Great getaway!

Resort and rooms was what was expected. Service was great, pools were very clean, beach was beautiful. Elevators were hit and miss. Food was plentiful. Lobby bar was very busy in evening and relax area for lunch was delightful. Only complaint would be lack of respect of patrons.

Amazing resort!

We were a group of 24 including kids and we had a great time at Iberostar Laguna Azul. The grounds were kept, lobby is spectacular and the pool and beach was a short walk from the rooms. Dayana was very attentive to our daily routine and kept our rooms tidy. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a getaway that includes an awesome beach and resort. Food is a bit better than your average Cuban resorts.

Not worth the money

I went in 2010 it was amazing 5 stars so we wanted to go back . We went on Jan/02/23 Extremely disappointed - 1 star food sucked the alcohol was dilute there was cockroaches in the in buffet area by the tables were we eat all the restaurants in the resort had cockroaches no food selection every day was the same thing .it our room only once the towels was changed I will never go back and don’t recommend anyone to go!!!!

Loved it!

We travelled as 2 families over the Christmas holidays. We were very fortunate with Air Transit. 2 hour delay on the way there and half an hour on the way back but we got our luggage unlike West Jet and Sun Wing! I've been to this resort 3 times now. Ice cream stand was a nice daily treat too. 4 a la carte restaurants provided great service. Japanese is always a front runner followed by Italian, Romantico and Cuban. Delicious and nice to have table service. Bring a deck of cards as sometimes it's hard to fill the time in between dinner and the show. The lobby is spacious and grand and it carries out to a large, beautiful patio. We all enjoyed stretching on the beach, dance lessons, beach volleyball, ocean swims, ping pong, pickleball on the tennis courts (brought our own paddles).... Cuba's beach and ocean can't be beat. Turquoise water and white sand. The animation team works hard to get people involved in games and contests, but you can be as lazy or active as you want. Lots of shade available in the huts at the beach. Not much shade at pool area. Fun in the sun! Miss the palm trees and Pina Coladas already.

Christmas vacation

Was pleasantly surprised with the food, but 24 snack bar was dirty and had obvious roaches everywhere. Rooms were dated but clean, common areas clean, but furniture in rough shape. Limited entertainment.

Horrendous food

The hotel grounds and the beach are great, I really enjoyed the pool area. The cigar lounge was my favourite place the staff there are all amazing ! Tip them and they’ll take care you of you. Sadly the rest was a huge disappointment. The food was not only bad but gave both of us food poisoning. 2 of the people we met had the same issue. I spent a whole day on the toilet . They had no problem taking our Canadian currency and giving us pesos but when asked the next day if they can exchange 500 peso bill into 100s they said go to bar. The only good staff there are cigar lounge and pool area. Even 24 hr snack bar that had kind of decent food constantly would say “nothing yet give us 20-30 min”

I would recommend this resort!

Rooms are clean and the resort is clean and well maintained. You are never hungry. Recommend the Japanese restaurant and the Cuban as well. Super amazing staff always there to help with a big smile! Bar staff was entertaining. Lobby was a great place to join up to meet with a group. Champagne night to light the Christmas tree was fun.

Beautiful Resort

The Iberostar Laguna Azul is a beautiful resort; The beaches and staff are second to none. You will however have to adjust to some deficiencies. Always have toilet paper with you. In public areas, once the roll empties it will stay that way until morning. Bring hand sanitizer as well. There are several hand sanitizer dispensers around the resort but they are all empty and when the soap in the bathrooms empty they too will stay that way until the morning. Make sure you check out the spa on the 5th floor. It's not really advertised but they offer a fabulous massage!

Beautiful resort

The resort itself was beautiful, the gardens and trees was amazing. All the staff were fantastic people, got to know a few of them in the short time I was there. The rooms were good, except ran out of toilet paper one day when it was needed. So now for the bad part, cockroaches in our food. They were everywhere in the buffet restaurant. The la crates were ok. It just seeded to be in the buffet restaurant area. Also, I got eaten by sand fleas. I had to go see the Dr. when I got home, the bites were infected and inflamed. He gave me a cream that I use twice a day and two kinds of pills, one I take 4 times a day and the other one once a day. I would really appreciate it if f I could get some kind of discount for the horror of cockroaches. Left my luggage outside when I got home after they might be in there. I left lousy after seeing cockroaches and fleas. Disgusted 🤢 not to happy. Disappointed in trip☹️

Good experience

The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful. Nice beach. The food choice was limited but this is expected for Cuba. It was quiet except for one night when there was a party at the beach. Overall we had a good experinece

Iberostar Laguna azul

L'hôtel est bien, j'ai été déçue de ne pas avoir tout de suite ma chambre avec vue sur l'océan. J'ai dû attendre 62 jours pour l'avoir. Le prix était trop cher car j'ai discuté avec des touristes qui ont payé beaucoup moins cher.

Nice hotel

The staff are so friendly & helpful: numerous excursions organized onsite & were great. Beautiful beach. Pools are nice main pool was closed one day because it turned green. The food is what you would expect in Cuba. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day.

Perfect vacation

First off thank you to Trip Central Travel Agents. AMAZING!! We loved the entertainment at Iberostar Laguna Azul. The beaches were so beautiful. Drinks great. Food was honestly pretty decent. Always found something good. Maid service was spectacular. Disco, every night entrainment show, 24hts snacks and drinks was perfect. We couldn't have been more impressed!!

Okay

The food was horrible and it was very hot in the lobby! The staff was the best part of the resort very friendly! The pool and the pool bar were also amazing. It was very difficult to get a drink at the lobby bar. The power also went out for three days with no way to contact home. If you like to get drunk and not eat any food this is the place for you!

Terrible resort

I will be going over all the topics listed below. BEACH AND POOLS beach was pretty nice they had great deals on cigarettes so that’s cool. Pool was wicked drank enough to kill an elephant there and reberto was a fly ass bartender. ROOMS Our room was filled with mold on the walls, there was cigarettes butt’s in our bathtub and our shower head was ripped off and had absolutely no shit tickets and believe me with the food in this hell hole you are gonna need shit tickets. VALUE spent collectively 1500$ in tips still couldn’t get a drink LOCATION we got shit whipped by a hurricane you tell me OVERALL Not a great place to vacation but my fuck did we drink a lot of Havana club, if you go to this resort good luck I hope u like getting wasted

Emazing beach!

Amazing beach. Service, food, supply etc. need to be fixed. Probably, all limitations are effects of Covid-19. But Cuba will fix everything sure. Beach, weather, water, sea, umbrellas, sand on a beach were perfect.

Great Vacation

Very nice place- would go again. Little too much Fish to choose for food for us :( overall was great :) Beach could of been cleaned up more often by shoreline, but was nice! Great entertainment, friendly people and beautiful scenery

Amazing resort

Everything was good a part from the food! Oh and the cleanliness of the beach! You go in the morning and you notice there are used glasses from a day before which were not picked up and washed and left there over night! The gypsies who try to sell stuff to you are always on the beach and they are very disruptive. They sometimes get into a fight within themselves and ruin your relaxation.

Worth a stay

The variety in pools and access to the beach are great. The nightly shows on the resort and activities on the beach/pool side (dancing. Games) was a great add on that i was not expecting. It made every day fun hearing the music and feeling apart of the culture. The staff were great. Friendly and helpful. Rooms could use some work. The bathtub would not drain and a few minor aesthetic items. During a rain storm in the hallway the rain was pouring through a light fixture. The food was okay (lik [... read more]e everywhere experiencing shortages) they offered the best selection of food possible. You wont go hungry. The "specialty" Restaurants (italian and romantic) were not worth it. There was nothing different from the buffet just less options on fancier plates. My spaghetti noodles came out with a big clump stuck together. The "vegetable salad" came with nothing on it for a dressing. It was just bare cabbage. The options in the store are very slim (no snack items) so if you are bringing kids or even some adults i suggest bringing some items with you. Overall i would recommend this resort to stay. It was beautiful. Hopefully some of the minor details can be taken care of to ensure people want to come back.

Great first time experience in Cuba

This was my first time in Cuba. Stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul. As I expected the food is blah. But I didn't go hungry. Of note next time I visit, I won't waste my time at the specialty restaurants as its pretty mush the same food at the buffet. The hotel room itself is looking dated but again, I was only there to sleep in. Hotel staff very friendly and the swim up bartender Felix was great. Looking forward to going back. Oh and next time I will be taking some American $$.
