, every day. Great wine & coffee!!! Personnel always eager to make us feel at home. Great sandy beach...no need for water shoes. Take island tour to get the feel of island.

Beautiful beach front spot

The Hotel was older but clean and comfortable. All staff were pleasant and h=generally helpful although their response to my husband severely scraping his arm on a bush was too nonchalant (Raoul, our Island tour guide the following day, was very helpful and appropriately concerned that we go to a nearby health clinic). There were only limited choices for meals, buffet & 1 a la carte restaurant for supper, and only poolside for lunch. If you are looking for a quiet beach front holiday this is the spot for you but if you want action and night life look elsewhere. There were not a lot of activities and the gym really was not enticing. The in house entertainment featuring Grenadian dancing and drums was fantastic, the steel drum band was good, I could have done without the Karaoke and the DJ but other guests seemed to like it - there was no place else to go for a quiet drink on those evenings - so it was grin and bear it or carry out in a plastic cup and sit on a lounger down at the beach.

Very beautiful beach.

The staff was very freindly, and helpful. The hotel was clean. Enjoyed their home made soups very much. We had wonderful weather. Enjoyed our day trip of Granenda. Learning about the spices was fun. Seeing the rum factory was very interesting .

Amazing resort

That's resort look very nice, service was excelent, beach looking good, food not to bad, room was clean, people of the resort very freandly. We love night show. I will recommended this resort to others persons.

Rex Resorts- Rex Grenadian

The resort was on a beautiful ocean front piece of property that is well maintained. The rooms were kept very clean at all times. The meals were quite tasty as the local produce of the island is used.

Lovely setting

The hotel is situated on a nice piece of property. The beach is pretty with lots of shade. The rooms are basic but clean and adequate. My husband found the beds very uncomfortable....very hard. We had a beachfront ground floor room, ideal for beach access. The drinks were very tasty, but the food became boring and predictable. We enjoyed breakfast but lunch and dinner were nothing to look forward to. The a la carte was better in our opinion. This is a quiet hotel, so we relaxed and did a lot of  [... read more]reading.

Get what you pay for

The food was amazing, alcohol not so. Most staff friendly, bartenders acted like we were bothering them. I would say we are good tippers. We stopped tipping after the first day. We don't expect fast service. Just a little respect. We are hard working People. A lot of rooms were empty. The outside lights were turned off. It was dark area heading back to our room. Beautiful views

Okay

Pristine grounds, awesome view and landscape. Service inconsistent and sometimes slow. Not all drinks are included in the all inclusive. Limited food choices at the Buffet, but tasty. Staff pleasant and friendly.

Average 2.5 star resort in need of a major update

Don't Go, it's up for sale

A 10 star property with a 1 star operation. The whole Rex chain is for sale so absolutely no money is going into this property. Beyond the horrendously horrible food and very limited selection and availability times is the lack of liquid. The place is massive and there is only one bar open and thats at the pool - and you have to climb 50 steps to get up to it!!! If you're at the far end of the beach this is over a kilometre walk! Amazing Trip

The hotel was clean and well maintained. Our room was cleaned every day, fresh towels were provided daily. The beach area was fantastic, one improvement to advise is to get same sunbeds or at least fix the old ones:) Beach towels no complaints. Food was simple but very tasty and had different options everyday. One improvement to make is to have more fruits.

Beautiful place to relax

The Rex is a fantastic place to come and unwind from the everyday tolls of life. Beach is the highlight.Three meals per day with limited selection but no late evening food or snacks available . Local drinks available with all-inclusive but premium drinks are available for an extra charge. Staff very friendly. The bar staff 'will' not fill your personal thermal mug. The beach bar was closed, so the walk to the pool bar was a bit of a hike .Pool and furniture top notch around pool area, but beach  [... read more]chairs definitely need immediate replacing. Beach front rooms with the ocean sounds are incredible. Those with mobility issues, beware, other room categories require many stairs and the beach has a slope to the ocean.

Rex Grenadian

The Rex Grenadian was an average resort. The grounds and hotel are well-maintained, but overall the resort would benefit from a major renovation and various touch-ups. The food was tasty, even though there was a lack of variety. Service was average, sometimes it was difficult to get a server.
