Overall very good resort showing it's age as a 4+ star.
The property is meticulously clean and well maintained and the staff work hard to ensure you have a pleasant time. Beach is cleaned of sargassum seaweed every morning and raked. The food is very good in taste and selection. A-la-carte restaurants offer simple menus with upgrade $$ options if you want to indulge. You have to line up before 9am to book the Steakhouse or the Japanese restaurants, and both are excellent. The others work on first come basis and you can usually get seated between 6-7[... read more]pm. While the bars are plentiful unless you upgrade to Privilege class the top shelf liquors are not available and after dinner only the Lobby Bar and Piano Bars are open. The Beach Restaurant is only available to Privilege guests for breakfast, but open to all for lunch. Not all the restaurants are open every night! Rooms are clean and have comfortable beds, laminate floors and no carpets. Never a problem with hot water, a/c, fan or mold on our third-floor suite. They even provide a simple and complimentary shaving and dental kit along with mouthwash in the bathroom. Easy property to walk and there is a trolley that runs every 10 minutes.
The resort is a business so will try to sell you membership over an hour presentation, but you can politely decline. Although the beach is nice, it's NOT what's in the promotional photos. More than half of it has washed away and there are huge sandbags installed to control erosion. Vendors are allowed on the beach and sell everything from jewelry (beads), excursions, cigars, photos with parrots and iguanas and so on. A polite wave-off and they move on. Lounge chairs are plentiful at beach and pools but get up early to grab your favourite spot.
The Blue Team rallies guests to get involved in beach and pool games along with nightly dancing. They host a Beach Party mid-week. Yes there are sand-flies so bring some bug spray. The nightly entertainment was somewhat lacking and repetitious. A few karaoke singers and local theater dance productions on the weekends.
Top marks for food quality and selection, cleanliness of grounds and rooms, maintenance of pool and beach areas. They should consider more or better evening entertainment.
One disappointment is the name brand liquor. All-inclusive should mean all-inclusive. Ordered a martini at the lobby bar and when I asked for name brand Vodka or Gin I was told it was for Privilege guests only so they used local stuff.
Overall we found it good value for the money and would consider returning.

Very un Atmosphere
This trip was nothing short of a phenomenal experience. The ambiance of the resort was absolutely stunning, fun energy and created the perfect backdrop for a relaxing morning at the beach, dancing and games at the pool with Blue Team in the afternoon and evening food, entertainment and dancing. All to make it a very enjoyable vacation. Our room was spotless every day and the food was exceptional at the buffets. We tried the Route 66 and Italian restaurant and I highly recommend these two a la ca[... read more]rtes.
The exceptional service provided by the staff truly set this resort apart. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and memorable and went above and beyond by teaching me Spanish and making me comfortable letting loose on the dance floor. The bartenders, in particular, were outstanding in their craft, and one individual, Julio Pio, stood out in making my groups experience truly unforgettable.
Julio not only demonstrated exceptional bartending skills but also added an extra layer of entertainment to the experience. His enthusiastic chants and lively dances while crafting drinks brought a unique and joyful atmosphere to the bar. I wished he was at the pool cause his enthusiasm really amps me up. It's these personal touches that make a stay truly special and memorable. I was so impressed. We enjoyed his service so much that when we found out he was serving in Route 66 we decided that’s were we need to eat cause we knew he will make the experience better.
Ramon and Leandrc Villalona we met at the buffet and they really stood out and impressed me by remembering me and teaching me in Spanish how to say “Whats up”. Then every time they saw me we chanted together and I felt like I was a part of their family. They truly made the experience fun and hope they get noticed for their outstanding work!
I can confidently say that the dedication and passion of the Ocean Blue and Sand Punta Cana staff, exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a perfect blend of beautiful ambiance, exceptional service, great food, affordable price and an unforgettable vacation experience. It truly deserves a solid 5-star rating.

Nice Resort
I was bit by bugs because of the standing water everywhere. When we sat just outside the lobby we got bit. We brought bug spray but that really didn't help us. I really didn't matter where we were, we were bit

Very relaxing vacation. Superb
Liked;
Mikes Coffee …wonderful decor and attention to detail by its staffing and quality of coffees and pastries superb.
Ice cream hut and popcorn machine during evenings
Route 99(brisket and chicken wings and salad), Italian, Mexican and Hibachi Sensai restaurants wonderful. Did not try French. international night at buffet.. very nice cheeses and great choices at buffet made it a great dinner.
Pools very clean lunch down at beach very extensive.
Rooms very clean and appealing
Pinky t[... read more]he flamingo and other animals on property, ie turtles, fish, water fowl were wonderful to watch and interact with.
Dislikes;
No fried fresh garlic shrimp ( didn’t see much shrimp period) but prefer. Fried in fry,ing pan with fresh garlic. Ummmmm
Only Pepsi no coke.
Piano bar enclosure too close to main lobby entertainment bar. They should consider swapping the priveledge club room and piano bar with the reception to alleviate this issue.
Need to have more consistency throughout resort when it comes to knowing how much alcohol to mix in drinks. Many tenders lack even basic skills…. Example. Black Russian is not half and half. Spanish coffee is not americano. LOL
Lots more to say but above will probably keep me coming back.

It was" just" okay
The good: The rooms were clean was the resort. The pool was huge and beautiful. The entertainment was good. The food was very good and there was a large selection of foods to choose from the buffet.
The bad: The room coffee maker just worked, spewing brew everywhere. No coffee provided for the mornings. The alcoholic drinks are watered down and anything slushy tasted like cardboard.
The vendors on the beach and in the resort itself were agressive. No matter where one walked, someone was att[... read more]empting to take up your time to sell you an excursion or alike.
The staff was generally unfriendly, regardless if a tip was left or not.

Wonderful Time at a Wonderful Resort
My travel partner had been here before, recommended it, and consented to return. It was just as she said, beautiful, unique, great food, lovely clean beach, friendly staff, totally satisfying accommodations and well secured. I saw lawn/garden maintenance at its best, paint being updated and bathroom accessories being upgraded. Our maid was consistently taking care of our room, separate staff keeping our fridge stocked and bar/buffet/restaurant staff and servers were quick and efficient an[... read more]d so friendly and appeared to love their role of making everyone happy. Entertainment was very good.
Of most importance this week I experienced first hand asking for assistance for medical reasons and the response was amazing, efficient and extremely prompt. Five staff in 3 minutes. Their kindness and concern was so appreciated.

Fantastic resort
This resort is incredibly spacious! We required golf carts to travel between our room and the lobby. It boasts seven restaurants, with 2 out of 7 requiring advance reservations. There are two expansive pools, each featuring a swim-up bar. However, the beach had a significant amount of seaweed both on the sand and in the water, which detracted from its appeal for swimming. A snack bar is open every day from 4 pm to 6 pm. Additionally, they offer a teen lounge that is open to adults as well. This [... read more]lounge includes amenities like a bowling alley, pool tables, table tennis, a bar, and a teen club. The resort also features a nightclub, piano lounge, spa, gym, mini shopping store, and a medical facility. Our hotel room was excellent and kept comfortably cool. The housekeeping staff was exceptional. They promptly arranged a crib for me and quickly provided fresh towels. One minor drawback regarding the rooms is the potential for more regular sweeping, as it didn't seem to occur daily. Overall, this resort was outstanding and lived up to expectations.

Fantastic Week
Check-in & Rooms: We arrived late evening and had no wait at reception. Staff were very friendly. We did not get our requested rooms right away (2 rooms in the same building), but were moved after the 2nd night. Rooms were spacious and clean.
Outdoor Areas: The grounds are very well maintained and pools are clean. There were shaded chairs available if at the pool by 9am. The beach chair area looked quite crowded and close together, but because of the abundance of seaweed we didn't spend much[... read more] time on the beach. You can walk many km in either way on the beach, very safe, and very few vendors.
Loved that all of the restaurants, shops and evening activities are all together at the front of the resort. It felt like you were walking around a little village every evening.
Staff & Entertainment: All of the staff were fantastic! So friendly, and service was great. Never had to wait long at any of the bars or for drinks at the buffets. There were afternoon games at one of the pools every day, activities around the lobby in the early evening and a show every night at 9:30, but this isn't pushed on you if you just want to relax. Disco was great for the older teens.
Restaurants: EL CAREY & LA TORTUGA main buffet was fine, food was a bit cold. Lots of variety for breakfast and dinner. VILLA MARINA was a nice buffet option for lunch, nice to be able to eat outside. SENSAI RESTAURANT was fun, food was good and portions were large. Booking on the App was quick and easy. MARGARITA restaurant was good, no reservations needed. Food was not great at IL MASCHERATI DI VENEZIA, but no reservation needed. STEAK HOUSE was surprisingly good (none of us had steak!), but it's the one restaurant you have to line up to reserve. Bring a coffee and your patience and line up at 8:30am. We did not try BLUE MOON RESTAURANT, the one restaurant that requires long pants for men, and did not try ROUTE 66. MIKE'S COFFEE was fantastic both in the morning and at night! Our teenage boys loved OVER TIME SPORTS BAR for late night drinks and food.

Privilege Upgrade: We did NOT upgrade to Privilege, and really didn't notice a difference. For the first 2 nights we were in a regular room (building 4) then were moved to a Privilege room (building 10). We preferred the regular room, the view was nicer, and unless you plan to use the jacuzzi tub, the bathroom is more spacious and practical in the regular room. We were able to eat at all of the restaurants and didn't notice a difference in the designated Privilege seating areas.

So so resort!
The Resort not too far from the airport, rooms are ample and neat, resort buildings are not too old. However, the hot tub was not working and we asked for repair no body responded. Food was not too bad, desserts could be much better. Dine in restaurants were good in terms of booking. Drinks were not the best. Beach is okay, not too wide, but no seaweed . Pools are well maintained.
Resort was not crowded so for us was very convenient.

I am recommending this resort to everyone!
My best friend and I stayed here for a week to celebrate our 30th bdays. The food was insanely delicious, there was seriously no need to explore the restaurants (although out of them all, the Italian one was our fav.) The people were beyond helpful and friendly. The resort grounds were stunning! Clean, modern, trendy aesthetics, and just fabulous. The beach was everything!! White sand, turquoise water. Lots of beach chairs and shaded areas to sit and tan. I am seriously recommending this resort [... read more]to anyone interested in going to Punta Cana. Javier at the lobby bar was incredible! He was our absolute favourite person there that made our week so fun!! Biggest smile, talented at making drinks and different kinds of shots and just such a friendly gentleman. Go say hi to him!! Special shout out to Manuel at the swim-up pool bar too, he made the best cocktails! We'd often fill up our cups there before heading to the beach because the beach bar just wasn't as great as he was. We had a blast and will definitely be coming back.

Mediocre experience
I wanted to love this resort (arrived mid May 2023), but there are things that just made it a bit frustrating and I will not go back. I have also been to a couple of other resorts in the DR (4 and 5 star) and would go back to those. This is the first time I am writing a review on a resort because there are things people need to know about my experience.
Let me start out with the Pros of this resort:
Beach front is beautiful with a great bar! Lots of shade.
Loved the lobby bar and the staff[... read more] who worked there. They were super friendly!
I want to give a shout out to Bolivar who checked in my friend and I. He was SO great, friendly and deserves a raise.
The two pools in the middle of the resort are huge and had great swim up bars.
Cons of the resort:
All of the restaurants and reception/guest services are at one side of the resort except for the beach restaurant which is open for lunch and a light snack (breakfast at this restaurant is only for "Privilege" guests). This means, if you are at the opposite end of the resort (which I was), you have to walk to eat...and it's a long walk. I have high arches in my feet and if I knew how much I had to walk, I would have specifically brought a pair of sandals that would provide more support to the feet. My feet hurt after a few days and for the rest of the trip. I like walking, so if I had the proper support, I wouldn't have minded it. Therefore, if you are prone to issues with your feet, bring a good pair of shoes!
The restaurants that we went to were ok. Nothing stood out, however we didn't get to the Japanese place (which you need reservations for) but heard that was phenomenal.
The resorts I have been to, there is always a restaurant or two where you can grab breakfast or lunch that is super casual. Most people go in their swim suit and either put on a shirt with their swim trunks or have a beach cover up. We were told that the beach cover ups we were wearing (I was wearing one where the sleeves came down to my elbows and length was to my knees - slightly see through but I was wearing a one piece swim suit) it was not appropriate and they would let us in this one time. Going forward, I would have to wear some sort of dress or shorts and tank top to be allowed in. I have never had this when going to other resorts. I understand that restaurants you go to dinner, you shouldn't wear a beach cover up with a bathing suit. It was just really irritating because all I had packed were beach cover ups, bathing suits and nice dresses to wear for dinner.
What I also found interesting is there was no place to grab food or a snack after 7:30pm. You have to wait until the OverTime Sports bar that starts serving snacks at 11 or 11:30pm (can't quite remember).
One of the most frustrating experiences was having to chase staff to get our fridge restocked. The second day, no one restocked our water, alcohol, etc. On the third day, we had to walk over to Reception to inquire and the person said that it's supposed to be restocked everyday and he would have someone do it right away. Thankfully, someone came.
However, the next day, no one came again. Between 2:30pm and 11pm, I called Reception/Guest Services 7 times to ask if they can restock our fridge, especially the water. I also walked down to reception at 9:30pm that night because we kept being told someone was coming but no one did. My friend and I finally gave up and had to go the next day to Guest Services and lodge a complaint. We were told that they would make sure someone would come right at 9am. When we got back from breakfast around 9:15am, no one came. We went to the beach and came back around noon - no one was there. I called at noon and then again at 4pm to say someone still hasn't come. Finally, someone came. For the rest of the days we were there, are fridge was restocked except they didn't restock the small vokda, bacardi and rum bottles. I gave up and didn't bother asking about those as it was just taking too much of my time to chase the staff.
Overall, my experience was mediocre at this place :(

Beautiful place.
Very well kept and clean. Quick check in. Very efficient service. Lots of entertainment. Disappointing access to pool umbrellas, people got up early to take all the umbrellas, and then didn’t show up all day to use them.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks in February and loved it so much we stayed again in April for another 2 weeks! The grounds are well maintained, the staff is wonderful and the food is really good! A special shout-out to Jesus at the Italian Restaurant, Junior and Melvin at the breakfast buffet and Dairy E, the sweetest girl ever! Also Johan at the outside pool bar made amazing drinks! We were well taken care off and we definitely go back again.

Hotel is clean generally. I was bitten on my legs extensively, so as my brother and we were in different buildings. I saw and killed bed bugs. Management took 2 days to do pest control.
Activities were ok, accommodation is ok. People are very friendly. Food variety and availability was good
The entertainment in the evening, gets only a passing grade.
Bus shuttle to and from the hotel to the airport was good.
