Beautiful resort

The resort was beautiful.The staff in the in the resort were out standing.The waiters were very professional. the drivers were very accommodating were there in minutes when you called when leaving they handled our luggage with care. We didn't GET THE ROOMS WE ASKED FOR THEY WERE CLOSED DOWN. a lot of walking very thankful for the cart drivers I would recommend this resort and will go back.

Amazing resort

This is our second time at this resort and we absolutely love it Sure there are food shortages but that's all over Cuba but you will always find something to eat and boy did we eat!!!! The staff are great specially Marite at the coffee bar always serving you coffee with a smile and the gang at the lobby bar always ready to make you a special drink Norbelis at the breakfast buffet ,Alexis at the Caribeno , Marieta at the Romantico restaurant where we had lobster twice at this superb place also [... read more] Miralis at the Ranchon restaurant on the beach where we had lunch everyday special mention to Carlos on the beach he always found a spot for us to sit and last but not least Diosbeidis our server at the beach always kept our drinks coming We would recommend this resort

Great Resort

This is our 3rd time back to Playa Pesquero. The hotel staff are outstanding and will go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. The beaches are some of the best in the world, that beautiful blue water and the white sand! The food was not bad, there was always something to eat, you would not go hungry for sure - fresh fish, mussels, pasta, chicken, pizza, etc. The entertainment was really good, and the animation team is always out there to get you to join in on the fun, from the  [... read more]beach to the pool, never a dull moment. Playa Pesquero has it ALL

The room we had was a standard sized vacation room, nicely decorated and furnished. The pools and beaches were well kept. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots to do at the beach, sailing, kayaking, paddle boats, snorkelling on the reef just off shore. If the beautiful beach is not your thing, there is lots of space around the pools. Activities are offered all day, both at the pools and beach. In the evening guests can make reservations at the luxurious restaurants for 3 nights during a 7  [... read more]day stay. Evening entertainment is also provided. Some bars provide 24 hour food and beverage service. Currently the restaurant menus are offered on a monitor that guests can photograph and choose from. I assume this is a covid19 protocol, or just to conserve paper. We had an amazing time at this resort. This was our 4th visit and I would go again in a minute! They score a 5 out of 5 in my opinion.

The Resort is beautiful, the room are pretty good. The pool(s) and beaches are great and beautiful. The food is good to great. I just had misquitos in the room which almost ate me alive though 😅. Staff is very very nice and I honestly loved them all! Some of the best people I have met ❤️❤️❤️ I would definitely go back, if they could gaurantee mosquito free rooms 😆. Thank you for an amazing Vacation people of Cuba and of Playa Pasquero ❤️

Good week

was down for another week this time with sibblings and wifes, were in the premium section , all was good still some shortages but did have problem with dinner 1 night in prem with very p-ooor and un ecceptable sevice, waited over 2 hours for dinner and never did get it, we were beyond hungery. rest was good and nice to see are cuban friends once again, remember there are shortages there beyond there control, and if your good with that you will love it"" trip cental were great as always and spe [... read more]cial thanks to Tammey Bemish for her outstanding service

Our 6th Visit to this resort

We have been coming to Playa Pesquero over the last 19 years. I believe the resort is now 20 years old, and it is getting a bit tired. There are some repairs that should be done, that would require them to close sections of the resort. The place is massive, so it would be possible to do renovations and repairs in sections, I think. Food - we are accustomed to the fact that sometimes there are shortages, and they do the best they can with what is available. When we were there in 2022, there were no potatoes, so they did a lot of rice and yucca. This time, they didn't have butter for a couple of days. So, if you are willing to roll with it and not be bothered by shortages, the food is fine. Service - I did notice longer waits than we have experienced in past trips. I don't know if it's because of staff shortages, or training of more staff. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but I noticed a difference. The staff is courteous and helpful as always, and it's so worthwhile to just strike up conversations with them. They are amazing people and very interested in hearing about Canada. I would definitely return again, but I will not recommend it to anyone that hasn't been to Cuba, as some people's expectations are not aligned with mine.

All good except for

We had a really good time at the resort, although at times certain items may be missing on the menus the staff more than compensated for this and all was good. However, there was one evening on the Premium side where we were seated for dinner and waited over 30 minutes for our order to be taken. Then another hour before our appetizers were served then again another hour and still had not received our entre. We were ignored.

Amazing resort.

I have always stayed at much smaller resorts in my 30+ trips to Cuba, but took a chance on the Playa Pesquero. It was beyond my expectations, the room was large, (2 adults and 1 child), spotlessly clean, the grounds meticulous, and the dining was amazing. During our 1 week stay we did not experience any shortages, plenty of fresh fruit, even apples. As always the Cuban people at the resort were friendly, and pleasant and very helpful. I would not hesitate to return to this resort.

This was an amazing resort!

We had a wonderful time at this 5Star Resort. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The accommodations were delightful and our time here was a true vacation. I would recommend this resort highly. This was our second trip here and we plan to come back next year.

Decent vacation

We’re at the resort for March break. We had a great time. The grounds were beautiful. The room was dated but clean. The ac worked properly and the shower water pressure was good. The food was hit and miss. They had shortages of everything. We had wine one night only. Few days we had butter in the morning and few days cheese. Their pineapple and papaya was very good. The best of all was the beach. We enjoyed the catamaran and the paddle boat. The sport center was a very nice feature. They [... read more] were in need of tennis rackets, volleyball, and ping pong balls. Just writing this for the future guests that enjoy these sports to bring their own equipment and possibly donate it. We gave away Tylenol, Advil, optical glasses, kids clothes and they appreciated that. Tips in cdn were appreciated. Overall was a good experience. Kids had a great time.

Relaxing!

Let me be clear, nothing "ruined" our vacation. It was great weather, beautiful beach and water and some of the friendliest and most humble people I've met in many travels throughout the Caribbean. That said, Cuba is in a very dire situation which affects the food & dining experience. Beer was plentiful but water was hard to come by on some days in the amount us northerners require when in the tropics. The area of the island we were in is also experiencing a major drought therefore if you  [... read more]are expecting lush green tropics, unfortunately it's just brown and minimal floral fauna. None of this of course is the fault of the resort or people. But it was enough to make me hesitate to return right away. I really can't say if I would recommend or not but if you do go, lower expectations and enjoy the beach and great coffee bar in the lobby!

Good vacation for the price

We've been to PP resort March 5-14 2023. Beautiful resort. We were in building 22 - very quite area. Clean rooms. Despite reviews saying that food supply is very limited, we found it not bad at all. All kind of vegetables, meet (pork and chicken only) was very tasty. Flambé and all sorts of coffee were fantastic. First 3 days there was no bananas, but than they were added to papaya, water melon and pineapples. There were no seafood except some razor clams and small fish for 3 days. No cocktails [... read more] variety, but gin and tonic was not bad. Several days there was no red/white vine at all, but sparkling vine was OK. No long lines in the buffet. Pretty funny menus in the a la carte restaurants. Lot of items were not available, so we end up with the same food served in the buffet. We have cancelled 2 out of 3 reservations after the first visit. Snorkeling was very different from what we had before in other resorts. You have to swim 300-400 m off shore to see corals and fish. But the water was so clean, you can see all details 8 meters down to the bottom. Massage was fantastic. As well as stretches, yoga and especially dancing classes with Liony! On the way back, in the bus air transat rep gave us wonderful introduction to Cuban life and described everything we passed. He even sang! Air Transat planes were comfortable, phone app was very helpful.

Very nice to be back to Cuba but...

Playa pesquero resort was great and met all expectations, because it's Cuba and you don't go there expecting luxury and great meals. That being said, the beach and coast line in Holguin is second to none. The water is so clear you'd think you're in aquatic heaven. The sad part is how Cubans seem to have lost their pride. They're having a real hard time now due to many obvious reasons and it's heartbreaking to see and hear how difficult it is for them. Good trip Premium Service!

The hotel is very clean, and the staff are very nice. They make you feel welcome, and are always friendly. Food was very good for Cuba, but there are shortages that people have to understand. It is Cuba and they are doing their best. Fruits are a problem, and there is really not much seafood for be found. The rest of the food chain was great, no real shortage of anything else. But when they get seafood, there was no orange juice at all the whole trip. they make the best out of it. Bar drinks you [... read more] will see a shortage at times. When we were there for a week. There was no white wine for the last 4 days, which is hard when that’s all you drink. But you have to make do, they are trying hard to fulfill their guests needs. Bailey’s was another thing that didn’t really have, only 1 evening. In the Premium Service section, the butler service is not as good as it was before Covid. They made you feel very important and really looked after you. This trip I did not feel that way at all. Hopefully this will improve and get back to the great standard it once was.

This resort is tired and dated

Just came back from a week at Playa Pesquero. The sun was hot, the drinks (when you could get what you wanted) were cold, the hotel staff were amazing! The food was horrible - extreme food shortages within the resort. Diet consisted of chicken, pork and rice. This was my first time visiting this resort. It's tired and dated. There is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done. That being said, it was very clean which is always my top priority when travelling.

Amazing resort

We enjoyed staying at Playa Pesquerro. It’s been our 5th or 6th time. The personnel is really nice. Everybody is friendly, food is plain but healthy, service at the restaurants is great! Yoga classes were wonderful . Bar on the beach is full of refreshing drinks and smiles ! Overall amazing atmosphere at the resort . Thank you so much !

Playa Pesquero

This was my second time at this resort and it was just as inviting as I remembered it from traveling there before COVID. The grounds were kept beautifully, the pool was very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We found the food was tasty, but there was not a lot of variety, that would be my only complaint. My parents room, also, unfortunately did not have hot water all week or a working telephone to communicate to the front desk. Playa Pesquero is an amazing resort to stay

The grounds are beautiful, visitors are treated with respect. However, our room could use some update in the area of the bathroom and sleeping space. I would have say good food, but, I did not enjoy the food. My husband and I would return but for the food and accomadation.

Sunwing

We enjoyed the Playa Pesquara Resort. 2nd time being there. We were treated to a fantastic VIP dinner with Lobster,so good. We could always find something to eat, Pork or Chicken, Was looking forward to our favorate cocktails, but didnt have Margaitas, Pina Colada, Dacquaries. Only got Pina Colada the last day. It is a spacious resort, they only had a few trollies running so a lot of walking. Last time (2016)they were always accesable to pick you up where you wanted to go. Hardly ever saw them  [... read more]around resort. The main thing wanted to let you know is SUNWING.... we were delayed 2 hours flying out as they had to get a volunteer crew to take us. I wouldnt go with Sunwing. It took so much extra time to bus us to Sunwing terminal and wait again. Same coming home. Had to wait for a ground crew to unload us, then bus back to airport terminal, then it took us 2 HOURS to get our luggage to us. It was 12 hours getting there both ways for a 3 .5 hour flight.
