Nous avons eu beaucoup de chance en faisant cette reservation c etait agreable ,,confortable, et avec la collaboration de mademoiselle Didelia ,au service de reservation de resto , nous avons souper 7 soirs sur 8 a la carte ,En vacances nous aimons nous faire servir, car le buffet c est secondaire. La Plage super tres belle , mais les chaises sont rares , je soupsonne que certains touriste en reserve plus q une, la chasse a la chaise est de tout les jours ,les touriste sont des escargos qui [... read more] se deplace d un espace a l autre avec leurs chaises ! En general (5 etoiles partout ) et pour le service a la clientele rapide,efficace et souriant (5 etoiles ) nous magasinons notre retour pour 2025 This place has it all , reasonably modern rooms , great room service , especially when you tip the cleaning lady. The beach is very nice , not Cuba beach , but OK , some rocks, watchout. Food OK , if you are young and not fussy. For those that need Wifi , you are in luck, works great in the room. So ,everything considered , and after visiting over 30 resorts in the caribbean , and because it offers all the amenities we require , I admit we will obviously return. its like going to wal-mart , not always the cheapest , nor the best , but it supplies all the necessities , so why look elsewhere , as we have found that elsewhere there are disappointments galore.

Bring your sketchers

Resort is very large. Lots of walking so definitely not for people with mobility issues. Food was ok. Some ala cartes better than others. Grounds are immaculate. Staff super friendly and accommodating. Resort has tons of activities especially for kids and teens. Key cards are a pain. Often did not work. Bracelets would be a huge improvement. Would I stay here again? Only if the price was right.

Beautiful Resort

We got upgraded accommodations that we didn't know until we got there and we had access to all 3 resorts. It was quite the nice upgrade. Everything was perfect. Lots to do and the food A La Carte were excellent!

Upgraded to Paradise

We were upgraded on arrival due to an issue with rooms. Paradise was beautiful and the atmosphere was fun! We were so thankful and happy to be upgraded because it was overall nicer at the Paradise hotel

WE HAD THE BEST TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

The chain of Barcelo hotels in a row is just about the biggest resort I have seen. The beach was beautiful to walk on. The food was wonderfully prepared, the Grill Bars by the Beach with the breeze from the ocean were perfect! The cenotes right across the street was a big surprise, beautiful!

Good First Impression

Grounds were outstanding, pools great, beach and palm trees was the place to be. Food awesome. We did switch rooms once due to bad sewer smell on tropical beach front side we realized this was the way that side of the hotel smelled on the ocean view. New room was good.

Great Resort

We picked this resort mainly because of the kids activities. Unfortunately my daughter was only 3 while we were there and the kids club is 4+. The resort is huge and something we found out while there is that is actually a chain of resorts side by side and you are able to use 3 out of the 5. They have their own tourist bus system allowing you to hop in and off within hotels. Some A la carte restaurants are located in the other hotels. There is a market, a casino, a shopping mall as well. You can [... read more] walk or take the bus. Very convenient. The dolphin show between the hotels as well as the spa. They do advertise the surfing experience but you have to pay to access that part of the resort. It also have a big ship with 4 slides which my daughter loved. It is $20 US per person per day or $60 US per person for the week. Food was delicious. Every day. The only thing I would say is that I wanted to experience more of their food. For breakfast I wanted Huevos rancheros every morning but they wouldn't provide the tortillas which was really dissapointing. I would suggest they offer them at all times. Is part of their cousin signature. The staff is beyond friendly. Anything you need they are there to help you (except for the tortillas in the morning lol. I asked every morning and only one morning I got three). The hotel is very very clean. Overall one of the best resorts we have stayed at

Good Resort

Everything is fantastic except for the beach,if the resort improve also on the beach for swimming the resort have a goldstar.They should put aside some rocks for people go for a swim when you go for swimming becareful you might hit a rock or sting by jellyfish that's what happen to me.

Beautiful resort!!!

The hotel is huge, beautiful and clean. Since we were able to go to the other three resorts, there are lots of walking to do and to visit. The public areas were nice and clean. Rooms were average but clean. No issues with the AC. They should put more shelving inside the big dresser, that holds the TV, to get more storage for the clothes. My only issue was with the access cards to get in the room, they stopped working after a day. Twice we got locked outside our room and needed to go to  [... read more]the front desk to get the access cards re-magnetised. We finally got one access card to work but the second card worked for only half a day. We gave up on trying to get both to work and managed to use only one access card for the rest of our trip. Apparently they went with a new company for the access cards and they easily get demagnetised. They told me to keep them away from electronics aka cellular phone?! Weird but it did not work since one card stopped working and we kept it away from our electronics. The buffet style restaurant was nice and clean. Lots of food and good variety. The a la carte restaurants were good and the food was great. You might have to walk quite a distance to get to them because they are spread through out the four resorts. You should book them first thing after you are done unpacking and have your room number. The food at the restaurant at the beach was good. The lineup for the burgers were interfering with the lineup to get other food which was annoying and frustrating at times. The beach is beautiful but very small grain of sand. You will get sand blasted when it is very windy. Lots of palm trees for shade. Enough lounge chairs for everyone. If you want a good location on the beach, you will need to go place your towels on the lounge chairs before 8am. Strongly recommend to wear water shoes when going in the ocean because there are too many big rocks on the ocean floor and very spread out. The water is murky and you don't see them. The swimming pool are large and enough lounge chairs for everyone. We went swimming with the dolphins, it was awesome and it is located on the resort so didn't need any kind of transportation to get there. The drinks were good but I wish they had a menu to tell us what they were offering. The beer must have been watered down because it didn't have an effect on me after drinking so much of it. I will definitely go back in the future. Probably try the adult only resort located at the same place.

Something for everyone!

This resort was amazing! We travelled as a couple with my in-laws, and would definitely return again with our baby. There is something for everyone! You have access to 3 of the 5 resorts if you stay with at the Tropical or Colonial. These two are basically twins and you share some of the same amenities. We had no reason to explore the other resorts but the stretch of beach allowed for nice long walks. If you enjoy the water, make sure to bring water shoes as it is quite rocky in most areas. Ther [... read more]e are some access points where soft sand is available. There is an amazing water park for kids right by the main pools, as well as a larger one at an additional cost. There is a casino, bowling, a mall, rock climbing and so much more available to you. If you enjoy getting a workout in the gym was amazing and also included towel service. Food was great! Lots of options and good quality. The evening shows weren’t to our tastes, but the auditoriums were always packed. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan to return again! The only bad experience was the transportation back to the airport. We were packed into a tiny van & made to sit at the very back where there was no windows or airflow. I’m not claustrophobic by any means, but this is not an experience I ever hope to experience again.

Amazing Resort, Beautiful Vacation

Amazing resort, staff were so kind, food was good, overall resort (pools ,bars, beach) fantastic! You also have access to the other 3 or 4 resorts in the compound which was great! There is a maya mall, casino, activities even a Mexican market all within the resort which was amazing. Also did the caves and tulum ruins excursion that was phenomenal. I highly recommend this resort, I would revisit 110%.

Great resort

First time visitors....lovely resort. Beautiful landscaping and the staff was top notch ! Cons...entertainment ...asides from aqua aerobics , the pool area was very dull....elevator music and Disney songs. Drinks veeeery weak....I'm a lightweight and didn't even catch a buzz. Would go back again...the pros outweighed the cons..BUT will bring my own rum to top up my drink :0)

OK resort but not recommend

Landscape is beautiful. Room is great. Beach is nice. Food has to be better and some items over salted. Bus from airport to hotel was very dirty and smelly.,..........................................................................................................

Very Nice Hotel

Very clean, Beautiful hotel. Room service is very good. Food is great and delicious. Beach is very clean and adorable. My family really enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Without any hesitation, I would like to recommend this hotel any one traveling to Mexico.

Barcelo Maya Tropical

It's a big resort of six hotels. There is an adults only (the most expensive) and a premium one (palace). Then, there is the Tropical (where I stayed) and three more. If you stay in any of these four hotels you can enjoy their restaurants, pools and services as It's just one hotel. Good experience in general. The service at the lobby is not good though. Good resort

I recently stayed at this hotel and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating from the moment I arrived. They went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The room itself was spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. I appreciated the attention to detail in the decor and furnishings, which gave the room a luxurious feel. Clean massive resort!

This is a massive 5 star resort with lots of amenities. Best part was the free Hydro-therapy at the spa. However, the sheer size actually works agains the resort. It takes a while to figure out how to get from one place to other. They have a shuttle between multiple resorts, but they probably needed some golf carts for travel. The beach is at one end and the buffet at another. All restaurants are very time bound, likely due to the massive operation size. However, the facility is immaculately Ma [... read more]intained. Another great vacation at Barcelo Tropical

We stayed at this hotel before and again we had a wonderful vacation. The room, the pools, the beach, the restaurants and the entertainment are topnotch every day again. If you don't like this resort there is definitely something wrong with you..hahaha All the hard working staff are doing everything possible to make you feel relaxed and giving you this extra holiday feeling we all need...

Beautiful Stay

Great from start to finish ! Room was exactly as promised, great location on the property - we did Premium Level - highly recommend - large property but, you can either choose to walk far and venture out - or stay close to your building and will still find everything you need. Amazing Resort!!

This was my second time at Barcelo Maya and I will be back, these resorts are amazing, clean, good food, so much to do for eveyone. I took 4 more people that had not been to Barcelo Maya, and they said it was the best place they had been to in the Mayan. No issues at all, Covid is not an issue anymore, up to you if you want to wear a mask. We stayed a week and didn't get to everything, we will be back. This was our first time flying Air Transat in many years and they were fantastic, much better [... read more] than Sunwing. We had no kids but if you do this is perfect for them, lots of activities, seperate pools, bring a floatie!
