Nice and quiet

Great job fixing up after the hurricane,rooms renovated with new beds and furniture.Beach and people are wonderful,food is ok.The new building by the beach is going to be very nive.Overall a good trip

Absolutely love Cayo Coco!!!

We had a wonderful time at Hotel Playa Coco. The staff were wonderful and the service was great. We enjoyed our a la cartes but we did find the buffet didn't have a lot of variety but what they did have was fresh and delicious. The rooms are spacious and the maid service was wonderful. You can tell when you look around it's not a brand new hotel and a few fixtures here and there could use a little bit of fine-tuning but overall we had a great time and we're pleased with our choice. And last but definitely not least beautiful white sand beaches that you just couldn't get enough of.

Great resort

I was back for my 5th time, found many changes from the hurricane. They are still in a clean up and building mode, what has been completed is lovely, my daughter and I had a wonderful time the food was good with a variety to please all. Rooms were good but could use some more drawers for clothing. Staff wonderful always willing to help. Beach lovely. Once all repairs and buildings complete this will be a resort for all to visit.

Try somewhere else

Ground floor rooms are musty. Moved to upper floor but A.C. did not work all week despite reporting it 4 times. Service at bars and snack bar was terrible. Buffet service was terrible except for Junior who was great. Tried to play basketball but they didn't have a ball. Tried to play tennis but the courts were cordoned off and there was a light post lying across one court. Played mini putt but paint was peeling off surface and sticking up. It was so windy for 2 days that catamaran couldn't go ou [... read more]t. Went out on day 5. It was 10 minutes straight out and 10 minutes back Boring. Food was good at buffet but very little fruit and veggies. 24 hour Snack bar ran out of food everyday . Septic smell was bad. The veal at the Italian restaurant was so tough it could be used as the sole of a shoe. Service was bad there too. We tipped everyone but service didn't get any better. People were not friendly. They were too busy talking to the other staff to serve you. There were only 3 blenders at the 5 bars. The beach was nice and the water was pretty. We didn't leave resort til 10pm. They wanted u out of room at noon. You could keep the room for $14 an hour! Won't be back.

Would not go back!

You arrive at the resort and the lobby is all brand new (rebuilt after the hurricane). I like that this is a small resort but our room was a disaster and the staff don't care about anything. Every time the person above us had a shower water came gushing down into our bathtub. We complained for three days and asked numerous times to be switched to a different room and each time we were just told they would send a technician. The issue didn't get fixed the whole week! Some days you have hot water  [... read more]and some days you don't. We were lucky to be in a room which the AC worked because after talking with other guests a lot of rooms had no working AC. The staff don't care about anything. There was one night we slept with crickets chirping in our room all night long. After that, everyday before we went to bed we moved all the furniture to find them and killed at least six each day and they were massive. The towels that they leave you are dirty. The public bathrooms have no toilet paper in them and no locks on the door. There was even one day a lady was in the bathroom cleaning and three of us happened to walk in at the same time and we asked her for toilet paper. She told us one minute and just continued cleaning the countertop. She never did go and get us any toilet paper. The buffet has the same food all the time. Whatever is leftover from supper that is breakfast the next day. None of the food has any flavor. There were never any plates at the buffet. The Japanese and Italian a la carte were really good. The beach is beautiful but they are rebuilding a building from the hurricane so you sit there and listen to construction all day long. The nightly entertainers are good but it gets to be boring after a few nights as it is all pretty much the same thing just different music. Will never go back to this resort or recommend to anyone.

We love this place!!!!!

This was our 6th time to this resort and we love it!!! It is a smaller resort and that is what we like about it. We never go hungry, there is always something to eat. All the rooms have been redone, the beds were great to sleep on. The bars are great, never far away from you. :) The beach is beautiful. But the staff is the best reason to come to this resort. They remember your name and what drink you like, they talk to you like you are friends. That's because you become there friends. T [... read more]he management are great, if you need help. Just remember this is Cuba and to treat people the way you want to be treated and you will have a great time.

Amazing resort

Our recent stay was nothing short of amazing, the staff were wonderful and the beach was beautiful. We look forward to our vacation next year. The only down fall was there was no staff around the pool to come take your drink order you had to go to the bar

Good time!

We had a great relaxing time. Staff were kind and obliging. We hung around the main pool mostly. Good entertainment. Good drinks! Trouble with our air conditioning...entire time. We’d go again! Hoping to go again in October. The Japanese restaurant was awesome!

Nice Resort I would recommend this Resort

Honestly I have to say it started out with a few bumps however it turned out to quite a nice resort. These people have been through a lot and are working towards making this Resort better. The staff are wonderful and I am sure by this time next year it could be close to a five star resort . It would be nice to see some changes in their food menu but as we all know you don't go to Cuba to eat. My niece and I had a wonderful time. Bring your own pillow, I did. SO SO

Buffet restaurant has limited amount of food often cold. Fruit and vegetables were very limited. Air condition was not working. It was making so much noise hard to sleep. Complain four days in row about air condition nothing happen. People in the bars and restaurants were courteous.

Incredible beach.

I had heard from many that you don't go to Cuba for the food and they were correct. This stated I will say that the breakfasts were always amazing and the Japanese and Italian restaurants were ok. Lunch at the beach bar is a must with some great barbecued chicken and ribs. The room was very nice however hot water was not always available. Simple and Lovely!

The hotel exceeded my expectations! I have been to Cuba 4 other times and this hotel was the cleanest, the rooms the most modern and the beach the nicest. Staff are friendly and helpful, food is typical Cuba-- this hotel is wonderful.size-- big enough to have a couple a la carte's and multiple pools, but small enough that it feels homey. Would highly recommends!

Fantastic resort

This resort was beautiful, clean, hospitable. The food was excellent. The staff friendly. I was there in a party of 10, everyone of us would be glad to come back. The food at theAl a carte restaurants was delicious, loved the lobster!

January Getaway

We went to this hotel January 25. No air conditioning for three days. Then no hot water. At this point we spoke to our Air Canada rep who was amazing and sent us that day to another hotel on Cayo Coco. Thank God for Air Canada Reps Manuel and Jose both excellent at what they do! Still construction going on at the beach eye sore for sure. Newly painted and decorated rooms are okay if you get one where everything works! Second time here

We were second time here. I loved this place first time, I loved the beach,it is amazing the access to the ocean. Pleasant place. This time unfortunately was not so good. We had bad weather. We got cold. We got sick. A bad urinary- kidney problem. Both of us. Hopefully for all other travelers, only from sitting on the cold beach to much. But I am not so sure. Rain water or waist water? Close to the beach garbage sitting there for days, nobody bothers to clean. The air conditioning in our room was unusable. It was a very very bad mold smell when it was running, even if only the neighbor room was running it. UNBEARABLE. Luckily we didn't need it because of the cold weather. Also this time I noticed a few time that food was reused for more times, they changed color and the taste also was not so pleasant. But this is an impression only, if they are practicing this method of saving food, it is not certain for me.

Awesome place

The hotel is very spacious the staff is super friendly. WiFi reaches almost everywhere but the rooms and the beach. There are many repeat visitors to this resort. The buffet is a little sub par, but the a la carts are excellent, especially the Japanese. Plan on going back in the coming years

Nice 🌴 beach

Our experience at playa coco was quiet chaotic We had to change room 3 times during our stay.1room had no air conditioning and the patio door did'nt open and the must we had frogs. room 2 ,door did'nt close and toilet problems that go to the bathtub and when we call to complain about ,the maintenance take time to come! finely the last room was good. The hotel was touched by the last hurricane and they rebuilt without putting quality. The food was ok and the beach was amazing

Very poor Country!!!

Not what the pictures look like on the internet!!! Our stay at this hotel was okay I guess but not what we have ever experienced before. We had to wait 1 hour in a line of very impatient customers that were pushing and butting in line to register for our room as they had a party of 41 people a head of us and all the girls were waiting on them (3 girls) but what took so long was them waiting on their computer. Once we did make it to our room which was the farthest building away from everything [... read more] we didn't have an toilet paper, a shower curtain, a garbage can and our safe didn't work. Our kids stayed in a different room and they had the same problem but they also couldn't get back into there room overtime they left, I don't know how many times they walked to the front desk to get a different key so they could get back into there room. Out front of our building where we slept there was always a smell of sewage and they had the sewage tank cover opened the whole time we were there. We told them but they never did anything about it. As for the food it was okay - our best meal was when we booked at the Japanese Restaurant! We lived off of hot dogs at the snack bar, chicken, pasta, rice and bread. There wasn't much of a night life here. The beach was beautiful! There basketball & tennis courts were under water and not fixed up after the hurricane! I feel this resort was not worth the money I paid for my whole family to go too! Was very disappointed and will never go back to Cuba!!!

Good time!

Beach was beautiful, lots of beach chairs available. Staff were friendly and room was spacious and clean. Food was just ok. Some little unfinished things such as patio doors not locking still need to be fixed up.
