3 start resort at best!

This hotel is underwhelming. "Premier" rooms are not well maintained and dated. They are located facing the activity pool and are extremely noisy. For those in buildings 7 and 8 you can also hear the noise from the "social area" which goes on until 11 pm or midnight. The only way to get away from the noise is to keep the air conditioner in the room running. Mini bar is a small fridge that is stocked with 2 beer daily and various sodas. The "class" system is that you must upgrade to Diamond [... read more] status to have upgrades which are not worth the money., nor are they usually available. The buffet food is mediocre and there is no variety from day to day whatsoever. Sunwing states that you may use facilities at the Royalton however they don't tell you that this doesn't include the pools or restaurants (or that there is additional charge for the restaurants at the Royalton and you must make a reservation) because they get to treat you like a 2nd class citizen if you are from Memories. Sunwing also has a vacation club that they like to state is not a "timeshare" but it is and the Concierge at the Memories main focus is to get you to attend a 90 minute presentation after which they will give you the hard sell. We managed to dodge that bullet and the only good part was the "free day" at the Royalton if you attended the presentation. Full use of buffet and pools and restaurants, etc. The staff however are very friendly at the Memories. They are well trained and very upbeat - though they must be bored out of their trees trying to keep the tourists happy. The Front desk is very disorganized but they try hard. Front desk staff at the Royalton were indifferent (we tried to move to the Royalton on the 2nd day of our trip but it was full. Unfortunately it seems the Memories is more interested with upselling the Nexus tours and tourist adventures. They are constantly wandering around the pool areas trying to sell activities and photos and/or timeshares. We have been to the DR many times and have never been hassled to that extent. The water park was a hit with our teenage grandchildren and was the main reason we booked this hotel. That and the accessibility to the Royalton which we found out was not as broad as we had expected. All in all our trip was rather disappointing.

Made memories at Memories.

Had a blast at this resort. The entertainment staff was awesome, the service was incredible. The Beach was heavenly.(Bavaro Beach). Will definitely recommend this to families, groups of friends or even singles. I will be back to the Dominican soon....

Memories Splash Resort, Punta Cana

Overall, the vacation was good. Service, staff and food were excellent. The downside was we went specifically for the children's splash park as we were traveling with two children ages 6 and 8. They could not play together at the park slides because one was too small for the big slides and the other was too big for the small slides. The bigger child wanted to play with his sister at the small park but was not allowed. They were disappointed about this.

Great resort for Families!

Loved Memories - kids enjoyed the "mixing up" of onsite waterpark in the morning then onto swimming beach or poolside. Staff throughout all areas of the resort from guest check-in, grounds crew, entertainment staff and cleaning ladies were very pleasant & always smiling, which keeps everyone in a good mood! Food is okay - buffet actually better than a la carte restaurant fare. Evening "shows" need a bit of work but having access to Royalton property is a definite bonus.

Good family option

Memories splash Punta cana. Great layout nice pool easy access to water park with great slides and wave pool. Food was above average repetitive buffet but that's expected with a A.I. Only downfall was constant pressuring by entertainment and some bar staff to write a good review on tripadvisor of them. For this reason alone would not return.

Fabulous vacation

My 9 year old daughter and I stayed at the Memories Splash resort from March 26-31, 2017. We had a great time. The resort was nice and clean. We stayed in the "older" part which still suited us fine. Lots of good food - even a picky eater can enjoy. We loved the waterpark - wasn't many lines and always found a chair there and at the pools. The only thing I didn't like was having to go next door to the Royalton resort to use the beach. Even though it was only a 15 min walk or 5 min trolley ride,  [... read more]it was still a nuisance and felt like an "intruder" at their 5 star resort. Found the vendors a little aggressive but just had to be firm.

Memories Splash in Punta Cana

The resort is a great place for vacation with kids of all ages. The water park is amazing, food was excellent, room was not so bad. I really liked the experience and would recommend to anyone. The airport in Punta Cana could have been better fit for huge volume of people, but that was the only bad memory I have :)

Amazing Resort!!!

Everything was so clean! The food and drinks were amazing 😃 The beach was clean as was the water park. The weather was also amazing! I can't think of anything we didn't like. We would happily return in the future for another vacation!!

Wow Wow Wow!!

Memories Splash is amazing in every aspect. The grounds are beautiful and clean, the pools have something for young and old with swim-up bars,fun play or relax in quiet. The social club was are place to dance and make friends. A la carte dining is walk-in (no reservations needed) and no line-ups. Awesome family resort!

A really relaxed vibe on arrival! The staff are very friendly, always smiling. The rooms were generous with space and updated. Grounds are gorgeous and the beach is beautiful. Food is good, great selection. Many pools and water park for the kids. If you like a quiet pool area stick to the one close the main lobby. Would definitely visit again next year.

We liked the kids waterpark

The kid's waterpark was fantastic for us. My 3 year old son had that most amazing time playing there each morning. We were lucky though that my son fell below the required height to be allow to play on the small slides because a lot of families experience issues - young children (perhaps tall for their age) who were not under 111 cm weren't allowed on the smaller slide and children who were between 111 cm and 119 cm weren't allowed on any slides at all. This is a serious flaw in the resort polic [... read more]ies and needs to be fixed. The flooring around the splash pad is beautiful but very slippery. This also should be fixed as people were getting hurt. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find out that although we had been informed that we could use all of the amenities of The Royalton, we could actually only use 1 pool, 1 small area on the beach and 2 restaurants, which weren't that great. To ensure that we enjoyed the vacation we thought we had booked, we had to pay $775 CDN for the 4 adults in our group to be able to eat and use the amenities of The Royalton. Our room at Memories was horrible. We paid for a premium room, close to the waterpark. Our room was far from "premium". Our relatives who did not pay for a premium room, close to the waterpark, had a better room than us and were closer to the waterpark. Our first room had a postage sized balcony with an opening of approximate a foot and a half, which was looking into a bush across the street from a wall. There was no natural sunlight going into the room. We quickly asked to move. Our request was accommodated. The room we were moved to was closer to the waterpark and had a much better balcony however, the room stunk, there were no doors on the closet and the shower leaked. We tried to upgrade to stay at a Royalton room, however, the resort was fully booked and even if it hadn't been booked, we would've had to pay another $775 CDN. Since we didn't want to waste any more of our vacation moving rooms within Memories, we stayed in this room. The resort activities are posted to the tvs in each room. Since the tv in our room didn't work, this made it very difficult to know what events were scheduled. The beach is beautiful. There are a few pools, which was great because it provided variety. Activities at the pool don't start until 3 p.m. which was disappointing. The Kids Club was ok when the activities in the calendar/schedule weren't cancelled or moved to a location unknown to guests. Parents don't tell your kids about the events in advanced because Kids Club staff often cancelled events without notice. For example, because we had experienced on several occasions that kids events didn't proceed as indicated on the schedule, 30 minutes before the Super Hero party I called the Kids Club to confirm that the party was proceeding as scheduled. I was ensured that the party was taking place 30 minutes later. We waited in the designated location. 15 minutes after the party was to have started, I inquired and was informed that the party had been cancelled. The staff at the resort were very nice. Knowing Spanish would help considerably. Although the resort is large, the shuttle busses run every couple of minutes and stop often throughout the resort. The walk from the kids waterpark to The Royalton is nice though. It's like walking through the jungle. The gym is in The Royalton section. It's small. It was kept very clean. The nighttime shows were enjoyable. The Michael Jackson show was incredible. Since we ate and played at The Royalton, I can't provide much further of review of Memories.

Fun times!

My family and I just got back from a vacation at memories splash Punta Cana and we had a great time! My three-year-old absolutely love the facilities and we were fairly pleased with the experience! Lots of choice at the buffet and no lineups for the restaurant & easy to get cots in high season! Staff was very responsive him we were fairly pleased!

Great times

We just returned from our 2nd visit to Memories Splash and really enjoyed it. The overall service was very good though we don't believe the diamond club service is worth the money anymore. It was amazing our first time but this time they let us know that management had cut back on that service and we couldn't use the a la carte restaurants at the Royalton which we previously had access to. The rooms and resort were clean and the staff very friendly. We love it for the water park which caters to everyone including parents! ( there are slides that parents can have some fun on too rather than just sitting and watching your kid all day). Overall it's a great place for families and great value for the dollar.

Nice resort.

The resort is very well laid out and the staff are accommodating. Some of the staff were amazing and the FRAN group (Julie and Antoine) were great with their activities for children and adults. To be honest, I much prefer the low key atmosphere of Memories to Royalton. The pool bar manager Ramone and his staff were loveable as was Pedro of the hotel entertainment group. Not being a "demanding" eater, I found the food and drink good (but difficult to handle due to the "all-inclusive" aspect). Pina Coladas and Rum - ouch!

Love to splash at Splash

What a great first trip to Punta cana! Had the best located room near the water park which the kids loved. The staff were all awesome, esp Ramon the baretender and the entertainment staff. Love the beach and pools. Great entertainment. bartender

Splash spectacular!

We went with my grandchildren to memories splash punta cana and had a wonderful time. I've been to other resorts in Punta cana but this was by far the most fun! Great food, room and the water park was terrific for the kids!

Great Resort with some disappointment

The resort was fantastic with the exception of the food at the buffet. Not much care in preparation or selection at times. Greatly disappointed with the selection in fresh fruit and vegetables. However we had the best concierge Kelly Herrera in our building. Catered to any of our concerns and requests. We've made a friend for life. Memories

The Mexican, Italian and under the sea restaurants were very good and the service was great. We enjoyed the entertainment groups around the pool and in the cafe area in the evening. Very friendly. We had very good service at the beach thanks to Eudes. He went out of his way for us. We took the VIP package, we had a concierge but after the first day, we didn't see him again. Rooms were ok but not very clean. Bed skort was dirty and washroom not very clean. The cleaning lady was ve [... read more]ry good at rearranging and adding towels. That service was good. Breakfast buffet wasn't good, not clean and no good service maybe because of the language barrier. Public washrooms were not clean. Resort needs to review quality assurance.

Good Resort

Great Rooms and room service. Water Park all that we hoped Food average for Dominican but clean facility and dishes regularly replenished Unfortunately kids club was closed the week that we re there. Offered alternative but not full program that was expected. Some bars took short cuts in mixing drinks versus the mixed drinks as they stated on their bar menu. Lot of tiled surfaces at this resort looks great but wear good footware

Absolutely beautiful!

Myself and my Wife visited Memories Splash Aug 30- Sept 6th, 2016. We had enjoyed every minute of our Vacation there! The Hotel is beautiful, staff was absolutely amazing, facilities were very clean. We enjoyed the food very much and especially the spectacular A la Carte restaurants- very, very impressive! The Splash Park was absolutely stunning, so much fun for kids/ adults.
