Lovely hotel with impeccable grounds. The friendliest and most helpful staff you will ever meet.Gorgeous beach with lots of sunbeds.Rooms are spacious and well kept.Good variety of food .Book the a la cart restaurants as they are excellent.

Decent resort

the hotel was well maintained....there were times with no or little hot water but have had this happen in Canada. bed definitely not the most comfortable could feel all the springs, employees very friendly...not a huge assorted food daily but sufficient to find something to eat. beach was very nice and cleaned daily of sea weed and had few people selling on the beach

2nd trip there

hotel was awesome food was good service was good only issue was no fries for a few days and potatoes were also not there for a day or so but other wise was 5 star service all the way the shows were good also loved the black light show

Love this place

This was our 5th time to this amazing resort but our 1st time there during the anniversary celebration as we normally are leaving as it starts. Got to say won't go again during this time. It is way to busy and the a la cartes are closed as all staff are working at the anniversary. There is no choice of food at the gala you get what they serve and it was horrid. Next year will go back our normal week and enjoy the normal amenities.

Great time!

We had a great time after we got all straightened out with our room. Our first room, our toilet was broken, our socket in the bathroom popped out of the wall completely, I couldn't phone front desk because my phone was broken and after countless trips to the front desk and 3 days, we got a new room. A better room overlooking the Villa pool. I could always find something to eat, and the rum was not watered down which is something I have experienced in other resorts. Good vacation

The resort is old and didn't have amenities like a 5 star. But if you like sun and beach then it's great. The villa side is definitely the way to go. The people who work there are very nice. Bring your own ketchup, and jams . The beer, wine and coffee are great, way better than Jamaica or Mexico. I would definitely go back if the price is right. Just don't have high expectations. The late night grill bar was terrible and the 24 hr bar ran out of beer. Just go with the Cuban flow....

Wonderful people!

The resort is celebrating 25 years in business. That being said, the resort and rooms are kept clean and tidy. It's showing its age though. The lawns could use cutting more and the beaches cleaned up but it is Cuba. The staff were generally friendly and housekeeping staff I can't say enough good about them. Great time there.

Nice Resort

We were able to upgrade to a Vila at Brisas. We enjoyed a large suite with a ocean view. The weather was nice. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Everyone from the grounds keepers, servers, house keeping to the front desk were very pleasant. I spent almost everyday playing tennis with Alex, the Tennis pro. I am a Pickleball player so the bigger area and racket were a challenge. Good coaching Alex! We went with several family members. We enjoyed the entertainment and the a la carte  [... read more]restaurants. I would recommend a vacation at Brisas to anyone that likes to have a restful trouble free holiday. Many of the staff gave us farewell kisses on the way out of the hotel. We felt welcome and cherished.

10 day stay at the Brisas...great resort

We love this resort. Was our 2nd time visiting. Grounds are well kept and our maid was outstanding and took care of our daily needs. Minor food shortage but still plenty of food to eat. Will return.

Cool resorts

Horrible service i have ever seen in my whole life They treats guest like a shit so uneducated people omg Overall it was so disappointed to me I love to visit cuba next time soon but. Not here anymore

Good resource

It was ok not that bad I stay in the Vilas good Beach not bad but not so good also the food was the worst thing repeating everyday same thing same food very bad customer service, I did not go back again unless they change the management they Dont have drinking water in the rooms I was thirsty till morning we get to the hotel late the Stor was close I was struggling till morning

Average

This was the third time I was at this hotel and had a lot of trouble with the room the first room we got the bathroom ceiling was leaking the second room they gave us the smell was so bad of sewage you couldn't stand to stay in the room the third room they gave us the fridge wasn't working and the air wasn't working but decided to stay because were so tired of changing rooms . Resort is Outstanding!!

We just got back from a week vacation here, and all I can say is there is a reason why we will be returning again if I have it my way. Staff are so nice and accommodating in every way. The Food was amazing. The entertainment staff were excellent as well. Thank you Cesar for what you do to make it fun there. Sergio & Victor out in the Outside Bar/Restaurant are very personable and quick!!

Disappointed

Based on my good memories of the Brisas when I first visited 10 years ago, I returned this past June. Wow, what a disappointment. I had a nice vacation because I pushed past the irritations and enjoyed what I came for: the beach. But even that was reedy; there are beaches in Cuba far nicer, and resorts far better, than this. Something happened in these 10 years. The Brisas of my memory was a beautiful, peaceful, gracious international resort. This was a noisy, crowded local hotel - pe [... read more]rhaps because it is on the edge of town. Families came in groups of three or four up to a dozen or more, filling the pools with inflatable unicorns the size of tugboats; emptying entire trays of food in the buffet; packing the elevators to capacity; playing duelling boomboxes along the beach. Lineups were deceiving. That one person ahead of you in line for churros would walk away with six or eight plates-full. Otherwise: Food: Pretty ok. You shouldn't go hungry, but you can do better. Room: The initial room was right over the kitchen, which emitted a constant, high-pitched hum. Separated from the adjoining room by a thin door, there was no sound barrier, no privacy. It was at the end of a long hallway where the lights were out so that it was pitch dark at night. The TV offered just a few blurry channels. After complaining, was moved to a self-contained room (not adjoining) with full TV reception (why would service vary between rooms?) Service: OK; a bit grumpy. A/C: Working well enough, though you cannot control. Value: Things that used to be free are now sold. It costs $20 CAN for a room safe. Bottled water is sold, not stocked (except for an initial bottle.) Watch every business transaction carefully, particularly with hotel charges. They'll quote you a fee and then, when you count your change and find it short, they'll tell you the fee they quoted was an approximation; the actual fee was higher. This happened a few times. Be diligent when exchanging your $$ too. Upkeep: Wow, is this place dirty. Lounge chairs are covered in bird droppings - check before you sit down. Garbage is everywhere. The beach is littered with plastic cups, straws and beer cans - in the sand, floating in the water, even in the pools. This place has security guards posted every few yards throughout the property (which begs the question: is there a security problem, or would there be without them?) I can't help but think they might better allocate some of those resources to scrubbing the chairs. It pains me to have to write a negative review. But, since I first visited Cuba 10 years ago, I have been to resorts far superior to this. In Holguin alone there are some spectacular places in the same price range.

The good and the bad

We were satisfied with the room , but not with the food and with the buffet restaurant. The resort had more Cuban tourists than usual , and some of them made this place worse: they were not waiting in line, they were littering the place and the beach, they were very noisy

My second home

Brisas Was my second time there i am in love all over again. The people are amazing. The grounds are perfectly manicured. I sat on my balcony and watched the gardeners trimming the bushes. That was the first time seeing that and the tools they use. Nothing like here in Canada. I loved the beach omg was beautiful. Laid on the beach chair and listen to the ocean was so peaceful. There will always be people to complain about everything but i do say if your going with high expectations stay home.

Exceeded expectations!

This is our fourth time at the resort, and we thought it was about time we expressed our appreciation for the resort in a review, because this last time was the best of all. The lobby renovations were a major improvement, and most of all the abundance of fresh fruit and delicious food from the previous times. The staff were all impeccable, the grounds clean and the overall environment felt very amiable. Is a very good Resort

always we had a good time only this time we see something no good too many local people,that they don"t care for the tourist.are not clean they jump in the pool with there clothes .without taking a shower. Women through there Nupking in the ocean.Waiting a Big line to get in the Restaurant to eat,it was our 13'th Time in this Hotel,Thank you Archie&Emily?

Back for another year!

Return visit to Brisas. Loved every minute! Give wonderful special attention to returning guests. Lovely lunch and tree planting ceremony in our honour. Stayed in the Villa section again. Highly recommend. Nice and quiet. Seafood and Cuban restaurants were even better than last year. Go see Luis at the dive centre! 10 cuc to get the catamaran out to the reef for wonderful snorkeling. Saw barracuda and a school of squid just to name a couple. Very clear water.
