Overall a great and relaxing getaway at the Lady Hamilton

We just got back from the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton and overall we had a great time. Below is some of my pros and cons Pro: Staff very nice and friendly Layout of resort to be easy and walk-able Pool area nice and clean. Beach area was nice ( a little small) Sunset cove area was amazing (quiet and not as windy) Restaurants we very good. My favs was the Creole, Chez Bubba and Poseidon. You need to go to the Jerk Hut at Sunset Cove. Worth the walk! The lounge area is a great place t [... read more]o go and relax after dinner. Nice entertainment and cozy chairs to sit in and watch. Cons (But not deal breakers): Room took a while to get cleaned. Usually our room was not cleaned until close to 4 pm. We found some of the restaurants a little cold so you may need to bring something to keep you warm unless you sit outside. If you have younger children be leery of the the night time shows. We found them to be a little too much for our 6 year old to watch. Also, if you want to be closer to the main pool area and lounge try to Villa 27,28. If you want to be near Sunset Cover and a more quieter area of the resort try Villa 35,36. Again not too much of a walk but if you have small children and prefer not to carry them after a long day/evening Villa 27,28 might be better for you.

Good food, nice resort!

The hotel is a 45 minute bus ride from Montego Bay..not a bad ride.. The restaurants, at the hotel were really good, grounds well kept, room was nice..downfall was the thin walls..we heard the neighbours talking...we were on the ground floor...sounded like the people above were having a dance competition... The beaches were nice, but bring bug spray...unfort., our youngest was food for the sand fleas... Overall, a relaxing getaway..

Great resort

1. Beautiful grounds that emerged in glowing blossoms as the week progressed, yet with fewer grounds men than seen at other large resorts. 2. Many security patrol the grounds. 3 The evening showtime was great - No 2 in 10 years of Caribbean trips, with so many classy costume changes and performers 4. Good range of restaurants, but pre-booking time is essential to avoid long line ups at peak periods 5. Staff very friendly.

Amazing resort,amazing people!!

I was so sceptical about booking because I was unsure what to expect based on reviews;however, from the moment we got to the resort we were not disappointed with our choice. From the service to the food to the cleanliness , all around amazing experience!! Head to the adult Coral bar and get a drink from Rodney, he is a phenomenol bartender , such a kind soul!! Everyone made you feel right at home and so welcome, the customer service is on point. We will definitely be returning!!!

Awesome!

We just got back from the Lady Hamilton and we had an amazing week. Didn't want to leave! Great resort, huge resort which we liked. Gives you time to walk off your meal from one of the La carts. 7 to choice from so you always had something new to choice from. The pool is massive and very nice! We spent most of are time on the Sunset cove beach. We loved it! Calm and clear water with an awesome view. There's so much to do at this resort I could easy see spending two weeks here. Something for everyone!!

We loved our week at the Lady Hamilton !!! The service was exceptional, the resort was clean and beautifully landscaped. There's a variety of things to do there so no one in our group was ever restless or bored . We did not travel with children, but this reaort is definitely family-friendly ! True paradise!

This resort was absolutely outstanding, from the staff to the beautifully manicured grounds. I have stayed at 3 other resorts prior to this one, and the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton far surpassed the others. The staff was very approachable and helpful at all times. This resort boasts many a la carte restaurants , which served very high quality dishes with highly trained servers. The best part was that no reservations were necessary for these restaurants. I found this extremely convenient, and w [... read more]e only ever had to wait once for maybe 10mins to be seated. The beaches were also beautiful whith lost of natural coral to explore if you like to snorkel. The pools were nicely cooled which proved very refreshing on those really hot days. A truly amazing experience for my husband and I, and we definitely plan to return in the future.

Beautiful!

We had a wonderful time. The food was good and our room was nice. They have several different pool and beach areas to enjoy and the view is fantastic! We really enjoyed the many different themed restaurants!

Beautiful resort!!

From the moment we arrived and until the very end I felt very welcome and at home. The staff was very friendly and everyone greeted you with a smile. Just keep in mind this resort is HUGE however they do provide you with a shuttle to take you around. When my boyfriend and I arrived at the resort they took our baggage for us and immediately fixed us up a drink, after we were escorted to our honeymoon villa.... My jaw dropped. There are a few things I would change. Don't get me wrong I still had an amazing time and was amazed by the resort however, there was no culture/music or jamaican food. I went to jamaica to experience Jamaica... You can't do that at this resort. The music they played wasn't jamaican music or even a mix. If they did attempt to play jamaican music, they would play Bob Marley (I love bob marley don't get me wrong). Unfortunately there is a stereotype that this is the only music they listen too. Trust me it's not. As for the food... The food they had there tasted amazing however they barely had Jamaican dishes (they would have one or two dishes) and if there was they made it very bland. Despite the food and lack of culture lol I do highly recommend this resort but just a tip, if you want to experience Jamaica it is safe to travel with the taxi there at the resort and please do it. We had a great time!!

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton

Overall it was OK.  It started off somewhat slow, with our flight taking off a little late from the Montreal Airport, and then having to wait on the shuttle bus for over an hour once landing in Montego Bay.  We then had another hour and half wait at check-in once arriving at the resort.  We finally made it to our room at approximately 12:30 Sunday morning local time.  To say the least, we were done for the day and the night. The next morning, despite being on the second floor, we ha [... read more]d a little uninvited visitor in the room, that made a dramatic appearance by landing on my wife's head.  My wife drew open the curtains only to have a lizard land on her head.  Needless to say she was startled and in turn she startled the rest of us.  I did manage to capture the little bugger by trapping it in a glass.  (see attached photo)  Thinking back it was pretty funny. The room was spacious and had all the essential amenities, one thing missing was the remote control for the television.  I had requested one that morning and once again the following afternoon, but was never supplied one, so therefore no TV for the duration of the vacation.  The other room complaint was the pull out sofa bed for the kids, it was extremely firm (actually hard, no give whatsoever) to point where our younger daughter had to sleep with my wife and I. The beach was beautiful, the water was clear and calm all week long.  The pool was inviting and refreshing.  The food was excellent with plenty of variety. We did managed to have a good time despite the issues with the room.  I probably would not go back to this particular resort, but more than likely will go back to Jamaica at some point.

Great Resort

Everything about this resort was amazing. The room service, the rooms, the food selection, everything. I recommend going on the catamaran cruise for a day. The only disappointment for me was the beaches as they were filled with rocks and seaweed. I was warned about this as Negril is where the nicest beach is, which is what I got to see on the catamaran cruise! Everything in Jamaica is relaxed. This hotel is large with everything you'll need to have. Amazing service!

Nice resort!

Beautiful room and grounds. A la carte delicious, but the buffet needs a bit more selection. Beach is beautiful. Pools are nice. Long drive if you want to go to Negril or Montego Bay. Many of the rooms are air conditioned.

Great resort!

The resort is very well kept the staff keep the place very clean. The food was pretty good not great but pretty good. The only complaint we had was the housekeeping needs to restock all supplies every other day. We should not run out of things like toilet paper? Towels or shampoo. Entertainment was great! staff like Naby, red stripe and Happy are awesome!

Excellent without being over the top

Attractive and well kept grounds, food usually very good, pools were really good. Lots of cover from the sun was available. Overall really good for a family vacation, for couples or just a quick getaway

Amazing overall resort!

This resort has it all, wonderful people so friendly. As well great food with many different restaurant choices.Fabulous surroundings with spacious/beautiful rooms. You can pamper youself in many different ways at this resort. Would go back in a heartbeat. Loved it!!

Absolutely Amazing Resort and Beautiful Wedding!!

The Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton is an awesome resort!! I was the bride in a group of 41 people that attended the resort from April 23-30, 2016 for our wedding. I did so much research prior to picking this resort, and I was not disappointed with my choice at all!! Our group ranged in ages from 3 to 75 and this resort literally had something for everyone. The resort is about 35-40 minutes from the airport, about halfway between Montego Bay and Negril. All of the rooms have balconies, and there pretty much isn’t a bad view from any of them. Being the Bride and Groom, we had booked for a 1 Bedroom Suite and they gave us a room with gorgeous ocean views from BOTH balconies, that’s right, our room had two balconies!! It also had two large flat screen TVs and a great bathroom complete with Jacuzzi tub and rain shower head. The air conditioning and ceiling fans also worked great, and they were very much needed as it was unseasonably HOT while we were there. All of the staff were even saying how hot it was and that it felt like their summer heat. We were blessed with perfect weather, nothing but sunshine and blue skies the whole time we were in Jamaica!! This is a huge resort and the first couple of days I was frustrated because I felt like I didn’t know where my entire group was staying and where everything was, but once we had our bearings, it was awesome. It felt like the more you walked around the resort, the more you would discover different gems and ‘feels’ within the resort. The main pool was huge and always happening, but you could go to the adult pool or beach for a more relaxed feel, or keep travelling to the furthest beach at Sunset Cove and discover snorkeling and some AMAZING jerk chicken. TIP: If you are travelling with a large group, when everybody checks in, write down their room numbers!! Trust me on this one, you will most likely be separated in to different villas and you will never remember their rooms otherwise. The food was amazing!! And again, there was something for everyone. The buffets had great selection and the restaurants were pretty authentic. The Poseidon (Seafood) and the Italian were our favorites. The Sports Bar literally had the best selection of 24 hour food available that we had ever encountered on vacation. You could literally show up at any time and get fresh food made to order, or ready to go at the buffet. Yes, it’s true about the a la carte restaurants, if you don’t get there right when they open then you will be waiting for over an hour most likely. This happened to us a couple of times during the beginning of the week, but we got smart by the end of the week! The bars and drinks were great too!! You could get any and all of the typical vacation drinks (pina coladas, margaritas etc) but if you trusted the bartenders, they would make you some awesome concoctions!! I did wish that they would keep the Sports Bar open longer for liquor, after a certain time they would only serve beer and you had to get the fun drinks at the disco or casino. I know that this was to keep people moving and trying out other bars within the resort, but the Sports Bar was our favorite spot and some nights we just wanted to keep drinking and hanging out there! I was impressed with the casino at the resort; it was tiny but had a decent selection of machines to play. They were all older but still one of the better casinos I’ve seen in the Caribbean. As for entertainment, there was always something going on, whether it was a show or a band or the disco, but we always found ourselves going for nightly dips in the pool since it was just so hot, even at night. It was awesome to be able to do that, as I know a lot of resorts don’t allow that. Our nightly swims are part of my favorite memories from our trip!! The Wedding Coordinators and specifically mine (Thorna-Ann) were just amazing and they work so hard! It can be stressful planning a wedding over email but they really help you along the way and are so patient with questions and concerns. This resort has the most beautiful, picturesque spot for weddings, at their “Garden Gazebo”. It’s literally on a Cliffside with a gorgeous ocean view and it’s nice and private. Overall, I can say that every one of the 41 people in our group had an absolute blast and fell in love with this resort and Jamaica!! My husband and I will return for an anniversary trip in the future for sure!!

Great hotel with lots of things to do and see

We stayed at this hotel the week of April 23-30th and it was our first time to Jamaica. From the moment we entered this hotel, everyone was very courteous and helpful. Check in was quick and our room was fabulous!!!!! We thoroughly enjoyed this resort and all the people working there. The buffet was excellent and the a la carte restaurants were great. My favorite was the Mexican and Indian. All beaches were really nice and we enjoyed changing it up each day between the huge pool and the beach. T [... read more]he Sunset Cove beach activities were great. My kids had a good time and my husband learned to sail a catamaran...whoooo! One suggestion would be to refresh the lounge chairs as several were broken. Since we have come back from Jamaica, I have really missed spending time at this resort and can't wait to go back. I have shared my positive feedback with my friends and everyone at work and I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jamaica. Thanks lady Hamilton for such a wonderful vacation. We will be back and we will definately ask for the same room.

Below Expectations

Our room was nice (junior suite) but the grounds were poor ( garbage/debris/cigarette butts at entrances/left-overs from the previous nite's partying/beaches not cleaned weeds-old tires-debris-plastics/beach swimming areas littered w/coral rocks,seawood resulting in scrapes/cuts etc/having to get up at 6:am to mark a pool chair/beach chair/insufficient beach towels.

Awesome trip!

The hotel is super clean. Very nicely decorated. The pools are well kept. Staff is polite and really helpful and friendly. Beautiful scenery, lots of things to look at and do. Overall an amazing experience.

Fabulous vacation

Everything about this resort is amazing with one exception. I booked with tripcentral.ca and Air Canada vacations and was meant to have an early check-in, the resort used excuse after excuse for the room not being ready and I was not the only one that had this treatment, very disappointing start to the vacation.
