Excellent Service and Wonderful People

The grounds were enormous and nicely landscaped.The buildings are old however kept clean.The service was amazing, everyone was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The food at the buffet was" just ok" however the Ala Carte Restaurants were very good. I will certainley go back again.

Really good hotel.

There is room for improvement the villas and motel are great need of an update, the main buffet dinning can be improved greatly, the grounds were very unkept but they were working on it when I was leaving. The games were very old and worn out, the gym was good. I recommend the al a cart restaurants. The smaller buffet I found were much nicer. Need for more games on the beach area. There were several barbecue pits but none were used in the nine days I was there. Beautiful resort 💛❤💚💙🧡💜

We stayed at the Club Amigo for the first week of February 2020 as a Couple We booked in a Villa to be closer to the beach and a King size bed. It is a huge and amazing resort that is perfectly located. The beach has many different places surrounded by beautiful coral. There are many bars located all over the resort and the staff is very friendly. Bed was very comfortable but the pillows are very thin so bring a spare pillow or ask the maid and she will provide extra pillows the following day. [... read more] Rooms are very clean and Ac works perfectly. Always hot water to shower even during spring break when the resort was completely full. We loved the 24 hour drinks and snack bar with délicious little hamburgers and grilled ham and cheeze sandwiches. The main buffet doesn't have a huge selection but it tastes pretty good compared to many resorts I've been to in Cuba. I didn't use the safe in the room but kept my passports locked in my suitcase and all was safe. I never go to the same resort twice but planning to come back to Club Amigo before the end of the year. Club Amigo---- Sunny shangrila!

For a quick one week away in the sun this venture was well worth it. The facilities including the numerous pools and restaurants were well maintained and the staff very curtious. The a la carte restaurants were of course a better bet for your dinners out but having been to Cuba before and in recognition of some limitations they face on access to supplies we were not disappointed. Great place to stay

Hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly. We have been here three times now and would go back. Food is very basic but we were never hungry. Beautiful beach and clear blue ocean for swimming. Lots of places to walk to and explore.

White sands and blue waters

Rinke and i had the pleasure of spending a month at this really beautiful resort. The gardens were kept in pristine condition as the gardeners did their best with the few tools they had. For the lack of gasoline, the lawn grass was about 2 feet long. The resort was always full, mostly Russians who were loud and had no respect to staff or other guests. Our room at the Villas were really nice and comfortable. Although we enjoyed the beach, it's a struggle getting a hotel beach chair as the locals take over the beach and all the chairs, no control. The locals who are not guests use the toilets, the snack bars, bars, as there's little control. Security is everywhere and does nothing. Whoever manages the resort lack discipline and management skills. The Ala carte resturant serve delicious meals, we were allowed 3 per week. Our visit at the dentist was another experience. For 50 CUC we were supposed to get our teeth cleaned. I spent 10 minutes in his chair while he took 2 phone calls and left the room twice. He spent 3 minutes on my mouth, my teeth was the same when i left as when i first went in. I asked, are you done? He said "yes" i asked when he planned to clean my teeth, he said i was done. To future guests, please save your money. Or, demand he clean your teeth. I'll never return to him again. Over all, we will never spend a month at this resort again. 2 weeks will be enough. Great for the price

We had a great vacation at club amigo Atlantico ,15th time there . It is an older resort which needs upgrading. The food is Cuban and plentiful not fancy .Staff can not do enough for you ,if you treat them right. Grounds and area are beautiful . Lots of things to do in the area .

Weather was great beach was great the people were great beer was cold rooms were dated food sucked but we didn’t starve pretty much as we expected but the beach and the people were worth it go on a buggy ride and see where the people really live they appreciate anything for the money you can’t beat this place just don’t expect too much

Returning guest again and again

Club Amigo is a large resort with an amazing beach and good people. The hotel is older resort, with constant improvements. Villas are decent but hotel rooms are hit and miss. Main hotel is very noisy and it is almost impossible to sleep in or take a afternoon nap, cleaning staff are super noisy in the hallways during the day. It is clean and the staff work hard to keep things running as smoothly as possible. Service can be quite slow at times and patience is required. Today you might have pasta and none tomorrow, one day ice-cream and none the next it all depends on what is transported that day. There is a great pizza place next door and very reasonable. Try Bennies Restaurant or the 24 hour bar (both located on the resort) for decent sit down breakfast as buffet can be congested at times. If you enjoy learning about culture and meeting Cubans this is a great resort. Lots of dancing next door at the boulevard and weekly parties there as well. Many returning guests that feel like Club Amigo is their second home. Club amigo is not a fancy resort, go with a open mind, take a horse and carriage ride, mingle and enjoy the beach and learn a little about the Cuban life. If you are a picky eater this is probably not the place for you. I recommend taking a cheap pillow as the pillows are quite thin. I love this resort despite some of the things I have mentioned, the beach is great, the boulevard parties are fun to attend and I always find something eat. Enjoy

Always a great vacation

Jan 13th we were off again to club amigo guardalavaca for 21 days. We always book through trip central with karol always finding the best deals. This was our 12th time at this resort we were not as pleased with the resort as other times the food was same lunch and dinner almost all 21 days there we were glad there was some restaurants off the resort with awesome food. We also had no hot water for the first 9 days of our stay this was a first for us we got hot water when moved to the bungalow  [... read more]section. The staff as always was top notch and very helpful. We will continue to visit this resort.

Wonderful relaxing vacation

First I would like to say that don't believe all of which you hear form negative people, We first arrived and heard this was bad and that was bad , but within hours of us being there all of our expected disappointments disappeared . The staff was so very friendly , food was nothing but fantastic ( I brought a few bottles of condiments but only needed ketchup for my omelets, my preference) .Kitchen staff and greeters made you feel like you were walking into their home and I can not say enough ab [... read more]out the bartenders at the pool bar , they kept us laughing all day. The resort was close enough to experience the Cuban culture both the people the near by villages and an abundance of very affordable restaurants in the area, just a close ride by horse and buggy. Go to Club Amigo , we are going back!!!!!!

Great value for the price

When we first arrived and pulled up to the hotel with the bus we thought oh no, what have gotten ourselves into. First impression was a little disappointing. The hotel is older and dated. However once you get past that, we found it to be a great place for a vacation. We found the food pretty good not excellent. Certainly did not starve!! Rooms and all washrooms were very clean. Beach is amazing. 3 pools, 2 with bars and music and one large Olympic sized pool that was quiet and amazing to do some laps or throw a ball. Would love to spend time with family and grandchildren there. Doesn't seem many people knew about it so you practically had the pool to yourself. Overall for the price I think it's a great place and the staff were very friendly.

A little run down but clean. Staff was great. would have been nice to have orientation on tipping. Guest from Russia were rude. Excellent beach. entertainment was ok. pools Ok. ////////////////////////////////////////////////

A lot for a little!

The resort features a beautiful beach, friendly staff and very down to earth place. It's a 3 star in Cuba so keep that in mind, but I really enjoyed myself. The newly renovated cafe was really good.

hotel is upgrading slowly all area clean lawns were not mowed food was good staff are amazing for a public (Cuban) beach very little soliciting all in all a great place to vacation carriage tours ,bus tours , and general activities make for a holiday that you will remember

Times Are A Changing!

I've been to Club Amigo many times over the years but this is the first time I've ever been disappointed-in the amenities, the food and even the staff seemed very tense. Not sure if it's the economic situation, the management or the new hotel next door-or maybe all of the above. TripCentral is the most helpful, attentive travel agency I've ever booked with and thank you for that. We'll be booking again soon !

Beautiful beaches

Our trip was fantastic. We did the Jeep and Dolphin excursion and was awesome. The Cubans are wonderful as always. Not sure if it was the timing of our vacation but not much was opened and that wasn't great. Met some wonderful new friends. Went to a Cubans house for New year's and it was a great experience. No bell boys on duty when we we leaving and that made it difficult to get our luggage from the Villa to the front lobby in complete darkness and I wasn't impressed with that. Good holiday!

Resort is old and dated. Needs a lot of updating with furniture and beds. Servers are excellent and friendly. Food was good but sometimes lacking! Ran out of beer at times! Ran out of bread at times. Ran out of toilet paper in public washrooms at times. Realized our trip was on a time that Cuba's had a holiday as well so we had lots of Cuba families in resort and they would order double the amount of food and then pack half of it away to bring back to their rooms! All you could dream of

The grounds are kept up implacably. This is one of my favorite resorts because they offer so much. For example the sprawling grounds give you the use of 3 resorts. I love having the ocean front access with the beautiful walk way to the property. Fortunately the room I requested was not available so at no charge my 9 year old niece and I were upgraded to a villa room. I later upgraded a little more to a villa ocean front which offered a spectacular view of the ocean. The room was clean, a [... read more]ir conditioned and had a balcony. My home away of home

this place is special for me for many years, it hurts me to see it is DECLINING... I call it a 1,5 STARZ Hotel - with 10 STARZ BEACH, & 6 STARZ People... all said... if I have to FIGHT to get a drink in the GLASS, instead of 'Plastico' - I don't like it... same goes for Cappuccino, that MUST be served in Porcelain instead of plastic :-( another BAD thing - NO EVENING PROGRAM every night, and NO ANNOUNCEMENT about it !? :-( on the POSITIVE side - the BEER ON TAP is back in the AQUA BAR,:-) a [... read more]nd in the Program area, and BRED is improving ! :-)
