Las Brisas Huatulco: Great Resort

Las Brisas is a beautifully kept resort. Beaches are lovely with lots of lounge chairs on beach and poolside. Buffet excellent. Rooms satisfactory. Smart tv a bonus for steaming English programming. Definitely on our return to list.

Camino Real Zaashila: Small Friendly resort

There was noisy, dusty construction during our whole stay. There were not enough choice of dining rooms and limited menu options at dinner time. Breakfast and lunch facilities and were very good with lots of choice. The beach and pool were awesome with lots of pilapas and good bar service. The staff were always friendly and accomodating. This resort is not set up for all inclusive guests. As a result every transaction was billed and signed to the room which was time consuming, inconvie [... read more]nient and inefficient. Some menu items were not available on an all inclusive stay - for example, steak and lobster. The rooms are simple, clean but could use an update. The latch on the sliding door to the balconey was not functional which could be a security concern. Because of the design of the resort the balconey was not easily accessible from neighbouring room's balconeys so we did not feel it was a worth while complaint while we were there. Our Westjet representative did make a note of it, however.

Las Brisas Huatulco: great beaches

Food and rooms were very good. Being built on the side of a mountain there are a lot of stairs for that reason I would not recommend it to someone with mobility issues even though they do offer a tram service.

Secrets Huatulco: Would not recommend

Secrets Huatulco - things that were good: amazing ocean views from all areas of the resort; pools were larger than we expected and very nice; the French, Italian and Japanese restaurants had good food and service; house wine was decent; housekeeping did a great job with rooms serviced in a consistently timely manner every day; towel and toiletry supplies were generous and kept up. Now for the not so great stuff: lobby area is unimpressive; on arrival we received a cold bottle of water and hot [... read more] cloth - nice touch but where was the bubbly?; check-in seemed a bit chaotic because many people were in the lobby, and no staff member showed us to our room - they just pointed us in the direction we needed to go; check-in was for 3:00 (we got to the resort at 2:00) and we didn't get our room until around 3:30 and then still waited for our luggage for at least half an hour; had to go to the desk on our own to follow up on the when our room will be ready - no pager or call; no robes in the room; chintzy mini bar which was not replenished daily; the rooms are tired and run down - furniture is old and scuffed along with chips in mirrors, etc.; furniture in lobby is worn and dirty - even furniture in the Italian restaurant needs an update - ripped cloth and dirty; ground care is lacking; general upkeep is lacking; very poor lighting in the room at the sink area where one needs light to apply makeup; food at the buffet was ok and due to rumour floating around the guests we avoided the Oceana restaurant; none of the bars are inviting enough that you'd want to hang out and enjoy a pre-dinner drink; on the day before we left there was algae growing in one of the pools and the pool pumps were not working - nothing was being done about it and the algae just kept multiplying. Generally, our assessment would be that it seems this resort is in financial difficulty and the Hyatt needs to redo the whole place. It isn't representative of a Secrets experience as we've been to Secrets resorts in the past. We usually go to Excellence resorts who consistently win awards so that is our primary benchmark.

Secrets Huatulco: Not Impressed

Features of the Hotel are Tired and run down. Food is average and need a Dinner buffet. Beach has rough course sand. Evening entertainment sub par. Very noisy resort in the evenings from the music.Staff friendly but You can tell the Management does not have high expectations with the quality of the buildings and care of facility. Too much time wasted waiting for elevator going to eat or go to the pool. Definitely not a 4 1/2 star.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great vacation

We stayed for 10 days and loved the place. The beach club rooms and perks are awesome. The pools, beaches, food were great. It is our second time here and will be back. Nice and spread out so never seems crowded.

Secrets Huatulco: Excellent resort

We found the resort and all amenities to be very clean. The staff were accommodating and very friendly. If you are looking at relaxing this is the place. Entertainment was not great but all venues were enjoyed. The food was very good to excellent. Breakfast and lunches were excellent. The dinners are open to your own personal taste, we personally enjoyed the good variety and 5 course served dinners. Did not have room for desserts so got more creative with what we ordered for appetizers. You wil [... read more]l not go hungry at this resort. Bar service at the pool and beach excellent. People do not waste food at the resort and dish up appropriately. The beach is weather dependent with waves, however there is an area where you can take in the ocean most days if you want to swim or snorkel. The fish are colourful and there are 2 beaches to enjoy that are safe. Location to town is good only 85 pesos $7 CDN one way, I would recommend early morning visits to 11 AM or after 7pm evening excursions. Be close to water and in the shade from 11AM to 4PM to enjoy your stay, it gets stifling hot and the UV is at 12 so getting a sunburn can happen very quickly. We would definitely go back. Only one negative to the resort and it was the towel game, there were people putting towels and moving chairs at 4 AM to save a spot on the beach or poolside. This needs to be addressed by staff. However, the staff were always accommodating and helped us find chairs and shade fairly quickly usually removing someone else’s towels. They watch to see who was using chairs and who isn’t.

Barcelo Huatulco: Great time

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The beach is great to walk around on but you want to do it before noon as it gets very HOT 🥵. And go for a walk you will want to do as there are fish to feed at the end by the Dreams hotel where the rocks are. Bring fruit 🍌 as it is healthy for them lol. They still use the ol [... read more]d system of having to make reservations. When will hotels realize that NO ONE likes this. There are other hotels where a person doesn’t need to make reservations. You go to the restaurant you would like to eat at … if it’s full you are then given a vibrating disk. You go to the lounge have a pre dinner drink 🍹 and wait for your disk to vibrate. It takes care of people feeling like they can never go to a restaurant that you’d really like to try or where the customers feel that there is some favouritism going on. The hotel definitely makes a person feel that they want you to have a great time and if there is anything they can do to help with that they will. The only other issue besides the restaurant reservations is the lack of rooms with king size beds. It happened to at least to 10 other couples that we talked to while we were there for the first week. When questioned the front desk stated it was because it’s a family resort. Well evidently there is a need for “adult” rooms! It starts a person’s holiday off to a bad start when you have to go down and BEG to get moved to a room that you can sleep with your spouse. All in all I would go back to this hotel. For the price and what you receive I feel the price is reasonable. The staff are friendly and work hard for your enjoyment. Oh I also recommend going to their evening shows!! They are amazing and you will be glad you went. Plus from last year to this one they redid their whole program. Not one evening was a repeat from last year.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Beautifully Unique

This resort was built into the side of a hill. The vegetation around made for a stunning setting. The bays provided excellent swimming and snorkelling opportunities. Breakfast at the Mexican Restaurant was enhanced by the beautiful mountain views. Carts ran regularly making it easier to get from the rooms to the main areas. There are still many stairs to get to lobby, restaurants, pool and beach. The a la cartes we had were very good and the buffets had a variety of options. Beach service and dr [... read more]inks were good although bars didn’t open until 11:00am. The resort is meticulously clean and the washrooms are immaculate. Staff work very hard and are friendly. This is a beautiful resort with a unique landscape and is a perfect place to relax.

Barcelo Huatulco: Loved it!

Loved this Barcelo , very clean public areas and rooms ! Staff was friendly , easy to understand and seemed to love their jobs! Great evening shows , dancers and singers were very talented. Was there 10 years ago and would go back again! Please pass along my thanks for a great vacation .

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing resort

Loved Secrets!!! This is one of my favourite resorts - the food was amazing, the staff at the resort were so happy and helpful. The weather was incredible!! I loved how all of the pools had a different vibe - one was full of activities, music and had a swim up bar. The other pool had more shade and a calmer feel and the third was shallow with a hot tub. The beach was also fantastic - could walk, swim and had awesome snorkelling. Rooms were really nice with a spectacular view!! Definitely going  [... read more]back!!!!

Barcelo Huatulco: Wonderful people!

The staff at the resort made the experience fantastic. Everyone was singing and happily working. The resort is clean and the beach is beautiful. I recommend this spot due to the fantastic people who work there. Especially Alberto Reyes who watched over us and made sure we felt safe and looked after.

Secrets Huatulco: We loved everything about this resort

Best place ever. Food is fabulous at buffets and restaurants. People are great, helpful and ready to please. Pools are large with plenty of chairs. rooms are veryclean and spacious. Facility is large, modern with 9 floors and yet easy to get to anywhere. Beach is private and large - sand is grainy and water is warm. One area for improvement would be pool side music.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Probably the best resort in Huatulco

Very nice hotel built on a hill, so not recommended if you have mobility issues but they do have shuttle to take you every where. The grounds are beautiful, there's a ton of vegetation, lots of birds and animals. The hotel has 3 beaches, on has a nice reef with lots of fish 3m from the shore. Another one is perfect for lazing in the water, almost no waves, and the third one has more waves if you want to play in them and they serve drinks on the beaches so if you feel lazy .... The weather there is always perfect, it seems in rains about a month per year and usually during the night. It was 32 and sunny for 2 weeks when we were there with the water at 27C. Because of this, the hotel has a ton of return customers some were on their 15th visit. The food is good, not incredible but good. The snack bar has the same thing every day for lunch. The buffet is good and the "a la carte" restaurants are ok but they could be better. This being said we always found something good to eat, so don't let this stop you. It was our first time there, we'll probaby go back.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Nice Resort

Very nice resort, great staff, great food, good rooms. The rooms are spread out in four separate buildings, all built on hills. Lots of walking and lots of stairs. There is shuttle service to/from rooms, however if you have difficulty with stairs I would think twice before booking. We were there in late Feb early March and the weather was very hot 34c day 24c night. I believe its always very hot in Huatulco. The resort has 3 nice beaches and the water is good for swimming.

Park Royal Beach Huatulco: first and last time in this hotel

I am not usually someone who writes reviews, but I felt that I had to write one for this resort. This was the worst hotel that I've stayed in Huatulco! Its located on a hill and to get to the beach you have to wait too long for the cart to take you there. The beach is very small and it is more competitive than usual to get a palapa for shade, you have to get up very early in the morning. It is very noisy with loud entertainment and music all day long on the beach. The food is the same everyday and not too many choices and everything is cooked in advance. There is no grill stations like in other resorts for meat, fish or pasta.. Would not return.

Dreams Huatulco: Never a disappointment!

I can’t speak highly enough about this resort! Our third visit and each time has been exceptional! The staff were all soooo helpful, friendly and pleasant! Always clean and inviting, the food was always terrific and plentiful! The weather and beach are always spectacular!

Dreams Huatulco: Fair

The hotel needs some serious updating. Rooms, grounds were not as nice as 4 years ago. Tiles need desperate replacing . The food as we remember 4 years ago was plentiful with a lot of selection. This time not a good selection most times. The food was very bland at the Asian restaurant. Our favourite was the Italian which is where we ate most dinners. The main restaurant we had to wait at the buffet behind glass to be served which took forever, therefore we never attempted to eat there again.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Fantastic Peaceful Resort

The views are breath taking. Grounds are impeccable, and great food in the buffets. The bays are beautiful & full of tropical fish. We absolutely loved the grounds, catus everywhere. The staff are friendly and our room was always beyond well kept. Always lots of fresh towels at the beach and the pool. But for people with mobility issues this might not be the resort for them plenty of stairs considering Resort is built into the side of a mountain.
