Everything is good (location, food, accommodation, services, entertainment) except small insects its hard to see them and spray "Raid" that I took from Canada not work at all. A great coral reef for snorkeling and diving.

Media Luna Resort: Media Luna Resort. Roatan
We had read reviews on the resort and weren’t expecting the moon. The cabana was very roomy and comfortable although we were in 192 which was quite a walk to the dining area. The meals were adequate and granted not piping hot but good variety. We found both red and white wines were good. The beach was small but sufficient to access the reef for snorkeling. Snorkeling was good since the bay is protected and calm. Lots of interesting coral but not huge numbers of fish. We had no problems getti[... read more]ng cots on the middle deck with some shade. Staff were all very friendly. Interesting resort but would probably not go back to that particular resort.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: A great quiet resort
I stayed at the Mayan Princess Las Sirenas pool side from Dec 31, 2018 to Jan 14, 2019. I travelled alone and felt very safe in Roatan at the resort and while I explored the island. The room I stayed in was basic. Had everything I needed: bed, bathroom, closet, fridge, safe, fan, ac, tv and balcony. I didn't mind that it wasn't fancy because I wasn't there for the room I was there for the beach. The beach was beautiful. I walked it every morning. The water was always warm and clear and you could[... read more] snorkel by the one end and take beautiful pictures. There are also other resorts and shops onthe beach so I explored them daily. There are a lot of locals trying to sell you stuff but just say no thank you. Some come back and ask again. After the first week of me being there I think they understood I wasn't interested. The food was good, the soups were very delicious and of course the fish and meats were excellent. Sometimes they would have the food labelled and most not but it was ok, nothing fancy. The drinks I found strong but I just asked the bar tender to make them not as strong and they would. The pool area was very quiet on days the cruise ships were not there. It was relaxing. The cruise ships would come 3 times a week and it would get a bit busy at the beach or pool but they were only there til 2pm so it wasn't a big deal. It also made the locals focus more on them then the people already at the resort. The reception staff were awesome! Abigail, Yolani and Marquis always helped me if I needed anything. The bar tenders and servers were always very friendly. Oscar was the best waiter. He always greeted me with a smile and Good Morning. He always asked how I was doing and if I needed a drink. He would chat with me and made me feel very comfortable. If it wasn't for him I would have been bored my 2 weeks there. There isn't much activity during the day or night. There is an activity person but for the 2 weeks I was there I still don't even know his name. He never even looked at me or said hi until the day I left. I suggest more activities like dancing lessons or spanish lessons, aqua aerobics. Something to keep it exciting. I did go on an excursion I booked with the Sunwing rep. It was to Gumbalimba park. It only took 5 mins to get there and the monkey encounters were amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who loves animals. I did the island tour which was amazing as well but not through the airline because it was cacelled due to not enough people signing up for it. I saw sloths, birds and more monkies at Daniel Johnson's sloth and monkey hangout and saw Iguanas at Iguana park. I ate local food of Iguana and ox tail and went to Punta Gorda on Sunday to see the locals dance and sing. I also had a ride in a 3 wheeled taxi and enjoyed some local seafood soup.
Besides not having much activity because everything closes at 10pm it was a fun vacation because I got to explore the island with someone I met.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Disappointing
The rooms were very nice, clean. The gardens and pool areas well maintained (our friends who booked after were put at Las Serinas, their room was very small room for the bed, dresser and enough room to walk into bathroom where the toilet flushed every 30 mins. on its own they requested a repair which never happened.Las Sernias pool was missing several tiles which my granddaughter cut her foot quite bad. We had booked our trip in Jan 2018 and travelled Dec 31 2018 we had contacted the hotel a few t[... read more]imes regarding the size of our family and 2friends traveling as a group (14) would we be able to eat together, we had 2 people with shrimp allergies response was no problem , well it was a very big problem we were not allowed to move tables together so that we could eat together, there was no labels on the food and nobody would tell you if there was shrimp in the soup, rice, spaghetti sauce, wraps, which there was! also they didn't understand that by using the same serving spoons, pots and pans that they were cross contaminating the food. We spoke to the manager of the restaurant area and bar Douglas which was no help. My granddaughter who is a diabetic had an episode of low blood sugar and we couldn't get her some food because they decided not to open the afternoon snack bar, l went to the bar to see if they could get us something for her to eat and was told that we were sun wing there for we would have to wait until 700 until the restaurant opened I noticed there were people eating food at the bar but Douglas refused to get her any food I told him she was diabetic and he still refused ,one of the bar tenders heard me say that she needed food because she was diabetic and they had a discussion and finally agreed to get her some food they brought out a plate of French fries for her. I requested a meeting with the general manager Jaun F. Gomez de la tore as I had some problems I felt needed his attention. We met on day 2 he appeared very concerned over the food not being labelled, cross contamination with utensils, and the fact that the snack bar was closed and I had to argue with the bar manager to get food for a diabetic, he knew who it was right away.he offered us 2-3 nights in the speciality restaurant, we told him we had already booked that night. We were able to sit all together, there was 2 other people in the restaurant so a total of 16 people when we ordered the waitress told us they had run out of steak there was enough for 4 people so we made sure our 2 people with shrimp allergies had the steak while the other had chicken or lobster which was ok, then she told us they had run out of cheesecake and icecream but we could have the special cake ,it was the same cake offered in the buffet for the last 3 nights with different frosting, another disappointing meal. The food was labelled 3out of seven nights. I asked if the hotel was owned by the cruise lines as the people coming from the cruise lines were served first even if we were first in line, we couldn't play beach volleyball because the cruise ships were in port, you couldn't use the bar at San Simon because we were with sunwing, you couldn't get wine served during the day because you were with sunwing and not cruising. Because we had booked with sunwing we were treated as second class citizens . The buffet food was terrible I have never been served a square ham , and square roast beef so you can guess how it tasted,2nights they served green beans that were so old that they tasted like wood. We were able to arrange a dinner at San Simeon on seafood night as they could not garantee no cross contamination of the non seafood and there was no cruise ships in port. This was the best meal of the whole trip. It was very disappointing for the most part and if it wasn't for some of the, staff members the whole vacation would have been a disaster .thank you to Jr. Carlos, room service, grounds and pool care several bar tenders and Sterling from guest relations who tried hard keep the kids active. I think some education around allergies, and diabetics and hospitality should be mandated for people like Mario, Douglas who treated us so poorly. I have stayed at west bay 2 times and should have booked at the Henry Morgan resort but since it was a family vacation and wanted it to be special we were willing to try another 4 star resort. I work very hard for my money as a nurse and to spend 30,000 on what is suppose to be a 4 star that is really a 2.5 star resort it was very disappointing. Sunwing will be notified also about the problems and be told that as soon as you put that yellow band on your arm you are treated very poorly. As I stated I am a well travelled person and have never been treated like that before.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Not a all inclusive as advertised
Just spent a week at Mayan Princess in Roatan with a party of 14. The accommodation was beautiful and very clean. Gardens and pools are amazing. The beach is out of this world and the best snorkeling we’ve ever done. Be prepared the beach is totally overrun when cruise ships arrive in port, and you are bothered non stop with beach vendors. The food and drinks are absolutely terrible and very limited. Wine and special drinks are not included even though you pay for them as a all inclusive.[... read more] If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies you will go without eating as nothing is labeled and or allergy safe. The hotel ran out of bottled water and many options of food for dinner daily. Everyone in our party became sick from the food, along with many others who we spoke with at the resort. The resort has very limited dining times and only the buffet which is so small and does not always have snacks or choices of things to eat, it definitely is not a all inclusive like they sell you on! The internet was always down and the electricity is hit and miss. They have a guest services guy who tries his best, but you need to bug him to get activities planned or volleyball net set up. You need to be aware this resort sells day passes to the cruise ships so you have to fight to get a drink from the bar, fight to get beach or pool chairs, and good luck getting food that has not been gobbled down from the influx of day trippers off the ship. The main bar staff is extremely rude and unless you speak Spanish you will be ignored. You don’t get any bar service at the beach or pools like other all inclusives, you always have to go to the bar on your own and wait to be served. We will call out the great service and respect we received from Jr who oversees the bar at the other smaller hotel attached he was always happy to help and serve us as well as Oscar who always was friendly and tried to get us bananas or snacks when nothing was available. Overall this is a beautiful resort and could be a great place to stay if they put a investment into the dining options and sent staff and management to other all inclusive resorts so they can make the proper changes to complete the package you are paying for.

Media Luna Resort: Better than expected
Based on some of the details in the reviews, I had reason to believe things would be somewhat sub par. I have to say I wasn't overly joyed with the initial room I was given, room 117. This is one of the "Cabana Section" Rooms, which just means you're not in the super saver building, which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Room 117 has satellite dishes for a side lot, some broken tiles, a broken glass wall for the shower, some exposed wiring and a few other things. Really not one to complain an[... read more]d being pretty happy with everything else on the resort, mainly the people, and the reef we waited to say anything until Thursday which was 4 days in to our trip. Michelle was our Air Transat representative and did a great job helping other people who were very rude to her, and front desk staff when discussing issues with their rooms and the resort as a whole. I came back from diving the next day and Michelle had us upgraded to an ocean front cabanna that had no problems at all, with a beautiful view, room 138.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone going for diving, or strictly to relax. It costs $120 USD to get to west end, and to be honest I wouldn't want to stay on that side. We did the day trips and its nice to know we aren't missing out. The bars have limited booze types, the food is recycled and similar from day to day, but you won't go hungry. All juices (orange and fruit punch) are just your typical orange and purple drinks from the grocery store that are full of sugar and get old very quickly. If you can handle all that to do some of the best diving in the world, then go to this resort, if not and you want to be pampered go to mexico or something else.

Media Luna Resort: Disgusting experience
Dec 17 - Dec 24, 2018 - the nightmare.
I seriously spent some time writing it, so please spare a minute and read it if you plan to book a trip to this hotel...
INTRO
On the way to Roatan, we hit a rainstorm and had to make an emergency stop in Honduras. We stuck on the plane middle of the airport for 3 hours. All we got is water service once and the flight attendant was giving such an attitude to everyone it was disgusting. He would be straight rude to your face. Both captains were cool th[... read more]ough. They chat with us and updated on regular basis. We were not allowed to get off the plane even for a moment due to the situation in Honduras.
FUN PART
Ocean View and Garden View rooms are in horrible condition. Mould in each room, windows leak when it rains, ceramic tiles in the bathroom are all cracked and chipped, the shower head is so covered in calcium that you can barely shower. Throughout my stay, they sprayed for bugs only once, so on the 4th day after the spray, my room had lots of ants and some other pests that I never saw. I was bitten very badly and its still healing so brings some spray with you. Smoke detector in my room was not working, the fridge was not connected and when I tried to plug it in, the plug sparkled so I ended up pulling the fridge out completely and plugging in elsewhere, (both rooms had the same issue). I had something living in the attic all week. Not sure if it was lizard, bird or rat it was making noises and running all the time. As a light sleeper, it was truly horrible to sleep at night. I had to take pills to knock myself out. The sad thing is, I told them to patch the hole and something got trapped in the attic!!!! I could still hear it. “Beach towel†is actually a small bath towel. Therefore, if you are big, this tiny towel will not work for you. Honestly, the bath towel was bigger size so lots of ppl were using it instead. Water is salty in the shower and taps, so don’t drink it...Didn't ask other occupants, but I had a big problem with my stomach.. so make sure you take pills not only to help you to deal with diarrhea but also to help you "push" it out lol Food is okay, not great but I was not starving. Although I never saw them refilling dishes, so if you are late... tough luck. In addition, they had a big problem with plates and cutlery. There were times where there was still some food left but literally NO plates. Sun is very aggressive, always apply sunscreen lotion. ALWAYS. I got a sunburn on my first day, it was cloudy, and I had sunscreen on. Now I am all peeling. A bee stung me and this place does not even have a nurse on site. Sadly, I had no cream or other medications with me for this purpose. Entertainment team is good; guys were really working hard every day. Although I would not go there with kids coz there is really nothing for them to do. There were many elderly couples and many people from Montreal. Staff speaks better French than English.
Originally, I was checked in to room #107 although due to bad condition, I asked them to transfer me the same night. I ended up in room #104, which is closer to the restaurant. BTW, if you close to lobby/restaurant be ready to hear noises until 11 pm every night. It is very loud. VERY. "Ocean Front View" rooms apparently were in much better condition, they also have new green shingles but apparently, something is wrong with them or the way they were installed. Spa/Gym is located at the end of the resort and Oh. My. God. Too bad I cant add a picture.. Just don’t go there.. There are also two buildings by the main entrance and I heard that it is a tiny room with tiny window and a shared bathroom facility and these rooms are sold as "super saver" (saving like $100) or something like that. I spoke with few people who stayed in there and they said it was horrible and reception could not even transfer them anywhere else coz hotel was fully booked. I saw these buildings as we were heading to the airport and they looked like jail, literally. I spoke with few people who stayed at this hotel a few years ago and they loved it back then, the owner was different and everything was just amazing (all these pictures you see is from back then, not current). But now everything is falling apart. Oh one last thing.. water. You get 2 water bottles in your fridge 335ml and thats it! You have to carry these bottles with you and refill at the water cooler. If you want a new water bottle, it will cost you money!
CONCLUSION
I do not recommend this hotel. If you expect to receive any kind of service, this hotel is not an option. I was staying at the resorts that were old with 3 stars but the staff was taking really good care of it and they were always pleasant and helpful. Moreover, listening to lizards or birds running all night long in the attic is mortifying, especially when they start scratching the ceiling. This is not okay. Unless your purpose is strictly diving/snorkeling then you should be fine. Coral riffs and stuff is very good and worth trying, but besides that, it is very bad. Airport has no duty free but they have small snack bar at the waiting area, prices were fare and food was not bad at all. I bough sandwich and brought it with me on the plane, so as many other people.
Too bad I cannot attach pictures, would love to share them.
I hope you find my review helpful.

Paradise Beach Hotel and Resorts: Great Place To Stay, Great Breakfast, Not So Great Beach Food.
We upgraded from King Oceanic to a Luxury Suite and it was absolutely SO WORTH IT! Our original room was tiny with a tiny balcony overlooking nothing. Well, maybe a dumpster. Our one bedroom luxury villa had a massive patio overlooking gardens, palm tress and the pool. Nice kitchenette with fridge, microwave, sink, dishes and cutlery. There was also a 2-burner hot plate which was kind of useless because no pots and pans were provided and oddly we rarely travel with these items. There was also no[... read more] electric kettle (thankfully we packed that) for morning coffee and tea, but I simply cannot stress how worthwhile this upgrade was. Maid service was friendly and efficient, the morning breakfast buffet exceptional (with lovely servers) and big shout-out to Denber who was always ready to help. A few hints for the hotel:
* we had no kitchen towels, as in nothing. Maybe a few tea towels and a dish rag?
* an electric kettle would be awesome
* a pot or two for that hot plate?
* we had no face cloths and only 1 hand towel in the bathroom UNTIL I asked. I shouldn't have to.
* the shower completely flooded the floor (and bathmat) every time. Maybe a door?
I have reviewed the beach bar restaurant separately but suffice to say - DON'T eat there. It's great for sunset viewing and cocktails. But the food was probably the worst we ate in West Bay. But the resort itself is in a perfect location and has a nice chill vibe. Dive shop (Blue Planet) is also superb!

The cabanas were very clean and roomy. Lots of storage space. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food and service was great. Pools very clean. Disappointed in the small beach, but the snorkeling was ok near the resort. There was no place to sit and play cards and games in the evening. The lighting was very poor and there were only 3 small tables in the lobby. Great vacation and wonderful weather
