Amazing resort!

Recently we stayed at this amazing resort. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed watching the ocean from the balcony of our junior suite ocean view room. The cleaning staff kept our room spotlessly clean, and we enjoyed the nightly turn down service. The food was delicious (excelente). The drinks were great. The hotel and grounds were continuously being cleaned and groomed. This small resort was quiet and we could always find a chair whether on the beach, pool, bar or restau [... read more]rants. Best relaxing vacation under the sun Ever!

We visited this hotel from Feb 2 to Feb 9, 2017. We did not know what to expect, as it was our first time in Samana. We loved it! The hotel is small, quiet, and clean. We strongly recommend it for couples who are looking for a place to relax. No need to fight for a spot on the beach or by the pool, plenty of chairs available all day. Restaurants: Maitre D' Crisostomo Gonzales, Anneylissa and Meilin (buffet) were very welcoming and always made sure to provide the best available table. Then Jose, Jesus, Oliver, Ingrid, Eunice, and Wendy made sure our glasses were never empty. Exceptional service and always with a smile! We were also impressed by the hard working waiters at the a la carte restaurants: Ramon Garcia, Eddy, and Fautos. Pool Bar: Hansel and Yacauris both went the extra mile to make sure our drinks were prepared exactly the way we wanted. They also took initiative and welcomed us with fresh pool towels each time we came back to the pool after lunch. Theater Bar: Carlos and Adeudice made sure we finished the evening with a few generous glasses of MamaJuana. Ay! Spa: Mercedes provided great facial services at the Spa. This is a true 5-star hotel that will provide you with a relaxing and worry free vacation. But, if you want to party, walk the beach for miles, shop, and do a lot of sports and activities, this is not the place for you. We suggest you go to one of those big resorts in Punta Cana instead.

Very Good Resort, lives up to expectations!

We spent a week here in late January after my having conducted extensive research into destinations. The hotel was as I expected - it is fairly represented by the hotel and in reviews. The views are spectacular - you must get a room with a balcony and a sea view. The buffet is gorgeous - open air, with sea views. It really feels like you are on the Mediterranean. We really liked the beach, sandy bottom and big enough. There is an undertow and we did have some yellow flag days due to wind and wave. The pool is quite small, but I am an ocean girl anyhow. I got a head cold so I can't report on the snorkeling unfortunately. The only downside is that there is really little to do or see in the area. Personally, I would not spend two weeks here because I would be bored, but lots of people seemed quite happy to be there for two weeks! It is an older crowd - we are late 40s and early 50s and we were younger than many. It is quiet which we like, but evening entertainment we found a bit dull... We found the staff fine - neither abundantly helpful nor unfriendly. But we are not really joiners, and many people seemed to have fun with the staff. A good resort to chill for a week as a couple, but be prepared with some books!

I have been on 7 all inclusive resorts. It was definitely not a 5 star

First I want to write that I was not happy with our trip advisor Louise Issa. She was very pushy to get me to book and booked without us paying. When I wanted to change that booking she said I couldn't (even though I had not paid). Once I went into pay she made me feel like I was bothering her. I had a few questions which initially she answered promptly and then just stopped answering them. I would suggest someone else. It was mostly the food that was warm at best even if you arrived right when it opened. It is a very small resort with one pool (cold) but the beach was nice. The room was nice and I did have ocean view but I was on the second floor so I had to look over the spa to see the ocean ha. Also, the 1 hour from the airport is actually 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 because what they fail to tell you is they drop passengers at two different hotels first. I definitely would not spend the 3000.00 and go to this resort again, nor would I use trip central (louise)

Amazing resort !

Just spent a week at this amazing resort. The views are breathtaking . Excellent food...staff were so helpful and so willing to please. Perfect place to unwind and relax. The complex was so clean from the beach to the pool area to the dining to the guest rooms.

The resort was amazing and very relaxing.

The staff was amazing and very caring. We even witnessed the pool be scrubbed down before people entered the pool. The kitchen staff under the chef was super. In general, This was one very good resort to go to. Everyone worked to make your stay very enjoyable.

The hotel was beautiful The rooms where spacious and very very pretty The view from are room was breath taking you could hear the waves and smell the water ,The entire staff from front desk to the entertainment team where amazing..Our butler Roman was excellent from putting scents in our room to the extra pillows Always making sure we where taken care of' We traveled with two other couples..We all had a blast..The entertainment team was great always keeping laughing or doing some activities. [... read more].LUIS and BERNADO where amazing.. The food was great always something new displayed beautifully..The entire staff in the restaurants where all amazing even if you didn't tip they always made sure you where taken care of If you couldn't find something they would go look for you This hotel is one off the nicest places I stayed diffently would come back .

Amazing Resort

This hotel is amazing from start to finish. From the front desk to our rooms with a beautiful view. The staff here was great. What ever you wanted and you couldn't find it they would get if for you. The pillow menu and the scents in the room were great. Food was so good. Something for everyone. The beach was great, the ground were amazing kept. Love this place so glad we went.

Amazing Resort and staff

From the moment we arrived at the hotel everything was taken care of. Check in was a breeze as everything was already prepared for us when we arrived. Our Butler, Ramon was the friendliest and most helpful person we have ever met. He was always joking, laughing and went out of his way to say hello and talk with us wherever we were on the resort. This is a very small resort and within a few days, the staff new us by name, very impressive. The entertainment staff, Luis, Bernardo, Martha and Jennifer were very friendly and always entertaining. They made our week very enjoyable. There were two gentlemen that came to the hotel daily to teach arts and crafts. We made paintings and other crafts that we were able to take with us as souvenirs. The grounds are immaculately kept. The lawns, trees and bushes are all impeccably manicured. The lobby and common areas are spotless and we always saw workers cleaning and dusting. The beach is a little smaller than I like; however there are no rocks to stub your toes in the water, just nice soft sand wherever you step. We had nice waves on the beach most of the week, but that just made it more entertaining riding the waves. The rooms were very clean and large. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our balcony. I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

Awesome resort!

This was one of the best places we've stayed at. The room's were spotless, grounds well taken care of, food was good, (seafood night was my favorite) the Don Pablo restaurant highly recommend, service was top notch - they were all very attentive and you being happy seemed to be their top priority.

Best trip ever!

Just returned last night. Best resort ever! Room #222 ~ beautiful view of the sea! Travelled with another couple. Room was beautiful. Staff were all warm & friendly. Food was great. 24 hr. butler service! We only used it for softer pillows & scented oils that they burn in your room each night, if requested. Our friends used it for room service ( meal brought in - breakfast ). No fee! We tipped. cleaning staff were excellent , kept fridge filled with the same items each day. Pop, water, beer- Dos [... read more] Equis! mini bottles of rum, vodka & scotch. two bags of potatoe chips! they also turned the bed down two evenings with chocolates on the bed , linens on the floor to wipe your feet before bed! ( this is while we were at dinner ). We liked the Don Pablo Restaurant. Never tried the other two . We were happy with the buffet. This resort is small and quaint. never a line for anything! I think there was a total of 134 people at the resort when we were there. There was always evening shows, we never made one! In bed by 10 ... Tons of chairs by the pool and beach... "saving" chairs wasn't needed!!! Tons of sitting spots. Beach was nice. Not huge. If you like long walks...not going to happen. Lots of rock cliffs. Servers were great, not alot of english. .. but kind. YOU NEVER SAW FIGHTING FOR ATTENTION OR TIPS, they appear to share what ever is given. If you are looking for a party, this is not the place. It is quiet. It was exactly what we wanted... spend the days by the pool reading, laughing and drinking! we were ready for bed by ten! all adult... so quiet.. no loud music playing at the pool. The activity staff were fun... but not in your face. Bingo, golf putting, horse shoes on the beach ...dance lessons. ( if... you wanted!) older crowd (50+).. a few young couples! teenagers would be bored! two small shops... absolutely no vendors come on resort. Very private & secure. The wine is excellent ( both red & white ) & I am a wine drinker. ( finer wines if you want to purchase ) many premium alcohols.. kahluha..absolute vodka, grand marnier... draft beer ~ presidente. I could go on & on ... we will return next year. One thing we forgot ... bug spray ! & use it! We all got a few bites here and there. If you do not like stairs or have bad knees... not the place for you...it is one hour & 8 minutes from the airport to the resort... Go ... we have travelled many times ... this was our favourite so far ...

Immaculate resort

Probably the best kept resort I have ever stayed at! Gorgeous views no matter where you are on property. Small but picturesque private beach. The food was exceptional. Huge variety of food every day and the presentation of the food was outstanding. The staff outnumbered the people staying at resort, so help was always available. Would of liked a couple staff members to be fluent in English. Language barrier was an issue at times. Would of been nice to converse more with staff to learn more about [... read more] the Samana region. Up to me I guess to better learn Spanish! One negative. The resort was surprisingly close to road on one side and you could hear a lot of cars/horns early in morning. Bring ear plugs if u want to sleep in.

Great resort for R & R

We stayed at the resort the first week of December 2016. Highly recommended. Positives - beautiful resort, small with 190 rooms - staff are great, engaging and friendly - food is good to great - lots of chairs and loungers - clean, clean, clean - great views of the mountains, sea and sunsets - good entertainment for a small resort - good house wines - WiFi coverage is okay Cons - small beach but that could be a plus too - not a place for party people but that could be a plus too [... read more] - I'd like to have a sound bar in the room for music If you love quiet, quality service and nature, this is the place for you.

Top-end resort

High marks for the rooms, meals and overall atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. All rooms overlook the Sea and the views are spectacular. Beach is so-so but not a deal breaker. Airport at Samana (El Catey) was a breeze.

Luxurious!

Absolutely stunning resort with true luxury service. The food at the buffet and al la carte was amazing! If you are a seafood lover, you will love the selection. Also the Brazilian Restaurant with amazing cuts of beef etc., all I can say is WOW 💯. We celebrated our honeymoon here and we look forward to returning on our anniversary!

Fantastic

This resort is a perfect place to go to relax. We enjoyed the beach area, the pool area & pool bar every day. The staff was helpful and great customer service. The food was the best I have had at any resort. Amazing choices at the buffet - the A-la Cart restaurants were ok - but we actually preferred the buffet or room service. We have no complaints - this resort is one of the best we have ever been too.

Amazing week in paradise

Our stay at luxury Bahia Príncipe Samana was incredible. The hotel was beautiful. We got upgraded to a room with an ocean view which was a great surprise. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. We thought the food was good too. There was a lot of selection and we always found something we liked. Top tip: the ice cream is excellent! The first day that we were there, the beach was fairly dirty with debris and garbage (possibly due to winds or currents?) but every other day it was clean a [... read more]nd clear. We made use of the free shuttle to Cayo Levantado which was also beautiful. Overall everything was great during our stay!

Amazing resort!

Very cozy and friendly! Definitely will come back again. Amazing ocean view. Great personal. Very clean beach. Quiet and feel like in paradise. A lot of trips. It is better as in Bahia Principe Lavandada!

Perfect Vacation!!

Small, quiet and relaxing!! It was exactly what we were looking for. Great food, excellent service and spacious rooms overlooking the ocean. A la carte restaurants and buffet offered delicious food!! Entertainment was limited but good enough for us.
